Remus was feeding Teddy his bottle, when Hermione came down to start breakfast.
'You're up early.'
'Yea I wanted to spend time with Teddy as I have to do some running around this afternoon after visiting Tonks. Don't worry I will be home with plenty time to eat before tonight's 'furry little problem shows up.' Hermione smiled with that and started cooking.
Smiling as she heard a big burp. 'Sure hope that was Teddy and not you?' she laughed. She placed his breakfast plate down and grabbed Teddy from him so he could eat. 'Do you like your steak still rare after you change?' she asked nonchalantly.
'Are you sure you don't mind cooking them that way?' looking at Hermione.
'I wouldn't ask if I minded now would I?' starting to bristle.
'Ok yes, I should be back to normal meals Wednesday. Thank you for going to so much trouble just for 'my furry little problem'.' laughing.
'Oh I did forget to ask do you prefer a different cut or breed of meat?' she asked
'No beef is good.' but she did notice a slight hesitation as if he might prefer something else but she could worry about that next time.
He thanked Hermione again for the child care and special meals. As he went to shower and get his errands done for the day.
Remus flooed in just before dinner a little flustered.
'What's wrong Remus?' Hermine asked as she was just going to start dinner.
'Well one of my errands was unobtainable so…' He said
'Well if it what I think it is? He is here, I sent a note over this morning to ask for some books on your...' Severus walked in and interrupted Hermione.
''Furry little problem' so I thought I would save you some time and deliver both here.' Handing him a steaming glass. 'Now drink up Remus.'
'Yuck I wish there was way to make it taste better!' as he swallowed it down in one. 'Thank you Severus for the extra troubles.'
Severus nodded as he left by floo.
'Well eat up so we can get you down stairs.' placing a plate in front of him.
'Oh thank you I like the eggs on my steak.' he said as he dung in.
'Well then that will definitely be for breakfast, unless there is a better idea?' she said with a grin. 'And they will be cooked or you can crack your own eggs.' as she cringed at the thought of eating raw eggs.
'Nope, sunnyside up is just fine.' noticing the slight thought that he would prefer raw eggs but wouldn't put her through that.
'Hey you never told me you like your eggs sunnyside up, I've been cooking them over easy.' she said a little hurt.
'Hermione, you were going out of your way to help me, I wasn't going to ask for special treatment. I'm sorry I didn't want to put you out.' he said softly.
'Flipping and not flipping an egg is no extra trouble, so would you like your steak raw? I can do that with ease, just slap that thing on a plate.' she said.
'No the few seconds on each side helps with the scent and warms it just right. Thank you again for this.' pointing at his plate.
Hermione took note to his preferences, as she had been cooking the steak too much for his liking and over cooking his eggs.
Just as he was finishing up with dinner Winky brought Teddy over so they could spend time together while him and Hermione talked about how Tonks was doing, as he thought he saw her stir earlier that morning. Realizing the time he passed Teddy to Winky and thanked for caring for Teddy. 'Master it is no problem. Little master is a good baby and easy to care for.' as she popped out with Teddy. Remus thank Hermione again for going through all of this trouble, as he walked down the stairs telling her the list of spells needed to secure the door and showed her the list pinned to the wall, where he had also wrote down the times of the rise and set of the moon so she would know when it was safe to unlock the door. And that he would probably sleep for a few hours before coming up for breakfast. He turned and pulled the door closed, Hermione started to place all of the guards and wards up. She slowly turned as she reached the top of the stairs she stole a look to see Remus slowly undressing, she turned back not to be caught staring at him. She closed the door at the top of the stairs. The books sitting on the table in the hall way cried to be read. Hermione took the books to bed to read, 'The Werewolf' she had remembered most of what she had learned in school but never hurt to learn more. She fell asleep reading, her restlessness was not nightmares but trying to find ways to help.
