Edward sat across from Carlisle with a dark expression and an intense glare. He was reading through Carlisle's mind but frowned when he couldn't get the answers he wanted.
"They didn't tell you?" Edward questioned.
Carlisle sighed and shook his head.
"Alice didn't think it would be wise to tell anyone where they would be going. I'm afraid she's still wary of me so long as you're around."
Edward raised an eyebrow and Carlisle saw a slight flash of fear in Edward's darkening eyes.
"Edward it's okay for you to feel afraid...after all, you know without reading my mind what is going to happen."
He growled at Carlisle and angrily spat,
"Which is why I need to find Bella before that happens. I can't lose her Carlisle; now help me to find Bella. We should be able to get her scent and hunt her down before Alice can dam her forever."
He thought Edward being in Alaska would have helped him, but he was still consumed and obsessed with Bella. He could see the monster emerging from Edward and he knew in his heart he couldn't help.
"Edward I'm sorry, but I am not going to lose what I built by going against them. Everyone wants Alice and Bella to be together."
"Even Rosalie?" Edward questioned.
"Even her, Edward. She sees how happy Alice is and that they truly want to commit themselves to each other. It's truly a wonderful feeling to turn a human into a vampire if they are eternal mates...
"Alice is taking Bella away from me as we speak and you're still talking as if we have souls. We lost our souls when we were changed. I lost mine when you changed me and for what, to suffer and feel this pain in my heart that one person who made me feel alive again is going to be stolen and damned because of you."
Edward was trying to guilt Carlisle but he stood his ground. Alice had every reason to be cautious and careful in their plans, Edward was unhinged and consumed by Bella's song. Instead of calming the beast, Bella's blood was only making Edward more bloodthirsty and horrific. The humanity in Edward was lost and there was nothing Carlisle could do. He knew what mates should be and he finally accepted that Edward was never Bella's mate.
"I'm sorry Edward, but I truly see how Alice and Bella are with each other; it's the same way as Esme and I act. What you're feeling based on my research of our kind is an insatiable bloodlust because her blood sings to you. A person's blood can call to you but not be a mate...it's like with James when he went after Bella and Alice when she was human."
Edward snarled at Carlisle and tightened his fists.
"I'm nothing like him; how dare you say that Carlisle." Edward hissed.
Carlisle crossed his arms and shook his head at his son.
"No...if anything you might be worse. You love her blood and connected with her, or at least tried. You lured her in and you developed your fantasies of a life with her. You wanted to break her spirit, have her be devoted to you so you could feed on her throughout her mortal life. If anything, you trying to be a perfect gentleman and be this torn soul was an act to hide the monster you were becoming when you first took in her scent. If anything, you are a predator...one I'm afraid I will not support in their conquest."
Edward slammed his fist on the table. He and Carlisle glared at one another and Edward could sense he was losing.
"Don't be a fool Carlisle...please help me. I can't lose Bella." Edward begged.
"I only agreed to meet you to check on you and to warn you. Your actions are becoming consumed with revenge and your mind is becoming feral in bloodlust for Bella. You need to move on Edward, for your own sake and happiness. Alice is going to make Bella a vampire and there's nothing you can do since none of us will help you to stop it. "
Edward leaned back in the booth and scoffed bitterly. He made a mistake to come here. This was a waste of time and once more, Carlisle probably did this to waste his time so Bella could escape him. Carlisle tried to reach for Edward's hand but Edward retracted it out of anger.
"Edward...please stop this pursuit and come home. We are all planning to move soon and it would be for the best for you to remain with us. It's dangerous for you to be alone..."
"Dangerous, you hurt me Carlisle with that word." Edward spoke coldly.
"Well it will be. It's not wise for you to be alone. We all love you, even if it seems we are against you. You've done well for yourself until recently. Don't let this experience transform you for the worst."
Edward got up and glared at Carlisle.
"So you really don't know where they could have gone? That is all I'm asking you and the only reason I bothered to come back."
Carlisle shook his head and Edward sighed.
"You're going to be sorry for not helping me and you better hope I find Bella. If I don't find her and if she's a monster like us...there's going to be hell to pay."
Carlisle raised an eyebrow and his face grew more concerned as he saw Edward's smile turn sinister.
"What will you do Edward, answer me." Carlisle demanded firmly.
Edward shook his head and chuckled darkly.
"I don't have to answer you Carlisle. Tell Esme I'm sorry, but I'm not going back to you all. I have something I must do and if I fail...I'll just have to move on."
Edward left the diner and Carlisle sighed deeply. He paid for his drink and left a really good tip before leaving moments after Edward. He prayed that Edward would find himself again and return without doing any damage. There was only so much Carlisle could let slide for his first son of sorts and he needed to protect his remaining family. He also had a responsibility to keep Bella safe until her special night with Alice. He just hopes Edward would give up, but the look in Edward's darkening eyes shows he's made his choices. What they will lead to only made Carlisle worry and hoped Alice would do what she needed to do.
