Started writing this pretty much after posting the last one but have seen a good amount of support for the comeback and am really grateful to all of you. You all make finding time to write and enjoy one of my favorite hobbies all the more fun.

Now, without further ado, back to the Struggles-

It was such a shift, from struggling to force himself to sleep during the previous night, to now having to constantly shake himself awake. Such was the effect of Professor Port's infamous stories. Hazy, half-awake eyes slid over to the clock on the wall.

Five more minutes of this… just. Great.

Jaune fought back a yawn as he fixed his posture and sat up straight for the fiftieth time the past hour. Anything to keep him from laying his head on his deck and passing out. It wouldn't do good on his first day back to just sleep through the day, and… A frown formed on his face as the knight's hands tightened into fists.

He did not want to run the risk of having a nightmare in the middle of class.

Anything, focus on anything other than his voice. Jaune screamed the words in his own head, his eyes sliding over to his left where Ruby currently sat, and slept. She had insisted on being next to him in case he needed anything but two minutes into Port's tale, the girl lost consciousness.

As cute as Ruby was, watching her sleep would not help him stay awake at all. It would more likely lead to him joining her in dreamland.

Moving over to glance at his right, Pyrrha sat. Her green eyes shifting every few seconds or so from Port to him. She'd been doing that since breakfast, taking peeks and glances when she thought he wasn't looking.

He could understand why though, she was scared he'd suddenly drop and go back to the hospital. Or possibly worse.

Jaune forced a weak smile onto his face as the champion's eyes shifted over to him once more, widening as they met his.

"I-I'm sorry, do you need something Jaune?" Pyrrha whispered somewhat nervously after being caught looking.

"Nope, just wanted to let you know I'm still okay." He smiled a little wider for her benefit before adding on, "Even if I feel like I'll pass out if I listen to Port any longer."

The nervousness seemed to leave his partner's form immediately, a small smile forming on her lips as she let out a short and quiet giggle. "It appears you aren't the only one who felt that way." She nodded behind him, to where Ruby was still currently snoozing.

"Oh, she's been out since the start. Honestly kinda regretting not following Ruby's lead…"

"Maybe so, but that would probably not make for the best return to classes."

"Yeah. Only reason I'm fighting so hard to stay awake now."

A hand came and rested on his shoulder, gently, very gently rubbing it. "I'm sure that-" Before Pyrrha could finish her sentence, the bell finally rung out, signaling the end of Port's class.

"Ah, I suppose we'll be forced to leave things off there. You students have a nice day and be prepared for more harrowing tales for next class." Port boasted as he watched students slowly get up, most because they had been forcibly woken up by the sound of the bell.

Jaune stood, stretching his arms and back and letting out a groan as his joints popped. He hadn't even fallen asleep like some others, but his body still felt stiff. Then again, that might just be the lasting effects of his recent injuries.

Turning his head to his left, Ruby was still lost in her dreams. Reaching down, Jaune gently shook her shoulder to try and wake the reaper without being too rough with her.

That plan got torn to shreds and burned as Yang suddenly appeared, leaning down so her face was right next to her sleeping sister's ear.

"Ruby! New weapons magazine!"

"Where?!" Silver eyes shot open and frantically glanced every which way, Ruby's body going from slumped over her desk to standing and ready to charge in less than a second. It only took another two seconds before said eyes narrowed angrily as she turned and pouted at her older sibling. "Yang-! That's not nice."

"Sorry Rubes, but it would've taken hours if I let Jaune keep trying to wake you instead."

"Jaune did?" Seeming to remember her whole reason for being sat next to him in the first place, Ruby turned to him and now her pout was pointed at him. "How could you let me sleep? What if you needed help?"

A chuckle left him, he couldn't help it. Ruby's anger made her seem more like a small angry puppy than someone genuinely enraged. "Then I'd have Pyrrha." He made a point to step to the side where he could see said redhead wave and smile from behind him. "It's okay Ruby, I know you want to make sure I'm okay and everything but you don't need to force yourself to watch me every minute of every day."

"B-But…" He could see the confliction in her eyes, see the way Ruby was struggling to find something to say to prove just how badly he needed her to watch over him. Clearly from the way she was shaking and letting out a small whine, she was not finding any reason.

"If you want to though, you can." Jaune placed one hand on Ruby's head, ruffling up her hair in an attempt to cheer her up. Then, he repeated himself just to make sure Ruby knew he was more than happy to have her watching out for him. "If you want to watch over me you can, Ruby. And I really appreciate it, but don't force yourself."

