Before he had a name, before his story began, he was a number. Human language had not been taught to him, like many who walked besides him, he understood numbers, among them a particular number all too well, stamped on his shabby garment. He was number Six. He was six, always behind one, two, three, four, five. He never cried nor did he talk much; how could he talk when he didn't know words? But he was smarter than the others around him, he was quick and observant. While his companions had never wondered given a thought what lay beyond the thick, tall white walls, he had patiently burrowed a hole through the wall to see what lay outside. The hole was innocently hidden by his only other garment, the shabbier one. Every day he woke up before the bell tolled to drag them to work and watched the sky change its colours outside, he didn't know the word 'colour' yet nor did he know of a sky, but he knew there were others, colours that were not white. White was everywhere around them, the walls, the floor, the doors, the cots! In this vastness of white he and others like him stood out like rusted and weathered nails; unwashed and starving.

Over the years he had learned more words and more numbers that he had picked up from the guards conversing with each other, he knew 'guards'; who dragged him and others inside white boxes and took them to a place where they all broke white stones. 'Stones', 'hammer', 'nails', 'queue', 'gruel', 'bread' and 'water' were the words he was familiar with. He needed the 'nails' to 'hammer' the giant 'stones'. Queue meant one, two, three, four, five and him standing behind each other to eat gruel and bread.

The day his life changed for good had begun like any other; he had woken up as usual before the bell that announcing yet another day of stone breaking, again watching the colours change outside through his makeshift peephole. At the sound of the bell, he jumped up from the rickety cot, stood in queue and drank a half-ladle of water and chewed a hank of dry bread, waiting for the guards to do their daily headcount. He was a creature of heightened sensitivities, and that day he knew the guard doing the headcount today was up to something. The guard's gloved fingers had lingered on his shoulders and caressed his neck more than was strictly necessary. He prepared himself for the worst to happen in the night.

He knew bad things happened in the night when the white was gone; one morning Twelve was found bleeding on his cot, Thirty Seven had marks on his body that were not white but similar to the shabby garments they wore, Eighty Two never woke from his cot. They had all been taken away by a guard in the night. When the guards hurt them and made them bleed, they felt pain and something that was not white but warm and salty came out of the wounds and it was scary. Dreading the night, he was scared that day.

But the fear in his body was soon forgotten as all of a sudden, a huge explosion rocked the drab white room. A bright yellow carriage that they he had never seen had crashed right in before his eyes. The carriage toppled over the white stones and every other numbered person had scattered away in fear, except for him and the guards. Out of the carriage came sounds that were unfamiliar to them all.

"Shishsishi! We are alive!"

"Young master, how many times do I have to remind you, we are not scouting the land and definitely not…"

"Sorry! Sorry! I won't speed up the carriage."

The toppled carriage was surrounded by guards in no time, who wanted to check before they fired their guns. The laughter from inside didn't stop, so the guards didn't relax their defenses.

"Come out and identify yourself!"

"Give us a moment will you? Can't you see the carriage is upside down? Either help us out or let us figure this on our own!"

"Shishsishsi! You just scolded them!"

"I did not! This is obnoxious behavior! They can clearly see we are in a bit of a situation here, can't they?"

The guards were perplexed at the scolding showered upon them. The owners of the voices were the ones who had trespassed but they seemed to have no worries to spare. This lack of respect for private property and their guards' authority was infuriating the first row of defense.

"Hello, I am Rosinante Donquioxte, a Knight from Spade Kingdom, and this is my Lord, young master Luffy of House Monkey D."

A tall blonde man wrapped in black feather coat jumped out showing his silver badge of knighthood. Immediately the guards understood the people they were dealing with were not common folk, but nobility. Next moment the young master jumped out too. He was tiny compared to his Knight, clad in black trousers and blood red cloak; red a colour only the most affluent could afford. The colour was called red, something Six would learn to name in coming few months.

"What do we have here, Corazon?"

