The purpose part 7. Reunited
Chapter 29
Five years… He wondered what Tom was doing. He asked Flamel if there was another way to communicate with wizards other than owls. *There is a few, for short distances, you can enchant the letter to fly to the person. Phoenix feathers can apparate/disapparated letters or things to the person and lastly there is the Patronus, which is usually used against dementors but can also deliver messages* Answered Nicholas. *Then how do you do the Patronus spell?* asked the prince. Nicholas chuckled and made a hand gesture . *A happy thought! My favorite…* He pointed his wand towards the sky. *Expecto Patronum* Spelled the alchemist. A cloudy giant sea turtle came out of his wand and flew around Seth making his hair move as if blown by wind. The Patronus emitted a nice white light around it. Seth was amazed by the beauty of the Patronus. *Why!? A turtle!* Half asked Seth, wondering. *Yes! Mine is a giant sea turtle, probably because I have lived so long, and I like to think I have the wisdom and intelligence of them. I wonder what yours will be, if we get a chance to see it. Do not get discouraged if you cannot do it, it is very advance magic, and since you need a very happy strong happy thought…* Explained Nicholas.
A happy thought? Nicholas had just given him the most wonderful gift he ever had! He closed his eyes and recalled the emotions he felt upon seeing the blade, which were still very fresh in his mind. The immense joy filled him, he pointed in front of him *Expecto Patronum!* A flying cloud had come out of his wand but quickly dissipated. Seth felt completely drained and fell on his knees. Throughout the years with his parents, it had happened a couple times because he had abused a lot of magic, but now? Just one spell? And not even fully done?
Flamel had grabbed Seth's arm and helped him up. *You know, I am not surprised it happened. The Patronus is the most powerful light spell and hasn't even fully been explored yet.* Said Nicholas. They apparated in their motel room and Flamel brought Seth's on the bed. *Dark, light, grey, what difference would that even make? A spell is a spell, no?* Said Seth softly, sitting on the edge of the bed. Flamel shook his head. *No, you learn about spell making and properties in year 7, so to resume, each spell has their difficulty and a tendency for dark, neutral or light. A wizard who has more affinity to the dark will have an easier way with dark spells. Although, it does not define the wizard; a simple cutting hex can prove fatal… if used to hurt, of even aguamenti could be used to drown…* Said Flamel while looking for a clean glass. There was one in the bathroom. He used his pocketknife to swiftly cut his left wrist over the glass and winced. He let his blood fill about a quarter cup before healing his wound and brought the glass to Seth. Seth looked up seeing the glass Nicholas was presenting and thanked him before gulping it down. Memories came back with full strength at the first time Seth had drank wizard blood and parts of the last five years with him talking to his parents, talking to him and seeing himself shoot the Avada Kedavra, feeling fear, no, not him, that was Flamel's memories.
*..lright? My prince?* Asked repetitively Nicholas. Seth was holding his head and had dropped the glass on the floor, spilling a few drops. Seth felt instantly better and looked at Flamel. *I'm fine. You… were, (…) scared when you saw me use the death curse in front of you? Why?* Asked the prince. Flamel opened and closed his mouth several times before answering. *I, uh, well, yes. (…) Although I should have known to not be… at the time, five years ago, I mean…* Nicholas seemed very agitated and cleared his throat. *Seth, the killing curse is not well seen from anyone, and you know it takes part of the unforgivable curses and they are not called like that lightly. I may be old and stayed with your parents for hundreds of years AND seen horrors, it was still very unsettling, that day, to see you do that.* Said Nicholas. Seth nodded and picked up the glass on the floor, cleaned it with his wand and went to put it back in the bathroom while Flamel cleaned the drops on the carpet. He then turned to look at the prince. *Why, did you ask me that?* Wondered Flamel. Seth came back from the bathroom and sat in a rocking chair by a window and crossed his legs. *I always get some flashes randomly, more when I'm drinking blood, especially wizards. They sometimes look like the future, and sometimes, the past. I guess I saw your memories just now, but also the first time I drank from a wizard's blood was you, 19 years ago.* said Seth, almost inaudibly. *So, we were saying. Is there a dark spell used for light? The same as what you told me?* Asked the prince. Flamel was still in his thoughts about what Seth told him about memories, but nonetheless shook his head. *Yes, there are, like a fire spell to warm people. Fire is known to be fueled by anger and emotions are used for elemental magic a lot.* Explained the alchemist.
Seth looked at the clock on the wall over the bed. *Is your wife coming back soon?* He asked. *They should all be back soon, she said it was only formality.*Said Flamel. *Is there an owlery close by, or like a wizard market?* Asked Seth. Flamel nodded. *Yes, I shall show you tomorrow.* In a pop, Perenelle and Seth's parents had come back without the aurors. Seth got up. *What's wrong?* He asked. Nathaniel looked really pissed and his mother, defeated. *They went back to Britain, saying they had done and seen enough, that WE have done enough and to just.. go home.* The king said moving his arms in anger. *They will deploy wizards to the places we went and mark us all.* Said Elena as if her spirit had been crushed. She sat on the bed, her hand on her face. The king turned to his son. *Seth, I hope you find a solution.* He said, hopeful. *Let's go home then.* Said Seth.
