Chapter 17: Training Rose
The next person to train Rose was Merlin
"Any luck on her Focusless magic?" Merlin asks curiously after entering Hadrian's room.
"She could barely make the damn cup move" Hadrian states annoyed
"Very well. It would seem that I have some work to do" Merlin says as she walks out of his room
Good luck Rose, you're going to need it, Hadrian thought slightly pale at the thought of Merlin teaching Rose as he got dressed and went downstairs.
Walking through Hogwarts Hadrian sighs and shakes his head
Why did I have to come back to the Potters? Hadrian thought annoyed
"Hey look, it's The-Girl-Who-Lived's twin" A voice taunts and Hadrian turned to see a bunch of 7th year Hufflepuff students acting tough
"Don't you have something better to do than taunt me?" Hadrian asks curious
"Ooh, we might hurt his precious feelings" The 7th year says as if he was talking to a baby
"And your about to have some broken bones if you continue to annoy me" Hadrian threatened
The Hufflepuffs laugh before smirking at Hadrian
"We are going to make you regret ever being born" The Hufflepuff growls
"Your mother would certainly be disappointed if that were the case" Hadrian taunts with a smirk on his face
The Hufflepuff roars in anger and charges at Hadrian before punching him in the face.
"Geez you hit worse then Escanor does at night and that is saying something" Hadrian taunts completely unfazed by the Hufflepuffs strike
"I hit you!? Why aren't you hurt!?" The Hufflepuff demands fearfully
"Because you are pathetically weak. Get out before I show you what a real punch feels like" Hadrian threatened
"Rogers come on" The Hufflepuff now known as Rogers glares at Hadrian before listening to his friend and leaves
Pathetic Hadrian thought disgusted
Hadrian then walks in the opposite direction and enjoys the scenery.
While Hadrian enjoys the view of Hogwarts, Rose sat with Merlin who was forcing her to move the cup without a focus
"Why am I doing this!?" Rose demands frustrated
"Because once you get the hang of using magic without a focus then your magical core will be stronger which in turn will make your magic with a focus far more efficient" Merlin explains
"But why doesn't Hadrian do this?" Rose asks
"Because he did it when he was a kid and they have an easier time when their core isn't reliant on a focus" Merlin answers
Rose sighs and continues to force her magic to move the cup.
After a few minutes Rose gasps as her body was covered in sweat and she was incredibly tired
"Tiring isn't it?" Merlin asks with a teasing smile
"Why is it so difficult?" Rose asks as she gasps for air
"Because your body isn't used to using magic without a focus so your body has to work extra hard to push your magic out of your body but not just that, focusless magic uses more magic then focused but the end result is a far more powerful core after getting used to it" Merlin answers
"How strong is Hadrian?" Rose asks out of the blue
"Depends on what your referring to" Merlin replies
"In magic. How strong is he" Rose answers
"In magic is he the second best but that is because he mainly uses offensive magic while I use a wide variety of it" Merlin informs Rose
"Why doesn't he use all types of magic?" Rose asks curious
"Because Hadrian is a fighter and when it comes to magic he finds the more destructive magics far more interesting" Merlin answers
"I see," Rose says to herself.
The rest of the day Rose would practice focusless magic and succeeded in making her cup float for a few minutes straight before becoming exhausted while Hadrian adventures around Hogwarts with nearly no problems besides the taunting and assault from Rogers and his buddies.
Entering the Boar Hat Tavern, Hadrian sees the Sins drinking and having a good time
"It is so good" King slurred as he floated through the air
"Hey Captain I bet I can do better than you" Ban says with his face red from drinking
"You're on," Meliodas says before they both begin their drinking competition.
"They seem to be having fun" A voice says from beside Hadrian.
Looking in the direction of the voice Hadrian sees Diane standing there watching the Sins mess around like they did in the old days.
"Yeah. I'm just waiting for you to join in and I'll have to bring you ass hats up then damned stairs like I did back then" Hadrian teased
"Don't be like that" Diane pouted
Hadrian laughs and pats Diane on the head and walks to the counter.
