After what seemed like forever, Prophet spoke up, "Ronnie is right, you spoke the truth and it takes a lot of courage to do what you did, I don't think many people in your shoes would do what you did. I think some of them would have just turned their backs on him and left him to rot or faked at giving him a chance at freedom to find out his secrets, and then turn around and use them against him. When I saw you earlier just after breakfast in the training circle, I was impressed; most of the girls in our camp usually choose to work in our makeshift kitchen or tutor the younger children. Ninety percent of our guards are male, not that we don't encourage the females, its just that they feel that they can help in other ways.

Then when you nearly beat me after not being in the training circle for exceptionally long was impressive even more, only Ronnie has ever gotten close enough to defeating and here you come on your first day and you not only knock me down but take my weapon. Then when I knock you down and remove both weapons you grab the nearest one you can find and continue fighting. I have no doubt you could have and would have beat me if time hadn't been called, so for now I want you to continue training every morning and, in the afternoons, you will be in here with us going over the maps. You will be helping us not only plan for our supply runs, but showing us the best cities to do it in.

For now, I continue to have you bunk with Star's sister until we settle in our new camp and have the needed supplies for you. When your not doing either, I want you working Mystic; Fenix has a gift that can sense others that have unique gifts. Like myself, I am called Prophet because I am the one God speaks too, when we need his wisdom, I go on a vision quest. The others will show you their gifts in do time, but you will train with Mystic first and finally when I believe your ready, I will take you on a vision quest of your own. Each of them has had their own vision, it shows you what your role is to be with our family. I see you going far in our little family, I hope to be able to call you sister someday."

I sat there in shock, this was not what I was excepting at all; I was expecting to be giving a job and sent on my merry way. Not be told that I have a chance at being called Sister by the Prophet, was I worth all that? All I did was rescue Ronnie and help him find his way home, to say I was in shock wasn't true. I was in beyond shocked; I wasn't going to let either of them down; "So what do you want to know first?" I asked once I gained my composer. I heard another chuckle but this time from my right, it was Mystic "You are right Andy, she is eager to get right to work, she will fit in with us and I also will be happy to call her sister someday as well. I can't speak for all of us but you will be something to all of us someday, do not worry about that. I also believe Star might even want to start following you around, she hasn't quieted down since she stood up for herself last night."

"What do you mean she stood up for herself last night, why would she?" I asked like I was about to defend her myself. This time it was Jake who spoke up, "Star knows the rules of the camp is to keep her safe as well as other children her age and younger, so when she broke the most important rule just to make sure you were in the camp safely; she was brought before The Prophet, not Andy as she likes to call him when he takes time out to visit with the children, she stood her ground. She said nobody else was willing to go and collect you; so, she took it upon herself, knowing she would get in trouble. Don't worry to much, Andy understood why she did what she did and gave her extra chores this afternoon but also let her miss her morning classes to get the extra sleep." He said as the others nodded.

Sighing deeply, "What of her sister that she mentioned, I didn't see her last night or this morning when I woke? What does she think of Star's little defiance last night?" C.C spoke this time, "She went out the last group of runners but they returned without her late last night, we think she was caught but we don't have proof of that. We aren't saying anything to Star just yet, not until we can find her a mentor; someone she can rely on in the absence of her sister. You see their mother died just after she was born and their father was killed last year in a raid by F.E.A.R, so her sister was all that was left of her family."

Upon hearing that my heart broke, I began wondering if my presence was the reason she was taken; that F.E.A.R was going to use her a bargaining chip to get me back but then sell her off like they had planned to do with me. Now let me tell you something, I have had panic attacks all my and up until recently I haven't had one. But the thought of someone innocent girl who was only trying to help her sister survive being sold because I defied F.E.A.R and my parents drove me to have one. I started shaking and tears started rolling down my face, and then suddenly everything went black and all I could hear was Ronnie's voice. He was telling to breathe and pull back the cloud, what cloud was he talking about as I was trying to breathe, I could hear the other's talking.

