The purpose part 8 . Rise of Voldemort; the beginning

Chapter 32

Seth waited for Tom to finish with his client since after he would leave, Tom would be alone in the shop. The client looked wealthy and bought something he couldn't see. He left the store and a bell rang his exit. He muttered something incomprehensible and passed in front of Seth, looking at his feet and left in the morning sunlight. Seth took a deep breath and entered the store. The little bell rang again in a chime when he opened the door. When it closed, he locked it with a wandless spell with his hand. Tom was sitting cross-legged on a chair behind a counter and had his hands touching the tip of his fingers. Seth went and sat across Tom, also crossing his legs and arms, his tail was almost touching the ground but curved up and was gently moving from left to right. Tom eyed the tail then looked back at Seth.

*You are not hiding anymore?* asked Tom. His voice was still soft after all these years but lower pitched. *Not anymore, not since the day I left. Besides, muggles and wizards always assume it's a costume and the ones that know what I am are wither my family or are dead.* answered Seth which made Tom smirk. Seth looked around and shook his head. *What are you doing here, V.?* asked the prince. Tom did not answer right away as if trying to find a plausible answer for Seth. *Artifacts.* he simply responded. Seth sighed, stood up and walked to a shelf containing several artifacts, like a monkey hand. *V, I have never seen someone like you right now… I mean (…) Let me explain. I see people, like their auras and power. Flamel, for example, has a whitish yellow aura that never changed. He smells the same and perhaps, a power-grade, that did not change since at least, when I was born.* Explained Seth. He looked at a small library with dusty books. *You… look fragmented. As if you could be somewhere else too.* Continued Seth while eyeing a dark arts book titled Creatures of dark nature and how to tame them. He chuckled and opened it, his back facing Tom. His tail's blade was high behind his head, slowly moving from left to right. *It's goblin made, isn't it.* asked Tom. Seth turned his head towards Tom. His voice had darkened. *Yes. Indestructible and sharpest blade I've seen. Has also several charms on it.* Described Seth. He put back the book in the little library. *V. In the last five years, I have travelled the world. I want to go again, this time with you.* Said Seth. Tom's eyes narrowed. *I have to do one last thing today.* Said Tom. *Wait… that easily?* Asked Seth, surprised. *I am not doing this for you, Vulken. There's things I want to know, and see.* Scoffed Tom. Seth rolled his eyes and snickered. *Right.* Said Seth. *You think Yaxley and Nott would want to come?* Asked Seth. *Nott has started a family, Yaxley … I'll send an owl.* Answered Tom. *Wonderful! I'll wait for you tomorrow at my home then. You can apparate, I'll remove the ward for the day.* Said Seth and apparated away, lifting some dirt off the floor. It was time for Tom to go visit Hepzibah Smith one last time.

Chapter 33

Seth was waiting in the living room. He had told his parents what he was going to do for them, going back to the places they went and strengthened their forces and free them from the wizards there. He had also seen Gellert and he was very happy to be able to roam around freely. In a pop, Tom apparated with Yaxley directly In the living room. *Wow, nice home Vulken.* Said Yaxley while looking at the giant room. Corban had messy blond hair and they both wore black wizard robes. His eyes fell on Seth who was smirking at him, tail waving behind him. Yaxley's mouth opened and closed several times and he blushed. *Corban, after all these years, you still blush around me?* Chuckled Seth. Seth looked at Tom who radiated with dark essence and had the smell of death on him. Seth knew he had killed very recently and had done something again to his soul. He strangely wanted to taste the dark magic that surrounded his aura. Tom's face seemed to be more dark, blackish circles under his eyes and his pupils had red tint in them. Seth licked his lips and put his left hand in front of Seth and Yaxley who put theirs on Seth's hand. He looked at both of them in a serious matter. *I hope you are ready, for the world is infinite in possibilities.* Said Seth. In another pop, they were gone.

Seth wanted to start in Russia first. They arrived in a hotel dedicated to wizards, where the building was enchanted against muggles. Seth quickly reserved a room for a few days. *We are in the main city of Moscow. I have to go to the parliament, there is somewhat like a ministry. I can show you the wizarding shops close by, V. Yaxley, you can stay with me.* Said Seth. The streets were all in cobblestone and a big river separated another part of the city. Wizards were seen reading newspapers, talking or simply going to work. The shops were similar to diagon alley; wand shop, bank, food, candies, clothing or potion ingredients, divination center etc. Tom went his way as Seth took another street where the parliament was, Corban beside him. Upon entering the giant building, he spotted the creature laws and justice sign and followed directions. It must have taken them around ten minutes just to arrive to the room. A shriveled man was at a desk, writing letters. You could see boards and signs warning no violence will be tolerated on every walls. There was two centaurs talking not too far in the room, but also goblins, one troll and even a dozen house elves. A bit further away was two vampires with the ministry mark on their hands. The desk man seemed exhausted. Seth approached him and spoke Russian. *I am Seth, prince of the vampires, I demand that the wizards remove their mark on us.* Asked Seth. The man looked up and sighed. *You have to enter this form here and we should answer as soon as we can in a delay of 20 to 30 days.* answered the man who grabbed a form written vampire complaint and passed it to Seth.

