It was the middle of the night, the moonlight was shining down onto the kingdom floor, the calm and cool breeze blew through the air of the city grounds. A very peaceful night for the residents of the capital, except for two who had other plans...
In a large estate, located far from capitol grounds was a mansion, and As the bright moonlight illuminated, reflecting Through one of the manor's windows, a few slight noises could be heard from one of the rooms.

Sunlight spilled in through one of the nearby windows, shining through the rooms of the manor signaling the start of a new day. One said room that was receiving all this light had the curtains drawn over the windows but alas they left a small space allowing the sun to shine through anyway.
This small occurrence caused the boy who was comfortably laying in bed to stir in his sleep as the sun started to hit his eye. Giving a sigh of frustration he attempted to shut out this annoyance, but unfortunately couldn't do so as something was holding him down by the chest.
Looking down at what was holding him down, it was none other than the blue-haired girl who was cuddling up to him, putting her head down onto his chest preventing him from getting up. Not trying to wake her up, he tried to slowly lay back down onto the bed but alas his efforts were in vain as the girl was eventually awoken.
[Rem: Subaru-Kun?] Rem said rubbing her eye with a slight yawn
[Subaru: Oh my bad Rem did I wake you?]
[Rem: Yes, but it was a nice way to wake up]
Rem said with a bright smile, proceeding to put her head back down onto his chest as she wrapped her arms around him in a tight embrace. With a deep sigh, Subaru layed back down onto the bed, caressing the blue-haired maidens soft blue hair.
[Subaru: …I still can't believe it's been over a year now]
Looking up towards the ceiling Subaru pounders on everything that's happened so far, him entering this world and meeting Emilia, his argument with Emilia at the capital and his two fights with the white whale and great rabbit respectively at the sanctuary, him becoming Emilia's knight, and finally him getting into a closer relationship with the blue-haired girl before him, he couldn't believe how far he's gotten.
[Subaru: I would have never thought I guy like me would have made it this far, heh, you know sometimes I can't tell if it's real or not]
[Rem: hmmm, I don't know about Subaru-Kun, but Rem feels like she's dreaming every day just being here with you right now but…if you're worried if it's not real then...]
Leaning up towards him Rem gives him a kiss on the lips filled with love, wrapping her arms around his neck as she continued to kiss him passionately staying like that for a few seconds before finally pulling away to see Subaru's face now bright red, seeing that her little trick worked, Rem gave him a little smile.
[Rem: Do you still believe it's not real Subaru-Kun?]

With a little giggle Rem then proceeds to continue cuddling next to Subaru rubbing his chest with one of her hands.

Although unfortunately, Emilia was undecided about her feelings for Subaru, their relationship had formed into something more of a very close friendship, she acted like the sister Subaru never had that would scold him if he did something bad.
With a deep sigh, Subaru then holds Rem's hand and tries to get up from the bed.
[Subaru: Well looks like it's about time for us to get up now, don't want Nee-Sama to get mad now]
Saying this, Subaru tries to get up from the bed but he's held down in place by Rem.
[Rem: do we have to go so soon? The morning just started] Rem said while rubbing her face in his chest.
[Subaru: This isn't like you, Rem, usually you'd be up way earlier than me, what would Nee-sama say about that?]
Subaru teased with a smirk making Rem pout turning her head to the side.

Seeing the girl blush when she said this, Subaru now understood why she wanted to stay a bit longer with him. Opening the door leading to the long narrow hallways of the manor, he then starts to walk by beginning to walk passing many rooms on the way Subaru goes to where he always went to visit first thing in the morning. Reaching his destination It was a room in the manner much different compared to the others as it was much bigger in stature even noticeable from the outside, a room only fit for royalty.
[Subaru: "I wonder if Emilia-tan is busy today"]
This room belonged to the royal candidate, Emilia. After waking up and getting ready for the day, Subaru would always visit Emilia first thing in the morning, so going up to the large wooden doors, Subaru proceeds to give it a few light knocks.
Knock, Knock, knock
As he knocked a few times, Subaru waited a few seconds for a response, "no response huh". When Subaru gave his knocks no answer was given. "Maybe she didn't hear me?" Deciding to give it another try, Subaru again tapped lightly on the door, but once again he got no response from the other side.
[Subaru: "Maybe she's busy"]
Of course, Subaru knew this, she was a candidate for the throne after all and thus had responsibilities to adorn by so Subaru didn't want to intrude on her business but just to make sure, Subaru went for a few more knocks but was cut off by a familiar voice before proceeding.
