Hermione was at the table with Teddy in her arm and bottle hovering over him and eating her breakfast.
'Oh let me take him,' as Remus came in.
'Nope, I've got it and I need to get use to multitasking with a baby in hand. So get yourself a coffee and your plate.' pointing to the cover.
'Oh thanks Mione looks good. Wow I slept good last night.'
'I know, sorry but I added a little dreamless sleep to your drink last night. Figured it would do you some good. Now eat!'
Oh, Mione, My favorite, steak and eggs. Thank you!' as he tucked in, 'Oh the steak is rare! Thank you, how did you know?'
'Well let's see, I am the smartest witch of my time and I do read. I just figured with Monday coming up it…'
'Yes I do prefer my steak on the rare side just before changing. Thank you for thinking about me.'
'I'm just trying to make it easier with all that is going on right now. Are you going over to the hospital later?'
'Yea after a shower, go visit for a little bit. And then back here to watch Teddy, as you might have plans and I only ask for you to watch him on Monday night.'
'Hey if you want to stay all day that's fine with us.' Hermione got up to put Teddy in his bed. 'Winky and I.' pop Winky showed up. 'Have it under control.' Winky was now rubbing Teddy's back and humming a tune to him and nodding that they had everything under control. 'The only plans I had was to read and I can still get that done and watch him. Now go spend the day with Tonks, I can make you a sandwich to take for lunch while you shower, now go!' pushing him up the stairs.
The rest of the morning was quiet. Hermione took over the watch while Winky did her other chores for the day. 'Miss must rub this way little master likes it this way.' she was a little put out, before leaving. Popping back in with his bottle a little later 'That miss is his hungry cry let me feed little master please.' The rest of the afternoon Teddy barely whimpered and if he did Winky was there feeding, changing or just spending time with him. Remus came home just before dinner to see Harry and Ron sitting at the table and Teddy in his bed by the wall sound asleep.
'Has he been good today?
'What were you expecting leading a revolt across England?' Harry laughed.
'No but if he's in a mood he can cry for hours, I hope he was good?' looking at Hermione.
'Well you had better ask Winky as she has only let me watch him while she was doing her chores.' with hearing her name Winky popped in.
'Master, little master slept until 11, I changed his diaper and fed and burped him, he fell back to sleep until 3, changed his diaper fed and burped again. And he should wake up about 7 and I will….'
Remus interrupted her. 'I can get the next one. Thank you so much for your help Winky.'
'Winky will come get him at 9 to take him to bed and will watch him thru the night for master.' she said just before popping out.
'Wow, she really loves him?'
'Yea, she told me all of her secrets to his favorite things. You will have to rub left to right on his back oh and bounce, bounce, pat to get him to burp. Yea she is obsessed with his care.' Hermione said with a giggle. 'I'll show you later if she hasn't.' giggling again.
'Hi guys how have things been going?' as he sat down and poured a glass of juice.
'Here,' as Hermione passed out the dinner plates, 'Harry,' and plate to Ron and then passed Remus his plate of rare steak and jacket potato and sat down with her plate. Remus looked up and mouthed thank you, Hermione just nodded and ask how did everybody's day had gone. At 7 almost to the second Teddy woke with a cry and a bottle appeared on the table next to Remus. Everybody laughed. Remus changed his diaper and fed him and the burping as Hermione stated the right way to do it. Teddy fell asleep shortly after in his father's arms. The sat and talked about the past few weeks and as the clock struck 9 Winky had shown up to relieved Remus of his duties for the night.
'I'm sorry for stealing your house elf Harry.'
'No problem, after the fighting was done she really had no place to go so we asked her if she wanted to come work here with Kreacher. We have been trying to find her spot here and I think we have just found it, helping Hermione and care of Teddy so you are more than welcome to stay as long as you want,' Harry said with a smile
'It would be closer for me to visit St Mungos from here. Are you sure you don't mind? At least until Tonks gets out.' He looked hopeful.
'Yes, as Ron and I are back and forth between the Burrow and here. You can keep Hermione company when you're home. Well that's settled you're staying here for now.' he bade good night, Ron flooed home. Hermione wished him a good sleep and climbed the stairs to her room. Remus ponder the evenings conversation, they still accepted him and he now had a safe place to stay and help caring for his son until Tonks woke up. He smiled as he got up to go to bed.
