Another Twist, Another Turn

Author's Notes: Hi, readers. I would like to present a new Mighty Morphin Power Rangers fic. It is AU set during part one of "Green with Evil" and shows Tommy killing Rita not long after his first battle with the Power Rangers and taking over her empire in which he kidnaps Kim who decides to join his side after a night of passion and help him fight the remainder of the team. The idea for this fic came to mind when I wondered what could happen if Tommy killed Rita and took over her empire in which Kim joined his side after he kidnapped her. As a result, it was born. It will contain many elements from the mini-series. It starts at the end of part one and goes from there. There is no Sword of Darkness in this AU. Whether or not characters from the other two seasons will appear remains to be seen. I want to warn everyone ahead of time that this fic will have sexual content. Some of it will be intense. If you are uncomfortable with that, then I suggest you not read the chapters that contain it. Otherwise, you may read at your own risk. I hope you enjoy this fic. Constructive criticism is welcome.

Chapter 1: Dangerous Time
The midafternoon sun beamed its rays on the desert in late September. Light wind blew some sand around. A roadrunner walked across it. It broke into a run. It passed the Command Center and flapped its wings to gain flight. It squawked as it gained altitude. Another roadrunner joined it. They cawed to each other. They emitted soft squawks. They disappeared beyond the horizon, their caws echoing on the wind.
Thirty minutes had passed since the Power Rangers went to battle Goldar. Alpha was left to search for Zordon. It was very hard due to the damaged state of the Command Center. It looked like a tornado had gone through and ripped out all the wires from the consoles. He did manage to get a lock on him for a brief second. It frustrated him when he lost it, but he was determined to keep looking for him.
Alpha stood at the console before the plasma tube. He pressed many buttons while whimpering softly. He looked at the tube. He could see static from where his mentor used to be. He let out another whimper, this one being rather panicky. He turned back to the console and proceeded to press more buttons. He groaned in much frustration.
"Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi!" Alpha cried in much fear and uncertainty. "Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi! Zordon, come in! Zordon!"
Alpha let out another frustrated groan and hit the console hard. He looked toward the tube. He could see Zordon but just barely. He tilted his head as his mentor faded away once more.
"Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi!" Alpha said and shook his head rapidly. "Zordon. Oh, Zordon! Where are you?"
The Rangers teleported in behind the robot. He was startled and turned around to face them. They had panicked and uncertain expressions on their faces. Their hearts were beating so fast that it appeared they would leapt out and land on the floor any second. He raised his arms above his head.
"Alpha!" Jason said.
"Rangers, I still haven't been able to bring Zordon back," Alpha said in a panicky voice. "I have no idea where he is."
"Well, keep trying," Jason commanded in a firm voice. He swallowed hard and emitted a shuddering breath. "We need answers right now!"
"A guy in a green costume attacked our zords," Kim said, a fearful shudder coming from her.
"He was a lot tougher than any other opponent we have ever faced," Trini added while clasping her hands together. She emitted a soft whimper. "He handed our asses to us."
"He just busted right in," Zack yelled as he put his hand forward. "Do you have any idea who it was?"
"I'm sorry, Rangers, I don't," Alpha admitted sadly and began moving around in weird positions. "Oh, my."
"Alpha?" Trini asked.
"Are you okay?" Kim added and pressed her lips together.
"Damn. This doesn't appear to look good at all," Jason muttered while grabbing his hair with both hands.
Billy went behind Alpha and touched his back. He bit his lip, uncertainty appearing on his face. He looked toward the others and shook his head.
"He's still not completely recovered from the computer virus," Billy announced dejectedly.
"Damn it," Jason said with a shake of his head.
Alpha whimpered quite loudly. "Quasi-tronic circuitry now in overload, overload! Must shut down!"
Alpha shut down, his body leaning forward. Zack kicked the floor in great frustration. He threw his hands upward. He put them at his sides before curling them into fists. He clenched his teeth so tightly that it seemed they were about to break.
"This is bad news," Zack yelled angrily and turned away. He kicked the floor frustratingly again. "Man!"
"First, Zordon disappears. Then this green guy shows," Kim added as she grabbed her hair with both hands. "Damn."
"I think we only got a small sample of his true power," Jason commented honestly.
"This is all too weird," Trini added as Zack went to Jason's side.
Zack huffed. "No shit."
"Who could blame you for feeling that way, Trini?" Kim asked as she bit her lip. She shuddered in a soft way. "This feels like a nightmare and that we will wake up any minute."
"What are we going to do?" Trini asked.
"Prepare ourselves," Jason admitted and looked toward the tube along with the others. "We don't have Zordon to help us this time."
"We'll have to do it on our own," Zack added.
Jason looked away along with the others. "I think we've only made it through round one of what's about to be a major battle."
Billy pointed his finger at the Viewing Globe. "Hey, look!"
The team went to the Viewing Globe. They saw the Green Ranger laughing evilly with his hand in the air. Their bodies were shaking so much that it seemed they would not be able to stop.
"To the fall of the Power Rangers!" the Green Ranger yelled in determination. "I'll destroy you once and for all!"
The team cringed badly as the Green Ranger laughed once more. They couldn't believe their new enemy was a Power Ranger. Moreover, they could not understand why Zordon kept the existence of a sixth Power Coin secret from them. They had thought he told them everything about the Power. They realized they were wrong when their opponent attacked them.
"I don't want to watch anymore," Kim growled in disgust and walked over to the console before the tube.
"No one blames you, Kim," Trini said as she came to her best friend's side. The other Rangers joined them. "We don't want to watch anymore either."
"I can't help but wonder what happened to Tommy," Kim said, a shudder leaving her mouth. "I hope he is okay."
"We all do, but we can't worry about him right now," Jason said, seriousness lining his voice. "We need to get that virus out of Alpha's system and locate Zordon."
"Jason's right," Billy agreed. "The sooner we get things rolling, the sooner we can find Zordon."
"I know," Kim said, nodding slowly. "Still, I wish Tommy—"
"We know," Jason whispered in a gentle voice. "It's okay. We will find out why he never showed for the study date eventually. For now, let's focus on our situation."
"Okay," Kim said and emitted a soft sniffle. "Let's get the ball rolling."
"I will grab my tools to get the virus out of Alpha's system," Billy commented while jerking his thumb over his shoulder.
"I will help you," Trini said while running her nose. "Let's go. Time is wasting away."
Billy and Trini rushed off. Jason, Zack, and Kim looked at each other, their eyebrows raising. She clasped her hands together before running her tongue all over the inside of her mouth.
"I hope to God that Billy can get that virus out of Alpha. We need him to help us find Zordon," Kim whispered uncertainly.
"I know. Zordon isn't our only mentor. Alpha is too," Jason said matter-of-factly.
"He seems like a kid at times, but he is very wise. He is very smart too. He is programmed to think after all," Zack added.
Jason, Zack, and Kim looked up at the tube. They focused their attention on the static. They hoped it would not take long for Billy to get the virus out of Alpha. They wanted to find answers about the Green Ranger as soon as possible.
