Chapter 1: The dream vision
One entire afternoon, right after lunch meals, Ronnie Anne and Sid were playing Frisbee golf with 1 another in Great Lakes City park. it was just the two of them and they were trying to throw the Frisbee right past 1 another and when 1 of them threw it right past one another, she would score.
"You're really super good at it, Sid." Ronnie Anne said to her. "but you better look out. 'cause I'm gonna catch up with you!"
"don't bet on it, Ronnie Anne!" Sid replied to her. "you're never gonna never beat me!"
"oh. I won't. will I?" Ronnie Anne asks her. "we'll just see about that! you might even got more points than me. but I'm gonna top you!"
"Bring it on then!" Sid replied to her.
the two girls continued playing their game of Frisbee golf. and they finally had the exact same number of points. all of a sudden, Sid began developing aches and pains in her entire body.
Ronnie Anne saw what was happening to her best friend for life.
"Sid?" Ronnie Anne asked her while approaching her side. "are you feeling okay?"
"yowch!" Sid exclaimed out loud in pain. "terrible and horrible aches and pains."
Sid continued walking around. but super-fast. 'til she became breathless. she was coughing and wheezing uncontrollably.
"oh my word!" Ronnie Anne exclaimed to herself. "hang in there, Sid. I'm calling for an ambulance right now."
Ronnie Anne dialed 9-1-1.
The dispatcher on the other end answered: "9-1-1. what exactly is your emergency?"
Ronnie Anne answered the dispatcher, "hi there. this is Ronnie Anne Santiago. my best friend for life, Sid Chang has just developed terrible and horrible aches and pains. and right now, she's feeling breathless and she's making those crazy weird sounds. she's coughing and wheezing uncontrollably."
"where exactly are you located?"
"Great Lakes City Park."
"we're sending out for some help right away."
"thanks a bunch." Ronnie Anne said to them.
and she hung up. then she called Adelaide, Becca and Stanley (with Sherman). Adelaide answered her, "hello? Ronnie Anne?"
"Adelaide." Ronnie Anne said to Sid's younger sister. "your brave, fearless and heroic sister has just developed terrible and horrible aches and pains in her entire body. and right now she's on the ground, coughing uncontrollably. and she can't even speak."
Adelaide gasps in shock and asks out loud, "Whaaaaaat?!"
"but don't worry about it. I called for the ambulance."
"where exactly are you?" Adelaide asked her.
Ronnie Anne told Adelaide exactly what she told the 9-1-1 dispatcher and she says to her, "we just left the park. I even tried calling for help. but Sid insisted on continuing walking around. and right now, she can't even stand up.
"oh my brave, fearless and heroic sister!" the worried and concerned looking Adelaide exclaimed out loud. "Mother, Daddy, Sherman and I coming over there right away!"
right after hanging up, Ronnie Anne tells her best friend for life, "hang in there, Sid. help's on the way."
Ronnie Anne stayed right by Sid's side. then sirens could be heard and got a bit louder just as they got closer. then two emergency transportation devices can be seen. a police car and an ambulance. the police officers came right out the police car and they came right over to Ronnie Anne and the downed Sid. two paramedics came right out the ambulance. they all had Ronnie Anne back away so they can look right at Sid.
"This girl here is on borrowed time." the police lady said to them.
"she needs to get to the hospital right away." the policeman said to them.
Both paramedics ran right over to the back of the ambulance and they got the patient carrier on wheels and they brought it right out to Sid. during this time, Ronnie Anne told the fire fighters and paramedics her name and Sid's name so they would know it. then the paramedics and the police officers placed Sid right on it and they rolled her right into the back of the ambulance.
"what should I do?" Ronnie Anne asked them. "her parents and 2 siblings, Adelaide and Sherman are on their way here."
"you need to wait here for them, Ronnie Anne." another police lady said to her. "the paramedics really need to take her right now. there's not really much time. but we'll stay right here with you 'til they comes or 'til we get another telephone call."
"Okay." Ronnie Anne said to them.
The Ambulance lights flashed and the siren began blaring and the ambulance pulls away right over towards the hospital. hours later, Adelaide, Becca and Stanley (with Sherman) arrived and they saw the police car, the police officers and Ronnie Anne and they parked right behind the fire truck. they got right out and they closed the door and they came right onto the sidewalk.
"where's Sid?" Stanley asked them.
"the paramedics took her to the hospital." another policeman said to them.
"we must get over there." Becca said to them. "Ronnie Anne? you wanna come with the four of us?"
Without hesitation, Ronnie Anne answered them, "Yes. of course I do."
