A/N: Okay, to make things clear, this will have no dueling in it (even tho ik how to duel, it'll still be weird), though there'll be references to the anime, and most characters may be OOC. Don't like what you're seeing? Bear with it. And please forgive me if there are things that're "missing", as I said in my profile, I'm imaginative, but not that creative. This story's main pairing is slowburn predatorship, but i'll do my best with the other characters.
Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, nor do I want to; the plot would be broken if I wrote it. ;P
Without any further ado, let's go!
Yuri sighed. He just came back home from work; he had an overtime. His back hurt and his head ached. He's working as a scientist, and if needed, as the CEO's Bodyguard in Leo Corp. And due to some projects that were going on, their salary was reduced so much. He has now just entered his house.
He's now finding his brothers Yuto, Yugo, and Yuya. Yuto, the eldest, is also an employee of Leo Corp. He though, is a boss, and like Yuri, sometimes a bodyguard.
He seems to be signing some papers.
"Welcome home, Yuri. Dinner will be ready in a while, I'm just gonna finish this." Yuto said tiredly.
"Thanks, Yuto. I'll just leave my things upstairs." Yuri told him. Yuto nodded and went back to his work.
Yugo, the third eldest, was nowhere to be found. He was probably in the garage, tinkling his motorcycle. Yugo was also working in Leo Corp. as their inventor, rocket scientist, and hacker, and he was exponentially good at it.
Yuya, the youngest, was asleep on the couch. Out of them, he was the only one who doesn't work in Leo Corp. No, he was a magician, an entertainer at children's parties, and a Stand-Up-Comedian/singer at bars. He is also a good guitarist (second to Yuto) and an actor and sometimes works in a circus as a guest. He had been staying there a bit longer for a month there... and Yuri really wanted to know why.
Yuya woke up. "Welcome home, big bro. How was your day?" Yuya asked while rubbing his head then yawned.
"As terrible as ever, little brother. I took an overtime and damn was it exhausting. But again, we need money." Yuri sighed.
"Aww… do you need a hug, big bro?" They heard Yugo say, as he finally emerged from his cave known as the garage.
"No, little brother. I have no need for such things, except if it's from Yuya. And if you don't know already, I find affection useless." Yuri had just smelled something. Something like– "By the way, you reek of motor oil." Yuri said in disgust, pushing him away with a gloved finger. He wore rubber ones in the lab, of course, but sometimes wore brown-colored leather or wool ones after. He prefers gloves over mittens as he can grip things easier… and can middle finger people. (Though that rarely happens.)
Yuto laughed, seeing that his brothers were like children again. Memories…
Yuri, now knowing where his brothers are, decided to go to his room.
After he closed his room's door, he put his case down, hung his coat on a hook, and placed his scarf over his coat.
It was November, November first, to be exact. One of the coldest months of the year. He remembered that it's also almost Christmas, maybe his brothers and he should visit their parents one of these days.
Well, parent, since their mother died when they were nine. Though when she did, she gave them all a gift. A little music box for Yuya, her whole motorcycle for Yugo, her old black jacket for Yuto, and a yellow ribbon for Yuri. At first, Yuri didn't know why she had given that to him, he was a guy, but she told him to give it to a girl he'll love in the future. Emphasis on "he'll (he will)", because she expects it, that's why it ain't "he'd (he would)". (Though she was probably just making sure that Yuri will find someone.)
Another reason was because it was supposed to be passed on through a girl in each generation, and since there was no girl in the family, that was the only way she could think of. (A/N: For you freaks out there, don't worry. It's washed.)
Their dad was the only one who raised them ever since.
Their dad, like Yuya, was an entertainer, whilst their mother was a gangster. When they met, as Yuri heard from their father, was like love at first sight. Ever since then, they dated Some few years later, they got married, and a year after that, Yuto, he, and his brothers, were born. Yuto first, then came he, Yugo, and Yuya.
All four of them had some talent in music when they were kids. Excluding Yuto, and he, his brothers were Romantics. Yuri was also good in poetry, grammar, and anything related.
He thought about his parents again, at least they found love through each other. He and his brothers all don't have any sort of romantic relationship. They had no time, and unlike Yuya, nobody in particular ever wanted to be with them.
Yuri thought that this was their life. Boring and bland, no relationships, no love, just surviving. No matter what, they had to feed each other, and since Leo Corp. had to fund big projects, their salary was small, so they can't just have some pet because it's needs would add to their expenses.
He laid down on his bed for a while to let his mind rest. As I said, his head ached, so much so that it felt like a hurricane was going on in there.
He also remembered that he lived in a house with three other boys, one of which (Yugo), had no sense of hygiene.
It also so happened, that it was almost dinner time. He could smell the scent of Miso Soup. Yuto was probably starting to cook.
He should go help before Yuto does something Yuri would consider a mistake.
And so, the sheer will of having good food got Yuri to get up and help him.
"Oh shi—" Yuto yelled, he was about to taste the soup, but it was too hot, causing him to wiggle the serving spoon, making the soup fall on his skin.