"Young master, we seemed to have crashed through some sort of quarry."

"What are you mining here? Sea-prism-stones? Wapolmetal? Vearth?"

The young master in red was someone who was used to asking questions and getting answers. But the guards were directed to never tell any outsiders about the materials they were mining. Their lives depended on it; this job came with high wages and high risks. They were hired to, ferry the labourers to and fro from their dwellings to the quarries, to keep a headcount and to turn blind eye to the conditions their malnourished charges were in. And they had the luxury to do whatever they wanted with them as long as the headcount was not severely unbalanced. Right now the guards could not tell outsiders what they were mining and risk exposing their own misdeeds and lose their lives. On their own, they all decided that silence was their best option.

"I think the guards don't know what they are mining, young master, they are just protecting the miners and the mine."

"Oh! Shishshishsishi! How silly of me, sorry! I should've asked the miners. Hello, I am Monkey D Luffy, I want to ask you what are you mining?"

But no reply came; the miners in soiled clothes had all run away and hidden behind the towering pristine white boulders. They didn't even dare peep out. All except one, that one that stood in place, eyes were transfixed to the figure clad in red. Monkey D Luffy walked towards the solitary individual that stood at only half his own height.

"Could you tell me what are you mining?"

Instead of a reply, Monkey D Luffy found his hands grabbed by rough and scarred fingers, the owner of those bony hands was looking at him with grey eyes that were pleading to him. Monkey D Luffy didn't shake off the grasping hands but knelt down to talk to this little stranger.

"I am Monkey D Luffy and you are?"

"You. Luffy. Six. I."

Monkey D Luffy, nodded and patted Six's hands.

"Hello, Six."

Just as Monkey D Luffy was about to continue, one of the more daring guards moved forward and pulled Six away by the neck. Monkey D Luffy stood up to face the brave guard.

"I am sorry young master, we cannot let the miners talk to outsiders. Please understand our jobs are on the line. Please leave this quarry so that situation doesn't go out of control and our bosses don't punish us."

"I understand. Please help us pick up our carriage. We shall be on our way; we were going to Amazon Lily. We got lost and our carriage slipped down the tracks."

"Corazon, let's leave."

"Yes, young master. Do you want me to contact your brothers?"

"No."

"Okay."

The carriage was pushed right way up in few minutes, its engine and wheels intact; except for few scratches and dents to its outer shield, rest of the contraption was fully functional. As Rosinante checked the insides, Monkey D Luffy scanned the quarry with his sharp eyes. He absorbed as much as he could and looked at the trembling Six, noting the guard's fingers digging deep into the exposed collarbones.

"We shall leave you to your work, good day. Let's go, young master."

Monkey D Luffy found his hands grabbed again; this time, the skinny fingers exerted the entire might of their owner's scrawny body to hold him down.

Six wanted to be an anchor to this stray boat. Sadly he didn't have the strength to keep the young master in red besides him. Monkey D Luffy pulled Six closer to his waist and patted his head, whispering:

"I will be back to save you. I am sorry for leavingright now."

The next moment he was gone, Six couldn't quite register when the warmth that had engulfed him for the briefest moment had now disappeared. As the carriage vanished, Six found himself on the ground, his face squashed by the heavy boot of the guard. The fear that he had forgotten with the arrival of the carriage returned to claw at him.

"What were you trying to do? Huh? You want us to get fired, you little rascal?"

"Six. I. Six."

Six understood 'you' meant him, but he did not understand the words 'little rascal' was also meant to refer to him. He was just too tired to assert that he was not, in fact, a little rascal but Six, who came after One, Two, Three, Four and Five. He could not utter a word as more blows came, knocking him out. When he woke up hours later, he found himself placed against the boulders with the tools he recognized all too well, the nails and the hammers.

"Get to work."

The voice of the guard jolted him upright and so Six picked up his tools and set to work.

