Favorite Actor(s): Patrick Swayze, Daniel Radcliffe, Sam Elliot. Just added David Tennant to the list-- seriously, I have never seen a man who has the acting range he has.

Favorite movies: Anything Patrick Swayze, All the HP movies, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Gettysburg are just a few.

Favorite tv show(s): Doctor Who. This show definitely lets me geek mind grow and wander. Love it! Favorite Doctor is a very close tie between David Tennant's 10th and Peter Capaldi's 12th, although I also frankly adore Tom Baker's 4th Doctor, so much so that when he made a surprise appearance in the 50th Anniversary Special I squealed like the excitable obsessive fangirl I am.

Absolute favorite tv show is Broadchurch, and boy am I glad I happened to accidentally stumble across the first episode. I watched all eight episodes of the first series in a couple days and I know every episode now pretty much by heart. Everything about it is perfect-- the characters, the scenery, the writing, the music (oh my gosh the MUSIC). Seriously, if you've never heard of this show go and look it up immediately. You won't regret it.

Favorite books: The Outsiders, This Was Then, This Is Now, To Kill a Mockingbird, anything Star Wars, anything to do with the Holocaust including Night by Elie Weisel, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Lord of the Rings is my favorite book ever written (I don't particularly care for the movies), followed closely by The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and the Harry Potter books.

I like watching Monty Python, and the Reduced Shakespearean Company. I understand and enjoy British humor so I end up watching a lot more of the British comedy than I do American.

Favorite music/artists: Pop, and pretty much anything else except most Rap songs. I like listening to Nightwish, Within Temptation, DC Talk, tobyMac, Relient K, Celtic Women, and Enya. I'll listen to anything Christian, recently adding Mandisa, Red, and Tenth Avenue North to my favorites' list.

Since this is such a big thing that is being talked about, I've got to say my beliefs about it: Homosexuals and gay marriage. First of all, I've been raised a Christian, and I've been raised to believe that homosexuality is something NOT to do. But that does NOT mean I will discriminate against anyone who is-- I have friends who are gay, and personally I think it's frankly DISGUSTING that anyone would bully someone who is gay, especially to the point of suicide. WE'RE ALL HUMAN, PEOPLE!!! Sure, I don't support gay rights, but I'm not going to bully and tease anyone who is gay or supports gay rights. The Bible tells us to "hate the sin, love the sinner". Besides, bullying a homosexual person isn't going to make them straight-- it'll just make them lash out, and that's how people are hurt and even killed.

OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.