Ronnie Anne, Becca, Stanley (with Sherman), Adelaide and the police officers greeted one another and they left. just as Stanley was driving Becca, Adelaide, Sherman and Ronnie Anne to the hospital, Ronnie Anne called Maria (with Rico), Bobby, Rosa, Hector, Carlos, Frida, Carl, CJ, Carlitos and Carlota. and Maria answered the wireless telephone and Ronnie Anne told her that Sid had gone to the hospital and she told her exactly what just happened to her.
Sid was already in Perry-Conway Memorial hospital and she was in the emergency room. and the doctors and nurses were rushing around to try to help her out. Becca, Stanley (with Sherman), Adelaide and Ronnie Anne arrived at Perry-Conway Memorial Hospital and they asked exactly where Sid was. Adelaide also said that she was Sid's super special sister. they told her that she was in the way back. but she, Becca, Sherman or Stanley couldn't even go back over there. so they and Ronnie Anne sat right in some seats right near the entrance. the receptionist did tell the doctors and nurses that Sid's parents and 2 siblings had arrived. very soon, Ronnie Anne's entire family arrived and they saw Ronnie Anne with Becca, Stanley (with Sherman) and Adelaide and they sat right with them.
"I sure hope Sid's gonna make it out alive and kicking." Ronnie Anne said to herself.
"I really hope so as well too." the worried and concerned looking Adelaide said to her a bit tear-stricken as Frida handed Carlitos right over to Carlos and he came right by and supported her.
Dr. Lawthorne came right out into the foyer where Ronnie Anne, her entire family and the four Changs were waiting and they all stood up in his presence waiting to hear exactly what he had to say. he spoke directly to Adelaide, Becca, Stanley and Sherman.
"are you Sid's entire family?" he asked them.
"Yes." Stanley answered him. "we are."
"and who exactly are the rest of you?" Dr. Lawthorne asked them.
"I'm Ronnie Anne." Ronnie Anne said to them. "and these are my parents, my 2 brothers, my grandparents, my relatives and my cousins. I'm Sid's best friend for life."
Dr. Lawthorne cleared his throat and he said to them, "I don't even know exactly how to tell you guys this. but-"
everybody was bracing him or herself for what they were about to hear.
"Sid never made it." Dr. Lawthorne said to them.
Ronnie Anne, Becca and Stanley (except Sherman) gasped in shock. Adelaide screamed a bit. Maria (with Rico), Bobby, CJ, Carlota, Carlitos and Carl just opened their mouths without making 1 single word. Rosa, Hector, Carlos and Frida didn't open their mouths but they opened their eyes wider and they raised their eyebrows. and Carl, well? he didn't even know exactly how to react to this 'cause he didn't even yet know exactly what Dr. Lawthorne meant when he said and they quote: "Sid never made it."
"I'm terribly sorry." Dr. Lawthorne said to them "we tried exactly what we could. but Sid passed away."
"nooooooooooo!" Ronnie Anne, Becca and Stanley exclaimed out loud.
"my brave, fearless and heroic sister!" Adelaide exclaimed out loud while putting her palms right on her face.
"my best friend for life!" Ronnie Anne exclaimed out loud. "she's gone for good right now!"
"no she's not." Carl said to them. "she's right in there!"
he said that just as he was pointing his right pointer finger right towards the door that Dr. Lawthorne came right out from.
"Carl," Ronnie Anne said to him. "you don't understand. Sid just-"
Ronnie Anne stopped but her mouth remained open. Maria, Carlos, Becca, Stanley (with Sherman), Adelaide, the others and Dr. Lawthorne looked right at her.
"Sid just what?" Carl asked them.
Ronnie Anne began silently sobbing a bit just before saying to Carl, "Sid just passed away."
"oh. yeah" Carl said to her. then he said out loud, "wait. what?"
Ronnie Anne dropped right to his knee caps and she broke down sobbing silently.
"Ronnie Anne," Carl said to her. "did you say that Sid passed away?"
Ronnie Anne raised her head right towards Carl and she nodded her head and she covered her face and she was sobbing silently again. Adelaide also began crying and weeping. Carlota went right over and she snuggled up with the distraught seven year old Chang girl. and she tried consoling her as well. Bobby knelt down and he put his right arm around his now depressed and heartbroken younger sister. Dr. Lawthorne stood and looked helplessly at the grieving parents and younger sister and the now deceased Chang girl's best friend for life and her entire family.
"I wanna see my brave, fearless and heroic sister." Adelaide said to Dr. Lawthorne.