(TRIGGER WARNING: VIOLENCE, SEXUAL ASSUALT, GORE)

[You can skip this part and pick up from where the warning ends]

After the supper of bland, watery gruel and coarse bread, they were all sent to their sleeping area, just after the white walls were engulfed by the darkness, Six was pulled out of his cot. Just like he feared in daytime, it was the same guard who had tapped his neck and snatched him away from the stranger. While Six was not passive, he chose to keep himself invisible, never asked for more food despite his stomach churning in hunger, never tried to draw attention towards himself. Twelve was hungry, his hunger made him follow the guard, for two pieces of bread, he returned bleeding. Eighty Two wanted a new set of garments as he was cold in the night; he never woke up even after putting on the new clothes. So Six knew that to ask for something more meant something bad would happen. Even after being careful he still caught the attention of the guard. In fact, Six had caught the attention of the guard way before he realized, the incident with the noble in red just escalated the urgency in the guard tonight.

Six didn't follow the guard; Six struggled and kicked the air to get out of his sweaty hands. Yet he couldn't fight a man that towered at six feet. He was like a flapping sparrow caught in an iron net. But Six didn't give up fighting. He knew something bad would happen to him once the guard shut his door and he would never wake up like Eighty Two or cry in the nights like Thirty Seven. Six in his fragmented thought process assumed the guard was punishing him for the incident with the stranger in red. All Six had wanted was to touch the colour he had often seen through the peep hole, the person was wearing the colour that came out of his fingers and feet when he hurt himself with a hammer or nail or stones or when he was flogged. But the colour red, which the stranger Luffy wore, had no repulsive smell and it was beautiful.

The door was shut and Six was thrown against the wall. The impact almost knocked him out, his frail body crumbling like stone chips.

"Feisty ain't you? I always knew you were not timid! Looking at people with those big eyes, trying to keep yourself hidden in the crowd. You think I didn't notice you. You nasty bitch!"

Six could barely understand what the guard was telling him, but he understood they didn't mean well. He ran from end to other, but in a closed square room there only four corners to run too. He dashed to open the door and got caught. He was flung against the wall. Six didn't bother trying to get up this time; he just tried to roll under the sweaty palms that smelled of stale bread. Six wanted to throw up his dinner. He was used to the occasional flogging that the guards inflicted on him and the others that left him crying and twitching in pain for days, but he never felt fear like this before. He knew the guard was going to do something horrible. He found himself pulled by the leg and dumped in the bed despite his kicking, and finally decided to bite the pudgy hands. He bit one with all his might and drew blood.

"You motherfucker! You think you can get away from me?"

A fierce slap landed on Six's face, sending him to the floor and causing an instant nosebleed. Sprawled on the ground, Six was tired and losing his strength quickly. The guard slapped him again and again until tears and blood mingled on the floor, but still Six didn't stop trying to kick and claw him, managing to scratch the guard's face and arms. The more Six struggled to run away the more violent the guard became. Six sank his teeth into the guard's wrist, until had separated the flesh from the bone.

After struggling for few more minutes more the man could no longer bear the pain of his ripping flesh. Six was beginning to lose consciousness, but he focused hard on biting, and he could see the guard trying to tear off his garments with the free hand. A new fear sent a surge of energy in Six. Six kicked the man in the gut with his knees while he was fumbling with his trousers and crawled to the place where he saw a bag of hammers and other tools. But before he could reach the hammer, the guard was already pulling him back by the hair.

"You little cunt, you think you are better than me? You were created to serve humans! How dare you defy your masters?"

Six, not understanding the reference, continued to struggle to grab the hammer. The next moment he felt the wet hand grab the thing between his legs. Horrified Six turned around and kicked the guard in his jaws and grabbed from the bag whatever his hands could reach; plunging a rusty nail into the man's palm. Blood and loud cries and curses followed. Still a single nail stab was not enough to stop a man this big. Six grabbed a hammer and aimed it at the toes of the guard. Years of stone breaking had made him an expert with hammers; he efficiently battered the man's toes into a pulp.