[Ram: "I see Barusu is already up early this morning"]
Looking over to see where the voice was coming from, Subaru then looks behind him to see where the source was, only for his eyes to be met with red.
[Subaru: "Oh, It's just Nee-sama"]
[Ram: "Well who else would it be? And what are you doing here so early, you usually sleep In like a deadbeat"]
[Subaru: "Heh, I can say the same thing about you, but I actually came here to see if Emilia-tan was busy right now"]
[Ram: "unfortunately, Emilia-sama is busy at the moment, she has lots of studying to do thus must not be bothered by trivial things, so I'd advise you to not trouble her at the moment"]
[Subaru: "I see...well I guess I'll come later the-]
Before he could finish he was cut off by Ram again.
[Ram: "Not so fast Barusu, since you are a worker at this manor you have responsibilities as well just like Rem and myself that you too must abide by, so I came here to give you this list of chores you must complete for the morning before breakfast"]
Handing him a sheet of paper, Subaru then takes it from her hands only for his eyes to widen at how long the list was.
[Subaru: "These are just the morning chores!?"]
[Ram: "Indeed, I assume Barusu has no objections to this arrangement]
As Ram looked at him with her same blank expression, as usual, Subaru knew he couldn't fight back against her so instead let out a deep sigh.
[Subaru...No…]
[Ram: "Great, well get to work Barusu, Breakfast will be ready In an hour so I suggest you finish quickly if you plan to eat]
As she said this, Ram then turned around in the opposite directions and began to walk, but stopped as her name was called out, Turning still with her same neutral expression.
[Subaru: "Ram...so will Emilia-tan be busy the entire day or?"]
[Ram: "Unfortunately Emilia-sama will be busy for the majority of the day, so Barusu won't have any time to speak with her] Ram said brushing Subaru off with her same neutral expression
Hearing this, Subaru brought his head down in defeat, seeing this Ram then wore a smug expression while turning to walk away.
[Ram: "Besides, Emilia-sama, doesn't have time to deal with Barus's perverted schemes today, so I guess You'll just have to deal with it]
[Subaru: "Why you!"]
Subaru said as he crushed the list of chores In his hand from frustration at Ram's sense of "humor" letting out another sigh.
[Subaru: "I should probably finish these chores quickly, don't want Ram not feeding me now"]
Walking down the manor's hallways still with the long list of chores in hand, Subaru looks down at the list and contemplates what he should do first. "Clean the vases, huh seems simple enough" With this new task in mind Subaru then pockets the list of chores then heads off to do just that.
As he reached his destination, along the hallways were a plethora of vases set on one side of the mansion's walls, walking over towards one of the vases, Subaru ran his index finger across it and brought it up to his face, and to his surprise, it was completely covered in dust.
[Subaru: "When was the last time these were cleaned? If only Ram was as hard of a worker as Rem, then this place might not be so dirty...heh and she calls me the deadbeat, Well don't worry, Natsuki Subaru is on the case!"]
Taking out a rag, Subaru goes to work, cleaning every and all specs of dust off each and every vace. After a few minutes had passed of his diligent handiwork, Subaru wiped a bit of sweat off the top of his brow admiring his work.
[Subaru: Well, looks like everything is spotless, you did good Natsuki Subaru, you did good]
With a smug smile, Subaru pats himself on the shoulder Satisfied with his accomplishment. With a happy smile, Subaru then proceeds to pull the list of chores out of his pants pocket and scrolls his eye's down to the next set of chores.
[Subaru: "trim the bushes outside by the courtyard, seems simple enough"]
Pocketing the list of chores again, Subaru then heads towards his next goal in mind. As he walked down the long hallways of the manor passing through many of the vases he cleaned on the way, As he reached the end of the hallway that led outdoors to where the courtyard was located.
As he reached the outskirts of the courtyard where the bushes and shrubs were kept, Subaru looked at all the bushes and his eyes went wide. "Why does it look like a storm passed through here!?" Subaru thought in astonishment as all the bushes that were in front of him were almost completely destroyed. Giving it a few more seconds of thought he then realized this must be the doing of the pink-haired demon. "That clueless Oni does she even take her job seriously!?" Subaru thought, with a sigh of frustration he then looked over to the side to find a pair of trimmers, taking the trimmers, Subaru then got to work, cutting each and everyone getting all of them in the right places perfectly aligned fixing what Ram did.
