Part 2, here we go!

Darkness and Light, Into the Chaos!

Sonia was in the lab one day, reviewing some notes on a Pokémon as her own Pokémon were outside.

She had finally gotten a team put together with her Yamper and Beldum, which were now a Boltund and a Metagross. She also had Venusaur, Runerigus, Galarian Darmanitan, and Cursola.

Leon took a deep breath, one hand resting on the small box in his pocket. "You can do this, Leon. Just stick to the plan and make sure you don't get lost." he muttered to himself, knocking on the door to the lab.

Sonia heard it and walked over, answering the door. "Hey Leon."

"H-hey Sonia, us this a bad time?" the former champion asked, trying to contain his nerves.

"No, it's ok. What's up?"

"Well, I was just wondering if you were free right now? I wanted to spend some time with you today since we've both been busy the last couple weeks." Leon explained. It was true, they had both been busy with obligations over the past couple weeks.

"I'd be happy to. Should I change into something casual or fancy?"

Leon laughed. "Nothing fancy, we're not going anywhere that needs that." he assured.

"Alright. Just hold tight for a bit."

Leon smiled, nodding as she went to change. He took a breath. "I can do this. I can do this." he repeated quietly.

Sonia went to her room and took off her jacket, shoes, and long pants. She kept her sweater, but put on white short shorts, and then put her shoes back on. Leon tried not to stare as the orange haired woman came back down, but failed. Snapping out of his trance, he smiled. "Well don't you look beautiful." he said.

"Why thank you. Now then... Shall we?" Sonia asked, offering her hand.

"We shall." Leon replied, taking her hand and pressing a small kiss against her knuckles. She giggled and pecked his cheek before they head out. Leon blushed, but moved forward. 'Alright, just remember the plan.' he thought, brushing his free hand over the box in his pocket again. 'Until that moment, this'll be like just another date. Yeah, that'll work.' he thought, his nerves pulling back a bit.

She noticed he was looking nervous, but she figured he feared getting lost with her. Once they were far enough away from town, Leon grabbed the familiar PokeBall on his belt. "Charizard, I need your help." he called, releasing his Partner. Charizard appeared with a smile as Leon pet it's head. "You remember where to go?" he asked quietly. The fire lizard nodded and Leon turned to his girlfriend. "Madame?" he said with an over the top grand gesture.

She giggled at his action. "Thank you." She climbed atop the famous Fire Starter.

"Alright, let's go!" Leon urged, climbing onto his starter as it took off.

They made their way to the destination Leon had in mind. Sonia enjoyed the ride.

Charizard touched down by a lake, where a small picnic blanket was set up in advance. Leon breathed a small sigh of relief that nothing was out of place as he dismounted, offering a hand to Sonia so she could do the same.

She took his hand and stepped down. "Thank you, gentlemen." she said before giving them both a kiss on their cheeks.

Leon led her to the blanket, smiling. "Remember this spot?" he asked.

"I do. This is where you and I first met each other and became friends." Sonia said as she sat on the blanket.

Leon chuckled. "Yeah, I stumbled into your picnic with your parents." he recalled, opening the basket and smiling. No wild Pokemon had gotten into it while he was gone. "And you all had a good laugh when I fell into the lake a while later."

She giggled, remembering it fondly. "Indeed... I wish I had remembered to bring a swimsuit with me. We probably could have swam for a while. Unless you had more plans for today."

Leon nodded, pulling out some sandwiches and passing her one. "Yeah, this is only the first stop. Charizard is probably confirming the route to the next as we speak." he replied. "So let's not stop talking." he added with a chuckle.

"Alright... Oh, the fun times I've had here... This is also where I found Yamper a few years ago..."

"I remember that, you bragged about it to me for weeks." Leon chuckled.

"Speaking of Yamper... I evolved him. He's a Boltund now." she informed proudly

Leon whistled. "Not bad at all. I know he was eager for it the past month."

"Yep. And now, I have my own team. So when the next gym challenge starts up, I'll be ready." Sonia said. "But I'll worry about that when the day arrives."

Leon's eyes widened in shock. "So you're going to do it? Victor better watch out." he said. "And now I have no chance at getting my title back."

Sonia giggled. "Victor will definitely be a challenge. Especially since, in order to get to him, I have to beat my best friend and his wife, Nessa."

"A water type specialist against the toughest electric type I've ever seen. Yeah, you'll have such a challenge." he couldn't help teasing. "At least you won't earn Victor's wrath by mocking her skills."
Both shivered at the memory of the poor trainer who had made that mistake. The match had been swift and brutal.

"Yeah..." The couple resumed eating

Once they finished, Charizard touched down and nodded to it's trainer. Leon checked the time on his phone and nodded. "Alright, unless you want to spend a bit more time admiring the ocean, we can move to our next stop."

Sonia nodded, and the three took off foe their next destination.

They flew towards Spikemuth, Charizard again landing so the passengers can dismount. "We've got some time before Pier's concert starts, wanna check the place out? See how Marnie's been doing?" he suggested.

"Sure. I hear she's been cleaning up the place."

True enough, the city looked a lot cleaner while still maintaining it's punk atmosphere. Leon chuckled at seeing some Team Yell graffiti spelling out "Marnie rules!"

"She's made quite a name for herself here." Sonia said.