That still didn't stop the guard, who only wanted to break his skinny neck now; the lust for sex had been replaced by bloodlust.

Six next aimed for the knees and stabbed the second arm which had lost chunks of flesh thanks to the rusty nail. He was so scared that he didn't realize what he was doing. He just kept hammering the man's knee until the man was bent on one leg. But it was still the small square room with no place to run, the man could still break his neck with his bleeding wrist. And those grabby hands would be cornering him again in no time. Out of desperation Six started to yell, and of the limited vocabulary he had there was a new word he learned today; Luffy. He just knew this person won't hurt him.

(TRIGGER WARNING ENDS)

"LUFFY"

"LUFFY"

"LUFFY"

"LUFFY"

"LUFFY"

"LUFFY"

Six kept yelling the name, this was his distress call. He kept clawing the face of the guard that had grabbed his neck. Slowly he was losing his vision as breathing became hard.

"DID YOU CALL ME?"

The stranger in red had broken the door down and pulled away the guard by the neck. Next moment an arrow from a crossbow pierced the head of the guard.

"Are you hurt? Six! What am I even asking, you must be traumatized. We are taking you all away."

Six again understood nothing, he crawled towards the blur of red and grabbed his hands.

"You. Luffy. Six. I."

"Yes, you are Six and I am Luffy."

"Luffy. Luffy. .Luffy."

Monkey D Luffy saw the child in his arms shiver and lose consciousness. The skinny child had grabbed his wrists and he wouldn't let go.

"Corazon!"

"Yes, young master."

"How many children are here?"

"Sanji just did a counting, hundred and twenty eight."

"We have to inform Vivi and arrange for their treatment, no?"

"Yes, we have too. I have asked for hundred and twenty-eight hospital beds."

"I am afraid, one bed will be vacant."

"Why?"

"He is coming with me."

"Are you sure?"

"He called my name, when he was facing the worst crisis of his tiny life. I have to protect him."

"We might have an issue with the authorities."

"Fuck them, he is a child. I can take a child to my estate and look after him!"

"You are a child yourself, young master!"

"I am taking him! Nami can find a loophole. Robin can cover up the tracks."

"As you wish. And what do we do of this place?"

"Ace asked us to collect evidence and burn down the place to the ground."

"Master Sabo is on his way."

"Is your crossbow working?"

"Young master, I just shot a man's head didn't I?"

"You may have to kill few more, I am sorry. Let's check the den-den mushi's recordings. This assault on the child was not an isolated act. When he held my hands in the morning, he was shaking with fear. They must have traumatized them all."

Monkey D Luffy scooped up Six who now was deliriously clinging to him and walked from the room.

When Six woke up, he immediately shut his eyes and hid his face with his palms. He woke with bandages wrapped on his hands and legs and iv drips hooked to him.

"You are safe, Six."

Monkey D Luffy was sitting in a corner and smiling at Six who was behaving like a twitchy rabbit, still reluctant to open his eyes and look at Luffy.

"You are Six. I am Luffy. You are safe. I am with you."

Six finally relaxed and peeked from behind his fingers to look at Luffy. Monkey D Luffy was dressed in loose black trousers and lemon yellow shirt. That the third son of Monkey D House had returned with a child was secret, only his closest people knew, neither his brothers nor fathers or his grandfather had a clue what their youngest family member had done. The moment Luffy had laid his eyes on the child, he knew the boy was special. But how special Six was no one knew until years later when all the kingdoms of the continent would come under one banner to rally against Monkey D Luffy.

"Luffy. You. Six. I."

