The many escapades of Zarbon: Volume Two
Zarbon becomes a classic detective
It was a dark and stormy night at the manner when Gasser, Lilimon, Nikki, Juan, and Hisoka were all gathered in the parlor room. The five of them were either standing around or sitting when Zarbon came in, dressed as a classic detective. He even had a classic detective's smoking pipe although he didn't smoke period; it was there purely to serve as a part of Zarbon's outfit.
Walking to stand in front of everyone, Zarbon said, "Oh my. Now that all of you are here, I suppose some of you are interested to learn why I had called for all of you to come here."
Holding up a hand, Nikki asked, "I don't suppose that this has something to do with that motorcycle crash outside of the nearby Shonen Mart, does it?"
Zarbon pointed commendingly at Nikki. "Indeed it does, Nikki. You see, I have been able to deduce that the culprit behind the incident..." After pausing for dramatic effect, Zarbon then gestured to all of the other people in the room as he declared, "...Is someone in this very room!"
Everyone gasped in shock, with Lilimon saying, "You think that one of us caused that motorcycle crash, Zarbon? How did you even arrive at that conclusion?"
"Deductive reasoning, my good Lilimon," Zarbon replied, "And I shall also be using deductive reasoning to determine who among you is the culprit." First turning his attention to Juan, the elite space warrior from another planet said, "Juan! It's been made apparent to me that you had some personal issues with the victim of the motorcycle crash, and what's more is that you don't have an alibi for the time of the crash!"
"Ai, it's true that I had taken umbridge with the victim, seƱior Zarbon," Juan said, "But I can assure you that I wasn't involved in their death."
Giving Juan a wry look, Zarbon replied, "Oh really? Then would you be so kind as to share with us where you were at the time of the crash?"
"At the Shonen City bodega," Juan explained, "Security footage from there will be able to prove that I was there and thus nowhere near the crash when it had taken place, if you'd like to go and check."
Zarbon saw that Juan was cleared, so he moved on to Gasser. "I've gotten it that you also had a beef with the victim of the motorcycle crash, Gasser," Zarbon stated, "And you were unaccounted for at the time of the crash. Care to share with us where you were at when the crash had taken place?"
Gesturing to Zarbon, Gasser said, "Zarbon, you know that I had been out of town from last week Wednesday up until earlier this morning, visiting my girlfriend Eunice. Hell, you even picked me up from the taxi hub so you could bring me straight here! How could I be responsible for the crash as it took place on Saturday while I was gone?"
Zarbon, with a mildly dumbfounded look on his face, remarked, "...Oh." Turning to look at Nikki, Zarbon went on with a renewed sense of determination, "And you, Nikki! I got it that you-"
"-Had my boyfriend Jonesy who was visiting from where I used to live in Canada over at the time," Nikki explained dryly, "You met him when you came over to return some Tupperware that my mom let you and Hisoka borrow when she gave you guys some of her cooking to try at home."
Nodding in agreement, Hisoka said to Zarbon, "She's got a point, dear. And I have to say, her mom's cooking was simply divine."
Zarbon nodded in agreement himself, humming a bit before saying, "Oh my, how could I possibly forget all of that?" Turning his attention over to Lilimon, Zarbon said, "As for you Lilimon, what do you have to say in your defense, hmm? You've got no alibi, and you also had a beef with the victim of the motorcycle crash! Would you be able to tell us where you were?"
"I had no beef with the crash victim," Lilimon began dryly, "It was my friend Mimi-chan's uncle. I went with her when we had heard of what had happened. Mimi-chan cried into my chest for over an hour upon learning that her uncle was killed." Arching her left eyebrow, Lilimon asked, "What makes you think that one, I'd have any beef with anyone in Mimi-chan's family, and two, that I would do anything to make Mimi-chan upset?"
Looking down in defeat, Zarbon said, "And I know where my darling Hisoka was at during the time of the crash, so he's cleared." Snapping his fingers in disappointment, Zarbon remarked, "Damn it, I was so certain of it that I had the culprit behind the incident in this room! This case must go in far deeper than what I had originally been thinking!"
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHOOOOOOOO!" Hisoka cried out in aroused, sensual pleasure, "Oh honey, I'm certain of it that something will pop up that will help to resolve the case here."
At that point, Goku Black woke up and popped up from where he had been sleeping on the floor behind the desk in the room, where no one could see him until he had popped up. Looking around at everyone in the room, Goku Black asked, "Uhh, this meeting ain't about the motorcycle crash that I had caused outside of the nearby Shonen Mart, is it?"
Author's notes;
Zarbon ought to leave the detective work to more experienced persons in the field. Anyway, Zarbon will be dabbling in the pet sitting business in the next adventure as he returns to a familiar location that he has been to before.