"Okay, I can agree to that." Ruby knocked the hand from her head and tried to glare at him, but her poker face fell as a smile grew on her face. "Just wake me up next time."

"Deal. Now come on, everyone wants to go eat, including me." Jaune's eyes glanced to the classroom door where Nora and Ren were currently waiting, and from the small peek of white and black he could see behind them, Weiss and Blake were waiting in the hallway.

"On it! I'll get you yummy food in a flash!" Ruby turned and made for the door, rushing quickly to get to the cafeteria. Either because she was extremely hungry, or, more likely, him saying he was hungry so she felt a need to get there as fast as possible so he could eat.

He wasn't the only one to laugh at the sight, as Yang chuckled before making her own way, at a much slower pace, out of the classroom.

"When do you think Ruby will realize she forgot to ask what I wanted her to grab me for lunch?" Jaune asked with a grin as he made his way to his friends, Pyrrha trailing behind him and laughing at his question and Ruby's actions.

"She might not till she gets to the cafeteria and has to stop running."

"C'mon Jauney! I need sustenance after such a tough battle!" Nora's yell echoed throughout the halls and classroom as she urged him to hurry up.

"What battle? You were sleeping Nora, I'd recognize your snore anywhere."

Rather than be embarrassed at being caught sleeping in class or show any remorse to it, the ginger's grin just widened. "Obviously the battle in my mind, it was so tough. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to win."

Jaune's smile came onto his face once more, the expression feeling even less forced than it had before. The more time he got to spend with his friends, dealing with their craziness, the better he felt with each passing second. As Jaune reached the door, he just leaned down to eye level with Nora, his eyes burning with the same wild fire that seemed to always burn in Nora's own.

"Did you win though?"

"Heh, of course!"

[-]

After the somewhat noisy walk to the cafeteria, Jaune appreciated the rather calm lunch their group had. Well, aside from Ruby panicking when she saw him enter the cafeteria. The reason obviously because she didn't get him food like she had said. The reason for that also obvious, she didn't have any idea what he wanted.

Of course, that problem resolved itself fairly quickly. As they all ate, Jaune let his eyes drift from Ruby who was sitting in front of him, to Pyrrha who had once more taken the seat to his right.

The conversations at the table weren't able to hold his attention very long as his eyes continued to fight to stay open. It made lunch pass by in the blink of an eye, and the class after as well.

The one after passed even faster, and soon classes for the day were over.

Unfocused blue eyes slowly came back to reality as the imaginary scenario playing out in Jaune's mind was forcefully ended. Not by himself, but by a small hand lightly tapping his right shoulder. Luckily not anywhere on his shoulder that was sore, but the tapping in such a tender area definitely made him come to.

"H-Huh? Where'd everyone go?" Jaune scanned the immediate area around him, shocked to see no Ruby, Pyrrha, or anyone else from his team still around.

"They left when the bell rang four minutes ago. I offered to stay behind since we were supposed to work on your make up work this evening." It was at the sound of the person's voice that reminded him someone had stayed behind.

"Oh, Weiss. Wait, that was supposed to be today?"

"Yes, it was on the schedule I forwarded you earlier. You told me that you would look it over."

Oh, right. He had said that. And then he completely forgot about it. Granted, after that nightmare last night and getting little to no sleep, he could barely focus or think on anything.

And suddenly those light blue eyes of Weiss' were glaring at him in a way that was all too familiar. "I suppose I shouldn't be shocked you didn't."

"Sorry. I meant to, I just had trouble sleeping last night and it ended up slipping my mind."

Her eyes clashed with his, possibly searching to see if she could see any lies in his words. Apparently she found none as she let out a sigh and shook her head. "Very well. Would you wish to do it another time then? I'd prefer to help you when you'll actually retain all the information I'll be giving you."

"Aww, so you do care Weiss."

The glare was back immediately, this time with a matching frown on the heiress' face.

"H-hehe, I'll be fine to study tonight. Just need some coffee or something." Forcing himself up from his seat, Jaune stretched his limbs once more that day. The stiffness still there in his right arm and back, but not nearly as severe as it had felt in the morning. He'd need to remind himself to stretch out well before going to bed tonight. "Is that alright?"

Weiss seemed to ponder for a moment before nodding, "That should be fine, but if you fail to keep your attention on the work then we'll cut it early."

Well, at the very least she wasn't cancelling it outright or storming off because of him trying to tease her. "Are we gonna study in your dorm or mine?"