Six had finally showed his face to Luffy. Corazon and Luffy had sneaked Six into their private carriage while Sabo, the second brother of Luffy was busy burning down the labour camp. Sanji, Luffy's friend and cook had created enough distraction for rest of Sabo's private army to be occupied. Ferrying Six out was not the most difficult task, this was not the first time Luffy had hidden people in his carriage nor was it going to be the last time. The main problem was Six's housing situation. Six was supposed to be put under the care of authorities who specialized in children welfare and rescue. But here Six was on Luffy's bed away from his intended place. Sanji had carefully deleted the images from den-den mushi recordings and burned the reels with any trace of Six in it.

Corazon and Sanji had decided the best place to hide Six was in Luffy's chamber. No one would question the vast quantities supply of food that was being sent to his room for Monkey D Luffy was legendary for eating anything and everything that was remotely edible. He often returned injured from scouting missions, so no staff would question medication sent to his chambers and most importantly, Monkey D Luffy was always in and out of his room so people hardly entered his chamber to meet him. He always met people outside his allotted section of the wing.

Though the entire castle belonged to him, until Monkey D Luffy came of age, he was usually found in the left wing of the castle. His staff and friends resided in the right wing, while the cleaners and helpers were sent directly by his elder brothers. The castle was situated far away from the eyes of the madding crowds of the kingdom. Being the bastard son had its perks and Monkey D Luffy was going to exploit his privilege till his last breath.

Six was now under his protection, which meant he had to look after the child well. Monkey D Luffy was in that age where his child self still lingered and his adult self was yet be born. To Corazon and Sanji, he was still a child, but in eyes of his family he was soon going to become an adult who would soon enter high society. Keeping Six safe was his priority, but no matter how good his intentions, Luffy was an inept medic and caregiver. Hence Chopper, the resident doctor had put the castle lord in a corner and away from Six. He was to only observe Six and do nothing else.

Now that Six had sat up on his bed, Luffy was beyond happy, but he restrained himself from jumping on the boy and hugging him, who knew how fragile the child was? Luffy's hug could hurt him. So Monkey D Luffy took a deep breath and grinned at Six instead.

"Welcome to Joy Boy Castle, I am Monkey D Luffy, soon to be Lord of this place. From today, we are friends!"

Six stared blankly at this lanky teen with, bright eyes, first time he had ever seen a smile. This smile from the very first moment had become his reason of happiness. Six jumped out of bed pulling the needles from his hands and rushed towards Luffy. Monkey D Luffy was dubbed the crybaby of the family, his brothers loved teasing him and his fathers were not the best in the art of comforting. But looking at Six, now climbing his body like a koala, stirred up images from his own childhood. In return the third child of Monkey D family hugged the child back gently and patted his matted hair. He made a mental note that Six needed a proper bath and not the towel bath they had provided just before the boy had passed out.

In his embrace, Six who yet had to learn language was sobbing and uttering gibberish. Soon Luffy found his shirt wet and the child in his arms trembling.

"There, there . . . It was scary wasn't it? I bet you were afraid every moment of your life all these years you spent in the camp didn't you? You are safe here! Trust me. I will protect you. And the day I fail to protect you means is the day I die. Cry it all out, cry it all out."

Six had further curled up like rain soaked kitten in Luffy's arms, his head on the teen's shoulder and his teeth biting Luffy's collar to stop the crying. As Luffy patted and rubbed circles on his back he could count and feel Six's spiky spine. Realizing again that the boy was terribly malnourished, Luffy's anger grew more, if what that bestial guard had set out to do that night had succeeded, Six's body would have certainly succumbed to his injuries.

Right now as Luffy was comforting Six, the other children that Corazon, Sanji and Luffy had rescued from the labour camp were hospitalized and under treatment. The den-den mushi recordings unveiled more than enough evidence to show incompetency of the rulers as well as neglect of population's well being. Luffy was the Bloodhound of the family, he didn't understand politics or had interest in it but he cared for people. His fathers had raised him to sniff out where there was trouble and he was their best student. Sabo was the one who dealt with politics, and Ace the eldest of the three was the representative of the family whom everyone respected. Sabo had immediately come to rescue the children when Luffy had sent a distress signal just after he had exited the quarry. The guards had not noticed, but when they were ferrying back the children to camp, the yellow carriage was already tailing them. Luffy would soon be inside the white camp, ransacking their security and waiting for Corazon and Sanji to surround the camp. The plan was going smoothly, until Luffy heard Six's yells.

