Love and Rescue
Draco and Lucius both blushed at her remark, Hermione's voice broke; she stopped to take a deep breath.
"Although, it is also true I was so involved in my attempt to gain my beloved friends' hearts, that life just passed me by. Now, I understand that they aren't ready for a real relationship, and they love the idea of me, not the person I am. So when did my feelings towards you changed?"
She thought about it some more.
"Hmm, who knows, I'm not sure when or how. Just a couple weeks ago, I realized that even after I moved in with them, I kept comparing them to you. All I know, is that I love you with the true love of a witch for her wizard. As for Lucius, a flame is growing in my heart. It also started at Hogwarts, and given it time, it will also grow hot, and it is already lit."
Her smile was warm, and her eyes shone with the love he felt for the Dark Wizards. Sometimes, even her mother had pointed out to her that she loved knowledge too much, and combined with her daredevil attitude, she wasn't the witch she thought she was.
Her mother reminded Hermione that she had lied to her parents for years about the events at the school, and she had not been forthcoming to her peers about her own financial situation. Hermione had to laugh, and tell her mother that by now, she wasn't even sure there was bad magic. She had concluded what made magic bad, was how it was practiced and for what purposes. Considering those factors, she was convinced that she was suited for the two wizards, in front of her.
Both wizards' faces were glowing with love. Drexel and Axiom, the look-alike-brothers exchanged a look of knowledge and understanding. They liked Hermione; she was a gentlewoman, a powerful witch, and a good person. They would serve her well, and would give their lives for her if needed. Maybe she was the one they waited for so long.
It was Lucius turn, his face wasn't the hard, haughty face she had seen before, and something had changed, which made him more accessible, nearly human. "Princess, I have loved you for years, that day in Hogwarts I saw a witch, no blood issues; however, they came later. You cannot change the nature of humans in one day, and for a while I was horrified of how I felt, it wasn't a reflection on you, rather on my poor view of the world."
Draco hoped his father wouldn't blow it. He coughed and with a look, he warned his father to step lightly. Lucius nodded in agreement.
"Your friend Potter and you, spoke on our behalf during the trials. I was surprised to say the least; I thought Potter was doing it for Cissy; and during the trials I had a dose of enlightenment, a proverbial veil fell from around my eyes, and I saw and understood the truth."
Lucius had to pause overcome with emotion. He noticed her reaction, filling his heart with joy. The brothers were uneasy being privy to such intimate revelations. "What I saw is the reason why the Wizarding world, will never be able to understand what makes Harry and you two of you act. The simple truth is that both of you are the same side of a coin, passionate and fair. I have followed your every move; Draco has graciously made a copy of his memories whenever he saw you, and I treasure them."
Draco smiled, remembering his father's request.
"You have been the sole focus of our interest, and have paid to others for memories of you. Sorry but we can never have enough. Draco wishes I wouldn't care for you, but I cannot help it. We had decided to let best wizard win, and then, here we are."
When they had finished declaring their feelings, the Manor welcomed the new resident sensing their love for each other, and created links visible to all the ones involved. For a few minutes the air cleared and the portal lost some its power, a welcome break which would facilitate their mission.
"So, with this revelation out the way, let's make the list, shall we?" Proposed Lucius, when all he wanted was to kiss the witch, a wish that needed to wait.
"I guess we have eleven to be rescued," Draco calculated, "Granger, do tell us your choices."
"I stand by the original and would like to try to find my father there. I think he came from a branch of Squibs, but that is only my opinion. I have, maternal and paternal, second and third cousins who are magical, all in my generation. Then Fred, that makes two, Tonks and Remus, four, Sirius and Regulus, and I'm up to six."
"Regulus was my cousin, so I will take him, and my mother." Draco stated his wishes.
"And Vince?" asked Hermione.
"His father is in jail, his mother loves him a lot but she hasn't been well, and maybe he is better where he is at, but if someone drops, maybe." Draco wanted Vince but his mother was first.
"So we are at seven, I choose Cedric Diggory, and Severus, we are at nine, so dear your last two," Lucius knew what was coming.
"James and Lily, if they are still there, if not Vince and Colin, and one extra just in case, Luna Lovegood's mother, those are the ones I would propose."
