The many escapades of Zarbon: Volume Two

Zarbon's earring quest (part 1)

Zarbon was following along behind Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko as the lot of them made their way along a path with lots of trees on both sides as they approached the stately manor that is located at the end of the path. "I've got to say, Tanjiro," Zarbon began, "I didn't think that you'd be up for going on another adventure immediately after the last one."

"This is a chance to recover my earrings that were mugged from me back on Black Friday," Tanjiro replied, "Or at a minimum get one step closer to getting them back." Determination entered the look on the elite Demon Slayer's face. "There was no way that I was going to pass up on going on this excursion."

"Kanabo is a true example of a man being awesome!" Inosuke declared, his arms folded over his chest as air came snorting out of the nose of his boar head mask.

Zenitsu sighed in a mildly exasperated tone over Inosuke getting the name of someone wrong again, only letting it go because Inosuke meant well. "So what will we be looking for at the manor at the end of this path?" Zenitsu asked.

"A man by the name of Henry Higgens," Tanjiro said, "He's related to the woman who mugged me. If we can talk to him, I bet that he would be a big help in recovering my earrings."

Zarbon nodded in understanding. "Sounds simple enough. So how will we go about talking to this Higgens fellow?"

"We'll start calmly, then eventually work our way to the matter of my earrings," Tanjiro explained, "Remember Zarbon, everyone, that we need to do things diplomatically here."

...

A short while later at the manor, Zarbon, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko had an early sixties balding man tied to a chair, gag in his mouth and all, when Tanjiro came upon them. "What the hell, guys?!" Tanjiro exclaimed, "I said that I wanted to do things here calm and diplomatically, but upon returning from having used the bathroom, I find that you guys have taken him hostage!"

Pointing at Nezuko, Zarbon explained to Tanjiro, "Well your sister here lost her cool when Higgens compared Zenitsu's hair to a mop head, so she attacked him and knocked him out with a punch to the face." Nezuko nodded to confirm.

"We tied him to the chair to keep him upright," Inosuke went on, "And we didn't want him screaming at us when he woke up, so we decided to gag him. One thing led to another, and... well..."

Tanjiro held up a hand to cut off further explanation. "Look, what's done is done. There's no undoing what damage has been done already, so let's just use what advantage we have here by having him in a position where he'll have to talk to and comply with us, and work towards getting my earrings back."

The elite Demon Slayer walked over to Higgens and removed the gag over his mouth. A few pats to the side of Higgens's face allowed for Tanjiro to wake the older man up. Upon waking up and coming to realize what all was going on, Higgens decided to spit right into Tanjiro's face. "Go to hell. I'd sooner die than allow thieves like you to make off with my family's fortune."

Looking at Higgens with a confused look on his face after wiping the spit away, Tanjiro remarked, "Your family's fortune? What gave you the idea that we're here for your family's fortune?"

"I... may or may not have said a thing or two implying that we're desperate for some scratch," Inosuke said.

"Damn it, Inosuke," Tanjiro swore. To Higgens, Tanjiro said, "Look, my party and I aren't here for your family's fortune, or any money in general. We're looking for leads that will help us recover a pair of earrings that are an heirloom to my family."

"Here's a photo of him wearing the earrings we're looking to try to get back for him," Zarbon said while showing Higgens a photo.

The older man who was being held hostage considered the photo for a bit before his eyes widened a bit out of surprised recognition. "Ah yes! My younger cousin got a pair of earrings exactly like that one during Black Friday last year." Looking to Tanjiro, Higgens asked, "How did she convince you to let her take them if they're an important heirloom to your family?"

"She didn't convince me," Tanjiro explained dryly, "I told her no, but she refused to take that for an answer. So she mugged them from me after knocking me over onto the floor and gave my ass such a hard pounding."

"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOO!" Zarbon cried out in aroused, sensual pleasure.

Higgens nodded in understanding. "Yeah, that sounds like her, alright. I can give you her address so you can confront her yourself and get back those family heirloom earrings if you'd like." The party, after they freed Higgens, and got what they needed, cheered in victory as they were now one step closer to achieving their goal.

Author's notes;

Here Zarbon helps the Demon Slayer crew with the first part of recovering Tanjiro's earrings that were mugged from him in the previous volume. You'll be surprised where this is going to lead. Well anyway, the next chapter will be seeing Cell and the others show up, as well as introduce Lilimon's boyfriend who was mentioned before. Take care.