"Sir Hadrian, what would you like?" Elizabeth asks
"I would like some Ale, thank you Elizabeth" Hadrian orders
"Vanya Ale coming right up" Elizabeth says and Hadrian chuckles
The best one for me huh? Hadrian thought as the mug was passed to Hadrian
"Thanks" Hadrian says before having a sip
"I thought you said you aren't drinking as much as them" Merlin teases as she sat beside Hadrian
"I don't. Look at them and tell me I drink as much as them" Hadrian says and Merlin looks and sees that both Meliodas and Ban are in their 13th drink
"Ok you definitely don't drink as much as them" Merlin admits
"See. Anyway, how did Rose's training go today?" Hadrian asks curious
"Not bad, despite her starting point her focusless magic has increased incredibly as of late and she even has some potential in true magic" Merlin says piquing Hadrian's interest
"I remember when you taught me true magic and that isn't a walk in the park Merlin. You think she can handle it?" Hadrian asks worried
"Ah, worried about your sister?" Merlin asks with a teasing smile on her face
"Merlin I'm more worried about you then her" Hadrian answers as he takes another sip
"I think you do worry about her but you try to shut that side of yourself off" Merlin says
"Is it that obvious, huh?" Hadrian asks annoyed
"Yeah if you know where to look" Merlin answers
"I see. I haven't seen her in 16 years and after years without contact with her she expects things to be as if 19 years of my life never happened. The neglect, the battles, the fun and the Sins" Hadrian sighs as he chugs his Ale
"I don't think she is asking that. I think she is asking for a chance, a chance to fix the damage done" Merlin says saddened
"You really think so Merlin?" Hadrian asks
"Yes" Merlin says firmly
"Look me in the eyes and tell me Rose, James and Lily won't force me to stop all of this. Stop being a Sin and a Holy Knight" Hadrian says as he moves closer to Merlin.
Merlin's confidence began to wane as she stared at Hadrian's emerald green eyes
Will they try to force him to stop? Merlin thought
"I-I…" Merlin stutters trying to form words
"Merlin, despite them wanting me back, how long will it take before they revert back to the neglectful state they once were? They have done it once they can do it again" Hadrian states as his mug was refilled
Maybe he has a point Merlin thought to herself as she sipped some wine from her glass.
The next morning Hadrian sits on top of Hogwarts sharing at the view thinking on his talk with Merlin
They will only become neglectful once some time has passed. Right? Hadrian wondered before shaking his head
They will revert back. This is only a phase and soon I will be forgotten once more Hadrian thought firmly.
Hadrian then noticed Rose running around the lake with Ban next to her
Seems like Ban wants her to be physically fit for the task Hadrian thought as he watched Rose run before falling to her knees
Hmm, not bad but not good either. Damned magicals are not physically fit. King and Merlin can be excused since they can fly but the ones here cant so their dodging ability is based on their physical strength and endurance and yet they act superior about it Hadrian thought disappointed
"Mr Potter!" A voice exclaims and Hadrian turns to see Professor Mcgonagall staring at him with fear in her eyes
"Yes?" Hadrian asks curious
"What are you doing up there!?" Professor Mcgonagall demands
"Just enjoying the view" Hadrian answers
"Get down from there!" Professor Mcgonagall demands
"Very well" Hadrian says as he jumps down much to Professor Mcgonagall's shock and fear.
Landing on the ground with a loud crash, Hadrian stands up without a scratch before dusting himself off
"That was fun" Hadrian jokes as he notices the stone beneath him cracked due to the force of his landing.
"Mr Potter!" A voice yells and Hadrian sees Professor Mcgonagall running to him with a group of students behind her
"Yes?" Hadrian asks with an innocent expression
"Don't you yes me Mr Potter! Why did you jump off!" Professor Mcgonagall demands
"Oh because you said so" Hadrian answers innocently
Haha please get angry, I need some bloody entertainment Hadrian hoped
"You weren't supposed to jump down!" Professor Mcgonagall exclaims
"Minerva what is the matter?" Professor Flitwick asks, walking towards the group.
