The next time I looked up from the never ending stack of papers it was dark outside. Everyone had pretty much deserted, except my dad and Tig. I just sat with my head in my hands. I had the worst headache so I took one of the painkillers Tara had given me. I had to keep that information away from my family. They didn't need to know that I was taking anything. My mom would overreach and think I was using again. Hell, I was lying to her about everything already. What's one more? The only problem was it was my last one and I had no more refills. I would have to get another script from Tara.

"Hey." Clay came into the office. Thank God it wasn't a few minutes prior.

"Hey. Where's mom? I haven't seen her all day."

"She had to watch Abel today. Nita was sick. She didn't tell you?"

"She may have. It's been a long day."

"Yeah I know. You and Tig gonna be okay?"

"I hope so. I really don't know."

"Well I hope so. I've never said this before, but… I think he's good for you."

"You do?"

"Yeah. He can protect you when I can't. He loves you. And as weird as it may be for me to have my best friend love my daughter… I think you guys are worth fighting for."

"Wow. That must have been hard to say."

"Don't be a smartass."

"Sorry. I hear what you're saying though. I think we're worth it too. I just… this is different dad. There's so much going on in my head right now. I need him to understand that."

"Have you told him that?"

"I don't know how. I don't wanna break his heart."

"You hurting and pushing him away is what's breaking his heart. It's breaking all of our hearts. Ya know, your mother is so much better at this stuff than I am. Have you talked to her about any of this?"

"No. I don't want her to get involved. Things get messy when she tries to fix it."

"Yeah. That's true."

"And hey. You're not that bad at this. The big bad biker Prez has his moments."

"Especially when it comes to his princess. Look I'm there's a rap party tonight at Cara Cara. I think your mom went home though."

"Alright. Thanks dad."

"Oh I almost forgot. Your mom and I got you a new car. It's not as flashy and cool as the Cadillac was but it'll work."

"What is it?"

"Just a plain black suv. Suburban. Like your moms."

"Thanks dad. I appreciate it."

"You're welcome. I love you Amelia."

"Love you too dad."

He turned around when he go to the door. "You should go home. You're exhausted and the paperwork will be there tomorrow."

"We're drowning dad." I sighed. "I'll go home soon okay? I'm just gonna finish up a few more things here."

"Alright. Goodnight."

"Night."

I got another file from the pile on the desk and started to fill it out. Once it was finished I got up and filed it. I placed the stack of files that still had to be filled out on the center of the desk. I was grabbing my purse and was about to go when Tig came and stood in the doorway. He was just staring at me. I pulled my jacket around me and crossed my arms over my stomach. I knew I should wait for him to speak so I just stood and looked down at the desk.

"I'm sorry."

"Me too." I sighed and knew it would be on me to move on from this. It wasn't just the assault. It was how Tig was. He was never a big talker, especially not about his feelings. "How're the hands?"

"They're fine. A little sore." He smiled.

"Yeah. I bet. Did you ice them?"

"Nah. I'll be fine."

"Yeah. You're a tough one." I laughed. "Well, it's too late for ice now. If they still hurt tomorrow tell me and I'll grab some of my dad's cortisone."

"Yeah. Thanks. What's going on with us baby?"

"It's me. That accident just shook me up somehow. I-I don't know. I'm just havin' trouble."

"How do I help?"

"I'm so sorry it's bleeding all over you."

"It's gonna be okay." I looked down at the floor. He stepped up to me and lightly put his hand under my chin to raise my face. "You and me. We're in this for the long haul baby. It's me and you against the world. I just want you back, Amelia."

"I'm just- I'm a little lost baby." He hugged me and I tried to let him, but I just couldn't. "I uh, I gotta get this software to Bobby. So he can do Luann's books ya know."

"I'll take it. I don't want you hangin' around that place. And neither does your old man."

"Yeah. Okay. Thanks."

"Look, there's this rap party at Cara Cara. The guys are gonna be there and I uh, I was thinkin' a goin'. Unless.. you wanna maybe have dinner or something?"

"No, I uh, I've got some more things to do around here and I'm pretty tired. You should go though."

"Okay." He says, kissing me.

"Have a good time."

"Yeah. Alright."

I sat back down in the chair. My life was falling apart around me. I couldn't ask Tara for another script. She might tell Jax, or worse Gemma. I have been clean and sober, with the exception of weed and alcohol, for over a year. I guess they took that from me too.

I got up and grabbed my purse. I went to my car and drove to the one place I actually knew would help me right now. I went across town, into the suburban sector of Charming. Ironic because of who's house I was going to. He said that even though everyone knew what he did, he still wanted to have a nice house in town. Separate work and play. God he was such an ass, but he knew the value of good business. And even better, he was more scared of my mother than he was anything else in this town, so he would keep his mouth shut.

I walked up to his door with all the cash I had one me rolled into my pocket. I only had 500. It would have to be enough. I knocked on the door and turned around. No one was outside or probably even awake around here. No one would ever know I was here.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes, I think you can." I said turning around. "Hey Darby."