Dr. Lawthorne thought for 1 single minute and he said to her, "wait right here. let me go tell all of my colleagues in the way back that you wanna see her."
and Dr. Lawthorne went right back through the doors that he came right out to get permission for Adelaide, along with Becca, Stanley and Sherman to see her brave, fearless and heroic sister. then he came right back out and he allowed her to come right in.
"can I come in here as well too?" Ronnie Anne asked him. "Sid's my best friend for life."
"no. of course not." Dr. Lawthorne said to her. "you can't. only the girl's mother, father, younger sister and baby brother can come right in and see her. sorry to say that."
Adelaide, Becca, Stanley (with Sherman) and Dr. Lawthorne went right through the door and the door closed. a few minutes later, Adelaide can be heard crying and weeping from right in the foyer.
"What was that peculiar crying?" Carl asked them while looking a bit worried and concerned not only for Ronnie Anne but Adelaide, Becca, Stanley and Sherman as well.
"I think Adelaide just saw her brave, fearless and heroic sister." Frida said to them as to who would've said that if Carl hadn't even asked that question.
"I would say so as well too, honey cakes." Carlos said to her.
Adelaide was seen being taken by the supportive Becca and Stanley (with Sherman), especially Dr. Lawthorne who just walked her in, back out through the door more depressed, heartbroken and upset than she was right before she went in and she was still sobbing her eyes out.
"Sid, my brave fearless and heroic sister." Adelaide said to herself between sobs and weeps. "is really gone for good right now."
and she continued sobbing and weeping. Ronnie Anne, seeing and hearing her, snuggled up with her for consoling. Carlos and Frida, who was still holding Carlitos now in her arms, stood right next to 1 another. Bobby held his right arm around Maria (with Rico) just as they, along with Rosa, Hector, Carlota, CJ and Carl, watched Ronnie Anne and Adelaide. they turned right towards one another and tear drops filled up in their eyes as well too.
then Ronnie Anne went right over to her mother, 2 brothers, cousins, grandparents and relatives and she snuggled up with them, still silently sobbing her eyes out. Rosa got a bit closer to her and she looked right down at her. and she said to her, "It's gonna be okey, Ronalda."
believe this or not, Rosa had teardrops come right out her eyes as well too.
days later, at a cemetery, everybody was there for Sid's funeral ceremony: the Louds, the McBrides, Casey, Nikki, Sameer, Laird, Mr. Nakamura, Vito, Breakfast Bot and many others. Ronnie Anne was sitting right next to Adelaide. and she was being super supportive to her.
a young man in a white gown addressed the attendees.
"dearly beloved," he says, "we're all here today to celebrate the entire life of Sideria Francesca Chang."
right after he gave his speech, the other people responsible, prepared to lower the pink casket that Sid's motionless body was in, six feet, right into the ground. but Ronnie Anne couldn't even take that her best friend for life and also Clyde's one true love and Adelaide's brave, fearless and heroic sister was going right underground, never to be seen or heard from again.
"Siiiiiiiiiid! noooooooooooo!" Ronnie Anne said to Sid's soon to be grave just as she got right outta her seat and she ran right towards her best friend for life's pink casket just as she broke down. but Carlos and Frida went and grabbed her and they brought her right back to her seat. they even tried to hold her in place just as she watched Sid's pink casket disappear right into the ground and the dirt gets shoveled right back in the fill the grave hole.
"Siiiiiiiiiiiid!" Ronnie Anne yelled out loud 1 more time reaching out her right hand right towards Sid's final resting place.
in Ronnie Anne's bedroom, it turned out to be a super crazy dream vision.
"whoa. man. what a super crazy dream vision. that dream vision was when Sid passed away in the hospital and we were all at her funeral ceremony." Ronnie Anne said to herself. "but at least it's a super good thing she's still alive and kicking in real life."
and with that, she changed right into her daytime clothes, had a super good breakfast meal and she went right out the door. and thankfully, Sid was still alive and kicking in real life.
"hey, Ronnie Anne. how's it going?" Sid asked her.
"super good, Sid." Ronnie Anne said to her. "it's also super nice to see you alive and kicking. I even had a super crazy dream vision that you passed away in the hospital and Adelaide was terribly upset and heartbroken about it and we were all at your funeral ceremony."
"oh really?" Sid asked for 1 single minute. "I didn't even know Adelaide was capable of showing grief and depression."
"yeah. I know that." Ronnie Anne said to her. "she's only seven years old. but at least she and Carl are getting along super nicely."
"I agree here with you." Sid said to her. "now let's get going to the park. we wanna meet up with Lincoln, Clyde, Stella, Nikki and the others there."
and with that, Ronnie Anne and Sid walked around on their way to Great Lakes City Park to play Frisbee golf with their best friends for life and lovebirds.