"Mr Potter jumped!" Professor Mcgonagall exclaims pointing at the area Hadrian sat while he enjoyed the view
"Mr Potter seems unharmed Minerva, perhaps this is common for him" Professor Flitwick says with a shrug
"Common!? Filius, he jumped from 700 feet! He jumped from that high and crashed into the ground! Look!" Professor Mcgonagall exclaims pointing towards the cracks in the ground
"Incredible, to cause such damage and remain unharmed is incredible Mr Potter" Professor Flitwick says awed
"Don't congratulate him!" Professor Mcgonagall exclaims
James then runs outside when hearing Mcgonagall yell
"What happened?" James asks worried
"Your son jumped off the top of Hogwarts!" Professor Mcgonagall yelled angrily
"You shouldn't have done that Hadrian" James scolded
"And what makes you think I give any fucks about what you want?" Hadrian asks annoyed
"I am your father Hadrian" James states calmly
"And you haven't been my father for over a decade" Hadrian retorts
Before James could continue the argument Hadrian walked off not wanting to deal with James and his stupidity.
Walking to the Black Lake, Hadrian sees Rose gasping for air as she sat on the grass while Ban stood by enjoying the view of the lake
"You seem to be having fun" Hadrian teases
"Why am I doing this?" Rose asks tiredly
"Because you can't fly like Merlin and King so you will need to be physically fit to dodge any attacks that you can't block" Hadrian answers
Rose nods and lies on the grass taking deep breaths, calming her heart rate.
"Do you care about us?" Rose asks out of the blue
"Huh?" Hadrian asks confused
"Do you care about us? Me, Mum and Dad?" Rose asks sitting back up and staring at her brother's eyes
"I don't know Rose. I don't want to be anywhere near Lily and James if that's what your asking" Hadrian states causing Rose to flinch
"But what about me?" Rose asks fearful of Hadrian's answer
"You were young Rose, I don't' know if we can be like siblings but it's possible for us to be acquaintances and maybe even friends" Hadrian answers
"I see" Rose says saddened
"Have the rest of the day off Harry's sister" Ban says as he walks off.
Rose chuckles and shakes her head
"Something on your mind?" Hadrian asks curious
"It's just… Hehe. Being known as your sister isn't so bad" Rose says with a small smile on her face
"I'm surprised. I would have expected you to hate it since your not in the spotlight" Hadrian says surprised
"Trust me Hadrian, I'm not the biggest fan of the spotlight, that's for sure," Rose says with a giggle.
"Fair enough. Have a good day off Rose because you are going to be trained by King and I'm certain he will have you try to use magic and make multiple objects float simultaneously so that's going to drain you" Hadrian says as he gets up and begins to walk off
"Hadrian!" Rose calls out
He turns to her with a confused expression
"Thank you. For helping me" Rose says grateful
'No problem," Hadrian replies as he waves goodbye.
Sitting in the Gryffindor common room Rose thought about the day that her parents discovered that Hadrian disappeared.
I lost something that so many would only dream of and I just let it slip from my grasp. Rose thought disappointed in herself.
Flashback
It was a regular day and Rose was laughing alongside her parents
"Come on Rose, do you want to play on the broom?" James asks with a smile on his face but soon changed when Lily hit him on the head
"She will not be playing on a broom mister!" Lily states firmly
"Oh why not Lils?" James asks pouting
"Because I said so" Lily answers
Rose watches her two parents and laughs, enjoying her parents' antics.
Rose then looked around and decided that she was bored and wanted to play but her parents were arguing.
Rose then remembered her twin brother Hadrian and wanted to play with him
"Mummy, can I play with Harry?" Rose asks hopeful
"Ok honey let's go see Hadrian" Lily says as she picks up Rose
"Where is Harry's room again?" James asks
Lily then looks at James in shock before her shock turned to confusion
Where is Hadrian's room? Lily thought and she started to go pale
How could we forget where our own son's room was? Lily thought horrified
"Maybe it's near Rose's room" James says enthusiastically
Oh yeah that's right Lily thought relieved.
