"Aww come on Moyashi~ It's not that bad! Don't be a chicken." With every word Lavi was spewing, his friend was growing more irritated. "My name is Allen! A.L.L.E.N. Get it right! And for the last time I said no." This was a bad idea.
Though it wasn't much of a surprise considering it was coming from the idiotic ginger. Currently the high school senior was pouting, not liking that answer at all. "Lenalady, Yu-Chan help me out here!" He squealed as a sword jerked very closely toward his neck as a dark aura grew from behind him.
Yu Kanda was not one to tolerate any sort of bullshit, especially from Lavi. "I think it's time for rabbit stew...what did I tell you about calling me that?" Though he didn't see what the big deal was.
"Sorry sorry~ But seriously, guys back me up here. It's my last year before I head out of state for college, let's have some fun." He wanted them to go to an old abandoned house to celebrate Halloween.
A party for all their friends. "I don't know Lavi, I don't want us to get in trouble...especially since it has a bad reputation." Allen gripped his arms as a shiver ran through his spine. If it wasn't for the location he would have no problem with Lavi's suggestion.
Though he didn't really like parties thanks to his stupid excuse for a guardian Cross, he enjoyed spending time with his friends. But...the dumb eyepatch wearing boy wanted to celebrate at the Noah Mansion.
A place that's long been abandoned since a mysterious fire set it ablaze nearly a decade ago. It was amazing how the structure was still somewhat standing despite the harsh weather they tend to get.
"It'll be fine~ We already got permission to hang out for Halloween. I checked and started cleaning the place out. We dress up in costumes, drink, eat and chitchat with all our other friends and then leave. No biggie." Usually when he says things are fine...that's never really the case.
The one thing that prevented the others from outright dismissing it was the fact that compared to some of his other questionable plans, this was actually seemed like it was thought through-especially the fact he already started the cleaning and prep process.
Despite all that, the white haired teen still didn't want to go. Whenever he walked by that place he would start feeling uncomfortable. Like he was being watched. There was just something off about that place. And the backstory behind it didn't help his unease.
The Noah's were a well known family that mysteriously disappeared after their home was set aflame. No one knows who was responsible for the fire, or why, but no bodies were found in the wreckage. Nor any of the riches they were known for.
The town had gone crazy with all the conspiracy theories that sprang up to try and explain what happened. Supposedly the owner Adam Millenia Noah was filthy rich, and had a treasure hidden within the depths of the mansion.
A treasure that was never found despite many people sneaking in to try and find it for themselves after the fire. Ten years have gone by with no new owners or changes made to the mansion, it becoming something of a historic landmark, forever stuck in the past.
On many occasions people have tried to buy or renovate the property, only to back out after a couple days. Several of those individuals claiming the place was haunted. Several of the citizens, Lavi and Kanda included...didn't really believe in the idea of ghosts and the supernatural.
Both of them were the type of people who needed to see something truly for what it was before actually believing it to be true. Lenalee was standing on the middle ground of the opposing sides. On one hand the idea of spirits haunting the mansion sounded silly, like a work of fiction.
But on the other, there had to be a reason for why so many people turned away from buying it. Whereas Allen? He completely one-hundred percent believed. Ghosts, poltergeists, they were real. After all...its kinda hard to ignore them when he was forced to see them every single day.
Not that he would dare tell any of his friends this. How could he? This was the first town in ages he had come across from traveling with Cross where he was actually able to make friends and find happiness for himself. He was here to stay up until he graduates high school.
And the last thing he wanted to do was jeopardize that by telling them he could see the dead. If they didn't think he was joking, they'd consider him a loony. A freak, ditching him like everyone else in his life. Or give him additional scars to hide away.
"Pleeaaaasseeeee Allen? I really want you to come. I'll make your favorite mitarashi dango! Promise!" Everything was screaming at him that this would not go well. Even if there were no ghosts around to haunt the place that mansion was still bad news.
There was too much darkness, it was filled to the brim with violence and maliciousness. If he goes in there...there'd be no guarantee what horrible visions he would see. "No. Lavi." Still it was only a matter of time before he caved and said yes. "Allllleeeeeeeennnnnn." He only had so much patience...
To be continued
Author Notes: The way things are going, it looks like a halloween mini series is going down. On one hand this is good because it means I don't need to type as many different fandoms...on the other, i had only planned on this being a one shot with a tragic ending.
Well frick me. The plot bunnies are calling, but that's it for now ladies and gents. If you like this so far, please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to me. Or you know check out the other holiday stuff i've done over the years, that works too! Tchao for now.
