The main hall of Haven academy was quiet, it's students and professor's all asleep during it's early morning hours. But a lone figure, covered in a black hood and cape, walked down it's halls, slightly making sure not to somehow make any noise that would alert anyone of their presence.
Breaking into the academy was simple enough for the person, with their skill set it was barely even a challenge for them but that is besides the point; they we're on a personal mission at the moment, they knew they had to hurry as well. Stealing that fool Lionheart's pocket watch from his quarter's was simple enough, but now time was precious, not knowing when the headmaster of the academy would awaken for his day.
A few minutes passed before the lone figure arrived at the statue in the main hall, quickly approaching the statue and placing the headmaster's watch on the statues belt. They watched as the statue and the platform above it slowly descended before stopping in front of them, they quickly stepped onto the platform before it started to make it's descent again. The figure watched as they slowly descended down into a chamber under the academy, the vault's entrance way glowing with energy as the elevator stopped.
The figure slowly approached the door to the vault, stopping before it as red fire suddenly appeared from their eyes, before they reached a hand out and touched the door to the vault. Slowly the door began to open as the flame in the persons eyes slowly died out, when the door was completely open, the person slowly walked through it, seeing the vault's only item stored inside it, the relic of knowledge, the figure slowly grabbed hold of the relics handle before lifting it and looking at it for a moment. To think something like this was made from a deity of unknown power was nerve wreaking for them, yet they still held it firm in their hand.
The figure took a moment, collecting their resolve before finally uttering one word, almost a whisper, "Jinn".
The relic upon hearing the word to activate it started to glow, before the person let go of it in slight surprise. But instead of falling to the ground, it stayed suspended midair before slowly floating away from them. Slowly blue smoke started to come out of the lamp, rising as the appearance of a women started to manifest from the smoke, the women had blue skin, long blue hair, and small jewelry accessories started to appear on their well, arguably naked person.
The women after fully appearing floated above the ground, adding to their already astounding height, and stretched their body before opening their eyes and looked at the person, they then gave themselves a mock lounging position before speaking. "Greeting, I am Jiin. I am a-"
"I know who you are and what you are, let us do this quick, I do not have much time!" The person suddenly said, cutting off the spirit sounding both annoyed and slightly worried at the same time.
The spirit, instead of getting offended or annoyed, just leaned forward slightly, a small smile appearing on their face. "Worry not little bird, time is frozen while I am summoned so we have all the time in the world right now." The spirit explained to the person.
"Time is… whatever, I don't care about that right now. Just how many questions are remaining in this century?" The person asked, slightly calming down now at the thought of time being stopped.
"There are 2 questions left during this century, what is it that you would like to wish for?" The spirit asked the person. Truthfully the spirit already knew what the questions were, being all knowledgeable of course, but still must ask them what they wish to know.
The person wavered for a second, thinking carefully about what they wished to ask about. "I-… I want to know how this war I've been roped into ends…" The person said truthfully, looking towards the spirit, newfound determination found in their eyes.
The spirit smiled slightly at the person, correct in knowing what they would ask obviously, and raised their hand, a small ball of light forming in her hand. "Of course, but be warned, you may not like what it is that you see…" The spirit said before letting the ball of light float towards the person, they of course stepping back slightly surprised before the ball slowly entered the persons head. A great force suddenly erupted from where the light was, throwing the persons hood and cape back, off their person as red eyes widened. Knowledge invading their mind at an alarming rate.
Raven Branwen stood still, letting the knowledge she just obtained fill her thoughts as she thought for a moment before a single tear slowly slid down her face. A look of sadness adopting her face before uttering a single word.
"No….."
Jaune was running, in two different meaning in fact. The first meaning was from his home, running from it out of frustration and confusion. Just a few days prior it had been his 7th birthday and he only had one present he wanted from his father, to train him as a huntsman like the man himself. Jaune knew that in a family with 7 sisters, getting the present you wanted usually wasn't feasible for his parents; children weren't cheap, especially 8 of them, But Jaune knew that what he asked for was something he knew he could get from his father, it wasn't something too costly or hard to acquire so he knew the man could do it for him.
Imagine his surprise then when the man himself refused to grant his sons desire, saying that being a huntsman was more then a want for a birthday gift, it was years of dedication and practice to even attempt at becoming a huntsman.
Jaune of course argued with his father after being told this, saying that he would be diligent in the training and practice needed for huntsman, but his father refused to listen: saying that he would probably quit after 2 weeks of training and that his son should look for a different career in life, maybe a musician he suggested to him.