Kalispell, Montana-One week later
"Bella, pass me the chalk will you, I need to tend to my cue stick so I don't slip my shots." Julian spoke with a soft chuckle.
Bella cracked a light smile as she handed him the chalk. They were spending time together in a pool hall while Alice was getting their room ready for their night. It was a night Bella wanted ever since she and Alice got together and realized they loved each other. It was going to be a tender and sensual moment and it was one Bella was thinking about as she struck the balls. Julian saw Bella wasn't too focused as the white ball ended up in one of the pockets, causing him to chuckle.
"Losing focus Bella? And here I thought you could keep your head in the game but you're clearly excited for tonight." Julian grinned.
Bella's cheeks blushed lightly and her heart raced slightly.
"I mean I am...but it is a big moment...life changing; literally life changing."
Julian nodded as he understood as he shot the balls with his massive cue stick.
"I know it will be Bella, it was life changing to all of us. Least yours was one you chose and you are fully aware of it. I made a choice without knowing fully what it was and...well Alice and Cynthia were changed to prevent death from a monster. You can find a bit of soft comfort in that you have a choice Bells."
Bella nodded as she took her next shot. Julian glanced over Bella's outfit and grinned somewhat slightly at her outfit. It was a far cry from her old clothes; black leather jacket, a red long sleeved corset blouse that showed her breasts, leather pants that hugged her ass, and steeled toe boots. The only reason guys weren't over her was because Julian's presence intimidated almost everyone in this place.
"I'm guessing Alice loves you in leather?" Julian questioned softly.
"Not only her, I love it too. I love how confident it makes me feel and I'm loving more how clothes fit my body now."
Julian chuckled softly but nodded in agreement.
"You've come a long way from being just a very insecure, shy, meek, and defenseless girl. I love the woman I see and glad, no I'm proud, to call you a sister."
Bella laughed softly and replied,
"Thanks Jules...means a lot that you and Cynthia care so much about me. Sometimes Charlie would tell me that if he and my mom made it, they would have loved for me to have a brother or sister. Now I can have that, even though in Charlie's scenario I was the older one."
"Yeah you're always going to be the youngest of us Bella, but no frets about that. Age becomes nothing after a while and we simply take the age we feel as our age." Julian mentioned in a whisper.
Bella nodded as they continued their game of pool. No surprise Julian had won this round as he had one all the others previously. He glanced at the time and he chuckled lightly.
"Oh I kept you here longer than I thought. Alice must be done with her plans right now and I'm supposed to bring you back to our home now."
Bella scoffed lightly and teased,
"If it was anyone else, I would assume you prolonged this to have ulterior motives. However, I know we are just having fun. But yes, Alice is expecting me home."
Julian and Bella got into his truck and he drove them back to their cozy cabin house deep in the woods of Kalispell. Bella still couldn't believe they would be spending a good decade here since it looked more like a wooden mansion rather than a house. It had a balcony; gorgeous glass windows, a stone chimney, and a nice outdoor patio with a fire pit. She wondered just how this place remained in such good shape while also being hidden from most people in the state. Julian chuckled and he mentioned,
"I would come here from time to time to upkeep the place. Somehow, I just knew Cyn and I would be here again. Just didn't think this would be a family home and two love nests in one." Julian expressed with warmth in his voice.
Not long did Julian say this, Cynthia came out of the house and went into his arms. She smiled tenderly and kissed his lips softly. Bella cracked a light smile as Cyn pulled away and she couldn't help but be proud at what would happen tonight.
"Now Alice has my number on speed dial in case anything goes wrong. However, I don't think there will be a problem but Julian and I will be camping close by. Next time we see you, you'll be one of us." Cynthia explained.
Bella nodded and she went to hug Cynthia tenderly.
"Thank you...for everything. I didn't think I would be here without you. You saved me." Bella expressed.
Cynthia chuckled and stroked Bella's hair tenderly like an older sister.
"Julian saved you from James and, while yes I helped to break your chains...you got here because of yourself Bella. You saved yourself and I can only imagine how strong of a vampire you'll be when you wake up. You're going to fit in so naturally Bella with us and we will be your forever family." Cynthia expressed warmly.
"You said it Cyn, now give your brother to be a hug now! Last time to hug Bella Swan and soon you'll be Bella Flynt, youngest of our little coven."
Bella chuckled at that and hugged Julian. He twirled Bella a bit off the ground before placing her down gently.
"Thanks. Don't feel you need to return so quickly. You're a couple and you need time for yourselves as well."
The pair nodded and they got into Julian's truck to drive in the woods to camp out for the evening. As soon as Bella walked into the house, she got herself settled onto the couch. She noticed on the low table that Alice had cooked for her and smiled at what was on the table. Bella felt Alice sit beside her and glanced to see a soft playful look on her face.
