Thursday all five showed up for a tour and lunch, They started down stairs looking around the room, Pomfrey and Karr heads together pointing at this and at that, writing notes. They all sat at the table eating lunch asking questions, Madam Pomfrey asked about the room set up and how could they do that at the school. Remus suggested the rebuilding the shrieking shack it was still easily accessible and very secure to please the governors. Healer Karr asked more about the diet. Remus said beef worked but he did prefer venison and elk and they were trying to figure out which of the listed possibly bones as a midnight snack. Madam Pomfrey did notice Remus was looking his best since she could remember. Professors Snape and Maynard asked Remus about his mental state during the change. They all wished to witness the session but came to the conclusion there wouldn't be enough room for all of them to observe at once so they decided to split in two groups Minerva, Madam Pomfrey and Healer Karr first so they could start implementing the diet protocol and possible refurnish a room to work for them, and then Snape and Maynard. Hermione gladly said she could wait to release the paper if she would get all fives input to the paper and their observations, and help to write up a proposal for the ministry to make this available to all affected witch or wizard. The next week was answering questions. The week of the 3rd Hermione placed her order for meat at the butchers. Hermione went to Diagon Alley on Tuesday, picking up the meat order and asking Winky to take it home to cold storage. Then she went over to the muggle side to get some last minute shopping done at the pet store, thinking toys might help and if the school sets up a group room tug toys might be fun she would ask Remus when she got home and the office supply store to get more pens and paper and clipboard. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday followed the normal routine steak and eggs for breakfast, Remus would run into Hogsmeade to get his potion then come home for his steak and potato dinner. On Friday Minerva, Madam Pomfrey and Healer Karr came over about 4 to watch the dinner prep. Both Madam Pomfrey and Healer Karr asked to be called Poppy and Karen. Hermione handed them the clipboards with the pen and paper so it would be easier to take notes, a chart of the meats and cuts available and had been used so far and the list would be up dated before publishing the paper. But choices could depend on budget, and a list of treats available. Remus got back just as Hermione handed out the lists. Giving his preferences and why. And that a room temperature steak cooked 2 seconds each side was perfect. His veggie choices varied but he preferred jacket potatoes. Hermione said she had noticed he was more possessive the week before. That if they were in town shopping, he was more alert, hand on her back steering her thru the crowd, standing between her and other men. Remus added that the few days before the sex was a little rougher as well and that he could tell if his mate was in heat. His eyebrow shot up. The sex would be a frantic trying to mate. Karen must have noticed the eye brow because she turned to Hermione, as she nodded in conformation. 'And I think you might be pregnant Karen, may I smell your wrist?' she raised her wrist, he sniffed and sneezed. 'I smell a lot of perfume but yes I can smell the hormones, Congratulation.'

'Thank you, we have been trying for a few years now.' Karen received congratulations from the others and they continued. They discussed the werewolf to werewolf breeding would result in a litter of cubs that would be whelped on the second full moon. The mother would be able to give first milk and the cubs would be hand raised.

At this statement Minerva gasped 'Hagrid raised a litter of cubs once.'

'Yes, as far as I know the only litter to be born here in England, and I far as I know still live in the forbidden forest.' Remus told the group, 'and as I have Teddy as proof human werewolf produces a normal child during non-moon mating. A moon mating would result in her death after, due to the ferocity of the mating. So if you have wards it might be best to separate the sexes, especially if females are in heat. You will have fights for dominance. The winner will take any and all in heat. You will have a rape situation with injuries.' both Poppy and Karen taking notes.

'Oh Remus, I was going to ask, would toys help?' as she dumped a bag on the table, balls, rope and squeaky toys rolled out. 'I didn't know if you would play with these.' bouncing the ball.

'I don't know as I never had them growing up but the cubs might play with them, we can put them in and see.'

'Good this one is kind of annoying.' as she squeaked a big blue toy, with a grin. More notes taken, as Hermione got up to start dinner for Remus and put the stew that she had started earlier in bowls for the ladies. She placed a basket of bread on the table then handed the bowls out.

'Please start his will be done in just a few seconds.' putting the steak in the hot pan, counting 2 and flipping it counting 2 again, plating it beside a jacket potato, as she walked over and placed his plate in front of him.