"Neither. Ruby and Yang would be an unbearable distraction. And while I'm sure Nora wouldn't purposefully interrupt things, I would rather not run the risk." As far as reasonings went, it made sense to Jaune. Especially since he had a feeling his hyperactive teammate probably wouldn't be able to completely ignore him or Weiss while they tried to study and work on his homework.

"So where are we gonna do it?"

"The library. It's never particularly crowded so we shouldn't have any trouble finding a space to ourselves to work in." With that, Weiss turned on a dime and began walking off to the library. The movement so sudden that Jaune stumbled and almost tripped over his chair as he rushed to follow after her.

Seemed like Weiss was in a hurry to start things, or more likely, get them over with.

Jaune mentally sighed at the thought but it was really just his wishful thinking that the whole 'start over' deal would make things immediately work and be easier for the two of them to talk and be around each other.

Oh well, if time and proof that he could hold up his end of the deal was what Weiss needed, then he'd do his best to try and prove it.

How hard could it be?

[-]

Idiot. Complete and utter idiot.

That was the only thing Weiss could think as she glanced at Jaune's blank expression. He was trying to pay attention, she could see that.

The problem was that he was failing. If he was so tired, he really should have just asked to reschedule and work when he actually had the brain power to spare for it and the reading she was currently helping him go over.

"Okay. Stop."

Jaune stopped his writing and looked up at her with a confused look in his eyes, "What's up? Need to take a break?"

"No. We're done. Jaune, I'm not blind. You're barely keeping focus on what I'm saying." She saw his mouth open and a defiant glint shine in his eye as he made to refute her statement. "Jaune, who led the human army at the battle of Fort Castle?"

One of his eyes twitched as his mouth opened and closed a few times as he seemed to be fighting to find the answer somewhere in his mind. After a second, his mouth and eyes closed as he lowered his head. Clearly ashamed at having been caught out for not paying attention.

A sigh left her own lips as Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose. "Like I said before, if you're not going to be able to pay attention to what I'm saying, it's better to put this off."

A slow exhale left Jaune as he seemed to slump in his seat. "I guess you're right… Sorry to waste your time Weiss." She could tell he was bracing himself for her to snap at him, and before today, she probably would have. But now things were different, partly because of the debt she was now working to repay, but mostly because she did want to give an honest shot to that 'start over' idea of Jaune's.

"It's okay Jaune. I understand that most people would struggle to focus when losing out on a significant amount of sleep. And especially so after-." Weiss forced her mouth shut and refused to keep speaking. She almost mindlessly walked right into a topic she wanted to never have to talk about again. Unfortunately, now that she had put it in her mind, it was the only thought in her head.

Unconsciously, her eyes drifted to the boy's shoulder in an attempt to see if he still had any of the wrappings from before still on his body. Of course, she couldn't tell though, not through the shirt and blazer of Beacon's student uniform.

Luckily for her, it seemed Jaune didn't want to broach that topic again either, or perhaps just didn't realize what she had almost been about to say.

"I guess you're right. Like always." He let out a chuckle as he said that, and while his words could easily be seen as an insult, Weiss could tell he meant it honestly.

"What can I say? It's a natural gift."

"If we aren't going to study then, would you mind uh… just hanging out then?"

Weiss couldn't help feel suspicious at the question. Hanging out? Was this supposed to be some sly attempt at asking her out again while trying to avoid breaking his word to her about only being friends now?

It would seem that her skepticism showed on her face as Jaune panicked and waved his arms wildly in some weird way to keep her from turning and leaving.

"I-I don't mean anything romantic or date like, promise! I just mean, if we're gonna be friends now, it wouldn't hurt to talk and just uh…" His voice trailed off as Jaune struggled to think of what to say. His eyes shooting up along with his eyebrows as he fought to think.

His expression was so ridiculous and sudden that Weiss couldn't help the quiet and short laugh that left her at seeing it. "Calm down Jaune, I understand what you're trying to say." Honestly, it made her feel a bit more at ease too. Seeing how hard the boy sitting across from her was genuinely trying to be her friend and keep his word, it made her relax just a bit more where she stood.

Nervously, he looked up into her eyes, a hopeful expression now taking over his face. "So?"

"I suppose spending the rest of the time I had planned to help you study with you anyway won't cause any harm." Walking over to the opposite side of the table, Weiss pulled out a chair and sat across from Jaune. "Since this was your idea, do you have anything about me you want to know?"

