Hi friends. Thank you so much for reading this story and leaving sweet reviews. Here is the next chapter.
Enjoy :-)))
Tony shifted to his side and read the digital time that blinked on his side table. 2:35. Maybe it was glaring at him because he should be sleeping right now. He should but couldn't. No matter how hard he tried, sleep was being stubborn to him tonight. Maybe it was going to be one of those nights where he needed to distract himself with the pending projects in his lab, until sleep took mercy on him.
Tony threw the covers off him and covered himself with his expensive sleep robe. On his way the man grabbed a cup of coffee before stepping into the lab. Instantly a smile played on his lips when he saw Peter's pending work. The boy was a genius, maybe even better than him and he couldn't be more proud. He remembered his last conversation with the boy after his night patrolling, informing the man that he had safely reached home and requested him to get some sleep too. The man picked up a screwdriver and began working on a project all the while thinking new ideas that could be added to Peter's project.
OTHER SIDE
"Sir...please can I make a call?"
"No"
For a second Peter wanted to scream at the man infront of him but he knew it will never end good for him. He understood that the hard way. The man used his fist first and then mouth. He flicked his eyes on his wrist and felt his heart sunk further into his chest because he didn't wore the watch that had an emergency button which would alert Tony if he was in trouble. The man probably had no idea he was being held in one of the dark interrogation room and it frightened him even more
Brian leaned closer and intertwined his fingers, a coy smile plastered on his face "My name is Brian McLouth, new head of NYPD. I have two options for you kid. We can do this the easy way or the hard way"
Peter shrunk, looking even smaller. He knew he should be strong and be able to face the man with confidence, after all he was Spiderman but this situation was connected with Peter Parker, a boy who was still shy and scared of strangers. Inhaling sharply he mustered up some courage and tried to speak without stuttering but failed "I ca.. can explain..."
"Is this you in the picture?"
Peter's face was dripping in sweat, fingers curling into tight fist "I didn't do.."
Brian stood up so fast that it knocked the chair down and Peter cringed at the sound. The man grabbed his hair again and forced him to look at the picture "Look carefully. Yes or No?"
A strangled whimper broke from Peter lips
"You better answer me because I'm running out of patience. Yes or No!?"
"Yes!" Peter replied having no choice but to comply to the man's abusive technique
Brian smiled in satisfaction and tightened his grip "Now tell me where is the other boy, your partner in crime, the one who you're selling drugs to in this picture"
Peter tried to shake his head in denial but Brian's grip was too tight. He felt tears roll down his eyes because only he knew, he was not at fault here "I don'..." he hicupped through his irregular gasps "...don't know"
"Liar!" Brian growled and slammed Peter's face hard on the table, head bouncing back with a loud thud "Don't think I'll go easy on you just because you're young. I've been dealing with criminals like you for ten years now and know very well how to pull the truth out of your throat"
Peter shut his eyes close, feeling momentarily disoriented. He could already feel the bump on his forehead and groaned. The pain in his head doubled and he pulled at the handcuffs, being careful not to use his super strength but still resulted in cutting his skin, small beads of blood popping up due to his actions
Brian let go of Peter's hair and circled him like lion stalking it's prey "We've all night kid so I won't get bored with you this soon. Where is the second boy and how did you find the drugs"
"I don't know" Peter cried out with a grimace of pain
"Who do you work with?"
"No one!"
"Is there a gang? Who is the leader? I want names!"
"I..I..don't..." Peter gasped, coughing a little. He couldn't get enough air through his lungs, feeling overwhelmed with all the questions, questions that he had no answers to "I..I don't know anything!"
"TELL ME!"
Peter flinched, tilting behind to look at the man and pleaded, eyes filling with salty tears "I'm telling you the truth. Please believe me" he heard a sigh from behind and a large hand landed on his shoulder making his heart race to new levels. The man gave a tight squeeze "Let's start easy. Look I'm not the bad guy here"
Peter didn't believe that statement. The man was nothing but a manipulative maniac who misused his position as the head of NYPD. He saw Brian grab the chair again and take a seat "Where are your parents?"
"They are dead"
"Any siblings?"
"I'm the only one"
"What does your aunt do for a living?"
"She's a nurse"
"How much does she earn?"
"Enough to feed us both" replied Peter in small voice and Brian nodded "Where do you study?"
"Midtown School of Science and Technology"
"I see" Brian then raised his eyebrows and crossed his arms "If I'm not wrong, it's one the highest paid School in New York. I want to know where do you get money to pay the fees"
Peter turned impossibly paler. He knew the man would never believe him but still he had to tell him the truth. His vision was wavering so he decided to close his eyes to combat the returning nausea. Every movement was sending waves of pain to his chest and head. The boy slowly opened his eyes to see Brian waiting patiently for him to answer "I work as an intern at Stark Industries. Mr Stark pays for my school fees"
The hideous laugh that left Brian's mouth was enough for Peter to know that the man obviously didn't believe him "You work with Tony Stark? And you say the billionaire pays for 'your' school fees?"
Peter nodded, swallowing nervously
Brian tried to control his laughter and stood up straightening his coat. He walked near Peter and caught his jaw, digging his fingertips making sure to inflict pain. His action was rewarded by a pained whine from his prisoner and he smirked cunningly "I'll give you ten minutes. Next time I come, try... just try speaking some truth for once"
Peter's throat bobbled as he pleaded once again "One call.. please Sir. I want to call Ton.."
"You're not getting anything unless you answer my questions" Brian sneered at the frightened boy
"But I've the right to...mmmph.." Peter started only to be stopped when Brian clamped the same hand over his mouth "Criminals like you have no right to even live"
Peter whimpered through his muffled words. Brian added a little more pressure before finally letting go of the boy's face "Ten minutes"
The door to interrogation room closed and Peter stared at it for long seconds. He looked down at the cuffs feeling utterly helpless because it would take only seconds for him to break free but then what? How will he explain the broken cuffs or the fact that he tried to run away from the police station. He couldn't break free. That was out of option for him.
Peter shivered and he knew cold had little to do with it. He let the tears flow freely. The pain was pulsing in his skull matching evenly with the throb in his chest. His wrists had red blotches which irritated him with every movement. He knew in couple of hours, he'd be good as new, that is if Brian didn't hurt him again but right now he will have to endure the painful process of healing. The boy just wanted to go home and sleep in his bed. Why was fate always so cruel to him? Why did he meet the boy? Where was he since he was the only one who would prove his innocence.
Now all Peter could do was to wait. Wait for some kind of miracle. Wait for the man to grow a heart so he could call Tony. He was the only one who could get him out of this mess. The only one who would believe him. Peter was not feeling good. He was tired, scared and hurt. The boy let his head droop and fell into restless sleep
Not ten minutes later, Peter was jerked to consciousness when the door opened and Brian walked in holding a hot cup of coffee "Ready to talk?"
Ooooh Our boy is in trouble. Please leave a review guys. It always makes my day awesome.