The boy of course refused, insisting he would train to become one of the hero's of legend his family produced before his time, and after day's of pestering his father the man finally snapped. Smacking his son across the face telling him to give up on his dream and do something feasible of himself in his life. To his credit Jaune did not cry after being hit, too much anyways, but slowly stalked back to his room, hearing his parents arguing about what his father just did behind him. It was at the moment that Jaune did what most hysteric children did at a young age, run away.
In the dead of the night, the boy stayed awake in his room, quietly packing his belongings. His clothes, toothbrush, comics, and of course his toys so he was not bored on his trip. The boy slowly left his room trying not to attract any attention to himself before grabbing 2 water bottles and a few energy bars for himself, it would of course be enough until he found other food later, and ever so silently escaped through the back door of his families house, escaping into the night undetected.
Looking back as he ran, he cursed how foolish his plan was, his 'food and water' had only last him a few hours into the night after he left his village for the forest that surrounded it. The young boy had walked for a few hours in the dark, his only source of light being the broken moon above him to guide his way. At the time it was enough for the boy but as he slowly entered a rather thick part of the woods, his mind started to become worried. Noises surrounded him as ruffling of bushes and leaves made the boy jump every time one occurred, but luckily for him nothing became from those noises except a growing feeling of dread inside the boy.
Eventually the boy had stopped to, elevate, himself on a tree; the boy sighing as he was almost done. But before he could finish he heard it, the huffs and growls of a creature behind him, he slowly turned and saw it. He did not need to have seen one before to know what it was, a Grimm, it was a lone beowolf, it's claws and teeth looking ready to rip the boy in half. His eyes widened as a sudden feeling of dread spread across his body, slowly he backed up from the creature, until his back hit the tree he was peeing on. The Grimm looked towards the boy before growling loudly then pouncing towards the boy, it's teeth ready to rip him apart, Jaune, out of either instinct or just his legs losing strength in them, moved swiftly to the left of the tree effectively dodging the beowolf's attack.
The boy's fight of flight instinct's kicked in and boy did it choose flight, his small legs and feet carrying the boy as fast as he could away from the creature, deeper into the forest. The beowolf after missing it's target howled before giving chase after the boy, it's claws hitting the ground hard while giving chase. Which now brought Jaune to his current predicament, running for his life from the hulking creature as he ran as fast as he could, quickly throwing his single backpack he brought with his belongings in it to the ground as he ran to help him run.
'What do I do?! I can hear it behind me!' The boy thought to himself as he ran, a scream of terror escaping his lips at the same time as he ran. He could hear the grimm catching up to him easily as he ran past trees and brushes as fast as he could, his path barely illuminated by small bits of moonlight that broke through the branches of the trees above him.
As the boy ran from the imposing creature behind him, he saw in the distance as small orange source of light that was steadily growing larger. As he ran towards the light he saw a campfire, with a lone man sitting near it with three tents set up around it. With a new found hope erupting into his mind, he did the one thing he would think of, screaming still. "HELP PLEAAAASE!" he yelled as he slowly grew closer to the campsite, the lone mans head instantly swiveled to the new loud noise, instantly spotting the young boy and more importantly the large Beowolf running towards him. He quick stood up and yelled towards the tents as he pulled a large sword from his waist and began to run towards the grimm. Jaune saw the man quickly run past him as he heard a sudden clang of metal against…. Whatever the grimm were made of and saw two people a man and a women come out of the tents at the campsite Looking drowsy before spotting the threat their comrade was now facing.
They quickly drew their weapons, the man another sword and the women a rifle before they both as well went to go help their comrade fight. All Jaune could do was stop running as they ran past him, turning to look as all three of them fought the grimm, the 2 men swiping and slashing at it while the women actually stood back near him, not firing at it yet. It was not long before the two men were able to slay the grimm, the creatures body slowly falling to the ground as it's body started to dissolve into black dust.
The only thing Jaune did after the creature was killed was fall to his knees, panting from exhaustion as tears ran down his face, the three adults turning towards the boy, looking at him questioningly before he fell to his side, seemingly passing out from exhaustion. As the women closest to him approached the passed out child, her nose scrunched up as she looked down at him, "Gross hje smells like piss!" she said before kneeling down and picking the boy up, before the three adults walked towards their makeshift camp.
Hello all, and welcome to my first story. Rather short for now and not the best I know but I hope to improve as I continue writing it. Thanks for the read and any and all types of reviews are welcome. -ZaneWTF