The 3 then head to Rose's room and go to the one next to it.
Opening the door Lily and James saw that the room next to Rose's. They were expecting to see Hadrian inside or at least some of his things but the room was in fact the old baby room that both Rose and Hadrian shared
"Where's Harry's room?" James asks confused
"Mummy, where is Harry?" Rose asks worriedly and on the verge of tears.
Little did Lily and James know the reason for Rose's worry was because the twin bond between the two sensed the distance between the two causing Rose to worry and feel empty as if she was missing a part of herself.
After half an hour the 3 Potters eventually found Hadrian's room which was at the end of the house furthest away from everyone and there was no sight of Hadrian.
"Maybe he is outside" James says with a smile but Lily saw the fear and worry in her husband's eyes.
Checking outside they see that Hadrian wasn't outside and their fear only increased.
In Lily's arm, tears begin to flow down Rose's face, her twin, her brother. Her other half was gone and she didn't know where he was.
James immediately Floo called Dumbledore and informed him of Hadrian being missing.
Dumbledore put up several tracking charms both blood based and magic with no luck.
"Is there any way to find him?" Lily asks as tears threaten to flow down her face.
"I don't think so Lily" Dumbledore says saddened
"There has to be some way" James pleaded
Lily and James held onto hope that Hadrian would return while Rose would cry herself to sleep knowing that she won't see her brother again for a long time.
Flashback End
Tears flow down Rose's face as she remembers the years of feeling empty knowing the reason that she was missing her other half was because she drove him away.
Now here he is with a new family and with no desire to return to his old one.
I miss you brother. Please stay Rose pleaded
"There you are Potter" A voice said and Rose turns to see Ronald Weasley sneering at her
"What's wrong Ron?" Rose asks wiping the tears from her eyes
"What's wrong? I'll tell you what's wrong! You lied to me and entered the TriWizard Tournament!" Ronald snapped
"What!? You think I entered myself in the tournament!?" Rose exclaims shocked
"Yeah we think that! We may have been distracted by the 'Sins' but it doesn't mean we will forget that you are a cheat" Dean Thomas snapped
"I didn't cheat! I didn't even want to be in the tournament!" Rose yelled angrily
"Yeah right, then how did you get in the tournament?" Ronald demanded
"I don't know!" Rose snapped
The majority of the people in the common room were either glaring at Rose or pretending that nothing was happening.
Rose looks at everyone silently pleading to everyone to believe her before turning to Hermione
"You believe me don't you?" Rose asks hopeful
"Rose, I. I don't know" Hermione says and Rose's eyes widen in shock
"See even Hermione doesn't believe you! You are a cheat and a glory hound!" Ronald stated
Rose looks at everyone shocked by their hatred and treatment of her
After everything I did for them. The Stone, The Basilisk and they still treat me like this. Rose thought as she stormed to her dorm before grabbing her things and miniaturizing them.
Once grabbing everything Rose heads down and sees everyone still looking at her with hatred, disgust or jealousy
"Yeah get out of here! You aren't a Gryffindor!" Ronald demanded, with the majority of the Gryffindors agreeing.
Rose narrowed her eyes in anger and left Gryffindor tower with her mini sized trunk in hand which none of the Gryffindors were aware of.
Walking through Hogwarts, Rose pondered on her current situation
Where will I go? Where can I stay? Rose thought before bumping into something causing her to fall to the ground
"Hey watch where you are…" Rose stops mid sentence when she sees Hadrian looking at her with a raised eyebrow
"Care to explain where you are off to in such a hurry. And with your trunk" Hadrian says curiously, noticing the miniturarized trunk in Rose's grasp.
