"Love makes your soul crawl out from its hiding place."

–Zora Neale Hurston

The next day, while Yuri at his lab, he felt bored.

Bored out of his mind.

The tripping random people on purpose and killing animals during experiments didn't interest him as much as it did before.

And when he's bored, what he told Sora usually doesn't apply anymore.

When he saw Yuto, he had a face that shows something about excitement and light fear. Yuto had come to Yuri's lab to check on him.

"You seem more nervous than usual." Yuri asked, approaching him. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing, why?" He said.

"Nothing, huh? Yeah right."

Yuri had familiarized his brothers' actions. He can tell if they're hiding something, won't tell him anything, and somehow knows at least 85% of their secrets.

"Nothing, really." Yuto said. He was thinking about Ruri, how their date might go… talking more to her, hanging out… he blushed at those thoughts.

"C'mon, you can tell me. I'm the "Keeper of Secrets" in the family, remember? You know I won't tell anybody."

"Sigh… I know. It's just, it might be something you'd mock me about." Knowing Yuri, he does keep secrets, but every time you're near him – and it's a bit embarrassing, he'd keep on reminding you about it, only stopping if he forgets about it.

"Nah, I'm bored. Killing rats doesn't even interest me anymore."

"Sorry, what?" He, again, was thinking about he and Ruri's date, so he wasn't paying much attention. That, or he tried to ignore the, "Killing rats" part.

"Next time, listen."

Yuto facepalmed. Again with this.

Good thing he remembered. "That's new, you're usually a sadist."

"I know, I was surprised myself."

"What happened yesterday during lunch, anyway? The time after I chased you." Yuto asked, especially since he went home, not very late, but late enough.

"Hmm… I went to get some lunch, then, as I said, was attacked and clobbered by those damned cats." He shrugged. Pretty good with lying, too.

"Oh, that's it? Something must have happened. Your sadism won't just disappear after you had lunch."

Yuri gritted his teeth, then sighed, "… Fine." There was a pause. "I… met someone, period. What about you?" Not wanting to talk about what happened the other day any further.

"Who'd you meet?" Yuto then asked the inevitable. "Was it a guy, or a girl?"

"…Why should you know?"

"Nothing, just wanna make sure who my lil bro was with. I mean, I AM the eldest." Yuto jaunted as he gave Yuri a noogie.

Speaking of eldest, the third eldest, Yugo, ran there with his laptop.

"YutoYutoYuto! No, not you, Yuri, come hereee!" Yugo blurted out enthusiastically.

"What do you want to show me, Yugo?" Yuto asked. "I have just designed a new motorcycle design for the corporation! It'll have everything you need from guns, flying, and riding on water! It'll help us catch people a LOT!" Yugo cheered.

"I guess you don't have to show me anything, Fusion. You uttered every word out loud." Yuri teased.

Yugo turned to him with a twitching eye. "For the millionth time, my. Name. Is. Yugo, and most certainly not FUSION!" Yugo yelled.

Yuto sighed and went at the middle of the two. "You two better not start a fight," he then pulled their ears. "Got. It?"

"Yes, Nii." Yugo said in the calmest voice he could summon.

"You're not mom." Yuto looked at Yuri. "Yes, beloved dear brother." He corrected sweetly.

"Good!" Yuto let them both go and clasped his hands. "Why don't we all get back to work? Oh, and, you guys go home first later. I have to go somewhere and might not be home 'till 6:30-7:00 PM, maybe a bit later."

"Why such late times, brother?" Yuri asked.

"You don't need to know that, Yuri."

Yuri feigned sadness and disappointment, "But then how come you got angry at me for going home, "late" last night? Though, I didn't even stay out so long."

"Please." Yuto begged. "Okay?"

"Fine."

"Well, see ya guys later." Yugo said, walking away.

They all went back to their departments and continued to work. Not knowing that Yuri, of course, has formulated a plan to know what Yuto's going to do.

Later-4:30 PM

As Yugo said goodbye, he went to the corp.'s comfort rooms and looked at himself.

"Okay, Yuto. Relax, you're just gonna have a talk with her, nothing much." Yuto said to himself.

Unbeknownst to Yuto, Yuri followed him and is in one of the stalls in the bathroom.

'Her? Waiiit… is he meeting a girl? I'd just love see how this would go! Hiding in this stall happened to be a good idea.' Yuri giddily thought. He hid in a stall because he had a feeling Yuto might meet someone.

And when you're going to meet someone, you have to make sure you look appropriate. How do you check if you look appropriate? Look at the mirror. And where are most mirrors located? Bath/comfort rooms and bedrooms.

