Rose, Mickey, Jackie and Pete's arms remained wrapped around each other for a long moment. Slowly, the other three had started crying with Rose.

In the end, Mickey drew back from the hug first. 'We should go back now,' he said. 'It'll be dark soon.'

Slowly, the Tylers broke from the embrace. Rose wiped the tears from her face, gathering her composure.

'Rose? Are you alright?' Jackie asked.

Rose breathed in heavily. 'I'm fine.' Her voice was shaky. 'Thanks. Let's go home.'

The four made their way slowly to the car. The sky was darkening above with gentle streaks of fire, glowing through the clouds. A sudden blinding streak of light seemed to pierce through the watercolor-like sky.

Rose paused with her hand on the door and took a hopeful glance back as the wind angrily blew a tornado of leaves over her head. No Time Lord. The wind was just being annoying. She sighed and got in the car, ignoring the sonic boom that was probably just a giant wave crashing against the cliffs.

She didn't realize Pete hadn't started the car until Jackie gasped.

'What's that?'

Rose looked up. Doctor? There's no way you can be here!

Smoke billowed from a hole in the earth. The ground was smashed in on a heavy impact. As the four walked closer slowly, they could see a roundish object, the size of a small truck and the shape of a puffed-up pufferfish minus the spikes. Shining metal was covered in dirt, it was clearly painted in army camouflage. A gap of glass glinted in the sunset.

'Is that...?' Pete trailed off.

'It's a spaceship!' Rose exclaimed. She restrained her hope of reuniting with the Doctor, but seeing a spaceship, just like the old times, made her feel for a moment that she was still with her Time Lord.

'It just crashed, didn't it?' Mickey moved around the edge of the freshly-made crater. 'I didn't bring any weapons. Stand back everyone, Rose, give me a hand, will you?'

Pete and Jackie squeezed each other's hands as the two prepared to jump towards the glass, before they could touch the spaceship, dirt erupted from their left, clearing out space for a door to open.

'That's better!' A young teenage blonde leapt outside and spun around like a kid in Wonderland. 'Bad Wolf! Where are we? Oh, hello.' Her straight hair was tied up in a ponytail, she wore a military utility belt and army pants.

'Bad Wolf,' Mickey whispered. 'I saw that somewhere.'

'What?' Rose looked like she wanted to decide whether to faint from fear or joy. 'That's- that's familiar, but I can't really remember.'

'And you shouldn't be.' A melodious voice rang. A woman who looked almost exactly like Rose climbed out gracefully. Unlike Rose, her hair was twisted in wild curls that reached down to her knees. Her eyes glowed in a gold light, making her face look pretty but unearthly. A tie-dyed shirt and tropical pants gave her the appearance of someone going to a Hawaii party, the image was ruined as her partying look clashed with a formal pearl necklace and tie. The woman was barefoot and had a calm look on her face like she wasn't fazed the slightest after a spaceship crash and had four people staring at her like she had two heads.

'You look like me,' Rose blurted, staring at the strangely-dressed woman, who smiled at her doppleganger.

'I should. After all.' She walked up to Rose and put her hands on her shoulders. 'You're my human sibling.'

Everyone but Mickey and the two spaceship girls' jaws dropped.

'You know her?' The ponytail girl asked. 'Since when?'

'You never told me you had twins,' Pete muttered to Jackie, gaping at the identical pair.

Jackie hit his arm. 'I didn't. A mother can clearly remember whether she had twins or not! This is- this- Rose does not have a sister! How-?'

'Ah,' the blonde woman looked over Rose's shoulder at the rest of the people. 'Is this when I'm supposed to introduce myself?'

'Yes,' the blonde teenager chirped happily. 'Go ahead.'

'Okay.' She stepped back and looked into everyone's eyes sincerely. 'This is Jenny. I'm Bad Wolf. I can tell you four know about the Doctor.'

'You know the Doctor?' Rose said. Hope lit up in her chest.

'We're looking for him,' Jenny confirmed. 'He's my dad.'

'He's what?' Jackie and Rose looked disturbed.

'Hold on.' Bad Wolf walked back over to her spaceship. Jenny had already slipped inside.

'Huh, it seems like we'll have to reboot her,' Jenny called. 'That was a wild one, the crash.'

'You sound like you've done this a lot,' Rose commented, moving towards the ship to get a better look.

'Oh, you couldn't be more right about that!' Jenny laughed. 'My own dad was said to have crashed right before he created me.'

'Created? Uh.' Mickey looked sideways at Jackie, who scowled and hit his arm, both of them and Pete blushing. 'You mean? Uh-'

'It's a long story,' Bad Wolf called, sticking her head from the door before smiling at him weirdly. 'Mickey Smith.'

'Wha- how did you? I mean-'

'Like I said, long story.' She disappeared inside the spaceship again. A series of clicks and typing noises came from inside before the two girls emerged. 'Now, Rose Tyler, don't worry, we're not criminals. But...' She turned to Jenny. 'I believe the term is "hitchhiking", right?.'

'We know about the Doctor,' Jenny offered. 'And Bad Wolf knows you for some reason. He's my father, we're trying to find him. It'll be great if you could help.'

Pete gripped Jackie's shoulder protectively, skeptical of the girls. 'Well, I can believe you about the Doctor but why're you looking for him? That's not Earth design-' he pointed at the spaceship. 'And you look exactly like Rose-' he pointed at Bad Wolf. 'And how're you his daughter?' He pointed at Jenny.

'Also,' Rose interrupted. 'The part about knowing the Doctor, he's not here.'

Bad Wolf and Jenny furrowed their brows in confusion, their cheerfulness disappearing for the first time.

'What do you mean?' Jenny asked.

Rose looked down as tears sprang in her eyes again. 'He's not in this universe. Because... we're in a parallel universe. And he doesn't exist here.'

Jenny's soaring hope hit the brakes in her heart.