Luffy was popular for his goldfish memory, but he had not forgotten the child he had met in the morning. He rushed to the boy and Corazon who had ambushed the camp that very moment followed him in his dash. Finding little Six pinned to the ground by that pervert was enough to boil their blood. Corazon always avoiding killing as he still had faith in justice, but when it came to matters of children, he followed no one. He had caught the man in act of the crime and he killed him with his crossbow.

"Six…"

"…"

Six looked up to Luffy with puffy eyes and snotty nose. He was a mess.

"Let's have bath?"

This was probably the first bath Six was going to take in his life. Still in Luffy's arms, the boy was blinded by the lavishness of the place. Monkey D Luffy's bedroom and private chamber were relatively barren compared to his bathing place.

Luffy loved playing in the water; hence his bathroom was built especially to accommodate his needs. It was decorated with shiny trinkets like flower vases, bronze incense stick holders, crystal jars with salts and oils, candles and in between it all sat a giant bathtub that could house ten fully grown adults. This also happened to be Nami and Robin, Luffy's accountant and trusted advisor's favourite bathing area as well, so every now and then they would leave their own clothes and products in the wardrobes. Hence many a times Luffy had unintentionally walked in when the girls were bathing and returned with injuries to his head or the girls have walked in when he was bathing and sat there to continue their conversation disregarding his privacy. Sometimes Luffy would walk out smelling like Nami's shampoo and other moment Robin would smell of Luffy's perfume, after a while no one knew which bath bomb belonged to whom. Overall this uncomplicated love affair with the bathroom had resulted in castle maids and stewards gossiping enough to spread rumours throughout the kingdom that the bastard son of Monkey D family was not born for monogamous relationship like his two elder brothers. Years later when Monkey D Luffy would eventually enter in exclusive relationship, it was to be in this very place and the rumours that would follow this relationship would be much livelier than the current gossip.

Six was placed inside the obnoxiously large bathtub. The poor child resisted hard against this but Luffy was just simply overwhelming in his superior strength.

"Nothing will happen! Trust me."

The issue was not of trust here; Six had ever seen so much water in his entire life. In the camps he got ladles of water if he was lucky. The sight of bathtub this big was both frightening and mesmerizing. Once placed inside, Six's grey eyes glowed , the sensation of cool water against his aching bones and itchy skin was comforting.

"See! Water is great! Now let's get rid of these clothes you are wearing."

As Luffy's hands tried to reach Six's patient gown, the younger flinched back in fear. It took Luffy a few seconds to figure out what had happened. Six was still traumatized of the events that had transpired five days back.

"Shit… Sorry. Here, follow me."

Luffy tried to instruct Six by pulling off his own salty shirt, that now had a chewed collar. After multiple attempts, Six understood and took off his gown and Luffy took it. As Luffy walked towards the laundry basket, Six had scooped his bath water and began drinking it. The sudden gulping noises brought Luffy's attention back on Six.

"Six no! Don't drink it!"

But Six was a thirsty camel who had found oasis! It took few more rounds of demonstration for Six to finally understand the bath water was not for drinking. With a sigh Luffy picked up the shampoo bottle and smiled at Six who started at him blankly.

"Good! You are a fast learner. I think Corazon and Dr Kureha will have lovely time teaching you. Six, this is Shampoo!"

Luffy waved his shiny bottle and showed it to Six, who was absorbing like Luffy had invented fire for mankind.