This one also happened to be the nearest to Yuto's department, so Yuto went here most of the time.

Yuto sighed. "You can do this." He told himself. "Youcandothisyoucandothisyoucandothis."

As Yuto left the bathroom, so did Yuri. And the latter is now stalking the former when he saw someone…

That someone happened to be Serena.

"Fancy meeting you here, Serena. What're you doing?" Yuri whispered to her ear, surprising her.

As such, she instinctively punched him.

"Oooohh, damn. Sorry, thought you were someone else." She apologized; she too was following someone. "I was following someone."

"Really? I'm also following someone; my brother. He's on a date." He said, proud that he was stalking his brother. I mean, who wouldn't be proud of successfully stalking their sibling?

"Really? Where? May I meet him?"

"Wha-? No, you should never meet him."

"Uhh… Why?"

"I simply don't want you too! Wait, he entered that restaurant." He said, pointing at the diner Ruri worked at.

"Huh. That place happens to be the place my sister works at." Serena mentioned.

"Oooh, I wanna meet her. See if she's like you."

"No."

"Sigh… why?"

"You won't let me meet your brother." She retorted.

"You're gonna meet, well, see, him anyway. I'm entering, you may follow if you want." Yuri said. "I, too am actually gonna enter." Serena said.

Yuri tiptoed to the restaurant and entered it. Serena did the same. They both sat at a different table and covered their faces with the menu, the usual way to spy on people.

"Hi, Yuto." Ruri smiled.

"H-Hi, Ruri." Yuto said shakily. It was his first time going on a date, even though this isn't considered one.

"Knew it! He was meeting someone, and a girl at that!" Yuri whisper-yelled to Serena.

"Said girl happens to be my sister…" Serena sighed.

"You do look like her and vise-versa." Yuri said, amused.

Ruri giggled at Yuto's nervousness. Yuto just started, "So anyway, you said my order reminds you of your sister?"

"Yeah, she loves Tuna," she said sadly. "Would usually request for it before we went to school. Rin, my other sister, and I would usually have P&Js, while Yuzu and she—my sister—would have Nutella and Tuna." She said, remembering the times as kids, before any, any of that happened.

Serena felt her heart ache hearing that, she too remembered everything. She felt her muscles weaken.

"We would go to school happily, and at the end of the day, Rin and she would race home until one of our brothers would stop them." Ruri said dejectedly.

"I-I'm gonna leave." Serena said, getting up from her seat.

"Huh? Why?"

"I can't take it."

Yuri raised one of his eyebrows, "Can't take what?"

Serena glared at him. "What they're talking about. Tch, you know some parts of my story."

"Hey, it's fine. Bad things happen in life all the time!" Yuri had an idea. "Thought you were so strong, but only physically, I guess you're emotionally vulnerable."

This made Serena go back to her seat. She didn't like it when people called her weak. "Tsk. Fine."

"Heh, I too have siblings. Three of them, all boys. The other two would always fight, and when that happened, it's either Yuya or I who'll stop them."

Ruri chuckled. "Well, the sibling I was talking about was the third eldest, Serena. She too would get into fights, but we did our best to stop her…" then her face darkened. "But she got into fights more frequently after our father died. Anything could trigger her."

"Uhh fight who? Siblings? That's normal."

Ruri shook her head. "No, she'd go out and try to run away, we stopped her, but when a bully from the neighborhood or school picked on her or any of us, she'll beat them up, causing her to not have any friends."

Yuto felt that he wasn't doing a good job, but he knew it'd be better if he let her pour everything out. He also should.

"My family too changed a lot, but unlike you, our mother was the one who died." He stated.

"Oh my, how or why'd she die?" Ruri asked.

"Well, it's a bit complicated…"

Okay, this time, Yuri was the one who wanted to leave.

"Oh yeah! You said she died because of Lung Cancer." Serena mentioned. "Yeah, she did." Yuri growled, confirming her thoughts.

"She died of lung cancer, turns out, even though she doesn't smoke, she always hung out near smokers. Our grandpa also used to be a drunk and a smoker, making her situation worse. He also never liked us." Yuto grieved.

"Same here. Except both of my grandparents in my mother's side and she (their mom) didn't like us."

"Sigh… why does life have to be…" Yuto started.

"So difficult?" Ruri continued.

Yuto smiled, "It's okay," He took Ruri's hands into his own. "I'm here now."

"You sure?" Ruri giggled. "You're not the first guy who tried to take advantage on me."

