A beam of red light landed behind a tree near the gymnastics facility. The facility appeared to be so much bigger and nicer than it did in the pictures that he had seen. Tommy stepped out from behind the tree and walked straight into the gym.
"Can't you do any better than that?"
"You make me sick?"
"All of you girls will train three extra hours, starting tomorrow!"
The door swung open and a group of girls began the exit the gym in a single file line. Tommy watched for a girl in pink. None of the girls made a sound and they were all trembling. Once the last girl walked out, Coach Schmidt slammed the door behind them and locked the door. Kimberly was no where to be seen.
Maybe she was in her dorm room. He followed the group of girls down a long hall and watched as they entered their dorm rooms. He walked to room 203 and knocked on the door. A girl with light brown hair opened the door and he was shocked to see that it was Shawna Hilton.
"Hi, Shawna," Tommy greeted. "I am here to see Kimberly-"
"-she isn't here," Shawna answered.
"Can you tell me where I mighty find her?" Tommy asked.
"She went to the beach because she got a note from you," Shawna replied. "You said that you were coming and wanted to her at 7:00."
"I never sent a message!" Tommy gasped as his eye brows rose. "Someone else must have sent it! Can you tell me where the beach is? I need to make sure she is okay."
"Just walk outside and take a left when you reach the Schmidt Gymnastics sign," Shawna instructed as she watched Tommy break off in a run. "Then keep going straight until you see Miami Beach sign."
Kimberly walked around looking down at her watch. It was 8:00 and he still wasn't there. She had wait for him. There was no way she was going to miss seeing Tommy. For the last few weeks she had really been home sick. Training had gotten longer and harsher. She had no time to devote to her studies and her grades were suffering. She had no time to call her friends because practice was after school and all day on the weekends. When ever she got a few minutes of free time, she always tried to call Tommy. But, he was never home.
She glanced down at her left wrist which was in a petal pink cast. Let's rewind a little bit. Just a few weeks ago, she was doing a stunt on the uneven bars and missed grabbing on to one of the bars. Her hands were all sweaty and she wasn't able to get a firm grip and she fell. As soon as she fell she hit her wrist really hard on the ground. He told her that she was a disgrace if she if she didn't train just to let her wrist heal. She told him it was her doctor's orders. He told her "Do you want to take gymnastics or not. I'm giving you week to decide what you want to do about your gymnastics career."
That week, a new girl named Shelly came in who was also trainning for the Pan Global Games. She was so much better than Kimberly. She was lighter and slimmer. And not to mention that that she was faster than Kimberly. Coach Schmidt made her sit down and watch Shelly train for few days. Just a few hours ago, she asked Coach Schmidt if she could leave practice five minutes early so she can call Tommy. He told her that Tommy probably won't want to talk to her. She asks him what he means by that. Coach Schmidt tells her that he's probably moved on and wants to date other girls. He told her that he made up his mind about her trainning. He decided that he wasn't going to waste any more time on her.
"Why Coach Schmidt?" she asked.
"You're a disgrace!" he shouted. "I shouldn't have waisted any time on you. I should have realized it when I was in Angel Grove. You were getting up leaving every time I turned around. You falling off the balance beam and hitting your head was bad enough. You even ended up in the hospital! If this occurred during an important competition it could really affect me. I'm a well-known gymnastics coach and one of the best. I can't let someone like you ruin my career!"
Those words had echoed in her brain since he told her to get out. She walked out of the gym in tears and saw a crane fly down towards her. It was carrying a message and she took it. And she immediately read it.
Kimberly,
Come to the beach at 7:00 PM so we can talk.
Love,
Tommy Oliver
She couldn't believe it, Tommy was actually coming to see her. There was no way she was going to miss this. She pulled her favorite pink pen out of her purse and wrote "I will be there!" She ran all the way to her dorm and took a quick shower. After a quick change into a pink tee shirt and a pair of dark pink denim shorts, she walked out of the bathroom. Her roommate Shawna was coming back from practice.
"Tommy's coming to see me!" She cried. "He's coming at 7:00, I have to be at the beach."
She glanced down at her watch for the second time and it was 8:05. He still wasn't there. She looked up in the air hoping she'd see a beam of red light coming shooting across the sky. Instead she saw that same crane, she saw early. This time it didn't stop. It just kept flying.
"I knew you'd be here!"
Kimberly turned around and saw a person in a black cloak.
"Who are you!" she demanded as she started to shake.
"I know who you are, Kimberly Hart," answered a cold voice. "You were once the pink ranger. And your boyfriend was the white ranger."
"How do you know that stuff!" Kimberly gasped as a drop of sweat started to run down her face. "Tell me who you are!"
Several sparks came from a wand that they had in their hand. It was coming towards and there was no way to escape.
"Look out!" cried a familiar voice.
A beam of red light appeared in front of her and the person knocked her to the ground and shielded her with their own body. It was Tommy and he was in his new zeo ranger suit. He had told her he hated having the star on his helmet. But, she thought it really made him look cute and handsome in his ranger suit.
"Who are you?" Tommy demanded as he pulled Kimberly close.
"Like I told Kimberly, I know who you are," answered the cold voice. "She was the former pink ranger and you were the former white ranger. But, now you are the red ranger."
"Tell us who you are!" Tommy and Kimberly both demanded.
"You will learn in time," remarked the cold voice. And the suddenly disappeared.
"Tommy, I am so glad to see you!" Kimberly squealed as she hugged him. "I've really missed you!"
"So, have I," Tommy answered. "Why don't I walk you back to your room."
"That would be nice if you," Kimberly replied as she took hold his hand. "Coach Schmidt kicked me off the team. We can go pack my stuff. I would love to come back to Angel Grove, but I don't have anywhere to to go."
"You could come stay at my house, " Tommy suggested, when they walked into the dorm section.
Several
Girls were walking out of their dorms carrying theirs suitcases, duffles, and bookcases.
"What is going on?" Kimberly asked when Shawna passed her.
"Didn't you hear that we are dismissed from training-"
"-why did that happen?" Kimberly interrupted.
"We don't know, Coach Schmidt disappeared without a trace," Shawna answered. "No one knows what happened to him. And we have no clues left behind."