"Your father, Fred, Remus, Tonks, Sirius, Regulus, Narcissa, Cedric, Severus, James and Lily, to be rescued alternates, Luna Lovegood's mother, Colin and Vince; of course we are assuming the ones we have chosen are still there, and they want to return. According to the accounts there are those who don't want to be back, because they are at peace. This leaves how to contact families of the maybes. It would be unfair to ask for things of the ones to be rescued, and to be here to assist, if we are not sure we would even try. "
"I have a solution for the maybes we will have pictures of them, I have a picture of Vince, and Hermione has pictures of Colin. That leaves Mrs. Lovegood." Draco offered.
"I have that covered, there are pictures of her from Hogwarts as the governor, I have books of the students for the past thirty years. Andromeda can be here for Tonks; Hermione can help with most of them, but the Diggory family must be contacted, neither of you were friends, and for that matter who was friends with the Lovegood?"
'"Luna is my friend, keep going," Hermione interjected, "but don't know the Diggory."
"That might be a problem, and if you are intending to bring James and Lily Potter, you will have to tell Mr. Potter and that could also be problematic. I imagine it might be good to have the Weasley parents involved. They will be happy to have their son back."
Lucius reasoned, not really wanting the Weasleys here, but he could foresee the scandal, and it would be good to have families as the Weasley and the Diggory, to be on their side and have their support.
When he mentioned Harry, Ron and his family and their needed intervention, her stomach felt sick. She could only imagine their rage, but maybe knowing the exchange, they would be fine.
"I will contact Amos and Andromeda, she should have Dora's and Remus' items, and I will ask here to be here at 6:30 sharp, we should be done with the ceremony by then, and dressed. They will need to in the room to hold the chain, so we are not sucked in; that is why we need the Weasley family. Drexel and Axiom can help, but the brothers never come out with outsiders, her kind is not registered with the Ministry, and I don't make them do anything. " He looked at them.
"Sir, we will help, we can wear the special shoes you made for us, and have a concealment charm for our nails and teeth." Drexel the leader of the brothers answered.
"Many thanks, with the three of them just two wizards should be enough. Should I contact Molly and Arthur?" Lucius knew the witch was stressed.
Her eyes lighted, "Please and thank you."
"Draco find pictures of the Black Family; princess, you contact Potter and good luck. I believe from all the ones we are going to bring, that one or two will possibly drop, in all recorded rescues, they never brought a full quota because every time some are either gone, or others want to stay. So we will go with the idea Mrs. Lovegood will come. Something that occurs to me, there might be rules that entitle us to additional people."
At this Hermione's heart rejoiced.
"Good luck. We need to start preparations by 3:00 p.m.(15:00). There is a lot to be done, ablutions, purification, getting the room ready, bathing, and all that implies. You will need an assistant; do you have a female friend to help you?"
She would like her mother but there was not enough time, for the wedding she would be here. She would ask Andromeda, they had become friends. "Andromeda is the best choice," and she sighed. Both wizards' eyes were fixed on her bosom and seeing rise and fall, the desire rose again. This was going to be a long day.
They sat together to write the scrolls, they went into the library. In there, there were two Floos.
"Mr. Malfoy." Hermione looked at Lucius.
He chuckled, "Princess we will be bonded in hours, how about calling me Lucius?"
Draco rolled his eyes, how mushy, gag.
"Lucius may I look at the documents, I like to read them. Maybe I will find something new." Hermione grinned.
Draco again
"With pleasure," he stood to get them; he kept them at his study, a door beyond. As soon as Lucius left he room, Draco came to sit by her.
They were alone Lucius had taken the brothers to help him with something, and L'roy and Camellia were asleep.
"Come here, " he whispered.
Lucius came back in less than five minutes, with the brothers behind him, and he wanted to smack Draco. The amorous wizard, as he was calling him now, in minutes, had managed to get their witch horizontal, and had nearly taken off all her clothes.
Seeing them kissing and touching their bodies, made him burn.
He was going to say something, but he had to admire her green knickers with the black ruffles and matching lace bra. Her bum was a thing of beauty, and her breasts, oh Merlin. Her unmentionables were naughty, making his mouth salivate. Draco lowered her bra, and Lucius moaned. That breast was delectable, he wanted his lips around it. That rosy nipple was calling him
Instead of yelling to Draco, he came towards them as if in a trance, a zombie, his arms extended. His hand opened, ready to touch.