"Ok new rule, don't upset Peyton, if this what happens when she gets upset, I hate to see what happens she has a handle on it finally." I could feel someone place their hands on mine and say "Peyton, focus on the sound of Ronnie's voice; clear your mind of all the racing thoughts and focus. Listen to what he has to say and the black cloud will roll away, it's an extension of yourself. Like Jinxx's fire, like the fact Andy can speak to God, its your gift; remember nobody here is going to let anything happen to you, I think it would upset Star if something happened to you. In fact, if Andy is okay with it, you will be her mentor; I think it might be best until we find out what happened to her sister."

I could hear Ronnie now speaking from the right of me, where did Jinxx go; and what did they mean this blackness was coming from me. "Where is the courage you showed when you braved getting caught to rescue me, where's courage you had when you knocked Andy on his back? Think of that and think of Star, think of all the courage you could show that little girl. You could show her that being a girl doesn't stop her from fighting and standing up for what is right." Suddenly I heard from my left, "The cloud is disappearing, that good Peyton; continue thinking of Star and the courage you showed. Remember that courage is going to help you gain a spot at our section of the table for all the meals. It will gain you a spot in section of camp and show that we chose the right mentor for Star, she is on her way here now. Don't let her see you like this; show her she was right in defending herself for you last night."

Whoever said that made a good point, they chose me to mentor someone who not only broke the rules last night to get me but stood her ground against the Prophet. This girl had the courage I just found and she had it all along just like me but finally showed it; taking a deep breathe and letting all the negativity go, I suddenly felt lighter as if the darkness that was in me was lifted. "That atta girl Peyton, it's almost gone; show that courage, show them I was right about you and that you belong here. Show them the backbone you showed in rescuing me, you can do this." I heard Ronnie's voice this time in front of me level with me, counting to ten I slowly open my eyes to his molten chocolate eyes staring right into my green.

Before I could say anything, I heard coming from behind me "I was told you wanted to see me Prophet?" in the softest of voices. It was Star and she was hear in the tent with us, I had to gain composure, I couldn't let her know I had a break down. Andy just smiled and said "Star, while your in here, you know you can call me Andy, you're not in trouble this time. Now as you might have noticed your sister is missing, right now we don't have all the details as to what happened, so until we do, we are moving you in with Peyton. Last night you showed immense courage when going out of camp and bringing her in, so since it took courage for her to bring Dragon home, I figured she can your new mentor. I still want you attending your morning classes but instead of chores you will training with her.

"I am sure you have heard by now how she almost beat me in the training circle, well I want you learning to be able to defend yourself should you find yourself away from camp no matter what time of day it is. Of course, I hope you wait until you're a bit older before leaving camp unattended again, do you agree with my decision?" I turned around to see what she was going to say, "What do you think Peyton? Am I going to in your way?" she asked shyly. Smiling I stood up and walked over, "I would be lucky to have a little sister as brave as you, so I am going to accept Andy's offer of Mentoring you. You will even sit in on my sessions with Mystic, I want you working on your studies during that time all right?" I said hoping she would agree. She just smiled and threw herself into my arms hugging me, "I was wanting to train with sticks but wasn't sure if it was allowed since I am a girl, but after I heard what you did, I knew might finally have a chance. I was wanting to wait till my sister Ember came back to ask her but when I still hadn't seen her, I was getting worried. Sometimes the older ladies say that when your ten and you have no family, they convince Prophet to send you to one of the other camps, where they don't move around all the time and can focus on just you. So, I happily accept and will follow all grounds rules that you and Prophet set for me and I promise no more leaving camp after dark." That last part she added under her breathe but I knew she meant it just the same.

"Okay I want you to go gather your things and move them into your sister's tent, just until we get can get us a more permanent tent that we set up and tear down of our own. I mean it, we will do everything ourselves and only accept help if we really need it. And if your sister comes back, we will explain it to her so she doesn't feel like you do want her in your life anymore, okay?" I added that last part knowing it would hurt her if sister thought she didn't want her around.