"No, no. I'll never take advantage of you." Yuto said happily. "Wanna take a walk in the park?"

"Sure!" Ruri smiled.

After Yuto paid the bill, they subconsciously they held each other's hands as they exited.

Yuri smiled. "I've… never seen him so happy. Well, he's happy with us, but not like this."

"Same here. With Ruri, I mean."

As Yuto and Ruri left, Yuri got up. "Well, I better get going. Looks like he's in good hands. I mean, she ain't like you, is she?"

"Her being like me would be disastrous; most money we have is because of her."

"Oh. Well, see ya whenever." Yuri quaked.

"Yeah, you too. Y'know where to find me."

"Hm? You aren't going home yet?"

Serena rolled her eyes. "No. Your bro might be in good hands, but I hafta make sure my sister is, too."

Yuri just laughed. "Don't worry, my bro there is the least you should worry about. Anyway, bye."

"Bye." Serena said as she continued to stalk Ruri.

When Yuri got home, he explained everything to his other brothers after they ate dinner.

"Nii-chan went on a date?" Yuya innocently asked.

"Yeah, but please don't tell him I told you. Especially you, Yugo." Yuri said, staring at Yugo.

"Yeah, yeah, I don't want to anyway! This is very valuable information right here." Yugo chuckled. "I also met the girl again, as I said, her name's Rin, but I accidentally called her 'RinRin', and she's fine with it!"

After this, is basically just them talking about meeting their girls.

"Ahh, you have a girlfriend, like brother." Yuri said.

"No, I do not." Yugo blurted.

"Earlier, I sang with Yuzu again. She never ceases to impress me. The songs she sang are also always hypnotizing…" Yuya said, reminiscing the moment.

"I guess it's so hypnotizing, that it's a reason why my most precious little brother fall in love." Yuri teased.

"Aww man, our little Yuya's growin up!" Yugo gushed.

"I'm already a grown up!" Yuya yelled. "What about you, Yuri? Have you met anyone?"

"Me?" Yuri said, pointing to himself. "Uhh… I'm not really into anybody yet, nor do I want to ever start a relationship." He doesn't want to tell anyone about Serena, ever. He feels like she'll disappear forever if he'll do so.

"Oh yeah, you said something about, 'Building a relationship just wastes time and money, and I have better things to do than waste my time making out with someone.', right?" Yugo stated.

"Precisely. Who needs love, anyway? Yes, we need to reproduce, but there are billions of other people out there who're doing it for me." Yuri said.

Yugo sweat dropped. "Yeah, okay, even though you're the one who always talks about having a girlfriend…"

Yuri decided to not mind Yugo's last sentence and instead said, "Are any of the both of you ever gonna give me any nieces or nephews?"

Yugo and Yuya gaped. "Gee, Yuri, why'd you ask that!?" Yugo said while imagining him and… Rin… having kids. He seemed to like that thought.

"Why are you blushing, Yugo?" Yuya innocently asked.

Yuri concluded, "Probably fantasizing about him and that Rin girl having—"

He was cut off as Yugo yelled, "I am NOT thinking about that, thank you very much." He then pouted.

"Well, let's all go to sleep, shall we? It's better than waiting for Yuto." Yuri laughed.

As he said that, said person just entered their house. "Good evening, bros."

"Heh, good eve, big brother. We were just talking about you." Yuri greeted.

"How'd your 'meeting' go? Cause I'm sure you met someone." Yugo asked. Yuto blushed. "It was… uh… fine." He relaxed.

After a while, Yuto finally settled down and honestly admitted that he met up with a girl – Ruri. Yugo and Yuya though, also told Yuto about their love interests. All Yuri did was listen quietly as they all unconsciously revealed some minor secrets (that can still be used against them).

They went to bed after all the talking, getting ready for the next days ahead. They were ready for anything, as long as their girls were there for them.

Especially Yuri, who was the one who needed his the most. "Yawn… good night, Serena. Wherever you are. Please be safe… I have no idea why I just said that. I'm probably getting crazy, sheesh." He said, mocking himself.

The Girls' Apartment

"Gee, Ruri. Where have you been!?" Rin asked. "We were worried you'd turn into Serena."

"Turn to who, sis?" There was Serena, who entered after Ruri did.

"Right, I brought Serena here because she followed me home. It's better than to let her stay out again."

Rin scratched the back of her head. "Sorry, Serena…" But then her face turned furious. "Okay… WHERE'D YOU F*CKING GO!? DO YOU KNOW HOW LATE I STAYED UP LOOKING FOR YOU?"