As soon as the question left her lips, the heiress could see the gears turning in Jaune's head as he fought to come up with a question. He seemed to come up with many as his expression shifted from thoughtful, to being torn between what he wanted to ask.

"Honestly, there's a lot of things I want to ask you. How about we make a game out of it?"

A game? "How would that kind of game work?"

"Well, I ask you a question, then you ask one of me and we take turns."

Huh. A rather roundabout way that would surely lead to both of them knowing the other better. And she did know very, very little about the knight sitting across from her. There weren't many things though that felt important for her to ask, but as far as options went, making it into a game like this would probably be the least awkward one.

"Very well. I assume we have the right to refuse to answer any question we're not comfortable with?"

The blonde boy nodded his head, a grin forming on his face at hearing that she would be willing to go forward with his idea. "Of course, this is so we can get to know each other and be more comfortable around one another. It wouldn't work if you had to say something that made you uncomfortable." She nodded her head, understanding his reasons. "I guess I'll go first then."

Once more Weiss nodded, trying to relax as much as she could into the chair she was currently sitting in. A small frown came onto her face as a ball of nerves formed in her stomach. Why was she suddenly so nervous about what he'd ask?

Oh right, all the questions he's asked her in the past always were in relation to a date.

"Umm, so what's your favorite color?"

A pale blue eye twitched. "Really? That's the question you ask?"

A nervous chuckle left the boy as he rubbed the back of his head nervously, "Well, I just figured, start off with something simple and easy and work up to any big ones later."

As far as reasoning went, it made sense. "I see. I would say it would be blue."

"Wait, really?" Why was he so shocked? "It's seriously not white?"

"I am a fan of white, but there is little variation in how else you'll see the color. Blue has many different shades and many of them are very pleasing to look at."

"Ah, I think I get it." She could tell from the look on his face that he didn't at all but he was at least trying to. "So favorite shade then?"

"Isn't it supposed to be my turn now?" She asked, her eyes narrowing at him in a fake show of anger. The way he quickly clammed up under her gaze almost made her laugh. It was interesting seeing just how much Jaune reacted to something as simple as a glance.

"I guess it is, sorry."

"It's fine. To answer your additional question, it would be ocean blue." He let out a hum at that, a small smile coming to his face at her answer. Since Jaune started with a low ball, then she felt the need to return the favor with an easy question. Only she froze a second later.

What could she honestly ask him that she genuinely cared to know? Favorite color? Food? Hobby?

None of those questions were even remotely interesting to her. A brief, short memory of an overheard conversation played in her head. Weiss quickly latched onto it.

"You have siblings, correct? I remember you mentioning that during lunch once."

"Oh! Yeah, I have seven sisters." Thank whatever Gods were out there that her memory had been-… Wait, what?

Seven?

"Seven?" She couldn't hold back the tone of pure shock in her voice, and probably couldn't hide it from showing on her face. If the chuckle leaving Jaune now was anything to go by, she didn't.

"Yep, seven. Most people react that way when they first hear it too."

"Did your parents just keep trying until they had a boy?" Weiss couldn't help but ask, because she honestly couldn't imagine having that many children unless there was some underlying reason.

"No, and I know it's not cause I'm third youngest out of all of us."

A hum left Weiss as she pondered that. So that meant five sisters that were older than him, and two younger. That was still such an insane number to even think about. "I see. That's quite a large family then, must have made for an interesting childhood."

It was meant to be an offhand comment but Jaune let out a chuckle as he seemed to think back on it. "Yeah, interesting is definitely one word for it. Learned lots of useful stuff like sowing, dancing and other stuff like that because of all the older sisters though."

A small almost invisible smile played on Weiss' lips as an image of a young blonde boy being hounded by five older sisters almost made her laugh. "I believe it's your turn."

"Huh? Oh right, I already forgot about the game." A hand came to rub the back of his neck, a nervous habit that Jaune has shown for as long as Weiss could remember. "Do you have any siblings?"

Nodding, Weiss spoke, "Not as many as you, but I have an older sister and a little brother."

Seeing that was all Weiss was going to say, Jaune cracked a nervous grin, "What are they like, they uh, like you?"

"Winter, my older sister, is a huntress and an Atlas Specialist in the Atlas military. I'd say her personality and mine are similar in ways but different in others." Not that Weiss didn't try to be like Winter where she could, her older sister was her role model and her ideal for what a huntress should be.

"That's cool, I hope I get a chance to meet her someday. Is your brother aiming to become a huntsman too?"

