Chapter 2: Feeling Quite Happy

Rita stood on top of the Lunar Palace's balcony stairs as she stared down at everyone. She had a big smile on her face. Goldar and Tommy stood together. Squatt and Baboo happened to be close to them. They emitted garbles and gibbers. Finster was in front of them with his hands clasped together. His ears twitched somewhat along with his nose.

"Tommy, I am very proud of you. You really kicked the Rangers' asses!" Rita shrieked in great excitement.

"That was a lot of aggression you showed, my friend!" Goldar commented while patting the Green Ranger's shoulder.

"I had a lot of fun using it, my empress," Tommy responded, happiness lining his voice. "Let's not forget Goldar showed a lot of aggression when he pummeled the Megazord."

"I can't argue with that," Baboo said gleefully while clapping multiple times.

"Me neither!" Squatt yelled as he jumped into the air. He landed gracefully with a laugh. "Wow. I landed."

"If you jumped any higher, you would've hit the ceiling," Baboo said, pointing his finger upward.

"Yeah," Squatt said, touching the top of his head with both hands. "I would have gotten a headache like Rita."

Rita rolled her eyes as Squatt snickered under his breath. She didn't like it when anyone made comments about her getting headaches. She was grateful to Finster for having a steady supply of aspirin to ease them. Of course, they didn't always work.

"I have to say there is nothing better than smoked wire in the afternoon!" Tommy said and chuckled very sinisterly.

"Wait a minute, Green Ranger. That happens to be my line," Goldar joked as he eyed him.

Tommy turned to him and raised his eyebrows. "I am sorry. I just had to say it. I guess I should print it across your forehead to signify that you own it."

The Green Ranger snickered under his breath while Goldar waved him off with a snort. They moved their heads from side to side in which they stretched their necks. They shifted their attention toward Rita. Squatt and Baboo clasped their hands together. Gibbers and garbles left their mouths.

"Goldar and I may have had fun pummeling the Rangers and their zords, but we regret we couldn't do more," Tommy mumbled while lowering his head in shame.

"Do not fret, my Green Ranger. You'll have another chance to do that," Rita said as she walked down the stairs. She approached the group. "After all, what's another day to cause mayhem?"

Tommy looked up and expressed much confidence. "That's right! I can't wait until we cause more mayhem!"

Rita laughed happily. "Great!"

Tommy gave his empress a thumbs-up and winked at her. She nodded at him with a big smile on her face. Goldar ruffled his comrade's hair. Tommy swatted his hand aside. He shook his finger at him. He mock-glared him, his teeth clenching somewhat.

"If you ruffle my hair again, I will make you pay for it," Tommy threatened playfully.

"How? Will you tear my hand off and make me eat?" Goldar asked while crossing his arms.

"Something like that," Tommy said and wiggled his eyebrows.

"Try it," Goldar responded with a soft growl.

"Nah. Maybe some other time," Tommy said, shaking his head in a rapid way.

"What are you, chicken?" Goldar taunted and made clucking sounds while folding his arms underneath his armpits and flapping them as if they were wings.

"I am not the chicken," Tommy said with much pride. "You are."

"That's what you think," Goldar said as he stopped flapping his arms. He unfolded them to place his hands on his sides. "Let's see if you are up for this Three Stooges routine."

Goldar waved his hand in front of Tommy's face. He moved it upward and jerked it downward in a rapid motion. Tommy smacked him in the cheek. Goldar rushed two fingers forward, only to be blocked by his friend putting his hand between his eyes sideways. He pushed it downward. They emitted soft laughs.

"It's nice to know you like The Three Stooges, Goldar," Tommy said, warmth echoing from his voice.

"I watch them a lot through the Repulsascope," Goldar admitted with much pride.

"Don't show too much pride, Goldar," Baboo said, shaking his finger at the golden warrior. "It will come back and bite you on the ass."

"Whatever," Goldar said as he waved the dimwit off. "Anyway, you will know Squatt has been watching too much of The Simpsons if you hear him say 'D'oh' a lot."

Squatt let out a soft chuckle. "What can I say? I love that line of Homer Simpson's. He is so funny when he says it."

"It sure is," Baboo agreed.

"All right, that is enough," Rita said, waving her hands in the air. She glanced at Tommy. "I am sure you are hungry, Tommy."

"Not really, my empress," Tommy commented with a shake of his head.