Remus took a deep breath. 'Thank you!' looking up at her.

'Yes you can, they need to see the normal routine.' as he tucked in, as he finished he licked the blood juices from the plate.

'Ladies I like to keep a routine and after dinner I spend time with my son, so if you don't mind?'

'Oh no keep with routine, we can continue to talk and take notes.' Poppy said.

Hermione conjured her blanket and wrapped herself in it.

'And if you have any question don't hesitate to ask question, we will be just on the back garden.' as Winky popped in with Teddy, who was passed around for a quick cuddle from all and an extra cuddle from Karen. Hermione and Remus carrying Teddy went to sit in the garden.

Poppy came to the door 'Do you mind one more question?'

'No ask away.' Remus said over his shoulder as he turned to face her.

'Do you have a preference with the treats?'

'Um No well not yet as I have only had a left over beef rib bone, goat leg and turkey leg. I haven't had enough to decide but it will most likely be a snack and no real meat value just a something to do. But we will continue to rotate the choices to see if one is better than another and that will be shared as we find out.'

'Thank you Remus.' as she turned in to the kitchen.

'You never told me you could smell me.' She raised her eye brow.

'Yes, you have used the turgeo charm.'

'What? How did you know? All this time?'

'The smell has lessened. I guess I only noticed today because we talked about us, and I have been given permission to court you that I really noticed. That first 2 months I don't know if it was stress or knowing you would not be a mate possibility that I didn't notice. Last month I think I picked up a whiff but let it go. but I will warn you sex might be a little rougher the week of and with you in being in heat I will feel the need to mate often and it will be rough, but I can do without if you prefer.' he said sheepishly.

'Well the first two I missed due to stress. But when we get there in our relationship I will most likely try, and most girls do not like to because of the mess and kind of think of it as taboo to have sex during the cycle. But I will try it once.' she leaned over to kiss him. 'Well, honey I think it's time to go down stairs.' as she got up, Winky came to collect Teddy for the night. Hermione grabbed a bag from cold storage and the bag of toys. They all tromped down the stairs, bag of toys in a pile on the floor, a duck neck and calf hock placed in the bowl, water bowl was full.

'Here.' handing Remus a loincloth. 'Didn't think you'd want to show your boy bits.' giggling. 'And I kind of prefer to be the only one to see them.' winking at him.

'Thank you Mione. I love you.' he leaned in for a quick kiss. 'You better go.' she threw the blanket to the chair and closed the door and put the wards up. As Remus undressed putting the loincloth on to save his bits from view, he placed his clothes in the cubby hole. She backed up so Poppy and Karen could watch firsthand the change, Minerva and Hermione stood right behind them, with Hermione narrating the change.

'See the small twitch and then…' as Remus changed forms. This time a small grimace left his face but otherwise an easy transformation, 'First transformation was rougher as you have read in the paper. He seems calm even though he has more watchers which is good. He does tend to pace, but today is even shorter than last time.' marking on her paper. Remus had gone over to the pile of toys and grabbed the squeaky one and sat their squeaking in nonstop for a whole two minutes. She leaned in to the door. 'Are you doing that just to piss me off?' she yelled in. he came to the door and spat it out, and barked at the door. Turned and picked up the calf hock on his way over to the bed.

'So he knows what is going on! And he can comprehend?' Karen sputtered as she, Poppy and Hermione scribbled on their papers. 'Can he see us?' Poppy asked.

'No we decided that not being able to see if we were here to view him would make a difference, but we can drop the blocking charm at any time, to see if he has any reactions.' Hermione said. Remus barked.

'Oh he heard us?' Karen said, Remus barked again.

'Yes his hearing is excellent just like his sense of smell.' in a very low voice, he barked again this time at the door no one had notice him sneak over. They all jumped. He barked and spun around and tried to catch his tail.

'The silly bugger?' Minerva giggled. Hermione decided to lift the blocking charm, So Remus could see them. He stopped briefly and then changed directions. They all laughed, trying to write in their note books. He finally stopped went got a drink and went back to his bone. He stopped chewing for a moment listening. He got up and ran over to the window and started to bark and howl.