Seth turned to Corban. *Now, show me what you got, Yaxley. My parents tried the civilized way all around the world, I wont!* Said Seth before changing his eyes to black. He mounted the table where the man was writing and grabbed him by the collar. He was probably innocent, and he did not care. The commotion made the creatures look at the scene. Yaxley brought out his wand, wondering what he was supposed to do. Seth pulled up the man who wasn't touching the floor anymore. *I want justice, I want freedom and it begins here!* Said Seth. *Killing me wont change anything! I'll be replaced and your kind will stay bound forever!* Said the man. The vampires had heard him and growled. Seth sliced the man's throat with his tail's blade. Blood poured out of his neck and mouth and his body got uncontrolled spasms. Seth threw the man away who crashed onto files before hitting the floor, dead. Seth looked at the other creatures in the room who were staring back at him, some in fear and others with respect. A door opened behind them and Tom entered, holding a book. Tom looked at the bloody man on the floor, then at Seth on the desk and lastly on the creatures.*You have been busy.* Said Tom. Seth had blue eyes again and jumped down. *I thought there would be reinforcements or something… they really don't care.* said Seth. He looked at the two vampires who approached him carefully. *My lord, we have been here for a while, we know who is responsible for this. Four years ago, after you passed, we thought it would be better but it did not. They forced the magical mark on our hands; at first, we thought it was just an identification and control over siring new vampires… We cannot feed on anyone without having huge pain in our brains. This has started just about a few weeks ago.* Explained the vampires in Russian. Seth connected the dots about the reason why the aurors left his parents around new years. They did not want to get killed that day. *There must be a magical device then, any idea where I could get this information?* Asked Seth angrily. The other creatures had quietly left the room while Seth and the vampires were talking, they were not ready to confront the ministry for their cause, perhaps. The two vampires looked at each other and shook their heads. *We do not know where that device would be but there is a building beneath the library, they hold weekly reunions about, well anything, actually, like politics and what not. A tall woman, red haired, brown eyes and wears glasses is the head of the creature department. If you give us a few days, we could tell you her address.* said the vampire.

Seth nodded and told them his temporary place. When they left, he transfigured the dead man into a bone and cleaned the blood. *What did they say?* Asked Yaxley. Seth was still fuming, trying to keep his calm and not ravage this town to bits. *The mark… the mark the ministry has imposed on the vampires were not just for identification purposes…*Began Seth. He concentrated on the spell he had invented on the day Flamel told him about spell making and the Patronus. His spell could apparate objects to places he wanted, as long as had visited that place first. It followed the same principles as apparating. He pointed his wand at the bone. *Locomotor Momentum.* incanted Seth and the bone disapparated. It asked so much energy out of him, he fell on one knee. *Hey, what was that? Are you okay!?* asked Yaxley and tried to help Seth up. He pushed him away and got up on his own and started walking to the door. *The mark now prevents the vampires to feed and if they do, they get unbearable pain.* Said Seth angrily and left the room.

Chapter 34

Tom had wanted to know how he made that spell and Seth gladly told him but after several failures to do so Tom had stormed away from the hotel, leaving Seth and Yaxley alone. Seth was laying on Yaxley's bed and Yaxley had his back on the wall, arms-crossed. *Vampires (…) No wonder I was so attracted to you. I now understand why you left school. The teachers barely mentioned you, I guess they never found you, nor where you lived.* Said Corban. *attracted.?* Asked the prince, who stood up and slowly walked to Yaxley. While walking to him, Seth brushed the bed slowly, closing the gap between the two. Yaxley uncrossed his arms and became nervous. Seth was now in front of him, his face about 2 inches from him. Seth's left hand caressed Corban's face, passing his thumb on his lips. *You aren't anymore?* whispered Seth. Corban blushed and looked down in embarrassment. Seth lifted Corban's chin with a finger and gazed into golden eyes. *I can make you feel things you never felt before.* Said Seth softly. He pressed his body on Yaxley, moved his head on the left and caressed his neck with his tongue and reaching his ear. He felt Corban tremble with fear. *Don't … don't kill me, please.* begged Yaxley. Shivers of pleasure went through Seth's body. *Far from my intention, Corban.* purred the Prince as his eyes went to black. He plunged his teeth in his neck, tasting the blonde's blood; sweet hazelnut. Flashes of Yaxley life went through Seth's mind; being scolded by his father, shooting spells at another student, seeing Seth making a potion with Tom and passing his hand in his hair, not seeing him in the train, Seth's empty bed at school, the joy of seeing Seth again, seeing Seth kill the man at the parliament, revealing a part of his feelings, fear of rejection.