Not fast enough, Drexel lifted Draco, the amorous wizard, as if he weighted less than a feather, then, dropped him on his couch.
Axiom held on to Lucius, by one arm and sat him on his own place. Gently but firmly both brothers apologized profusely and handled the situation. Draco crossed his arms pouting, he was overly frustrated. Hermione dressed in a jiffy and hid behind the scroll she was writing. Nothing was said about the incident until a while later.
"Draco, next time either of us has to leave the room, we both go with one of the brothers, the other stays here with Hermione. It's best for all of us. Right now is 10:05, in about eight hours, we will love Hermione; remember that lives are depending upon our restrain."
Lucius waited for an answer that wasn't forthcoming. Draco was making huffing noises as when he was five or six. Camellia sat by him, licking his hand. Her human was sad, and she was feeling poorly herself.
Draco's Foe
They sat down to look at the numbers, wishing they could bring more, when a newcomer appeared in the middle of the room. He sat on the back of a winged animal, a small dragon or something like it.
Two of the room occupants were angry at once. One was L'roy who made a scary sound, not owl like, and the other was Draco.
"Father, what have you done? You ruined everything." Draco sounded like a spoiled child.
Lucius didn't acknowledge Draco and stood to greet Marcel's son, "Henri, you made it; good, now we can bring back around 20 people."
Draco was pouting, "I don't want to bring anyone else, we have the ones we really want."
Hermione watched the new comer, a Malfoy, but not exactly. He was as tall or taller than Lucius. Just a little older than Draco. His hair hung over his shoulders, but not neat like Lucius's or a little wavy like Draco's; instead, it was messy, a rebel piece fell over his forehead. He looked like a younger Lucius, sort of, reminding her of the pictures of the Nordic Elven. He dressed like one, not in a traditional Wizard's robe. He wore a hooded long tunic decorated with moving magic symbols, and trousers tucked inside grey boots. He carried a satchel across his chest. She noticed a glowing tattoo or a magic marking on his neck. His smile was dazzling; he was a breathtaking Malfoy.
Henri just nodded to Lucius, ignoring Draco, who stood, posing aggressively, and went straight for Hermione. Henri stood in front of her and bowed like someone from the olden times. "Miss Granger, I am Henri Malfoy. This is an honor, I am your servant, and well, your slave, for whatever you may wish." He grinned, making Hermione blush. He had a slight French accent but hardly detectable. "You might know my cousins, the Delacour; my mother is their aunt." Suddenly, he went down on one knee looking at her.
Hermione grinned, "The pleasure is mine." Before more was said; Draco had his wand on hand and lunged to attack Henri. He didn't go far, Lucius has his wand ready, but no need to use it, Camellia held his trousers with two heads, then jumped and took Draco's wand away. She liked the new human, and his companion, a friend to play with. Henri, who was ready for the attack, didn't stand up, just pulled his wand, whispering an unknown spell and Draco's feet were chained.
Henry clicked his teeth, "You never cease to amaze me, still the same Draco. I must say a foolish and selfish one. I had hoped you had grown up a bit. Let me say my piece, and Miss Granger can decide."
Draco growled, sort of, Henri had not only chained his feet, but also sealed his mouth. Lucius shook his head. "No fighting, this is about more than us. Draco, in the past, after wars, the witch married three surviving Malfoy; another time more. I also don't want to share, not even with you, but you know about our magic, you lose nothing; enough, let her talk."
Camellia had moved by Sari, the small dragon, the size of a large pony before, but now a little bigger than Camellia. They checked each other; Camellia woofed and ran around Sari asking her to play. Sari obliged and ran around the room with Camellia once, and then sat. Camellia, the traitor, went to her mommy to check Henri; Draco was furious.
So Henri continued, "I am here for a chance to be accepted. I know it is too soon and too sudden, but I won't press my desires. We can have time to meet one another. I am also here, wanting to bring my father and my younger sisters, they were killed, by, ahem, the ones you fought." He stopped to clear his throat, overcome by emotion.
