Story Script

(Lincoln, Clyde, Ronnie Anne and Carl are in the Chang family members' dining room. Adelaide's trying super hard to feed Sherman his strained peas.)

Lincoln: "What's going on around here, you guys?"

Sid: "Sherman just won't eat his strained peas as usual."

Ronnie Anne: "man. that's 1 for the comic magazines. imagine a baby brother of Sid and Adelaide's refusing to eat any single food product of any single type."

Sid: "well? not so far out. there was 1 of those times when I was seven years old and Adelaide was a baby. she would have no part of the little green legumes."

Clyde: "you're kidding. right?"

Sid: "I kid you guys not. Adelaide could move a little mess of mashed carrots."

Baby Adelaide: "nummy good."

Sid (off screen): "pile on the puréed peaches."

(Baby Adelaide's eating the entire jar of puréed peaches.)

Sid (off screen): "unload the entire jar of boiled beets. but when it came right down to strained peas, she, at first, was strictly a no sale."

Baby Adelaide: "nada!"

Stanley: "you know what, Becca? our little second born daughter seems to have a much healthier appetite. I got the feeling she's gonna become quite the ballet dancer and martial arts karate fighter in the years to come."

Becca: "too bad about the strained peas as well though."

Stanley: "she still won't eat them. right? well then. we can't have that. allow big loving and caring sister, Sid to do it for her."

7 Year Old Sid: "okay, Mom and Dad. let me do it."

7 Year Old Sid (about to feed Baby Adelaide her strained peas): "open the hangar door! strained peas airline flight number zero-zero-three coming right in for the landing!"

Sid (off screen): "she hadn't yet mastered her verbal techniques. but she still managed to get her message right across."

[Fwop!]

Becca: "here, Sid. why don't we-"

7 Year Old Sid: "no, Mom and Dad. it's no problem. I can get my baby sister to eat her sweet peas. (She looks right at Baby Adelaide.) see, Adelaide? the trick is to make them super appealing. (She begins eating a little bit of Baby Adelaide's strained peas.) look. your big sister really loves them. nummy good."

Sid (off screen): "just as she recalled, her reply was Super yummy good. have more of them."

7 Year Old Sid: "blub!"

[Swop!]

[Kick!]

Sid (off screen): "I tried super hard again."

7 Year Old Sid: "I really love these sweet peas. see exactly how I really love them. yummy good. aren't you gonna try some of them?"

Sid (off screen): "and again."

Stanley: "Sid? she doesn't really need to eat sweet peas. there's always mashed yellow squash."

7 Year Old Sid: "now come on, Mom and Dad. a Chang never gives up on everything. look, Adelaide. yummy good."

Sid (off screen): "I'll just say this about my younger sister. she even hung right in there."

7 Year Old Sid: "open more baby food jars, Mom and Dad. I think I just saw her open her mouth right up. (She looks right at Baby Adelaide again.) yummy good. see how your big sister really loves sweet peas."

Sid (off screen): "'til eventually..."

7 Year Old Sid: "I think she's gonna really do it. she's gonna try 1 single bite."

Baby Adelaide: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

Sid (off screen): "that's exactly when she realized that if even the lonesome little pea was yummy good, then every single type of food was yummy good."

Baby Adelaide: "nummy good. nummy good."

Sid (off screen): "and when I was 8 years old and she was 2 years old in those days, she tried double cheeseburgers, chicken patties, meatloaf with ketchup, cooked spinach and carrots and deep dish bacon and pineapple pizzas and giant s'mores and ice cream sundaes for the very first time. but only when they were all cut and broken up in bite size pieces."

End of flashback story sequence...

Sid: "and that's exactly what my entire life was all about."

Ronnie Anne (noticing Sherman's strained peas jar empty): "Hey. what just happened to Sherman's strained peas, Adelaide?"

Adelaide: "they're already gone away, you guys. my baby brother was super interested in Sid's story sequence. he didn't even notice that he ate all of them in 1 sitting."

Sherman: [Belches A Bit]

Carl: "well. that's super thrilling. all of the Changs really love sweet peas right now."

Sid: "I wouldn't even try so say that in front of anybody."