"Language, brother." Yuri reminded observing the scene.
"I know, I know." Yuto looked at him. "What?" Yuri asked.
"Did you come here to watch and mock, or help?"
"As much as I want to do the former, the sheer will of having good food tonight has made me want to help you." Yuri answered.
"You could've just answered, 'Help.' And didn't have to come up with such a long sentence." Yuto said, rolling his eyes and getting back to the food. "Well, why're ya standing there? C'mon."
"It wasn't that long." Yuri said, going beside him to help him out.
"Is the food ready?"
"Not yet, Yuya. We're still cooking it."
'Dang, I forgot to buy tofu on the way home…' Yuri thought.
"Hey Yuya, can you tell Yugo to but some tofu? Tell him to be fast as the soup is almost done. Oh, tell him to buy the nice ones, okay?" Yuri asked. "And make it fast."
"Sure!" Yuya said enthusiastically. His enthusiasm was what Yuri loved about him, no matter how tired he was, he was the family's bundle of joy.
Yuya sat on the couch, waiting for Yugo to finish his bath. Yugo decided to do so after Yuri mockingly said he reeked of motor oil, he smelled himself, noticed how right Yuri was, and ran straight to the bathroom.
"Ahhhhhhhh…" Yugo said as he came out, all fresh, clean, and clothed.
"Fusion finally took a bath!" they heard Yuri yell in the kitchen. Yugo went there just to stick his tongue out to him. Yuri gave him an amused grin in response.
"Yugo, Yuri told me to tell you to buy some tofu." Yuya informed him.
"Okay then, Yuya. Anything as long as it came from our precious little brother!" Yugo said happily. "Even though it was him," Yugo points at Yuri. Yuri rose one of his thick eyebrows. "Who told you to tell me."
Yugo then took his cerulean hoodie, wore it, then went out of their shared house. "Ciao, see you guys later, my bros!" He said, closing (slamming, actually) the door.
As Yugo went to buy some Tofu, he bumped into someone.
Said someone was a girl.
"Oop, sorry ma'am…" Yugo looked at her. She had green hair and orange eyes.
"Nah, it's fine. I'm just looking for someone…" the girl said.
"I'm Yugo, and who is it that you're looking for, Miss…"
"Rin. I'm finding one of my sisters… Fusion."
"No, as in, Yu-go. Not fusion, Miss Rin. Hopefully you'll find her." Yugo said, smiling, hiding his annoyance.
"Oh, sorry. And thanks, hopefully anyway. She always leaves the house and sometimes won't come home after 3 days to one week, unless she has work, or when she's hungry…"
Yugo grimaced, good thing that doesn't happen with his family. "Maybe I can help, mind giving any descriptions?"
"Nah, it's fine. My other sisters and I can do it on our own, thanks, though."
But Yugo insisted. "Nah… please? Just the descriptions."
"Sigh… Okay then. She has indigo hair, with lighter versions on it on either side of her face, just like mine, but bluish." She said, holding said parts. "She also has green eyes."
"Ohh, okay. Hopefully she's fine. Well, I've got to go now. Bye!"
"Bye, Yugo." Rin smiled, walking away. 'He has a kind soul.'
"Bye, Rin."
After Fusion-kun came back with the tofu (and four, medium-sized, microwavable burritos), they continued cooking.
"Why'd you buy that?!" Yuri furiously yelled towards him.
"It can be our dinner, breakfast, or maybe lunch tomorrow?" Yugo answered.
"Let it pass, Yuri." Yuto said. "Fine." Yuri said, glaring at Yugo.
After they added the tofu to the soup, they were ready to eat.
"Thank you for the food, Yuto and Yuri!" Yuya said, thanking them. "Thanks…" Yugo smiled. They DID cook the food after all, and through their experience, Yuto and Yuri were better cooks than Yusho, their father, himself. The only one who's better was their mother.
The taste of the soups she used to cook for them would stay in their memory, no matter what. The past years, Yuri was trying to perfect said soup/s, wanting to taste it again. (Yes, Yuri is a man of many talents.) But he could never perfect it.
"Wow, this tastes pretty good!" Yuya complemented.
Yuto smiled, "Thanks, but again, Yuri is our head chef here."
"Hm? No need to flatter me, brother. I know how good the food I cook tastes."
"Oh, hey, guys, on the way of buying these tofu, I met someone who was looking for her sister, so if you see someone green-haired wandering around, that's her."
"Ooohh, you met a girl?" Yuri teased.
"Wait, what do you mean? The green-haired girl was the one ran away, or the one who told you that her sister was gone?" Yuto asked.
"Yes, Yuri, I met a girl. And Yuto, the green haired girl whose name is Rin, was the one who told me about her sister."
"Oh, okay then."
"Did you like the girl in some way? Come on, tell me tell me tell me!" Yuri asked eagerly, smirking.
"Hey! I just met her, so I won't know right away," Yugo yelled. "But I guess I kinda do…" he almost drooled at the last sentence.