That little smile that had been on her face while thinking of Winter died as her thoughts shifted to Whitley. How could the heiress word this in a nice way without showing how much she didn't get along with her brother? "He's… not aiming to be like me or Winter. I believe he's hoping to follow in our father's footsteps more than anything else."

Jaune nodded, but didn't speak for a moment. A contemplative expression on his face as he pondered her words. Had she accidentally showed some of her discomfort on the question? Maybe he had heard from Ruby just what kind of person her father was. If that was the case, she'd need to have a word with her partner about talking to other people about her family life. "Wouldn't that be hard though?" Jaune said, breaking his silence. "I mean, you're the heiress to the company right? So wouldn't it be impossible for it to go to your brother?"

Ah, so that's why it had taken him time to think it through. "As of now, that is correct. But things can change over time, things that may mean him taking over the SDC instead."

"Oooh. Like you choosing to be a full-time huntress and stuff like that?"

No. "Yes, things like that." She didn't want to nor did Weiss ever think she'd want to go into the details of that mess with Jaune of all people.

"Honestly, every time I think about that, it still amazes me." His muttered words were so quiet, Weiss almost missed them entirely, but she caught them.

"What do you mean?" She quirked an eyebrow as tried to figure out just what he meant.

A blush formed on his cheeks, embarrassed at having his mumbling overheard. "Well, uh. Just how talented and driven you are I guess."

That was not what she was expecting to hear at all. "Eh?" Where was this coming from?

"Just you know, you were a really talented and well-known singer before coming here to be a huntress and also in line to inherit a huge company." The honest and genuine praise coming from his words and tone threw Weiss for a loop. She was not prepared to hear this today, especially not from Jaune. "The fact you can do all of that and seem so in control and confident is just… really… amazing."

The last part of his sentence came out slowly, as his face burned an even brighter shade of red. His deep blue eyes growing wide in panic. If Weiss could guess, she had a feeling he hadn't meant to say all of that and it just poured out.

But annoyingly, his words had an affect on her as well. Her cheeks felt warmer and she was having trouble looking at Jaune's face. Why did he have to say all of those things now when it felt like their relationship was finally moving into a potentially budding friendship.

Standing up from her seat, Weiss let out a cough as she collected her things quickly. She needed to get out of this situation before Jaune said any more things that messed with her. "Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow." The heiress wasn't sure what she was thanking him for. The compliments? The time he spent with her? She honestly had no idea. Her mind was too much of a jumbled mess to think clearly.

His head snapped up to look at her in surprise as she began to turn and walk away, moving quickly to get to the door that would let her out of the library and away from the boy at the table. "H-Huh? Wait, Weiss! I'm sorry, I didn't- "

She didn't catch the end of his sentence and honestly didn't want to. All Weiss wanted in this moment was to get Jaune's words out of her head. Her legs carried her quickly through the halls of Beacon. She could still feel the heat in her cheeks and felt a small growl sound out of her throat. That idiot had actually flustered her. She'd make sure not to drop her guard around Jaune again.

Whether that was some kind of flirtation attempt or not, Weiss would not let Jaune's words get to her like this again. Not when it made her face burn and her heart beat faster.

"Stupid dolt." Weiss muttered to herself as she reached her team's dorm. Pushing the door open, Weiss stepped inside and threw the door shut with a little more force than she meant to. She was so lost in her thoughts that she hadn't even noticed the three people in the room who were staring at her.

"Study date not go well?" Yang asked, her head hanging upside-down off of her bed, lilac eyes scanning Weiss.

Weiss met her stare with one of her own, one that surely showed how little she appreciated that comment. "You know that it was not a date of any kind, Xiao-Long."

"Eh, maybe not." The brawler said, shaking her head as she flipped over and landed on her feet on the floor. "Hard to not see it as one when you come back with your face all red like that though."

The frown on Weiss' face deepened. She had rushed to get in her room so she could avoid Jaune catching up to her, and in that haste, she hadn't taken the time to let the blush on her face fade away. It didn't help that her skin was so pale. Definitely made the red in her cheeks stand out a lot more.

"Did Jaune say something that made you mad?" Ruby asked from her own bunk, head looking up from the comic book in her lap to stare at Weiss.

A breath left the heiress in a huff as she tried to calm down. Last thing she needed was any of her teammates thinking something bad had happened. "No, Ruby. He just made a few remarks that I wasn't prepared for that flustered me."