Chapter 30
V.
I am back home. Time passed. You finished school and I am sure you were the best. It seems my family will forever be under wizards authority, no matter how long we fought and what we did for them. I wish to see you again. Where are you? Seth
Seth had sent the letter to Tom with Flamel's owl back at their castle. It felt good to be home. He now had a new goal and he thought he could do it with Tom. He wanted to remove the mark on the vampires, he wanted them to be free, under his parent's reign, just like the wizards were under the ministry's laws. They didn't need the ministry!
Flamel was at his desk writing what they had done for the last years, marking history and adding to the vampire's library. Seth was thinking he could start to sire vampires, making followers that could travel with him, under his rule. Nicholas was already a part of their family and immortal, and Seth didn't know if wizards could keep their magic if he sired them, since he was a wizard himself. Then he thought about Gellert, who wouldn't matter if he did lose his magic, no one would care.
He made his way to the cells thinking about what he was about to do and had a weird feeling in his stomach. He opened the door and Gellert was still there, like he always was, reading books, laying down on his bed. He had lost weight, but seemed healthy and clean and with white clothing on, marking the prince's possession. Gellert had not realized it was Seth standing at his cell door, since it had been so long, something like 6 years. Gellert's eyes diverted to his cell door and he jumped on his feet when he saw the Prince, dropping his book on the floor, where so many others laid around. He had practically ran to the metal bars. Gellert's eyes seemed to spark with bliss and his voice was hoarse. *Come to me, please.* Whimpered Grindelwald. Seth looked at Gellert with disgust. *What have you become, Gellert?* Whispered Seth through his teeth. *Nothing without you, my prince.* Answered Gellert while trying to compose himself and backed away from his door. Seth unlocked it with a hand movement. *You are so enticing, it has been so long since your last visit, my lord.* Said Gellert and bowed his head. Seth stepped forward and was only at arm's length of Gellert. He had grown a little, probably the maximum height he would be, at 5 feet 10. He was still shorter than Gellert. Seth closed the gap between them and caressed Gellert's face with his right hand and lifted his chin and their eyes locked. *Gellert, would you die for me?* He murmured to the wizard. *I would!* had quickly responded Grindelwald. Seth smiled and grabbed the long hair behind Gellert's head and pulled him to kiss him and Gellert put his arms around Seth and pulled him closer to his body. Seth had now grabbed Gellert's head with both his hands through his hair and kissed him even more, tugging to his lips over and over. Gellert backed away with Seth in his arms and fell on his bed. He laid down and their lips parted. The prince placed himself on Gellert's groin who was already hard. Seth's tail went to Gellert's chest who suddenly got very scared. Seth chuckled and very slowly started ripping the white shirt of the wizard under him. He was not very careful and everywhere he had ripped the shirt, a bloody line was showing. Gellert had winced but had not dared move upon seeing the blade. Seth used his hands to rip the rest of the shirt and started licking Gellert's blood lovingly at the bottom of his belly and going up following the rip of his skin. Gellert moaned loudly. When the prince arrived to Grindelwald's neck, his eyes went black and he plunged his teeth in the exposed neck. A cry of immense pleasure parted from Gellert's mouth, and he held Seth's back with force.
Seth was not stopping this time, he waited until he felt Gellert's heart slowing down, on the verge of death. Then, he stopped and moved his lips to the man's ear. *Are you mine, Gellert?* purred the vampire. Seth felt the dying man's aura fading and making his last-ditch effort to speak. *Y… yes!* Choked Gellert. Seth's ears were ringing with pleasure. He used his tail to cut his left wrist and held it over Gellert's mouth. The prince's blood trickled down the man's throat. After a few seconds, Gellert's hands tried to grab Seth's wrist and bring it to his mouth, which he gladly obliged. He never thought blood letting was as addictive as drinking and Seth was losing his mind at the delectable bliss of making a vampire. The hot blanket over his heart was making him delirious. It was not only blood… he felt something else was going to Gellert and sapping his essence.
Stop it.
STOP IT!
The screaming in his head made him remove his arm from Gellert. He quickly got off the bed, healed his wrist, took a breather, and observed the man. His eyes were closed, and he was gripping his bed so strongly you could see bulging veins on his forearms, he seemed to be fighting a nightmare. His body jerked up and fangs were now visible. He let out a yell before falling back down on his bed, immobile.