"I will let you know that I have plenty of fruit for you to eat if you ever want a snack here," Finster said, looking at him.

Tommy nodded. "Thank you, Finster."

Finster held up his hands. "I better go to my lab and make some monsters."

Finster turned around and walked out of the throne room. He snapped his fingers while singing nonsense. Everyone looked at each other, his or her brows furrowing. Tommy scratched the back of his neck.

"I can't help but wonder how many monsters Finster has made throughout his lifetime," Tommy said in much curiosity.

"He has made so many monsters that we have lost count," Rita replied and cleared her throat. "I would like for you to go rest, Tommy. The living room has a long couch you can lay on. It is just four doors down from here. It is on the right."

"Thank you, my empress," Tommy said and bowed respectfully to her. "I will see you later."

Tommy walked away and rubbed his hands together. Goldar, Squatt, Baboo, and Rita watched him until he was gone. They looked at each other. Baboo snorted to himself.

"It's great that we finally scored a victory, my queen," Goldar said in happiness.

"We may have scored a victory, but you shouldn't forget all the times you have failed me," Rita growled as she pointed her finger at him.

Goldar shook his head. "Of course not. I hope that the Rangers won't find out that Tommy is—"

"Don't say it, Goldar," Rita warned in a fierce voice.

"I was just saying—" Goldar started.

"I said shut up!" Rita screeched and smacked him in the head with her wand. "When I say be quiet, I mean it, you little dweeb! Is that clear?"

"Loud and clear, ma'am!" Goldar said, standing at attention and saluting her.

Rita rolled her eyes. "There is no need to salute me."

"I was just being respectful. I wish you would not hit me with that wand," Goldar said seriously. "I hate it when you do."

"Then don't make stupid comments, you idiot," Rita responded angrily.

"All right," Goldar assured.

She nodded at him. "Good. Anyway, I am so glad I was finally able to find someone worthy of wielding the Green Power Coin. Because Tommy was new in town, he was easy pickings for me. The Rangers—"

As Rita continued to talk, Tommy was watching from the doorway. He had witnessed her yelling at Goldar and hitting him with her wand. He huffed angrily as he felt the golden warrior didn't deserve that. He understood Goldar was prone to making mistakes as the latter told him not long after he tore up the Command Center. He was aware many failures had to happen before success could be achieved.

Tommy formed an evil smile on his face as he began forming a plan in his mind. He decided he would kill Rita and take over her empire. He felt he could do a much better job of leading her troops to victory. He recalled he had to act as a leader to his friends back in Houston when they got lost in the wilderness on several camping trips. His knowledge of living off the land helped to keep them from going hungry and thirsty. He learned his survival skills from his uncle John. His parents, Joey and Kristi, were constantly fighting with each other. He would rather be around John than he would them. He was glad they were staying with a neighbor, Johnathan Mosey, for the weekend.

His thoughts shifted to Goldar, Squatt, Baboo, and Finster. He remembered them telling him that Rita didn't give them much respect, even when they won battles against the Power Rangers. He was determined to give them that as he saw each of them had their own unique abilities. He wanted them to use said abilities to their fullest.

He started thinking about the Power Rangers. He wanted to crush them badly, yet he knew he needed to wait until it was a good time to strike. He considered rushing into situations to be the worst thing anyone could ever do. He knew the opponent could easily catch him and his soon-to-be troops off-guard and pummel them badly. He wasn't about to jump into a situation he was not prepared for.

He began to think about Kim. His heart began to beat fast as he remembered their first encounter with each other. He had desired her since he laid eyes on her. He could feel his desire for her increasing by the minute. He wanted her with him. He decided he would kidnap her and bring her here after he carried out his plan. He was determined to seduce her into being sexually intimate with him. He thought tonight would be a good time to grab her as it was Friday night. He knew no one would notice she was missing as Squatt told him her parents, Matt and Caroline, were on vacation in San Francisco until Monday. The only ones who would notice would be her teammates.

Tommy shook his thoughts out of his head. He pulled away from the doorway and placed his back against the wall. He didn't want Rita or anyone else to catch him. He remembered the weapons room Goldar showed him just before they carried out their attack on the Rangers. He decided he would get a dagger from it and hide it in his pants. He hoped Rita wouldn't be much longer as he had to get her alone, so he could get her. He headed left while snapping his fingers.