Yang's head tilted to the side. Ruby's head tilted to the side. Blake let out a sigh as she spoke up. "In translation, Jaune complimented her and made her blush." Weiss pinched the bridge of her nose and fought back the anger that began to mount up. Blake wasn't wrong, but that didn't mean it didn't bother her to hear it at the moment.

A chorus of 'oohs' left the two sisters before a knowing smirk spread across Yang's face. "Aww, I knew Jaune saving you like a knight in shining armor would thaw that heart of yours."

"I've told you time and time again, you repeating that joke over and over will not suddenly make it true."

"But you did just spend an afternoon with him, and came back blushing like you just had your first kiss."

One icy-blue eye twitched dangerously. "Shut. Up." Weiss didn't say anymore.

Apparently Yang realized she pushed a little too far as she raised her hands up in surrender with a small laugh. "Alright, alright. No need to be so defensive about it."

"Maybe if you found a new joke, I'd be less irritated." From even before Jaune woke up, Yang had been harping with the dumb idea of her 'giving her hero her favor'. By now, it really was just old and annoying to hear.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, what're you gonna do now?"

"Finish my own studies and homework for the evening after a quick shower." Even if it was a bit earlier than her usual routine, she just wanted the excuse to be away from everyone else and in a place where no one else could get to her.

Yang blew a raspberry at her before letting out a small groan. "Boring."

Weiss just rolled her eyes as she dropped her things off at her desk before going to her dresser and gathering her nightgown before entering the dorm's bathroom.

She turned on the shower but just before she could begin taking off her uniform, her scroll buzzed from her pocket. Opening it up, Weiss saw that Jaune had sent her a message.

I'm really sorry if I said something wrong or upset you. I didn't mean to. If you want to cancel the study session tomorrow afternoon as well, I'll understand.

A part of Weiss told her to ignore the message and worry about it tomorrow morning, another small part of her was pleased at seeing that he'd actually made a point to check the schedule she made. Still, the want to just ignore the issue was strong, but putting it off could lead to things being more awkward when she ran into the blonde again. Her fingers typed out a quick message.

You don't need to apologize. I just was not prepared to hear those things. There's no reason to cancel our plans tomorrow. I'll see you in class tomorrow morning.

Closing her scroll, Weiss made a point to silence any notifications. Just to ensure that the rest of her night would be plagued with more thoughts of the boy and what he had said.

Now, all she had to hope was that Yang wouldn't bring it up anymore after she finished her shower.

[-]

Someone out there had decided to spare Weiss during the previous night, but the second team RWBY headed to combat class the next morning, Yang decided to tease her again.

"Looking forward to seeing your boy back in action." An elbow poked into the heiress side as Yang gave her a smirk.

Luckily, it seemed that Ruby had realized just how annoyed the white-haired girl was growing at hearing things like that. "Yang, enough teasing."

As the blonde brawler let out a small huff before falling a little back, Weiss let out a grateful breath and turned to her partner, ready to thank her. The words got stuck in her throat at the look of fear on the silver-eyed girl's face. "Are you okay Ruby?" She asked instead, the girl had never been that scared of going to combat class before.

A nervous nod of her head was Ruby's answer before she took in a quick puff of air and stared to play with the ends of her blazer's sleeves. "Yeah. Just, nervous about Jaune."

"Why are you worried?"

"Well, it'll be his first combat class after coming out of the infirmary so I guess I'm just scared he might get called up."

"I wouldn't be worried." With a quick jog, Yang caught up to her little sister and wrapped a comforting arm around her small shoulders. "I doubt Miss G will call him up."

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Ruby smiled and seemed to lose that tense air that had been around her as they continued making their way to the class.

"He could volunteer." Blake supplied off-handedly. She clearly hadn't meant it to upset the younger girl, but Ruby immediately tensed up all over again. Apparently the dark themed girl realized her mistake right after. "I-I'm sure he won't do anything like that. Like Yang said, there's no reason to worry."

Deciding to chime in and help them all out in calming their leader down, Weiss spoke up. "Ruby, I'm sure everything will be okay. There's no way even that dolt would be as foolish as to jump right into a spar after just recovering."

Jaune wouldn't be that reckless now, would he?

Was tempted to go a bit further with this chapter, but I felt it would be better to save it all for the next chapter. Also bet some of you thought I'd take another super long time before updating again but I am a woman of my word and tried to not let it go more than two months.

Next chapter will be over combat class and with the winter holidays coming in, I'll have plenty of time to write so it might not take more than a week or two before the next chapter.

Anyways, hope you all enjoyed and look forward to more.
