I do not own Doctor Who
According to Bad Wolf's reading-people instincts, Jenny was upset. Being a soldier, she wasn't too good when she was teaching the entity how to comfort others, but the basics were enough.
'What do you mean we're in a parallel world?' Bad Wolf asked calmly, her hand on her friend's shoulder. The four humans in front of them seemed to frown sadly. Her human sister Rose Tyler had started crying.
The man- Pete Tyler, the word popped in Bad Wolf's mind- shoulders slumped as he answered, 'That's a long story, but this is my world. Rose, Jackie and Mickey are from another universe, that must have been where you two came from.'
'What happened?' Jenny demanded. Despite the shock that showed on her face, her voice was stern and unwavering. 'How are we in a parallel universe?'
Mickey squeezed Rose's hand. Bad Wolf stowed that information away in case she needed to comfort others in the future. 'We can explain later,' he said. 'Right now your spaceship's right out in the open and the satellites in this world are more advanced than our old planet's, so you might want to hide it so the authorities don't find it.' He paused and looked back at their car. 'We drove a long way to get here, and we have to go home. I think there might be space for one more person...but not enough for two, so,' he trailed off.
Bad Wolf smiled reassuringly. 'Jenny will take that. I can take our ship. Where do you live?' Of course, she could've just used her entity powers to find the location, but Jenny had taught her it was strange to know where someone lived before they told you. "Also known as stalking," she had said.
As soon as the entity heard the address, she turned herself and the spaceship into atoms. Jenny nodded at where they had just disappeared.
'Did they just evaporate into thin air?' Jackie gasped.
'No,' Jenny said. 'They deconstructed themselves into atoms. Bad Wolf can put them both back together easily. Ever learned about the Periodic table, anyone?'
The people stared at her before walking over to their car together. During the long drive, Jenny explained how she was created from a machine that used the Doctor's DNA. The four were seemingly very composed audience when she said how she had died and lost her father when she woke up.
'After I got my ship,' she continued. 'I was searching for my father. Like I was told, he goes around saving lives and planets, so I did that too. It was easy enough, except for sometimes here and there, but in the end I still couldn't find my dad.'
'The Doctor's a hard man to find,' Mickey agreed half-jokingly.
'Yeah, that's obvious alright.' Jenny sighed before perking up to how she'd met Bad Wolf. 'I had crashed my ship in this galaxy I'd never been in. I was pretty much sucked inside; it was so strong. Then there was just... debris. Everywhere. It was so beautiful, but it was all destroyed. There weren't any planets or stars, no moons, nothing but rocks and debris. The thing was, the rubble- I could sense it. It felt- it felt like- well...'
'Like what?' Rose asked quietly.
Jenny had a strange look on her face. It looked like nostalgia. 'Home.'
The car was silent without Jenny's talking.
Jenny breathed deeply before continuing, 'And I was wandering around the empty galaxy, my lights were on to brightest but I could barely see a thing. Then there was this light. This really bright and golden light. And there was a woman in front of me- outside, smiling at me. She suddenly disappeared just like before with our ship and appeared behind me. She knew my name and, well, I thought she was an intruder, but she said she knew the Doctor. And we made an alliance and became friends.' Jenny grinned happily. 'She might act a bit strange at times, but, well, she's not human. I'm sure you four all have experiences with that. Different species talking the same language, and no, I don't mean a pirate's parrot.'
Jackie held a finger in the air like she was trying to connect dots. 'So, when you said it felt like home, you don't mean-'
'Yeah, it felt like the home of the Time Lords,' she confirmed sadly. 'Gallifrey.'
Mickey frowned. 'Wait, so if you're part Doctor, then you're a Time Lord- lord? Is it called-'
'I call myself Time Lady.'
'Yeah, that. So then is Bad Wolf a Time Lady, too?'
'No.' Jenny paused. 'Actually, she never said what she really is, she told me she's some kind of entity.'
Rose gasped. 'I remember!"
Everyone looked at her.
Rose turned to Jenny, her eyes bright with realization. 'You- that was the thing inside the T-Tardis. When the Doctor did the thing where he changed his body, that name was in my head, but it was just at the back of my mind where I couldn't remember it...' Rose paused, breathing slightly faster. 'Bad Wolf... the thing inside the Tardis. The entity inside the Time Vortex.'
Jenny cocked her head slightly. 'Time Vortex? What's a Tardis?' A stirring in her Time Lady gut made her hearts beat in strange excitement.
Rose grinned as tears rolled down her face, from sadness or happiness, Jenny couldn't help but decide it was both. 'The Doctor travelled in a Tardis,' Rose whispered, loud enough as no one else was talking and were transfixed to her words. 'There was this huge battle with this alien race and so I looked into the Time Vortex of the Tardis and the energy went inside me. I destroyed the alien race with the power. Then the Doctor did something and when I woke up, it was all gone.'
Jackie turned around to stare at her daughter. 'And when were you going to tell me about all that?'
'Sorry, mum,' Rose apologized, grinning. 'I must've forgot when he passed out right in front of you and Mickey.'
'And don't forget about all the blood control and sword fights,' Mickey added.
'You all seem to know a lot about him,' Jenny cut in. 'This could be important for finding him. Let's wait until we meet Bad Wolf again.'
The car was silent, until Pete sighed. 'Look, Jenny. We're all stuck in this universe. We can never go back to where the Doctor is.'
'How do you know?' Jenny asked.
'It's a long story,' Mickey said. 'We should be home in a few minutes, then we can explain.'
Thanks for reading!