"The Gryffindors. They… They don't believe me and think that I cheated so I can't go to Gryffindor tower to sleep so i need to find somewhere else" Rose sighed tiredly
"So what you're saying is that a large group of people think you cheated and entered the tournament of your own free will and basically just ditched you when there is a death tournament going on?" Hadrian asks
"Yes" Rose clarifies
"What the fuck" Hadrian says confused and shocked
Rose smiles a little at his reaction
Maybe he believes me. Oh who am I kidding he doesn't care about me. He wants nothing to do with me Rose thought saddened
"I hope I don't regret this" Hadrian mumbled to himself
Rose tilts her head confused upon hearing his comment
"How about you stay with us at the Boar Hat Tavern since you have nowhere else to go" Hadrian offers.
Rose smiles brightly and lunges towards Hadrian hugging him. After some time Hadrian starts to feel uncomfortable with the proximity between the two
"Uhm, you can let go now" Hadrian says awkwardly
Immediately Rose lets go with a blush on her face
"Sorry Hadrian" Rose apologizes
Hadrian sighs and shakes his head
"Forget about it, come on I'm sure you would like to get used to be around us" Hadrian says before walking off
Maybe it won't be so bad Rose thought as she followed Hadrian.
I was wrong, Rose thought as she looked at the Sins who were basically having the time of their lives.
Currently the Sins were outside the Boar Hat Tavern sitting by a campfire next to the Black Lake with the moon overhead
"Let's go" Ban yells at Meliodas as they both get ready for their arm wrestle
"This is going to be interesting" Hadrian says with a smile
"What why?" Rose asks, confused.
But before Hadrian could answer the ground cracks as both Ban and Meliodas arm wrestle
"What's going on!?" Rose exclaims as the ground begins to shake
"They are arm wrestling" Hadrian answers
"What!? This can't be them!" Rose yells in shock
"Were lucky Harry isn't doing it" Diane says standing next to Rose
"Why, what would happen?" Rose asks worried
"Since at the moment Harry is the strongest out of us physically and magically then he would cause a lot of damage" Diane answers and Rose looks at her twin brother in shock
"Yeah so what?" Hadrian shrugs
Before Rose could answer Meliodas is sent flying past Hadrian and into the wall of the Boar Hat Tavern
"I guess Ban won this one" Hadrian says cheekily
"Haha, that's 461 wins for me!" Ban yells triumphantly
"It is actually 397 wins while I won 460 times" Meliodas says walking out of the Boar Hat Tavern unfazed.
Before Ban could argue running could be heard and the Sins see Dumbledore, Mcgonagall, Moody, Snape, James and Lily running towards the group
"What was that!?" Snape demanded
"Oh those two were just arm wrestling" King says gesturing towards Ban and Meliodas
"Impossible no one could cause that type of earthquake" James protests
"Haha yeah that earthquake reminds me of the time that lady found Harry attractive, what was her name?" Ban asks hitting his head attempting to remember the ladies name
"Oh yes it was Morg-" Ban was immediately interrupted when Hadrian appeared beside Ban and kicked him in the stomach sending him flying into a nearby mountain with a loud boom and the mountain exploded sending multiple large pieces of the mountain flying in all directions.
Everyone who hadn't seen the Sins in action stared at the scene in shock as their jaw dropped upon seeing Hadrian's strength.
The silence was then interrupted when most of the Sins were laughing at the red face Hadrian had
"We will not be talking about her" Hadrian states
"Oh don't be like that Harry" Meliodas says patting him on the back
"What the hell!" The Hogwarts staff exclaim in complete shock
"You just killed your comrade!" Lily yells in shock
Just then Ban lands next to Hadrian with blood on his body which began to turn into steam and disappear from his body
"You didn't need to hit me" Ban states as he hits Hadrian on the head.
Hadrian pouts, making the Sins laugh once more.
