Chapter 5
The remnants of the silver hand that surrounded the now freed companions stormed forward anger and rage filling their hearts. Not only were the companions released from their prisons. Not only were there dead members dead on the ground. But a vampire joining the companions in the fight. "may I have this dance?" Martin smirked at Aela causing her to blush. "only if you can keep up blood breath." As the whole chamber filled with the sound of steel against steel howls from Farkas and Vilkas now in their werewolf forms Martin got behind Aela back to back as the two moved in swift and sync in the battle.
Despite the two being separated for so long they still knew each others movements and fighting styles. "just so you know Aela I never drank anyone else blood. Except the forbear who gave me my wolf form." Aela took a moment to look at Martin who had the same smirk he was famous for. "yet you got rid of it. And took on the powers of a vampire?" she asked slightly hurt as she took a slash at an assailants throat. "ill explain everything when were out of here." Martin replied as with his katana in one hand and moon fang in the other.
The last of the silver hand aimed an arrow at Njada before she could react Martin let out a shout. "Tiid Klo Ul!" at that instant he stood in front of her the arrow no longer airborne but pierced through the archers throat. He looked back at the nord woman. "now were even." She collapsed awestruck as the others realizing that he must've used the thuum. The others ran to Martin all lost for words seeing him again. Vilkas brought him into a hug. "we missed you friend." Aela as well as the others surrounded him smiles all around.
Martin turned to see Farkas holding his arm injured. As Martin walked towards him he looked up then down. "Martin,...i just…" Martin raised his hands as a glowing light surrounded Farkas. "you're OK Farkas of all the companions you had my back that night. I cant thank you enough." Njada went for her dagger only for Vilkas to stand in front of her. "stand down runt. Unless you wish to join the silver hand in oblivion." They watched as Farkas's injuries all Vanished as if they were never even there. He smiled at the Imperial. "ill never call magic weak again now."
The all shared a laugh as Martin sat down by the lit fireplace Aela walking up to him. "are you ok?" He smiled as he pulled out a strange bottle from his bag. "I will once I have a drink." he downed the bottle as Aela noticed the dark red liquid. "I thought you said you never drank any blood." Njada walked up arms folded. Martin didn't look up as he wiped his mouth. "its not blood. Its a potion I made mixed with mead. Its an imitation blood." Aela turned to Njada glaring. "I believe Vilkas told you to back off whelp."
Njada was about to say something when to everyone's shock Rias fist made contact with Njadas face blood spilling from her nose and mouth. "do we need this again Njada?" she said venom in her voice. "you obviously didn't listen when the circle came forward with what Kodlak said." Martin looked at Aela. "Kodlak? I thought he was dead." Aela looked down. "we'll explain everything on the way out." as they prepared to leave Aela pulled Martin into a kiss Farkas and Vilkas smirking as everyone else applauded at the return of their friend.
As they exited out of the ruins Martin pulled his hood up as the sun was rising at that point. "so youre weak to sunlight like the rumors say?" Vilkas asked. Martin nodded. "yes but it only stings after a while. Fire magic is especially dangerous for me. Other than that I can do many other things" Before they could ask Martin raised his hands as a blast of lightning filled the sky. Vilkas shook his head. "a shame friend. Im all for healing magic like what you did to Farkas but abandoning normal combat for magic?"
Martin smiled drawing his katana. "oh? Still think you can take me Vilkas?" he replied mockingly. Vilkas laughed. "still as witty as ever but twice as cocky." they walked and laughed trading stories until they reached the fork of the road to Whiterun and Whindhelm. Aela pulled Martin aside. "you lot go on ahead. Martin and I are going to Ysgramors tomb." the others nodded in agreement. As they separated Martin looked to see Njadas cold glare. "I see she still hates me." He said simply waving as an insult. Aela smirked. "True but it could be any reason." she replied taking Martins hand in hers. "so whats at Ysgramors tomb?" he asked. Aela smiled looking at him. "someone who really needs to see you again."