Seth used his vampiric ability to give pleasure through his bite for Yaxley, who had been terrified right before he drank from him. A surprised moan escaped Yaxley's lips, and he grabbed Seth's back, embracing him tightly with his arms. Seth rubbed his body on him and deepened the bite, causing Yaxley to let out another scream of bliss. The young wizard did not understand how it was possible to feel so much pleasure from a vampire. As much fear he had, now he only wanted more. In complete ecstasy, Yaxley came in his pants and Seth let him fall against the wall and unto the floor, still perfectly conscious and elated. Seth stepped back, licking his lips. *Don't ever fear me again, Corban.*Said Seth. *I… I did not mean to.* Stuttered Yaxley. Seth left Corban and went to his room, turned off the lights and went to bed for the night.

Tom came back three hours after Seth was sleeping. He found Yaxley sleeping too. He had succeeded doing Seth's apparition spell, but only a book a few meters away. Earlier that day when Seth had went with Yaxley to the parliament, he had seen a suspicious book store and had found a book about lost dark arts. The book seller had been rude saying the book wasn't for sale, or that's what Tom understood but the seller changed his mind after seeing the galleons. In the book, it mentioned legilimency. Legilimency was the act of magically navigating through the many layers of a person's mind and correctly interpreting one's findings. A person who practised this art was known as a Legilimens. Muggles might call this "mind-reading", but practitioners disdained the term as naive. The opposite of Legilimency was Occlumency, which was used to shield one's mind from the invasion and influence of a Legilimens. Tom was already good at seeing liars right away, but he knew he would need someone to do that with and Seth could see through him, his secrets, that would probably be discovered by none other than him anyway. Trust. He should never trust anyone but himself! Tom looked at Seth sleeping. He couldn't help but feel attracted by his power, his immortality. If there was a way he could make that vampire his and hold him in his grasp, get his loyalty. Tom bit his tongue in frustration, and tasted blood. Seth opened his eyes; an unknown smell had woken him. In the dark, he saw Tom standing at the opened door of his room. He rose from his bed and sat. *What is that smell, did you get a perfume or something?* asked Seth. *No, bit my tongue. I need to show you something.* Said Tom. *Close the door.* said Seth. Tom closed the door and turned on the lights but with his wand he dimmed the brightness. Tom sat at the end of Seth's bed and pointed his book. *Do you know anything about legilimency?* Tom asked. Seth took a few seconds to think, then shook his head. *Not that I recall, what is it?* said Seth. *Reading someone's mind and Occlumency would be to protect yourself against a Legilimens.* answered Tom. *Interesting. I can somewhat already do that, but not with a spell. When I take blood from someone, I see flashes of their life and especially the last hours. I would guess then, if I would encounter an Occlumens, I could simply drink the truth away.* Said Seth who snickered. He instantly felt a flash of jealousy again from Tom and quickly went away. *Well, you will be a master of this I am sure, you already hide your emotions as a profession.* Said softly Seth. Tom looked at Seth with persistence as if trying to look through him. *Try it now on me, I have nothing to hide and if I hold barriers, then I'll know how to control it.* Said Seth who now held his head on his knee, ready to be spelled. Tom took his wand and pointed it at Seth, his hand seemed to tremble for a second before changing to resolute. *Legilimens! * Said Tom.

*I hear their heartbeats; they are so loud! Please, do something! * A 6-year-old Seth was holding his ears. Seth receiving his headband from Flamel. Receiving Hogwarts's letter at 22 years old. Tasting wizard's blood for the first time. Hiding in the bathroom in Hogwarts because he was losing control. Get out of my head. Torturing the ministry wizard. Get out of my head. Receiving his first kiss. GET OUT OF MY HEAD! Tom was hit with recoil and fell on the floor. Seth stood up and helped Tom get up. *Sorry, that was new for both of us.* said Seth. Tom dusted off his robe and sat on the rocking chair beside Seth's bed. *30 years old. You were already an adult when you first came at Hogwarts.* Deduced Tom. Seth sat back on the bed. *Well…*began Seth. Tom shook his head. *No matter what you did or how you did it, no wonder you were a prodigy.* Said Tom. Seth looked by the window, the night was far from over, but he had already slept enough. *You should go to sleep, I have already slept my fair share. Let's try again tomorrow, shall we?* Suggested Seth. Tom nodded and left his book on Seth's bed before leaving his room. The prince took the book and opened it to the table of contents. Among the subjects were Legilimency, Occlumency, Necromancy, Ancient magic, Animagus transformation and healing. Animagus? Now that was interesting.
