A few hours later, it was time for the big Christmas party at the Mertopian palace. The ballroom of the palace was decked with Christmas decorations, and the guests had already arrived as well. The Queen of the Merhogs then proceeded to swim onto the stage to give her people a Christmas speech. All the party guests fell silent as they allowed their queen to start her speech.

"Alright, thank you, my loyal subjects, for coming to this year's Christmas party. It has been quite the exciting year, mainly because the hero who saved our city years ago, Sonic the Hedgehog, has been turned into a Merhog and has moved into our city around Valentine's Day. On behalf of all of Mertopia, me and my daughter Merna cannot begin to express how grateful we are to have Sonic living with us and having taught him about the world of wonder we have here down under the sea. So without further ado, let me wish you all a Merry Christmas, and here's to another wonderful year for Mertopia and the Merbian race as a whole!" The Queen of the Merhogs spoke as the people of Mertopia clapped for her, with Sonic doing the same as he smiled.

"Now, my daughter Merna will be singing a song to celebrate this year's Christmas party. Take it away, honey." The Queen of the Merhogs smiled before Merna, along with a group of Merhogs swam onto the stage. The Merhogs began to play their instruments while Merna began to sing.

As Merna finished singing, all of the Merhogs in the room began to clap for her, with Sonic doing the same thing before the cobalt blue Merhog proceeded to swim up to his orange mate. "Merry Christmas, Merna. I'm grateful I get to spend this Christmas, and every Christmas following this one with you." Sonic smiled as he wrapped his arms around Merna's back.

Merna smiled back as she wrapped her arms around Sonic's neck. "Merry Christmas to you as well, Sonic. I'm just as grateful to be able to spend this Christmas and every following Christmas with you as well." The Merhog princess replied before she proceeded to kiss Sonic on the lips as the crowd proceeded to clap once more.
