CHAPT - 5 THOR ODINSON

He was really in no mood to fight. That was a weird thing for the God of Thunder to think of, or-Odin forbid, say out loud. He was known for his love of battle. Today though? he just didn't want to fight today. Why? Because it was today which marked the fourth anniversary of Loki's fall from the Bifrost. And it pained him.

Not to mention his opponent was Loki's son, the Midgard Serpent, Jormungandr.

Yeah, he really wasn't in a fighting mood.

"Jormun-" He was hit in the back with the tail and sent flying into a wall. "-gandr" He finished with a groan.

The snake hissed back at him and he frowned. "There is no need for that language." The serpent in turn, rolled his eyes and went to strike him.

With Thor's build, he was at a weakness when it came to getting out of the way quickly. That meant that, unfortunately, a large fang pierced his leg. He growled in pain and sent Mjolnir flying towards Jormungandr's face, lightning raining down giving Thor a chance to look at his leg.

Well, the green oozing out was definitely venom. Jormungandr's venom was deadly but it spread differently for everyone. No one knew how, but some thought it had something to do with how much he hated them, the more he hated the slower and more painfully it spread.

And right now Thor thought it was pretty painful.

Now, if he was anyone else, he would've known that to slow the venom down further, he would need to calm his heart rate.

But he wasn't anyone else. He wasn't smart, that was his brother's forte, he was the brawn. So what did he do? He charged the serpent, ignoring the pain screaming in his leg.

It didn't go well.

He was thrown back, into a wall, vision going blurry. The serpent peered over him, opening it's mouth.

And then a very stern voice shouted "Jormungandr!" The two of them both turned to see Loki, arms crossed and a look that said 'Your in big trouble now boyo'. Thor was too busy fighting the venom's thrall into oblivion to say anything, so he just watched. "What, exactly, have I told you about devouring your uncle before Ragnarok?"

The serpent lowered his head to loki's eye level before hissing again. Thor was filled with grief again at what Jormungandr said.

Loki just rolled his eyes, "I am well aware of what day it is Jorm." His eyes softened in a way that was only reserved for his children. "Go back to the sea," Jormungandr's head tilted downwards in sadness. "Don't fret darling, i'll be there in time, I need to have a conversation with your idiot of an uncle first." The serpent nudged the god lightly before heading back to the water.

Loki then turned his eyes on Thor and marched over. "If I find that you are behind this battle, Thor, I will let you die this painful death." He said, gesturing to the green veins moving up his leg.

"Bro-" a cough "-ther." Thor tried. Loki sighed before reaching for his hand and transporting them to a room.

He knelt down beside Thor, irritation evident, before laying a hand on his leg. Thor gasped in pain as he felt the venom being extracted. Loki tsked, "For someone who might as well have lived for battle, you never had a high pain tolerance." The venom formed a ball the size of a fist. Loki opened the cap of a bottle and poured the venom inside.

"You called me-" He hissed when Loki poked at the wound. "Jormungandr's uncle." He finished.

Loki paused, frowning, "I don't recall my doing so. Hmm the venom must be distorting your hearing."

They were silent for a few minutes. "I'm sorry." Thor said, quietly.

Loki's demeanor was composed apart from the slight clench in his jaw. "I have no qualms with you for what happened that day Thor, only for everything before. Letting go was my choice, I simply had a realisation."

"What exactly do you mean by that brother?"

Loki stopped his seidr, leaving the wound only partially healed. There was no more split in the bone but there was still an ugly and deep wound there. "That Asgard would never accept me for who I am, and that the Allfather would always compare me to your expectations." He stood up, "The rest will heal in time." His voice was clipped, "I'm sure you can call one of your Avenger friends to collect you."

He started walking but before he could, Thor grabbed his leg, which was the wrong thing to do because Loki automatically conjured two daggers and aimed them at his injured leg. "Peace brother." Thor said, letting go.

Rolling his eyes, he relaxed his stance. "Yes?"

"Thank you Loki. And even if you will not accept it, I apologise for all the wrongs I have done to you." That was all he could say, the rest conveyed in his eyes. Loki studied him for a minute, looking for a trace of mockery or lie, before finally nodding curtly and walking out of the building.

"Loki has children?!" Tony all but shrieked.

Thor nodded. "Aye he has- had six." a pang of despair hit him at remembering Nari and Vali. Before they could ask, he went on, "I believe we were just about to read about them, yes?"

Steve blinked and opened the book, "Uh, yeah, apparently."

Tony peared over his shoulder, spluttering a second later, "I'm sorry how was Sleipnir born again? Wait- Loki's the mother?"

"Wha-" Clint tried but was interrupted by Natasha.

"He has a daughter?" Thor just kept on nodding, a smile on his lips.

"A wolf for a child?" Bruce gapped.

"Woah, that snake is big." Tony gulped. "That thing is in our sea?"

"I'm never swimming again." Clint shuddered.

"You fought it today?" Steve nodded to Thor.

"Aye. I would have died had my brother not told him to stop." Thor smiled broadly at finally realising that Loki really had saved him.

"I still can't believe he mphed a horse." Tony murmured.

"No. The horse 'mphed' him." Natasha smirked back at Tony.
