Deadly Secrets

Chapter 7

Author Notes: And now we're on chapter 7, fun times await. Since this time we're going to be dealing with Lavi, Lenalee and Kanda's perspective. Why? Because I needed to throw in a different perspective-and well...

i had to justify Lavi getting more screen time since I put him as a main character for this story. So with that lovely confession out of the way, let's get started shall we? I do not own DGM

3rd P.O.V

"Man is it colder here or is it just me?" Lavi was shivering as he entered. Even though he's been here before the ginger haired senior couldn't help but feel uncomfortable as he steps into the main hall. "It's winter you stupid rabbit. Of course its cold." His two companions glanced around with cautious eyes.

Despite Kanda's words all of them found themselves tense. "Yeah but I mean-it was cold on Halloween, but now it's like I jumped into an ice bath." Lenalee glanced around, seeing her own quaking breath as she rubbed her arms.

Though despite the chill, she made sure to cast her friend a deadpanned expression. "It was probably from you having us all run around with last minute decorations before." She still wasn't pleased with all the nonsense he had put her and the others through that night.

He invited more people than he promised AND was nowhere to be found when they were decorating and sorting through all the boxes. "Good point." Still even as he said that and looked around, there was just something in the air.

Beyond the faint scent of smoke and musk from the decaying wood, there was a foul odor. One that Lavi, for the life of him couldn't pin point. All he knew was that, it didn't smell right. Pushing his already anxious nerves.

"Let's just find the stupid Moyashi and get out of here." Even Kanda was on edge, gripping his sword while keeping his eyes peeled. Which made no sense...other than Allen, them, and the guests that were here on Halloween...no was came here.

Or rather-no one was supposed to be here. So why did they need to feel like they had to be on guard? Why...did he especially have this paranoid sense of worry despite being here several times before? "I hope he's ok." At Lenalee's soft tone, Lavi sighs.

Raking his hand frustratingly into his hair. "I wish he'd talk to us." Ever since they had their little conversation with Anita, Allen has gone about to avoid them all together. Somehow managing to miss them.

No matter what efforts that they took to try and see him. It was as if he was able to perfectly able to pinpoint where they were, and completely dodge any opportunities to chat. Though...considering what they learned, he shouldn't be surprised.

'Mahoja go on ahead and grab the bandages in the bathroom.' The intimidating woman simply gives a nod before walking away. However even with her presence gone, the lingering fear held strong. Making the three sneaky(or not so sneaky in this case) rather tongue tied.

Realizing that they really weren't in a good situation. 'So are you friends of Allen's?' Despite the strange circumstances surrounding all of them, Anita was the epitome of calm as she pour each of them a cup of tea. 'That's correct ma'am.'

Not even batting an eye at the absurdity. 'Thank you.' Lavi gratefully reaches for the warm drink. The aroma was sweet, calming his nerves. Though the dread of future punishment remained. His grandfather would kill him should he find out he made his way into the shittiest part of town to stalk someone.

Friend or not, the old panda wouldn't forgive him and probably kick his head in. So no matter what...he had to be on his best behavior. And glancing next to him, he could tell his friends felt the same. Komui, Lenalee's elder brother was the over protective, crazy, doting type.

Who would hug her to death before killing Lavi and Kanda for putting her in such a dangerous situation. And Kanda's father? He was a loving, doting man that would cry rivers full of tears, with Kanda's brothers giving him endless grief for getting into trouble...again.

Yeah, none of them wanted to get in trouble. So whatever out they could get, would get taken. 'I'm glad, things have been rough for him.' The way Anita looked was heartbreaking. Sad, tear filled eyes at the edges, with a small sincere smile.

'Are you his mother miss?' It took a moment or two before Lenalee's question was answered. Not meeting any of their gazes. 'Technically no. Though I love him as if he were my own.' There was an awkward tension to be found from the teens.

They weren't exactly sure what to say. 'I take it he hasn't really told you much about his past?' The looks on their faces was all the confirmation she needed. She wasn't surprised with that. It was to be expected. Despite that, the older woman could tell these kids mean a lot to him.

And considering they came looking for him, vice versa. 'Would you mind...listening to me ramble? A story if you will.' She took note of how their shy, tense demeanors perked up at that. And simply began to speak. Though it wasn't pleasant.

A crimson painting of tragedy was their reward for their curiosity.

At age 5 Allen's father was killed right in front of him...with the perpetrators never to be revealed and tried for their crimes. It had happened just a few weeks before the fall of the Noah Mansion. Having no family Allen was thrown into a series of foster homes...

Only to either run away or was whisked away by police and social workers. Eventually Cross Marian, an old friend of Mana Cambell gave in to Anita's pleading to take him in. Feeling like he somewhat owed it to the deceased brother for always being there for them.

Had even helped pay for Anita's deceased sister's burial...it was the least they could do. Even if he was an alcoholic prick with a mean streak due to his terrible luck, he wouldn't deny caring about the boy to some extent.

Mainly by letting Anita act like the mother she desperately wanted to be. Still his home was in shambles, there were physical and mental scars that would probably never quite heal. Cross was cruel...and Anita was dying.

"Allen! If you can hear me...please say something!" Knowing what they do now, words couldn't describe how badly they needed to see the white haired teen. "Get your ass out here you annoying Moyashi!" To tell him that they care, that they wouldn't leave him.

Yet...though as hard as they tried, he was no where to be seen. Lavi knew for a fact that Allen was here, since this was where he always came after school. And today they would find and talk to him. "Come on out man! We're worried sick over here."

It was easier said than done as they received no answer. "This way..." At least, not from him. "Who was that!?" Lavi narrows his eye, faintly making out the shape of a girl. "What are you talking about Lavi? Did you see something?" Hairs were beginning to stand on edge as he finds the girl gone.

As if she was never there. "You guys didn't just see a little girl by the door leading into the study?" Both of them shook their heads, their looks conveying discomfort. "Tch where is he?" It was getting even colder, time was passing.

There was still no sign of him. "Allen..." Their instincts were telling them something was wrong. Even if he was hiding away in another room, he should've heard them. He should've answered. "This way..." Again Lavi heard a voice calling to him. It was the same one from before, though he didn't see any sign of the owner.

"Guys I'm going to check the next room." His curiosity was piqued. "We'll come too. It's easy to get lost in a place this big." Suddenly all of them tense when a sharp scream reaches their ears. "Could that have been?" There was only one person. "Al!?" Together the group race towards the sound.

Unaware of the childish grin that watched them rush into the empty library. "What the?" Only for the doors to slam harshly behind them. "Hey! This isn't funny Allen! Let us out!" Locking them in. "That's one problem down~"

Road giggled as she rested her arms behind her head. "Now...to help Auntie Lulu." Today was turning out to be an interesting day indeed.