"I tried to think of what you would want for your last meal since there's so much. Then I recalled the meal you had when I first started to realize I was falling for you and thought it would be a perfect fit."
Alice had prepared a salad, homemade French fries, and a well crafted cheese burger. There was even an ice cold soda to go along with it. Bella smiled warmly as she started to eat. There was a part where Alice felt a bit sad that Bella would never eat human food again; but she knew Bella needed to be a vampire for the vampire law and not just for their love. Bella looked at Alice and she could read Alice's face clearly.
"Alice, you don't have to feel sad about this. You should be happy that the night we've been waiting for is here. Plus this is really delicious Alice and I'm glad this is my last meal of sorts."
Alice managed to giggle at that and patted Bella's knee softly. As Bella continued to eat, Alice glanced at how their night was going to be and was at peace. Nothing is expected to go wrong, which made Alice confident in what she was going to do to Bella. She would claim her mate and turn her, being able to taste her blood while connecting them together with her venom. It's been a night Alice had been waiting for since discovering that Bella was her mate. Desire flooded Alice as she checked out Bella and loved the leather and corset blouse on her. She truly dressed to tempt her and it was working wonders on Alice's arousal.
Bella loved the attention she got from Alice and she was looking forward to spending the rest of her life with her. As she finished her meal, Bella was mentally preparing herself for what was about to happen. Alice would romance her first in order to try and have the pain of the venom be remedied by the high of sex. Still Bella knew the venom would be intense, almost like her body would be on fire as the venom rampages her body. If she wanted forever for Alice, she needed to have Alice bite her.
"What are you thinking about?" Alice questioned softly.
"Honestly...I'm mentally preparing my mind for when you bite me. I know it's supposed to be pleasurable, but I won't lie and say I'm not worried about the pain I will feel."
Alice took Bella's hand and gently kissed her knuckles.
"It will seem like it's endless...but just focus on me. When your vision goes for a time, keep me in your mind and you'll pull through. Your heart will fight the venom until it stops, but you won't be alone...I will be at your side throughout all of this."
Bella felt a bit better and the pit in her stomach shrunk to that of a pea. Alice would take care of her like she's always done; first as a friend but now as a lover. She took Alice's hand and gazed softly at her. Taking one of her lasts breaths, she spoke with subtle seduction,
"Take me, claim me, change me. I want to be with you. Do what you must Alice. I trust you and I love you."
Alice gently took Bella's hand and led her up to their room. Alice placed Bella on the bed gently and started to make out with her tenderly. Their breasts brushed up against each other and both women moaned at the friction. Alice felt her venom start to course in her throat and into her fangs. Though she was becoming more feral in her actions, she was very much in control.
"Tell me again what you want?" Alice purred near the crook of Bella's bare neck.
Bella's spine shuddered so much that the feeling of pleasure went all the way down to her toes and they curled.
"Love me and bite me." Bella moaned.
Alice flashed a soft yet seductive smile, showing her fangs for Bella to see.
"As you wish Bella my love, my dear, my mate."
It didn't take long for Alice to strip Bella down to nothing. Alice made sure to treasure every inch of Bella like the first time from her plump breasts to the curves of her lush hips. Bella was lost in her pleasure and felt herself coming undone in sheer bliss. Alice smirked lightly as Bella screamed her name and took that moment to bite Bella's neck.
Bella's blood was the sweetest thing Alice had ever tasted. No mountain lion or bear could ever compare to her mate's lush and tender blood. She injected her venom into the bite and soon Bella felt her blood was on fire. Her body convulsed and she let out a scream. Alice let go of Bella's neck and held Bella's hand. She could feel Bella's grip tighten in hers and saw Bella's eyes close for any relief but none was coming soon.
"A-Alice..."
"I'm here Bella, I'm not going anywhere. You are doing wonderfully despite your pain."
Alice kissed Bella's forehead and listened to Bella's heart. It was trying so hard to stay alive and Alice wondered if she needed to bite Bella again. She worried if she bite into Bella again, she might drink more blood and possibly risk killing her. She kissed Bella once more on her forehead, hoping the pain wouldn't last so long.
"It hurts Alice, it really hurts!"
Alice pecked Bella's lips and stroked her cheeks to calm her mate. She checked Bella's future and breathed slight relief that she wouldn't be like this for long…or at least not the usual time frame it took. The venom would soon leave her comatose and paralized; but Alice would be at Bella's side.
"Try to sleep Bella and when you wake, you'll be reborn." Alice mused softly.
Bella was crying at the burning feeling that consumed her body but trusted Alice as she closed her eyes, letting the venom spread within her body and bloodstream. The venom ravaged Bella's body and the fast pumping of Bella's heart and blood accelerated the process. Alice smiled lightly as Bella fell asleep and Alice was waiting for Bella's heart to beat its last so they could start the next chapter of their lives forever.