"My father wouldn't join them when he was in Hogwarts, and they kept trying, wanting another Malfoy supporter, wanting our vaults. Around four years ago, my father and the twins, were walking in our land when Voldemort's people, leaded by Draco's aunt, the demented witch, came to abduct my sisters. I was away in America with Sari, when this happened. My valiant sisters fought as Veelas, along with my father; but there were too many with Bella Lestrange. Sadly my father and sisters were cursed; they didn't survive but a couple of days. I want a chance to bring them back; so I hope you will accept me."
Hermione saw a couple of tears, running down Henri's cheeks. She looked up and saw Draco looking somber.
Lucius's head was down, sorry that Bella had caused so much damage. "Henri, I am still sorry and sad; I loved your father, Marcel, my older cousin. Bella took it upon herself when she came back. Yes, I also want them back. Mimi, my dear, decide what you wish, but know I am behind you. The twins were 18 when they died; Draco was their cousin, they were close. Marcel's murder greatly influenced my decision to quit supporting the Dark Lord."
Hermione looked at Draco, who could now speak, he mumbled, "Yes I loved my cousins; my evil aunt laughed the day they killed them. But I don't want Henri to be here, we will just bring them."
"No, it isn't your decision, let me decide. Frankly I want to bring all my friends out. Henri, please give me a little while to decide." Hermione looked at Henri, who took her hand and kissed it. The kiss burnt Hermione's hand; a frisson of desire ran thru her; Henri held her hand to his cheek.
"My dear witch, I'll wait, but let's assume you will accept me." He sighed, not wanting to let go of her hand; desire was taking hold of him. The Portal was already acting upon him. Draco's eyes opened wide; he could feel his hand on Hermione's cheek; he looked at his father who nodded.
"Yes, son, she has opened to Henri, so Malfoy Magic is working, stronger than before." Lucius said. Hermione looked puzzled since no further information was forthcoming. She waited, but Draco said nothing, just nodded once.
Henri stood up and looked at Lucius. Lucius brought him up to speed in a few minutes; when he told Henri about Narcissa, Henri made a sorrowful sound, he was close to Narcissa. "Let's hope Bella is dead; I am not so sure. You know my gift; I feel her coming. I hope I am wrong."
How many can be rescued
"Lucius, before we contact every one, let's look at the calculations, assuming Henri will be accepted." She looked at Henri, who couldn't stop smiling, but did not look at Draco whose lips were tight. She was almost sure she would accept him.
The new calculations
Hermione wrote them down.
Rescued Souls
1. The witch gets three; then adds one for each the spouses. Total: 6 souls
2. If she is willing and comes on her own, she gets the number of spouses plus one more for each extra spouse. Therefore two more souls can make the pass.
- Therefore Hermione: 6+2 = 8 souls. Running Total: 8 souls
3. The first spouse gets the original number unmodified minus the number of spouses sharing the witch.
- Draco: 8-3= 5 Souls. Running Total: 8+5= 13 souls
4. The second spouse subtracts himself from the subtotal of the spouse before.
-Lucius: 5-1= 4 souls. Running Total: 13+4= 17 souls
5. The third spouse, also subtracts himself from the spouse before.
-Henri: 4-1= 3 souls. Running Total: 17 +3 = 19 souls
5. Add one for each spouse that loves the other but count each one only once. Professing love is not enough, it will be known.
Henri raised his hand, "Please stop; Miss Granger, you need to know, I don't care who hears me, I loved you from afar for a long while now. I have paid everyone who could give me memories of you. After the war, after asking Draco, ahem, I decided to visit your father; I saw him probably the day he was attacked. We talked long; he was very nice; he gave me a couple Muggle pictures of you, after I told him how I felt about you. He said he couldn't promise much, but he would talk to you. So sorry for your loss; we both have lost our fathers." Henri looked at her. Hermione understood he was a Malfoy, not against doing what he had to get what he wanted.
Draco was growling again, angry that Henri went to see her father. Lucius knew this and tried not to smile.
"What I am saying, is that I also love you." Henri concluded. Draco definitely growled. Camellia barked once, thinking Draco was rude. Sari made a strange sound, liking what Henri said.
A/N Poor Draco, his nemesis came.