Serena wished she hadn't gone home. "Sorry! I just went somewhere you guys never knew existed, that's all!" She raised her arms in defense. "Though, apology accepted, I mean, it would be disastrous if Ruri had turned into me."

Yuzu had seen them as she closed the door of her and Rin's shared room. "Serena! You're back!" She yelled, running to her sister. "I was REALLY worried, you know…"

Serena sighed, "You're always worried, but still, this is the least number of nights I've stayed out, the earliest I came home, too," Serena said. "Still, I missed you too, lil sis."

Rin and Ruri noticed something, Yuzu did too, but they all thought that it's better not to be mentioned. It was that, as Serena had said, had been the earliest time she decided to come home. Even more surprising was the fact that she doesn't have any bruises, nor was she beaten and battered. The reasons for this, they thought, was that she had either successfully sold herself as a prostitute, or something else happened, and whatever did, they were thankful.

Finally, they had actually slept peacefully that night. Knowing that their most dangerous sister (both as herself and the troubles she caused) was safe.

With Ruri, she thought about what happened earlier. After they walked out the restaurant.

"So, anything else you want to do?" Yuto asked.

Ruri just shrugged. "Well, I don't really know what else."

They took a little walk. "Oh!" Ruri suddenly exclaimed. "Thanksgiving is nearing, any plans?"

"Remember what I said? My mom is dead. And I don't think my brothers and I will be visiting our dad right now… Other than work, none of us "feel" the need to visit him."

Ruri looked down. "Wow. Unlike you guys, I actually want to visit our dad… if he were alive."

Yuto sighed. "Hey, hey, it's alright. You girls could visit your father's grave."

As she watched, Serena thought of the same thing. 'Huh, I was actually planning on doing that. Alone.'

"Yeah, you're right. You know, I'll do just that. I'll tell my sisters about it. Thanks, Yuto." Ruri smiled.

Yuto blushed and looked away, trying to hide it. This made Ruri giggle, making Yuto blush even harder.

Serena just laughed lightly at the two. Ruri had never been this relaxed recently…

They sat on a park bench. Serena sat behind a tree that was closest to the two.

They continued to talk about family, life, and such until it got late.

"Oh my, how fast time goes by." She said.

"Freak!" Yuto exclaimed. "You're right… well, I have to go."

"Yeah, me too. Uhm, see you again next time."

"You too. Bye…"

"Bye."

But when Ruri turned, Yuto stopped and grabbed her arm.

"H-Huh?"

Serena got ready just in case.

Yuto just looked into her eyes. "I-I just wanna say, it was a very nice night."

Ruri nodded nervously. "Same."

Yuto let her arm go. "Sorry,"

"It's fine."

But then…

She slowly cupped the right side on his face, as Yuto did the same.

And like you thought, they were about to kiss. About.

'Oh no you don't!' Serena thought, marching towards the two.

"Ruri!" She yelled, cupping her mouth to make her voice louder than it already is.

Ruri and Yuto froze. Yuto turned to whom the voice came from. "…Who's she?"

Ruri laughed nervously and gestured for Serena to leave.

But the latter just gave stupid, sly, smug smile. "Sis!"

"Sis… your sister?"

"Yeah…" Ruri rubbed her head while Serena ran and stopped in front of them.

"Hi. My name is Serena Kurosaki." She said, holding her hand out. Ruri just face-palmed.

"Yuto. Yuto Sakaki." Yuto said, accepting the handshake. "Funny how you resemble Ruri so much."

"Yeah… same with my other two sisters." Serena informed.

Ruri just sighed and glared at Serena. Again, she just gave Ruri a smug smile.

"We better get going." Ruri said, grabbing Serena's arm. Her grip was hard.

"Oh well, see you next time. Bye." Yuto said, waving his hand gesturing goodbye.

Whilst they were walking home, Ruri pulled one Serena's ears. "Ow! Hey…!"

Ruri gave her a death glare. "Why… of all the times to show up… why!?" She said, comically getting angry. She also just let Serena go.

"Had to protect you from a rushed romance." Serena said, rubbing her ear.

"Well, at least you're going home… You are, right?"

Serena stopped and pondered about it. "Did you know how late Rin came home just to look for you? Just come home, please."

"…Fine. I miss you girls anyway." Serena smiled. 'I left Misty once or twice alone before anyway. She'll be fine.'

"Really? Well then let's go!"

Serena grinned. "Race you!"

With that, the two girls ran, releasing their inner child. Even if it's just for a while, or for this moment.

Ruri then slowly closed her eyes and slept peacefully.