'He must have heard the neighbor's dog, and I can tell you that other animals can be placed with him and they will be safe. In school he had company, and he said it did help occupy the time in the shrieking shack.' she said in whisper.

'I knew those boys were up to something.' Minerva spoke.

'That is why I asked Minerva for help to learn, I can help others, as they won't have this,' pointing to the glass door. 'To observe the first few cycles in their new room to make sure it is set up for them.'

Remus had tired of the one sided conversation and came over to the door.

'Sirius?' Remus howled a long sad sound. 'James?' another sad howl. Minerva reminisced his fellow marauders. 'Peter?' that sparked a horrible growl from him. 'Oh I'm sorry for mention him. Remus I'm so sorry.' they had all jump at that reaction. He went over to the pile of toys and found the rope and started to shake it ferociously.

'Can we try something?' as she climb in front and sat on the floor, she spoke into one of the hole in the glass. 'Hey calm down that worthless piece of trash is gone, there is nothing we can do about it now, and you have thoroughly given the toy a thrashing. Go get a drink and come here,' he had stopped but hadn't dropped the rope yet. 'Now!' he dropped and did what he was told. He leaned up against the door. 'Now that's better, I'm sorry we can't change the past but we have tomorrow to try to make it better for others,' she stuck her finger into the hole and rubbed his ear. She leaned in to give him a quick kiss on the little bit of ear that was sticking out. 'Now why don't you go get in your chair and sleep it off. I love you.' The last part was whispered in. He turned and licked at the hole in the door just grazing Hermione's finger as he went to burrow in under her blanket on the chair. That got them all talking and writing notes. Hermione conjured comfy chairs and the spent time talking and snoozing until morning, to watch the change back. They almost missed it as Remus was all curled up under blanket they could just see the shape of his shoulders move. Hermione asked Winky to bring the breakfast tray down. Steak 4 sunnyside up eggs and 4 eggs in a mug showed up just as she was unlocking the door, and placed it on the tray stand accioed the loincloth for Remus and tucked it under the blanket.

'Thanks, love.' as he placed it around his waist and sat up to eat. 'Come on in, I'm good, as I slept most of the night, I will most likely take a nap later but this has been the easiest cycle so far.'

'Are you sure? We don't want to bombard you with questions this early in the morning.' Poppy spoke.

'No, Please I'm fine, come sit.'

They all brought their chairs in and started asking questions. They asked about the comprehension of what had been said and that he had been told to stop and calm down. He confessed he was not sure if it was because there was a connection or he would listen to anyone, all scribbled on their note pads.

As Remus finished his breakfast, Winky brought Teddy down and took the tray on the return trip.

'Thank you Winky can you start breakfast for the rest of us please?' Hermione asked before she left.

They asked if there was a need to do any changes to the room. Remus's only additions would be depending on the number in the room for extra beds, as in if you have 10 planed have at least 3 extra to stop fighting, Normally there is no fighting but there is always the slight chance someone comes in frustrated and it will carry over in the change.

'So extra water bowls and treats bowls and lots of toys, Right.' Poppy said

'And have everybody meet and get to know each other before hand to make sure we won't need to separate any.' Karen added.

'And if any girls are… All boys are to be separated as they can even …. as young cubs.' Remus added. Both Poppy and Karen wrote this down with a few under lines.

'Because even though I am a grown man and I have manners and morals, I really want to get to Hermione last night. And in the past I would have try anything and would have hurt myself trying to get to her, but with proper care also knowing the door was locked and warded, she was safe.' looking over to Hermione. 'I don't want to be negative but you have to know, so we can make the best wards for all future needs. So yes this will be hard at first for all involved, I think therapy for all the men to make sure their mental issues are under control. I hate to say it but there are still those that think woman are property and with wolf tendencies would make cycles rough for any female near the ward. But with a routine, I believe it will get better, it did with me, and I am willing to do everything in my powers to make thing easier for all.'

'Master and Misses breakfast is ready' was heard from the top of the stairs.

'Well this is a good place to take a break and digest the information you have graciously given us.' Minerva said as they turned and headed up the stairs.

'And please start without us we just need a minute.' Remus said to their backs.