After half an hour had passed, Subaru was finally finished cutting all the shrubs and bushes, making it seem like nothing was wrong with them in the first place, and with a look of satisfaction, he then wiped the sweat off his forehead admiring his work.
[Subaru: looks pretty good, you know if I keep this up maybe I can get a raise from Ros-chi]
Thinking about this Subaru then imagines all the things he could buy for Rem if he got enough money from working, and all the dates he could take her on. With a smile from the thought, Subaru was then snapped back to reality of a voice calling his name.
[?: Oi, capn, what are you doing out here?]
Turning his head around to see who was calling him it was none other than the blonde-haired tiger.
[Subaru: Garfiel?]
[Garfiel: yup it's none other than my amazin self, so what brings you here capn?]
[Subaru: Well I just came out here to fix Ram's mistake that's all]
At this Garfiel crosses his arms with a "tch"
[Garfiel: That woman really needs to stop being so lazy, making capn do her work for her]
[Subaru: ha well I don't that will be happening any time soon] Subaru said
As they both laughed at Ram's "work" Garfiel then uncrossed his arms then looked towards Subaru with a smirk on his face. Seeing Garfiel's smirk, Subaru gulped as he knew exactly what he wanted to do.
[Garfiel: so capn, since you're already out here already, why don't we have a little spar? Just you and me]
As he said, Subaru started to back up, waving his hands in front of his face trying to stop Garfeil as he slowly started to walk towards him.
[Subaru: Garfiel, as much as I would love to spar with you, unfortunately, it's almost time for breakfast so we can't spar now right?]
Subaru said as he tried to deflate the situation but unfortunately, Garfiel wasn't letting up so easily as he continued to get closer to Subaru.
[Garfiel: come on capn, it will only take a minute, we will make it just in time for breakfast]
"I'm dead" Subaru thought as Garfiel was now inches from his face, luckily to his rescue a voice called from behind them, halting Garfiel.
[?: Now what are you two doing out here, Breakfast is almost ready]
The person who stopped Garfiel was none other than the grey-haired merchant, Otto.
[Garfiel: Oi, me and cap'n here were just going to have a little sparring match, nothing you need to worry about]
Otto: I find that very hard to believe, now why don't you let Natsuki-san go he can spar with you later]
[Garfiel: huh]
[Subaru: ...thanks man...]
Out of the three boys, Otto was always the voice of reason, so he was always the one to keep Subaru and Garfiel in check when they were acting like children. But unfortunately, Garfiel wasn't having it today so he continued on anyway, seeing that not even the words of Otto could stop Garfiel, Subaru then came up with an idea.
[Subaru: you know Garfiel, Otto here really would love to spar with you, he's had no one to talk with the entire day, you'd really make his day if you sparred with him]
As he said, Garfiel went "ohh" and turned around to face Otto who now looked shocked at what Subaru pulled.
[Garfiel: So that's the reason why you wanted to stop our spar? Then why didn't you just say so I'd gladly spar with you]
Saying this Garfiel then brings his attention to Otto, seeing that Garfiel no longer had his eyes on him, Subaru took the opportunity to speed past Otto back into the mansion.
[Otto: why must you do this to me Natsuki-san!] hearing the screams of Otto as he tried to run away from Garf, Subaru sighed a sigh of relief.
[Subaru: Thanks Otto, I really owe you one]
Thanking Otto in his head for his "sacrifice" Subaru then speeds through the hallways of the manor until he finally reaches the kitchen.
[Subaru: heh, that was a close call, if I hadn't run I would have been mincemeat]
With this thought, Subaru then brings his attention towards the kitchen and looks around to see everything in order, and with that in the center of the kitchen cooking, he sees both Rem and Ram putting the finishing touches on breakfast for the day, Rem humming a very beautiful hum while Ram struggled to wash some plates.
At this, Subaru let himself be known as he said "yo" walking into the kitchen. Hearing the voice of Subaru, Rem turns around and waves at him while greeting him with a smile while Ram on the other hand just looks at him with her usual blank expression.
[Rem: Ah Subaru-Kun you made it just in time]
[Subaru: Yeah, I first had to clean up Nee-sama's mess before coming here]
As he said this Ram just gave Subaru a look of disgust as she interjected.