"H-How are you alive?" Dumbledore asks shocked
"Oh, I'm immortal! Ban says calmly
Dumbledore draws his wand and aims it at Ban and the Sins draw their weapons and points it at Dumbledore
"Put your wand away or you will pay" Merlin warns as her hands glow purple
"He used dark magic to become immortal!" Dumbledore snaps
"If you don't put that wand away Dumbledore then we will kill you" Hadrian warns as Insidious is engulfed in Hellfire
The staff drew their wand and pointed it at the Sins
"You will not threaten the Headmaster" Mcgonagall demanded as she points her wand at Hadrian
"He started it so watch it" Hadrian warns
"By my calculations the chance of survival of Dumbledore's and his friends are 0.00000041%" Gowther interrupted
"Gowther your forgetting my magical power" Hadrian states
"Oh i apologize it seems I have indeed miscalculated, they have a 0.0000000000000000022% chance" Gowther fixes
"Lower your wands or we will make that incredibly low chance of survival to non existent" Hadrian warns
Elizabeth then runs to the center stopping anyone from attacking lest they hurt her
"Elizabeth, what are you doing!?" Meliodas demanded
"You are all such good people, you shouldn't be fighting" Elizabeth says with tears in her eye while the other one is covered by her white hair.
"Elizabeth they drew their wands first" Hadrian states
"I know but they thought Ban was evil" Elizabeth states
"Doesn't change the fact that they seek to hurt one of our own" Diane states angrily
"Please all of you put your weapons down and talk" Elizabeth pleads.
Everyone stood there, none willing to lower their weapons. Meliodas then sighs and lowers his weapon and soon the rest of the Sins followed by the Hogwarts staff.
"How did you become immortal" Dumbledore demanded
"It doesn't matter how he became immortal but what does matter is that you believe that we should listen to you" Meliodas states annoyed
"I am Albus Dumbledore, headmaster of Hogwarts and you are on my grounds" Dumbledore states angrily
"We didn't have a choice to come here! We are here to train Harry's sister and then we leave" Merlin states
Tears flow from Rose's eyes and she runs towards Hadrian and hugs him tightly shocking everyone
"Please don't leave me brother! I don't want you to go" Rose cries as she held onto her brother tightly refusing to let go
For the first time in many years Hadrian was well and truly complete, like he was missing a large part of himself that was just reconnected. Hadrian's twin bond with Rose has returned and is stronger than ever before.
Omake
Rose stood in the corner of the Boar Hat Tavern and watched as the Sins scolded both Hadrian and Merlin
"How could you do such things Merlin!? He was just a kid!" Diane demanded
"It wasn't that bad" Merlin pouted
"And you Hadrian, why didn't you say anything?" King asks confused
"Because I had fun" Hadrian shrugs
"But how could you! Both of you!?" Diane demands
Both Merlin and Hadrian looked at each other before looking at the Sins
"She does have a point Merlin, Harry" Meliodas says calmly
"See! I should have been involved!" Diane yells causing everyone to look at her oddly
Diane's face then turns red realizing what she just said
"Uhm, well I am" Diane stutters
Gowther then appears beside everyone scaring the crap out of them
"By her reaction there is a 172% chance that she is attracted to Hadrian and is jealous of Merlin" Gowther says emotionless
"Why 172%? Why not just 100%?" Hadrian asks confused
"I believe that she intends to go further than touching tongues" Gowther says but was soon interrupted by Diane who punched him through the wall.
"How could you do that, Gowther!?" Diane cries
Rose stares at this in shock and confusion
Is this normal!? Rose thought fearfully
Omake 2
Sitting by a campfire within the moonlight shining above the Sins laughed while eating some sausages that was cooked over the fire
The Sins then hear footsteps heading towards them.
"Hello, can you help me?" A young lady with beautiful black hair and violet eyes with an impressive body asks
"What happened?" Meliodas asks worried
"A group of Dark Mages have attacked my home and they made it their base of operations" The young lady informed the Sins
"Let's go and clear them out" Ban cheers
"Alright, what is your name anyway?" Meliodas asks curious
"Oh sorry, I'm Morgana" Morgana says with a smile on her face
"Nice to meet you Morgana, I'm Merlin" Merlin greets
Both women smile and shake the others hand
"Let's go clear out some bandits" Diane cheers
"Yeah Diane's right" King cheered in his fat form.