"Sha…aam…poo…"

Six repeated the word after Luffy. This encouraged Luffy to teach Six more words. Soon they were sitting in the tub and identifying the items Luffy had lined up for him. Eventually Six started to play with the water and Luffy cleaned his matted hair. Six had years of stone dust, dirt, sooth and organisms in his hair. The first five washes only brought out tar. Six didn't know how to respond to not so gentle handling of his hair. His hair had never been combed, it was matted with dread locks, what Luffy was doing was only the first among many steps of saving Six's hair. He would've have to call a barber, a dressmaker, and a teacher for the boy, the arrangements were being made, but first Six needed a complete medical examination, Dr Kureha had put the boy to rest, she didn't want to test the child while he was still unconscious. One look was all it took for her to know how bad his condition was.

The bath continued for than hour, as a lifetime of filth was not going to leave that easily. Six's body was scarred, there were injuries, old wounds, festering wounds, especially his back which was rough with the weals of flogging. There were also white patches spread all over dark skin. His ribs were sticking out and his torso had shrunk like a raisin. The very sight of this dark bony boy in water made Luffy's heart go pitpat in rage.

"Come on let's feed you something!"

Luffy pulled Six out of the water, and wrapped his tiny body in a robe and his head in a towel and picked him up in his arms again.

"Off we go to food!"

Food was a topic, Monkey D Luffy was expert in, he had stopped drinking breast milk two months after he was born because he wanted to taste what his elder brothers were eating. He crawled out of his crib to chase the smell of food. By the age of one he had tasted every possible food items and items that were not in category of food. Luffy couldn't believe that Six had never eaten anything beyond bread and gruel. Six was saddled on a chair, his freshly cleaned toes dangling from under the gown as he nervously looked around. Luffy's chamber could house a hundred people and still not feel crowded; to the boy all the colours that were not white were present here.

"I have laid my favourite meal for you! Here eat it!"

Again, Six had never seen such a spread in his entire life. To Luffy, jams, tarts, cheese, colourful fruits, crispy bacon, slices of ham, toasted bread, scrambled eggs and juice was a regular breakfast, but to the eternally starving child, all of these was alien and new and colourful. All his life Six had wanted to see things that were not white. Right now his eyes were finding it hard to focus on one single colour. Luffy decided to pick spoonful of the yellow eggs and stuffed his own mouth to show Six, Six followed the example and grabbed the eggs with his bare hands. Luffy did not stop him, he let Six use his bare hands to eat food. There was an entire lifetime to learn table manners, but food on table didn't have luxury of time.

Six's greasy hands offered the jam jar to Luffy. Unable to figure out how to open it he had assumed the taller had all the knowledge in the world. The jar was opened and the greasy hands had scooped the insides in seconds.

"Good! Growing children should eat a lot! I will ask Sanji to create nutritious food for you! So that you become a tall healthy man who can carry me around like I did for you today!"

Six was to recall these words few years down the line and make it his life's motto to become taller. But this day, after fifteen minutes of eating the first full meal of his young life, he was going to vomit it all out and end up curled feverishly in Luffy's bed.

And that is how his story began, even before got his name.

Hello, from the other side! If you know this story from Fanfic dot net, I know it has been few years I updated this story! I don't know if you all are still interested in this story or not. You see, the first version of this story was lost when my laptop had crashed, and I had lost my entire collection of writings. I had written 4000 + 4000 draft chapter 1 and 2 of this story, but after the disaster, I had a mini breakdown and had almost forgotten what my original plan was. Now, years later, I have recalled the key features and plot of the original plot. Hence, this is not my smoothest writing, I had to revisit a forgotten world and rebuilt from scrapes. My bestie Naomi had to clean up the story a lot and fix the random ramblings and repetition. Let's hope, I can rewrite the next thirty-four chapters in much cleaner and smoother language than this chapter. And thank you for picking this story after years of gap. I am grateful for your attention.

And Six is Law for now, in case you are confused.

If you are not angry with me, please leave a review and favourites or kudos to let me know if you like the story! And if you have suggestions for the story, do let me know in comments or PM me.

Happy Halloween to you all!