"That she has." Leon agreed before spotting the girl in question not too far away. "Speak of the adorable devil. Heya Marnie!" he called. She and Morpeko looked over and smiled before running over. "Heya kid, how's it going?" Leon greeted with a smile.

"Goin' well. Everythin's' been fine. It's good to see Spikemuth comin' back to life." Matnie said.

"I'll say." Leon replied with a smile, admiring the area. "The gym leader life definitely agrees with you."
Marnie would have responded, except something tackled her from behind. "Marnie! You left me behind!" a brunette girl whined while clinging to her like a baby slakoth. She looked over the punk girl's shoulder. "Oh, Hi Leon. Hi Sonia."
"Hi Gloria." Leon laughed.

"Sorry... I was called over by Leon and Sonia... So, you two on a date?"

"Yep, and it looks like you are too." Leon chuckled, making both girls blush.

Marnie's blush deepened as she said, "Aye."

Leon would have kept teasing them, but caught sight of the time. Seeing a lot of people on the street that could make travel difficult, his eyes widened. "Uh oh, we're cutting it close." he muttered. "Hey Marnie, your brother is having his concert at the same place as usual, right?" he asked.
"He is." Gloria chimed in, tightening her arms around the punk girl's waist. "We were headed over there ourselves."

So the four head over and get a good spot, waiting for the concert to start.

Leon smiled as the girls chatted. He was happy to see the punk girl with someone, and he knew Gloria well enough to know she wouldn't hurt her. He laughed at his thoughts. "I sound like a dad." he muttered humorously.

Sonia hugged Leon's arm as the lights dimmed. From there, Piers and his band took the stage, along with his signature Pokémon, Obstagoon. Leon smiled, listening to the rock music fill the air and the beautiful woman on his arm cheering.

The last song was an uncharacteristically calm and gentle one, but it was still a good one. Gloria giggled as she hugged Marnie close, pecking her in the cheek. Marnie blushed scarlet, and Leon chuckled before turning to Sonia, pressing a chaste kiss to her lips.

She of course kissed back. Soon, it was over, and everyone left. "That was fun." Sonia declared

"It sure was." Leon agreed. "But I do wonder why Piers played that last song. It wasn't his usual style." Gloria giggled.

"Perhaps he's experimenting. Since he's not the gym leader anymore, he has more time to experiment and write songs. Seems to be working for him." Sonia said.

"I can't quite remember how he came up with that song." Marnie admitted. "But he went to an outside source. That much I know for certain."

Again Gloria giggled, and Sonia took notice.

"You had something to do with it, didn't you?" Sonia asked.

"Me? No!" Gloria said, mock-offended.

Three pairs of eyes were on her. Gloria cracked. "Ok, so I asked Piers to play that song cause it was playing in the hotel when Marnie and I met." she admitted.

"Well, it made for a lovely song." Sonia said.

"It sure did." Leon agreed, patting Gloria on the shoulder with a grin and a thumbs up. "Nice one." he whispered, cause the girl to smile bashfully.

After looking around, they part ways. "Alright, one more stop." Leon muttered. Once again he summoned Charizard and mounted up after helping Sonia and they took off.
They flew back towards the lab, and for a moment Sonia thought that was the end, but Charismatic kept going, flying past the lab and off into the field where the pokemon roamed around. The route looked familiar.

"Wait... this place... You and I used to hang out here a lot, didn't we?" Sonia said as it began to click.

"Yep, in fact, it should be right around here." Leon replied. "Charizard, take us down."Charizard goes down for a landing near a tree.

Leon did as twice before, dismounting and helping Sonia down before heading around the giant oak they had landed next to. He smiled as he saw an old wooden fort, and a few pokemon running around both in and outside of it. "Still here, and in use." he chuckled.

"Yeah... And it's been kept in good shape too." Sonia noted.

"Probably because of the new residents." Leon chuckled.

Sonia giggled too. She then began to remember all the fond memories she and Leon shared in that tree house.

Leon took one last deep breath before turning to Sonia. "Sonia, I admit I didn't plan this just cause we haven't had much time together recently." he admitted. "And why I had Charizard make sure we didn't get lost."

"Oh? Why is that?" Sonia asked.

"I had something else in mind. Something I've been planning for a while now." he admitted. One hand went to his pocket. "Sonia, you've been my best friend for as long as I can remember. This fort holds so many great memories, and I wanted this to be one of them. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." Leon got on one knee, withdrawing the box and opening it. Sonia gasped as she saw the simple silver band with a small diamond inside. "Sonia, will you marry me?" Leon asked.

Sonia, unable to find the words to express her joy, responded by throwing herself onto him, hugging him tightly. "Do you have any idea how long I've wanted to hear that?! Of course, I'll marry you!"

Careful to keep the box in his hand so the pokemon didn't run off with it, he returned her embrace with a chuckle. She then looked him in the eyes. "Just... make me one promise..."

"Whatever you want, sweetheart." Leon replied.

"Don't get lost on the way to the chapel." Sonia said with a giggle.

Leon flinched, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish chuckle. "Did you have to bring that up?" he asked before glancing at the box and taking out the ring, sliding it onto his fiance's hand. "I love you, Sonia."

"I love you too Leon." she said before kissing him.

And Done! Yay! Leon and Sonia are engaged! Alright, like before, leave a review with your thoughts and I'll see you all next time!