[Ram: Ha, don't spout such nonsense, I don't want Rem to hear your foolishness, you already corrupted her enough]
[Subaru: then do you want to explain all that mess outside!?]
Subaru said as he pointed outside one of the windows which led to the courtyard.
[Ram: Oh you saw, yeah I know I really am just great am I?] Ram said with a smug tone
As the two went back and forth with their bickering, Rem jumped in between.
[Rem: Please don't fight, I'm sure both Subaru-Kun and Nee-sama did good, but you two should know better than to fight]
When Rem said this, She shook her head as she scolded both of them, going over the countertop of the table. Rem then picked up two plates and handed them to Ram.
[Rem: Nee-sama, would you be so kind as to go set the table? I'll be there soon, I just need to speak with Subaru-kun]
Not wanting to get Rem upset, Ram obligingly took the plates from her sister's hands and went out towards the dining room. With Ram now out of sight, Rem then goes over to Subaru with a pout and pulls on his ear getting a yelp from him in return.
[Subaru: Owowowow, alright I'm sorry!] saying this Rem then lets go of Subaru's now red ear as he held onto it.
[Rem: Subaru-Kun should know better than to rile Nee-sama up like that, you know how she gets]
[Subaru: my bad my bad, I'm sorry, Nee-sama knows I'm just joking]
Putting a hand behind his head, Subaru apologizes in which Rem gives him a smile and goes up to hug him.
[Rem: I know Subaru-Kun is trying his best to make an impression on Nee-sama, I'm sure she'll come around soon]
[Subaru: heh, I hope so…]
Although a year has passed, Subaru has still been having some trouble getting Ram to accept his and Rem's relationship as a couple, even though Ram had her objections questioning Rem's taste in men, she would never interfere with their relationship since Rem was happy with it after all.
Backing away from Subaru as she finished hugging him, she then brought her attention to Subaru's uniform which looked out of place as his tie wasn't fixed properly. Going up towards it she ties it properly and puts it into the right place.
[Rem: Subaru-kun needs to make himself more presentable, a handsome man such as yourself shouldn't be walking around with such an unorganized suit]
Saying this, Rem then went on her tippy toes and gave Subaru a quick peck on the cheek, making Subaru blush a bit.
[Subaru:...yea-yeah what would I do without you Rem?]
[Rem: hmmm, I'm not sure, but I think the same way if Subaru-Kun wasn't with me as well]
Saying this with a smile, Rem then walks over to the countertop again and picks a few more plates, and hands a few to Subaru.
[Rem: Now then everyone must be waiting we shouldn't keep them waiting too long]
Subaru: Sounds good to me, I can't wait to try Rem's cooking again!]
With a bright smile, Subaru and Rem walk out of the kitchen begin to walk In the direction of the dining room but before they arrive Rem whispers something in Subaru's ear which only he could hear.
[Rem: Tonight, please meet with Rem In her room]
As she said this only Subaru knew the meaning of these words. Growing a blush on his face, Subaru responds with a simple small nod in which Rem smiles as they both reach their destination.
Arriving at the dining room, Subaru looked around and saw everyone sitting at the dining table, Garfiel and Otto were there, Otto looking quite ruffed up, Beatrice was also there sipping her tea, with Frederica sitting next to Ram, Emilia was there as well. As both Rem and Subaru entered the dining hall Emilia turned to both of them and greeted them with a bright smile while waving at them.
Getting closer to the table, Emilia gestured for Subaru to take a seat as she saved a chair for him to sit down In. Taking the offer Subaru sits right beside Emilia as she flashes him another smile.
As everyone sat down in their respective seats both Rem and Ram went around the dining room table handing out everyone's meal, getting closer to Subaru's side of the table Rem hands Subaru his plate with a lovely smile.
Looking down at what was served it was fluffy pancakes for breakfast, but looking down at his plate in particular it looked like it was much more stacked than everyone else's decorated with a plethora of extra toppings.
Looking down at his plate, Subaru's eyes widened, after looking down at his place in the corner of his eye he could tell everyone else was staring at him making him slightly blush in the process from embarrassment as both they and he himself knew exactly how they got there.
After everything was finally set, Rem then took the opportunity to sit on the right side of Subaru as Emilia occupied the left side.

Red couldn't even describe the color of Subaru's face with all this attention on him.
Getting closer to Subaru Emilia then puts her hand out towards Rem.

Emilia said trying to get the fork from Rem, but Rem backed up, pulling the fork out of Emilia's reach.
