"Lapochka, it's time for Makkachin's walk!"

Yuuri looked up at his husband. Victor was standing by the door, holding Makkachin's leash and watching him expectantly. Yuuri raised his eyebrows and replied blandly, "It certainly looks that way."

"Yuuuuriiii," Victor whined.

"Yeeees?" Yuuri echoed, unsure if he was annoyed or amused by this little display.

"I want you to come with us! Oh, and make sure you have your phone."

Now the Japanese man was outright suspicious. Putting down his book, he said, "Vitya, what on earth are you planning?"

Victor gave him his best wide-eyed innocent look. "What do you mean, zvezda moya? I just want to spend some time with my lovely husband on this beautiful day."

Yuuri snorted. "It might be beautiful, but it's cold, and I've already done my run for the day. So forgive me if I'm not jumping at the chance to join you outside on your dubious walk."

The look switched to puppy-dog pleading. "Don't you want to spend some time with your family today? I just want to walk with you."

Gritting his teeth, Yuuri stared at his husband for a long moment. Finally, he sighed and levered himself out of his chair. Damn this man for knowing how to play him. "Fine. Let me get my jacket."

Squealing in delight, Victor clapped his hands. "Yay! We all get to go for a walk together!" Makkachin seemed to share his master's excitement, and jumped up to lick Yuuri's face as he was putting on his shoes. They managed to make it outside and down to the sidewalk with the bounding poodle before Victor said, "So you brought your phone, right?"

"Why do you keep asking me that?"

Victor looked furtively up and down the sidewalk. When he had confirmed they were alone, he leaned over and whispered directly in his husband's ear, "I have something I want you to do for me."

Yuuri rolled his eyes. "How did I know this wasn't just a walk," he muttered sullenly.

His spouse ignored him, awash in his own excitement as he continued to murmur into Yuuri's ear, "I'm going to pretend to fall over, and I want you to video what Makkachin does."

Yuuri stared at his husband for a moment before realization dawned on him. "Vitya, is this some kind of internet challenge?"

"Shh, don't say it too loudly, Makkachin can hear you!"

Yuuri snorted. "Vitya, he's a dog. He can hear you even when you whisper at this range. But even if he can hear you, it's not as if he understands."

Victor ignored him, reaching into the pants pocket where Yuuri usually tucked his phone. The sudden brush on his skin through his clothes sent an electric shudder through Yuuri, but his husband was much too engrossed in his task to notice what effect he was having. He pressed the phone into Yuuri's hand and nodded conspiratorially. As he walked a few steps ahead with Makkachin, Yuuri sighed loudly as he opened the camera on his phone and swiped to the video function. "I don't suppose anything I say is going to make a difference at this point?"

Victor thoroughly ignored him, saying in an exaggeratedly casual tone, "It sure is a nice day, isn't it?"

"No, it isn't, you crazy Russian. It's cold as balls," Yuuri muttered to himself.

Casting a glance at his husband to make sure he was ready, Victor flopped dramatically down onto the sidewalk, carefully splaying his body out so he wouldn't fall too hard or get injured.

Immediately, Makkachin dashed over to his master. Wagging his tail furiously, he began to examine Victor all over, snuffling around his face and head, then working his way down. To Victor's credit, he managed to stay fairly still as the poodle gave him a thorough inspection, tail thumping the entire time.

Eventually, Yuuri sighed. "Vitya, don't you think that's enough? He's just going to keep sniffing around you until you get up."

Victor rose from the sidewalk, giving his husband an annoyed look. "Yuuuuri, I told you not to ruin it! Now he knows I was faking!"

Yuuri pinched the bridge of his nose. "I think he knew that anyway. He isn't stupid. Now come on, can we just go home?" Annoyed, he flicked off the video.

Reclaiming Makkachin's leash, Victor walked over. "Did you get it on video?"

"Yes, yes I did."

Although Yuuri's tone dripped with disdain for the whole situation, Victor ignored it. "Then yes, we can go home." Looking satisfied, he began walking back on their usual route to their apartment. "Make sure to send me the video so I can post it!"

Yuuri closed his eyes and reminded himself firmly that he had chosen to marry this insane man.
