When I got off the elevator, Tara was waiting for me by the door.
"Sorry, I got held up."
"That's alright." She said.
We walked back to my car and went by the grocery store. Once we got a few things that I needed at the house, I took her with me back to my mom's place. We went inside and I set the bags down. I took the clip out of my gun and put it in the bowl by the door with my keys, then I went over to the bags and started to unload the groceries. Tara walked over to my gun and just stared at it.
I looked over and saw her. "Still have the one mom gave you?"
"No. I got rid of it after Cohen left."
I nodded my head. "Wait here." I walked upstairs to my room and went into my closet. I grabbed the two large hat cases that I had on the top shelf and walked back downstairs. I set them down on the table and took the lids off. They were both full of guns.
"Jesus Christ. Do you and your parents really need this many guns?"
"These are just mine." She looked up at me concerned. "Mom has two more just like this and dad has more than that." I handed her a revolver out of one box. "Here. See how this feels."
She held it in her hands, turning it. "It's okay. It's not too heavy."
".38. That'll blow a good hole." I put two 9 millimeters in my bag and a couple boxes of bullets. "Let's go." I grabbed my keys and walked out the door.
"Where?"
"You'll see."
We drove over to Cara Cara and I went inside for a minute to grab some posters. I came back out and pulled over a cart from the junk outside to sit everything on. I took out the guns and loaded them and then I loaded hers. I hung one of the posters and the wall and started shooting at it. I hit the girl's knee, both tits, and her forehead.
I looked over at Tara and stepped back so she could shoot. "Squeeze slowly. It'll have some kick."
She shot the wall next to the poster a couple of times. "No." I said, putting my gun down and standing behind her. I put my hands under hers for support. "Here. You're gripping too hard. You wanna hold it firm, but let it breathe. Alright. Put the sight on what you want dead. Then take a breath." We both took a deep breath. "And…" she fired
She hit the poster in the neck and the shoulder. "Good." I said.
I walked over to the cart and grabbed another poster, hanging it up on top of the previous one. "Is it always like this?" She asked.
"No. You came back to him at a bad time." She raised her eyebrows and looked away. "It settles down. Gets down right boring. I promise."
Ima drove up when we walked back over to the cart. That bitch really didn't know when to quit. And she had the worst timing. Tara picked up the revolver, pointed it at her, and spun the chambers. "That was fun." She said when Ima ran inside.
"Then you're gonna love this." I said, picking up my gun.
I shot one round into the back of her tire and looked at Tara smiling. Then we both just started shooting her car, windows, tires, everything. The bitch deserved it. And it was fun.
We shot for another hour before packing up and heading back to the garage. I went into the office to get some paperwork to bring to work on at the hospital and Tara went to talk to Jax outside. Once I got it all packed up, I joined them over by my car.
"Apparently there was some kind of firearm incident at Cara Cara today." He said, looking at me.
"Huh. You don't say." I smiled while opening my door.
"I love you."
"You better."
I got in the car and rolled down my window.
"You going back to the hospital?"
"Yeah. Gonna do the work there. I wanna be with him."
"Can I ride with?" Tara asked.
"Sure."
"I don't know if you two should go anywhere else together today."
"Relax VP. No more guns today. I promise."
"No more shooting up porn stars' cars either."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
We all laughed and he walked back over to the clubhouse. We were on our way to the hospital when I decided that I had to talk to Wayne first.
"I gotta make a quick stop. That okay?"
"Yeah." I pulled into the lot and parked, keeping the car on. "Stay here."
I got out and went inside the station. Hale and Unser were sitting propped against a desk talking. When Hale saw me, he stood up and looked at Wayne.
"Uh oh. There's something I gotta tell you." He said.
"You girls swapping diaries again?" I said, walking up to them.
Wayne looked at him, he looked angry.
"I needed some information." He said.
"Aw shit." Wayne said, looking at me.
"Oh you have no idea." I crossed my arms.
"Come on. I'd prefer the feds didn't see the beating I'm about to take."
We walked over to the holding cells in the back. It was the most private place other than his office.
"I had to tell Hale. He was getting seduced by Zobelle's 'I'm good for Charming' bullshit. I'm sorry."
"And what happened to Tig, it was definitely Zobelle?"
"Can't prove shit, but I know it in my gut. We all do."
"And nothing I know could have stopped that blast." I think I was trying to convince myself more than him. He knew that too. "Dad taking on what happened to me would've, would've made it worse."
"That's right."
"I'm sorry."
"Hey hey, this ain't on you sweetheart." He put his hand on my arm.
I waved my hand in front of my face a little and touched my forehead. "I'm starting to… I'm starting to think that um… that it's all on me."
"No. It ain't on you Amelia. It's on that prick Zobelle. He's the one to blame. Now you. You understand me?"
"Yeah." I nodded. "Thanks Wayne." I gave him a sad, teary eyed smile.
We stood for a minute while I composed myself. Then I went back out to the car with Tara.
"Everything okay?"
"Yeah. It's fine."
I drove to the hospital. She went up to work some more and I sat next to Tig. I held his hand and talked to him for a while before pulling out the paperwork and starting on it.
After working for a little while, my mom called me. "Hey ma. What's up?"
"Hey, I wanna do a dinner tonight. Everyone. Whole family."
"Mom, I don't think that's such a good idea."
"Nope. It's perfect. Come home soon. I need help cooking."
"Yes ma'am."
I hung up the phone and started putting my things away. Tara came in with a confused look on her face.
"My mother called you, didn't she?"
"Yeah. Something about a dinner. Now."
"Yeah. She called me too. She needs help cooking." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Well then. I guess I'll meet you there after I finish my rounds."
"Alright. See ya."
I kissed Tig's forehead and walked out to my car. I headed towards the house. I had a strange feeling that this dinner was going to suck.
