"Half me and half you?"

"Yep!"

"And he's in your belly?"

"Or she. We'll find out when the baby's born."

"Are you sure?!"

Chichi does her best to describe pregnancy and all the changes that come with it in terms Goku will understand, but he can't quite wrap his head around it. How can she be so sure there's a baby growing inside her? he asks. She hasn't gotten any bigger.

The baby is still too little, she calmly explains. Her stomach will expand slowly, and he'll see it soon enough.

And it will really be in there for nine whole months? Will she be able to pee without it coming out, if it's supposed to come out from down there?

Yes, she explains a little less calmly. He'll know when it's coming out.

Her eyes are closed tight, like she has a headache, Goku nervously observes, and she keeps clenching and unclenching one of her fists. Did he say something bad again with one of his questions? Maybe it's time to take a break from talking for now. But there's one more thing he really wants to ask.

What did you mean by the baby will be half me and half you?

Her expression immediately softens, and her hand relaxes and uncurls from its fist.

She means, she says with a smile, that the baby will have traits from both of them. Like maybe his chin and her eyes. Or his unruly hair and her nose. Right on cue, her stomach growls. They agree that the baby definitely has his appetite.