"Speaking of girls, I met someone at a bar I worked at…" Yuya said, thinking about the girl. She had blue eyes that shone like sapphires, and pink hair that smelled like flowers…
"Yuya, Yuya! Earth to Yuya!" Yuto said, snapping his fingers in front of the boy (who had trailed off, thinking about the above-mentioned attributes) who was currently staring at the ceiling as if they had the most beautiful scene that he has seen.
Yuri dramatically sighed, "Our little brother has grown up, and worse, has found a "mate"."
This somehow snapped Yuya out of his thoughts. "No! I have not!"
"Yuri is somehow *slurp* right, y'know *sluuuuuurp*." Yugo said, sipping the noodles.
"As if you haven't either, fusion." Yuri said.
"As I said, I just met her."
"Okay, enough. Tell us about this girl, Yuya. I'm sure all of us wants to know who our youngest brother likes." Yuto smiled.
Yuya put his hand over his head. "Eheheh… her name was… Yuzu—"
"Oh, the fruit?" Yuri asked, cutting him off. All his bros gave him a glare. "What?"
"Shut up." Yugo and Yuto said in sync.
"Fine, fine. You may continue, Yuya." Yuri said.
"So anyway, her name was Yuzu. She had blue eyes and pink hair, with strands a bit lighter at the sides."
"Sounds like Rinrin, except she had turquoise-colored hair and orange eyes." Yugo mentioned.
"Rinri—"
"Yuri."
"Yeah, okay."
"Uhh I'm just gonna continue… so she could also play the guitar, like, really well." Yuya continued.
"How about my guitar skills, Yuya?" Yuto asked.
Yuya swiftly waved his hands. "O-Of course yours are good, it's just that, uhh, you both… match! Yeah, match… in skills..." Yuya laughed, albeit nervously.
"And as much as I don't want to admit, Yuri's right, I have, I guess, found a mate." Yuya paused for a moment, he felt REAL guilty about something he's about to say. "I-I have known her for six weeks or more… and uhh… we dated about a month ago… that's… four weeks?"
Everyone was silent.
Until they weren't.
"YUYA HAS A GIIIRLFRIIIEEEND!" Yugo suddenly cheered.
"W-Wow." Yuto said, surprised. Eyes widening as he realized that Yuya, indeed, already has a girlfriend.
"I knew it." Yuri smirked. "What do you mean?"
Yuri grinned happily. "You seem much, much, much happier and cheerful nowadays. You even stay longer by 10-15 minutes."
"How do you know all that?" Yuya asked.
"I have my ways, Yuya."
The rest of dinner was spent on talking about work and their family, debating if they should go visit their father for Christmas (which ended up still being undecided), and Yuya's new girlfriend.
After eating, Yuto did the dishes, whilst all others took their baths, and now the brothers are going to sleep.
Yugo and Yuya shared a room with a bunk bed. Yuri and Yuto both have separate rooms.
Yuri entered Yugo and Yuya's shared room.
"Goodnight, little brothers. Specifically, Yuya." Yuri said to them, grinning.
"Hey…" Yugo wanted to punch him to oblivion, but he was too tired to do so, so he just said, "Never mind, fuck off, Yuri." He yawned, climbed his bed, then slumped on it. "Ahh… exactly what I need after the whole day."
"Good night, Fuuusion!~"
"'Night, cabbage."
"How rude."
"And you aren't rude." Yugo said, getting up to look at him.
Yuya sighed, then smiled. "Goodnight, Yuri."
Yuri looked at him. "Trying to break our fight, Lil' Bro?"
"Yes, and no…?"
"Meh, it's alright. And good night again, little tomato, and you better sleep early so that you'll look good for your girlfriend." Yuri smirked.
Yuya chuckled in response. "Oh, come on…"
"Kidding, kidding, but you really should. Now go get some sleep."
"Of course." Yuya yawned, covering himself in his blanket like a little burrito. Yuri somehow found it cute.
Yuri closed the door.
As he did, Yuto had just left the bathroom and is now drying his hair.
"They asleep?"
"Not yet, but they're about to." Yuri said, walking to his room "'Night, big bro."
Yuto smiled, walking to his own room. "'Night, Yuri."
Yuri closed the door, and thought that, as long as he had his family and his big and lil' bros, he's fine.
…
…
He sat on his bed; looked out of the window and tried to feel happy, but the feeling of as if something was missing in his life, obviously it's a female, and he knows even his brothers needs that. (Well, he and Yuto specifically because Yuya and Yugo seems to have already found theirs.) I mean, even animals need the opposite gender.
He finally decided to lay on his bed and try to sleep it off.
'At least I know that Yuya and Yugo might have a life with someone in the future…' he thought. He then got up and took his phone and played "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", by Green Day, to help him sleep.
A part of the lyrics stayed in his mind.
My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only one that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
…'Till then I walk alone…
And indeed, without his brothers, he walks alone.
A/N: Hopefully this was all fine. ^_^' There will me more songs in this, except it won't be the main focus, so don't expect to see them all the time. Last, I'm sorry if this was short (in my opinion it is).
Well, cya in the next chapter, and do leave a review.
-01, out!
