Nick just shook his head and sighed when he saw his beautiful but often insane wife carry his baby girl, who was dressed as a turkey, into the kitchen as he was making French toast.

"I saw it on display and couldn't resist. I just knew she would look adorable." Adalind proclaimed with a bright smile.

There was no question that Catherine Marie looked very cute, but the chances of the outfit lasting the entire day were very slim.

"Is baby Kitty going to eat turkey and stuffing?" Kelly asked.

"After your mother eats it and turns it into milk." Nick informed his son.

"Oh, mommy's like a cow!" The boy exclaimed. Causing his father to burst out laughing and his mother's jaw to drop open in shock.

Adalind narrowed her eyes and sent a death glare toward her husband.

Realizing he was about to get band from his wife's side in their marriage bed, he offered to fix her a plate and help her get settled in a chair so he could feed her while she fed their daughter.

He also insisted on handling most of the food preparations himself, with guidance from Adalind and help from Diana, of course.

Trubel was banned from the kitchen since she could not keep herself from sampling anything. So she, Hank, Wu, and their dates were all banished to the living room to watch football.

Kelly and the triplets were also kept out of the kitchen, though in their case it was out of concern for their own safety. So they were kept occupied with kid family movies in the playroom.

Catherine Marie spent most of the day in someone's arms. It seemed like every five minutes, she was being passed to another adult, who wanted to hold and cuddle the infant. Though she was never far from Adalind's sight.

Nick had been certain that the turkey costume would have been covered in spit up after at least two hours, yet when it was time for everyone to gather around the dining table, the outfit looked just as pristine as it had that morning.

As a cop and a grimm, his senses were tingling. The circumstances were just too suspicious.

"Either you're using magic or you bought more than one turkey outfit and have been sneaking Kitty upstairs and changing her when I haven't been looking?" Nick questioned his wife.

"None of your interrogations have ever worked on me, why would that change now?" Adalind retorted to her husband.

Knowing she was right, he decided to seek other sources for the truth.

"Diana, Kelly, were either of you with your mother when she bought the turkey costume?"

Both children shook their heads. Kelly said out loud, "No daddy, mommy went shopping when we were in school.

"Marriage and kids haven't made the hexenbiest any less cunning." Trubel's girlfriend commented.

"Most times I love my beautiful wife's brilliance. Just not when she does it to make fun of me."

"I'm making fun with you." Adalind defended. "More than fair after you laughed so loudly at Kelly's comment this morning."

"Should have known I would get in trouble for that."

"It's just a little mischief between foes turned lovers." Adalind grinned. "And to put you out of your misery, since I know it drives you crazy to be faced with a mystery you can't solve, I've just been sneaking her to the bathroom and washing off any spit up that happened to get on her costume. I use magic to make it dry again, change her diaper, redress her and then get her back to the living room."

"You're too much sometimes." Nick said, leaning towards her and pecking her on the lips.

Those that watched football while the food cooked helped with the cleanup. Those that cooked the food sat down and relaxed. The children of course got to go back to the playroom.

Nick and Adalind snuck away for a moment. They were so grateful for their friends, for their family, for all of the love they were constantly surrounded with. And they needed a moment to allow themselves to process how blessed they were, and to put the evidence of their wonderful life to bed.

Nick helped Adalind change Catherine Marie out of the turkey costume and into a onesie. They laid her gently in her crib, just watching her for a moment.

"Happy Thanksgiving, my little turkey." Nick whispered to the baby.

He had to stifle a groan and a chuckle when Adalind elbowed him in his ribs.