Remus handed Teddy to Hermione and got dresses gave Hermione a long meaningful kiss,

'So would a good shagging contain your need during the night?' with a shy smile.

'Well it might but we are not there yet, I am gentleman and will honor you for a little while longer, next month might be hard due to being out here with 2 possible rivals standing next to you all night.'

'What Maynard and Snape, eww! No you are the only one I want.'

'Well, I have seen Severus eye you up and down a few times so he has thought about it. And I know you are not interested but in my world you can take what you want, I would not be able to protect you.' Remus was sounding a little frantic. 'I don't think he would do it but...'

'Remus Lupin I know he wouldn't even try to, as much as you two hate each other he still has honor and would not touch me but if it makes you feel better Karen or Poppy can get me a potion to stop my monthly cycle so I won't be smelly and throwing hormones out there... Ok?' she stood tall and gave him the eye as she turned to leave, Remus reached out to stop her on the bottom step and kissed her.

'Thank you!' as they join the table for breakfast and more questions.

Late morning all questions and theories had been discussed. All had promised to get their observations and notes wrote up and to Hermione so she could compile them and get new revised paper out to all before the next moon for Snape and Maynard to read. Remus had taken Teddy upstairs so Hermione could ask for her favor in private. Hermione had told Karen and Poppy of Remus's reluctance to me being left in the hall with two men and he knows it is irrational but, we thought if I could take that issue out he could have a peaceful cycle change, not worrying that I might be taken. So can either of you give me a potion to skip my monthly?'

'Oh, yes dear we will come up with the best and get it to you in time. Do you want to completely change your cycle or just skip it?' Karen asked.

'Oh I don't know, but for right now I guess just skip right now and we can decide later about the timing of the future ones. Thank you so much that will calm his nerves for the next moon.' she hugged Karen and Poppy and bade them goodbye. She thanked Minerva for all of the support in the paper and with her studies. She hugged her and bade her goodbye with the promise of continuing the good work. She found Remus in the library looking at the notes Hermione had taken.

'Ready for your nap?' as she sat down at the end of the settee.

'Not really tired yet.' but she could see it in his eyes.

'Well just lie here and ...' pointing to her lap.

'Are you sure?' She eyed him 'ok' as he moved over and placed his head in her lap.

'Karen and Poppy said they would get me a potion before the next moon so you won't have to worry and we can change the week for the following months or just use a skipping potion when needed, so I guess it just depends on how things go.' she started to run her fingers thru his hair, she could see his eyes falling fast, 'Not tired uh?'

'Nope, just feels so good…' as he fell asleep. She smiled and accioed a book over and continued the run her finger thru his hair and read. He woke some time later.

'How did I get so lucky?' Remus said stretching and yawning. 'I didn't mean to tie you down for so long.'

'No problem I got some reading done,' Showing him the cover to some muggle romance novel. 'And fate must have decided we made a good couple and brought us together.' she leaned over and kissed him. 'Are you ready for dinner?' as she wrote on her note pad. 'Just noting your sleep time, all for science.'

After dinner they went back to the library Hermione had Teddy on her lap and her legs on Remus's lap.

'Do you need? Want? A steak in the morning?' she asked.

'Um as of right now the urge to eat rare is not there I might be different in the morning but right now I would have to say a regular breakfast will do and I think we should try to cut back on the pre meals. I ate it but didn't really need the meal Wednesday morning and even the evening meal might have been skipped,' Hermione interrupted him.

'Why didn't tell me?' huffing at him.

'Not knowing if the extra guest would affect me I didn't want to change up too many things at once, but now knowing, I think I will skip the first day meals of rare. They were good but not a have to eat rare steak need. Do you know what I mean?' she nodded.

'Yea. We will drop the Friday rare and have one extra steak for Sunday just in case we need it.' she reached over and wrote all of this down, tapped it to make 3 copies and had them sent to the other 3 ladies.

Within a few days Karen and Poppy had sent over their notes and conclusions, copies had been sent back out so they could compare notes on the new information. Minerva sent a few questions over, Hermione and Remus answered them and sent those back with the plans to have the lunch the next day so they all could talk and discuss the papers so far.