Seth felt an intrusion coming to his mind and he had never experienced that before in whatever form. A faint, slow heartbeat could be heard, as if waiting for something. Seth got scared for a second before knowing he had a choice to make : accepting the new forming bond, or not. A flash of a conversation he once had growing up with his father came back. (*You don't have to accept the bond, but if you don't, you have to make sure the Childe will not be alone, at least until he masters his new entity. You know what is happening in the world right now, too many do not accept the bond and now vampires are roaming the earth and killing anyone they see* Had explained Nathaniel while talking about making vampires) Seth thought about it, Gellert would never be alone, he was made here and lives here… I'm not ready. He refused the bond, cutting the link, which made Gellert twitch and sat down abruptly, looking around frenetically as if he was suddenly alone and looking for someone. The heartbeat sound had stopped and Gellert clutched his chest in panic. He saw Seth standing beside him and calmed down a little.
What had just happened? By not accepting the bond, did he just stop his heart too? Everything was so confusing, his father said they were all dead the day they became vampires, bond or not… except for Seth since he was born. Did severing the bond remove his magic then? So many questions and possibilities to test in the future.
A loud bang brought Seth out of his thoughts. Gellert had hit the cell bars connecting to his neighbour's cell, arms through the empty spaces, wanting to draw blood. A middle-aged former vampire-slayer had been there since Gellert's imprisonment, maybe even before. Seth chuckled at the situation, my god that slayer had heard and seen so much! Seth went close to Grindelwald and gently stroke his hair. *Are you hungry, my childe?* whispered Seth. The slayer went wide-eye and tried to get further from them by squeezing in the farthest corner of his cell. Seth sneered and smoothly caressed Grindelwald's belly with his arms around him and made them apparate only one meter in front; now in the prisoner's cell. Gellert was not moving, his black eyes fixing the pitiful man on the floor. Seth licked his lips before talking *Any last words?* asked the prince. Knowing his last minutes were there, the man's eyes now showed anger and made a disgusting look at the vampires, only a trembling lip betrayed his disarray. *Fuck you, and all your kind. That man did not deserve to be a monster like you!* Replied the prisoner. Seth let go of Gellert. *Bon appétit. * said the prince. On these words, Gellert lunged at the former slayer who screamed before being lacerated and eaten. Blood spurted and flew to Seth's face. He brought a finger to his face to wipe the blood and put his finger in his mouth. A jolt of pleasure passed through the prince as he saw Gellert emptying the man.
Satisfied, Grindelwald let go of the corpse and sat down beside it, a wicked smile on his face, dripping with blood. He started laughing uncontrollably *Oh.. ah ha… ha, fuck that was good.* said Gellert. He calmed down and tried to wipe the blood with his hand but only made a mess. Seth took his wand and wanted to lend it to Gellert, to try a spell. Upon seeing the wand, Grindelwald lost his smile and shook his head. *No, my lord. That would be useless, for I have no more magic in me, I know it.* Somehow, Seth had known too. He put it back in his wand holster. *Come. You no longer have to stay here, you can roam free and servants will serve you. You cannot eat anymore prisoners without permission. And, we have to get cleaned.*
Chapter 31
Seth only had to wait for the night before a brown owl came back with Tom's answer. He quickly opened the letter.
Seth
Come to knockturn alley . I am sure you will find me. V.
Seth chuckled *Knockturn alley, really? What is he even doing there.?* Wondered Seth and patiently waited for the sunrise the next day. The next day, Seth looked at himself in the mirror. His white silvery hair arrived at the end of his back, soft like silk. You could see his pointy ears shying through his hair. He measured about 5 feet 10 inches and now wore a sleeveless white top with silver laces on the shoulders. His pants were medieval cotton, white and laced at the bottom with silver threads, embroidered with his family's sigil. His tail, now free, had paled while growing up and had a small duvet and ended with his deadly blade. He had never worn shoes except during his time at Hogwarts. To not destroy everything in his tail's path, he learned to control it with perfection but in doubt or to do certain things, like moving in a possible crowded place he would still wrap it around his waist, but no longer hiding it. His icy blue eyes were satisfied with his looks, he truly was a prince to be respected.
He apparated in diagon alley, within the floo network shop. It was still early in the morning and a few days after New year, people were still in vacation and with families. Seth made his way to knockturn alley, breathing the winter air. The snow on the ground seemed grey underneath Seth's white clothing. He had used a minor spell for his feet against the snow so it would not stick on them, although even if he forgot sometimes, he never really felt the cold anyway and never needed a coat nor did any vampires. The few wizards that saw him looked at him weirdly before ignoring him completely.
He passed through the narrow way that led to knockturn alley, brushing his fingers on the brick wall. An old lady standing at the opening hesitated to say something but Seth had a look and removed any needs for the witch to talk. He passed several shops without seeing Tom anywhere. After a few minutes walking, he felt him. Tom's aura had darkened by a thousand-fold. His essence seemed fragmented and distorted. He arrived in front of Borgin and Burkes shop and saw him working there. He had an elegant demeanor, explaining and showing something to a client. From the outside, no one could tell that man was a murderer, but Seth knew he had killed, and not only once. As the sun rays hit Seth's hair, they made eye contact.
