"So you know they're still betting on us," Buck lifted himself up to sit on the counter next to the sink and tilted his head towards his best friend. "I overheard Hen and Chim whispering about needing everyone to reevaluate their timeframe because, and I quote, 'those idiots still haven't gotten their shit together and gotten together'."

Eddie scrubbed at the dish in the sink and nodded a hum, "And they call us the idiots."

Buck laughed as he took the now clean dish from his best friend, grabbing the dish towel on his right and began drying the dish. "I mean really, how have they not caught on yet?"

"Christopher's been calling you 'Papa' for months." Eddie pointed out as he grabbed the next dish from dinner to wash.

"I've very clearly called you 'babe' on more then one occasion in front of someone." Buck added as he sat the now dry dish on the counter next to him to be placed in the cupboard later.

"I kissed your cheek after that rough call last week to make you smile," Eddie glanced up at the blond with a smirk.

Buck smiled back, a slight blush dusting his cheeks. He then pointed at Eddie, "Albert knows and hasn't been quiet about it; and he caught us kissing at the bar months ago."

"Christopher knows and hasn't been quiet about his two dads."

"They helped me move in," Buck made a face and shrugged. "Though I can see them thinking that had more to do with helping with Christopher when the pandemic hit last year then anything else."

"It's been a year and you're still living with us." Eddie handed over the final dish to be dried and shut the water off. "You kept your apartment to allow Hen and Chim to crash there in the beginning of the pandemic; they should have clued in when they returned home by June and you broke the lease instead of returning yourself."

Buck finished drying the dish and placed it with the last one next to him as Eddie stepped in front of him. Buck shifted and opened his legs to allow Eddie to slot himself between them. Buck hooked his right foot against the back of Eddie's thigh.

"We filled out the paperwork for HR and gave them to Bobby along with the change of address."

"We had a housewarming when restrictions were fully lifted last month."

"We drape ourselves over each other in public."

"We clearly show more PDA then when we were just friends."

"We constantly share a bunk on night shifts."

"You've been called about Christopher from his school as much as I have."

"We've held hands at scenes when one of us have been hit on."

"I clearly called you my husband last month when that woman wouldn't take no for an answer; even with the hand holding."

"Lena pointed it out clear as day yesterday, so at least someone figured it out on their own."

"Our lock screens are our wedding photo."

"We have matching tattoos within view of everyone," Buck tapped his left ring finger against Eddie's as they both looked down at the black striped tattoos that replaced normal wedding bands.

"We took a two week honeymoon in December."

"Okay but we didn't exactly say it was a honeymoon." Buck pointed out.

Eddie arched a brow, "We took a vacation. Together. Without Christopher."

"Touché." Buck chuckled.

Eddie opened his mouth to say something else when someone yelled behind them.

"Okay, we get it already!" Chimney threw his hands up, "We're idiots for thinking you two are idiots."

Buck and Eddie smiled at each other before Eddie turned and leaned back against his husband. Buck wrapped his arms around Eddie's shoulders and laid his chin on his own arm; leaning his temple into Eddie's.

"How did none of you figure it out?" Buck asked as he looked between Chimney, Hen, Bobby, Athena and Maddie.

It was late into the evening and they were at work. Athena and Maddie - with four month old Jee-Yun in tow - had shown up to join the team for dinner. Talk had turned to how Buck and Eddie were still sadly single by a comment from Maddie about hooking Buck up with someone - that was not Josh - and then had offered to also hook Eddie up with someone.

Once dinner had finished Eddie had offered to do the dishes while everyone else stayed sitting around the table talking. Buck had ran downstairs to use the bathroom and when he had returned nobody had noticed so he had overheard Hen and Chimney's comment before he joined Eddie at the sink.

"We weren't very subtle about this," Eddie hummed.

"How long?" Maddie asked, eyeing her brother.

"Two years and four months." Buck grinned.

"Jesus," Chimney sighed and tilted his head to look at the high ceiling.

"We didn't even start betting until Valentine's in two thousand nineteen," Hen was smiling. "You're telling us you two were already together before then?"

Eddie nodded. "Three months by then."

"We also knew instantly about the betting," Buck glared at Chimney. "It's why we weren't being subtle, we were trying to help someone win."

"None of us were going to win, Buckaroo." Athena was laughing now. "We were all betting for the future, nobody bet that you two were smart and got together well before any of us thought you would."

"Actually," Bobby finally spoke up. "Not exactly a bet that they were already together; but Stephens on B-shift bet they would get together without anyone knowing."

Buck jumped and clapped his hands together in front of Eddie's face; causing the older man to flinch and wrinkle his nose in annoyance.

"So Stephens wins."

"So it seems," Chimney sighed again. "That is a lot of money we all just lost. Thanks guys."

"This is not on us," Eddie shook his head as he detangled himself from his husband, grabbed Buck's hand and pulled the younger man off the counter before they made their way downstairs. "Blame yourselves for being blind."

They all watched as the boys disappeared down the stairs but before anyone could say anything else Buck's laughing voice floated up the stairs.

"Oh and Bobby, the paperwork for our nametags with our new hyphened name is on your desk!"
