"I see you found what you were looking for."

"Oh. Yeah. Takes the edge off, ya know."

"Yeah. Well, I got the meat cooking."

"Ok. Cool. Listen Dawn, I know we don't really get along all that well, but I was hoping that we could maybe put that behind us and get to know each other."

"And you needed to be high to have this conversation?"

"No, it's not you. There's a lot going on right now and like I said, it takes the edge off."

I started moving around the kitchen and making dinner. We got the lasagna in the oven and then made the bread. Once that was in the oven, I started on the salad.

"So," I said, taking a sip of wine and lighting a cigarette. "What have you been up to?"

"Okay look. We don't have to do the pleasantries alright. You're sleeping with my dad and you're younger than me, so it won't last. We don't have to do the whole backstory."

"Okay. Fine. I was just trying to be nice, but you need to listen and listen good. I love your dad and that's never going to end. Regardless, you are in my house and you will show me the respect I deserve. Understand?"

"Yes, your highness." She said, with an eye roll.

I sighed just as the door was opening.

"Mom. Thank God. How do you feel?"

"I'm fine. You didn't have to do this dinner all by yourself."

"I had some help. Hey dad." I said, hugging him as he kissed my head. " You sure you're okay?"

"I'm fine, Amelia. You okay… with that?" She asked, nodding her head towards Dawn.

"I'm pretty sure I have to be. I told Jax to make sure the guys showed up."

"Good. Let me help you."

"Hell no. You just got out of the hospital. Sit your ass down."

"Come on Gem. She's obviously in charge right now." Clay laughed.

"It's pretty much done. Just waiting on the beep."

"The party can begin!" Bobby said as he lead the charge into the house, causing everyone to laugh.

The guys funneled in, all hugging and kissing me and Gemma. Happy even picked me up and spun me around. They were so happy, it was rare with us lately and all I wanted was to cling to it. The timer went off and I turned off the oven before getting out the bread and lasagna. Jax carried over the lasagna for me and dad got the salad. Everyone was crowded around the table, some sitting, some standing. Tara was still in the kitchen talking to Dawn and even Lyla was here with Opie's kids.

"So, what're we talking about?" I asked, coming up to Tara.

"Oh, Dawn was just telling me why your hair is so big."

"Oh really? Well, why is that?"

"Apparently it's because it's full of secrets."

"Isn't that a line from Mean Girls?"

"Yeah. I think so." She said and we all laughed.

Jax and dad started arguing about Cara Cara. God, that porn studio caused more problems than it solved, but it wasn't my business. Speaking of porn, Luann should be here by now. She always shows up early to help get things ready. Did Jax forget to call her? Oh well, either she'd be here or she wouldn't. That was honestly the least of my concerns at the moment.

"Your little stint as porn king is over, do you understand me!?" Clay yelled.

"This ain't on me. I'm not the one who made a bad call and got us all sent to jail." Jax fired back.

"That wasn't my fault. We all voted."

"Yeah, well-"

"Excuse me!" Hale said, startling everyone. Where the hell did he come from?

"Deputy Hale, what can we do for you?" I asked, sweetly.

"I just got some news, thought you should hear it from me. We found Luann Delaney half an hour ago."

"What do you mean, you found her?"

"She was beaten to death and dumped, with her car, out by the ravine. I'm sorry." He turned and left.

Everyone was in shock. No one moved.

"Did you do this?" Clay asked Jax.

"Me? You're really trying to put this on me?"

"You were the one involved with Cara Cara. So, did you do this?"

"This ain't on me man. I'm not the one killing women!"

"Enough!" I yelled, slamming the plate onto the table, shattering it.

I sank into the chair next to mom and grabbed her hand. Luann was family. She didn't deserve this.

"What is happening to us?" She asked.

"This ends now." Jax said. "I'm going Nomad."

"What?" I said. "That won't fix anything."

"The arguing has to stop, Amelia. I have to take myself out of it."

"Splitting us up isn't the answer. Guys," I said, turning to the club. "Can you give us a minute?"

"Yeah. We'll see you tomorrow." Bobby said and ushered everyone else out. "I'll take Dawn back to my place." He whispered to me.

"Thank you. Sit." I said to dad and Jax. "You too doc."

"Jax you're not going Nomad."

"That's not up to you."

"Shut up! I have been trying to hold this family together for months now and I'm not going to let you make an off-the-cuff decision that will pull us apart forever."

"Holding us together my ass! You've been the queen of pushing us away lately."

"Regardless. You are all going to listen to me. Right now!" I sat down and waited for Jax to do the same. Once he had, I continued. "Look, we need to stop fighting each other and focus on the actual enemies we have. Zobelle is killing us."

"I know you don't like him, Amelia, but he is not the cause of these problems. That would be your dear old dad."

"I am not-"

"Shut it! I won't say it again. It is my turn to talk. I know I have made mistakes lately, but you need to think about this. Going Nomad will leave you unprotected. You'll have to leave Abel. That can't be what you really want."

"I have to do this. If I don't then someone else is going to wind up dead."

"That's a cop-out and you know it. You're running away, plain and simple. Grow a pair and stand up for your family."

"I can't do that Amelia. I won't be gone forever."

"We'll vote tomorrow." Clay said.

"Dad!"

"No Amelia! This is club business. You're an old lady. Act like it."

"Come on." Jax said, grabbing Tara's hand and walking out the door.

"How could you do that?"

"It's his call, Amelia. Not yours." He said, standing and walking upstairs.

I just sank in the chair next to mom, stunned. "You've been awfully quiet. I know you have an opinion."

"Honestly, I don't know what to say. Between Luann, Tig, Dawn, you, and not Jax. I just… I feel like my family is falling apart." She cried.

"Shhh." I said, pulling her into my arms, soothing her hair. "It's all gonna be okay. I'm gonna fix it. I promise."

"You fix everything lately. What would I do without you."

"None of you would survive." I said, trying to make her laugh.

Thankfully she did and pulled back. I wiped the tears from her cheeks and rubbed my thumb across it. "It's all gonna be okay."

"How do you know that."

"I just do. We're always okay. As long as we stick together, then we can handle anything."

"But we're not together. Jax is leaving."

"No, he isn't. I'm going to fix it. I promise."
