When I woke up, I got dressed as quickly as I could and got on my bike so I could leave. It was a Sunday so I just went to work and kept my sunglasses on the whole way into the office. God there was so much light in here. I had to close the blinds before I could take them off. Mom was sitting in the chair behind the desk and just laughed. I mean I had walked in a zig-zag pattern to the door, but still, she didn't have to laugh.

"Long night?"

"Yeah. Somethin' like that."

"Well it's about to be an even longer day. We got more repos in."

"Oh goody."

I went to the bathroom and took a pill before sitting down in the chair across from her and started on more goddamn paperwork. We had more repos come in today so we had more paperwork. At least she was here today so it would be fine with us both working on it. We actually got caught up today, which is something our garage hasn't been in a long time. She didn't bring up our conversation from last night all day long. Tig came in and we made small talk, but that's all it was. Our relationship needed work and we both knew it, but I couldn't get closer to him again until I got my head straight. If I did it at the wrong time then he would see right through me.

Eventually I moved my stack over to the couch so I could sit more comfortably. Once the day was coming to an end I went to the bathroom and took one of my pills. Damn, it had been less than 24 hours and I had already taken six of them. As long as no one found out then it would be okay. I went back into the office as mom was filing the last folder.

"I think we are officially caught up."

"Wow. We haven't had that problem in a long time. What do we do now?" I asked, laughing a little.

"Well, I'm going to go home before we get any more calls."

Just then the phone rang.

"You just had to say it didn't you?"

"Sorry. Want me to stay?"

"No no. Go home. I got it. Teller-Morrow." I said, answering the phone.

I got the address of the woman and her car. I gave the information to Opie and he went to pick up the car. I went back to the office and got out the paperwork for a new client. Once she got there I had her fill it out and sign. I went over our side of the paperwork and signed it before filing it. I took another pill and went to the bar in the clubhouse and had a few shots of vodka before pouring a decent amount in a cup and taking it back to the office. Tara was sitting in the chair next to the desk, so I sat down on the couch with my drink and groaned.

"You still that sore?"

"Yeah. It's getting worse. I'm just so goddamn stiff"

"Are you dry?"

"Like the Mojave vagina."

"It's the stress. Your body isn't producing enough estrogen. I can write you something for it. Get it to you tomorrow."

"Thanks, but something tells me you didn't come here to talk about my vagina?"

"No. I didn't. Have you talked to anyone about all of this?"

"That's what I have you for darlin'."

Tig came in then and sat on the desk since I was on the couch. Tara patted my knee and left with a smile.

"You okay? You look tired."

"I'm fine Tig. I am tired though. You know how paperwork wears me out."

"Yeah I know."

"Look. Let's get some dinner and talk this thing out. I hate when we're like this. I love you Tigger."

"I love you too baby. Let's go."

"Wait. Just in case this gets heated, let's eat here. Given who we are I think it's a possibility."

"Yeah. You're probably right. What're you in the mood for?"

"Surprise me."

"Alright. I'll be right back. Don't go anywhere."

"I won't. Tig?"

"Yeah?"

"You goin on the charity ride with the guys?"

"Yeah. We leave in two days."

"How long you gonna be gone?"

"Just one day."

"Hm. Did the uh, cortisone help your hands?"

"Yeah."

"They still hurt?"

"Some."

"I could get you some more. Before your trip."

"I'm fine without it."

"I know."

"Maybe some time away will help you. Ya know, get past… whatever this is."

"Yeah. I'm getting there." I said, walking over and grabbing his hands. I held his hands in mine and brought them to my lips, kissed them, and held them against my heart. He looked hesitant. He didn't want to hurt me. I put my arms around his neck and kissed him. He slowly circled my waist and kissed me back.

When we broke away it was only because air was becoming a necessity. I stared into his eyes and hoped that mine were conveying what I wanted. I wanted him to know that I was trying and I really am starting to get past it. He pecked me again before stepping back.

"I'm gonna go grab dinner. Wait for me?"

"Always." I stood in the doorway and watched him drive away from the garage.

After he was gone, I went into the bathroom and took another pill and was high enough to be okay with this conversation. I couldn't tell him what actually happened, but maybe I could explain a little about how my head is doing. Piney walked into the office when I came back. I didn't even know that he was still here.

"Got the mail. Sorry it's so late."

"It's alright. Anything interesting?"

"Just bills. Oh and this envelope. It has your name on it."

"My name? Let me see." I reached for the stack of envelopes. The one with my name on it was a large Manila envelope. "Thanks Piney."

"Yeah. I'm headed out. You good being alone here?"

"Yeah. I'm good. Everyone else is gone?"

"Yeah."

"Alright. See you tomorrow."

"See ya later kid."

I leaned back in the chair and opened the package. It was a Shermans' bag. Why would someone send me a Shermans' bag in the mail? I opened that bag up and immediately dropped it down onto the desk. I raised up and pulled out what was inside and held it in my hands. I just stared down at it. I can't believe that they would have sent me this. And here, at work, where anyone could have seen it. God, I was shaking and taking deep breaths. My lip started to quiver and I sucked it in. I could not cry again. I was just starting to get my life back. They cannot do this to me again.

I got up and went to my car. I would apologize to Tig later. Right now I had to find them and end this. I had to find them. They could not do this to me. They could not use me like a pawn in their game. They could not hurt me and my family and get away with it. They could not send me the goddamn mask in the mail.
