Deadly Secrets
Chapter 18
Author Notes: The second to last chapter guys! And though both of them were relatively shortish compared to some of my other works-i still made a story that fit sen's criteria, made sense AND fit under 20 chapters.
So what if it only took me nearly two years! I got it done! And though I was a bit unsure in the beginning, I did it~ Now it's time to finish this thing~ Let's go everyone-I do not own DGM
Allen's P.O.V
Walking is hard.
Time and time again hands hold me down.
Wanting me to stop.
To join them.
And there are many times I want to.
However.
I know I can't.
Despite the harsh times, there is hope.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
There are people waiting for me.
I just need to keep walking.
3rd P.O.V
There was a tense silence as Lavi, Lenalee and Kanda sat in the waiting room. Each of them were lost to their thoughts, stuck frozen in time as they hope for good news. Though as the minutes bled into hours, each of them were slowly delving into their own anxious habits.
The long haired-samurai was tapping his foot softly on the ground, watching his ginger idiot friend pace in a dizzying circle, around and around with a neutral expression. Only to glance to his left, finding Lenalee twiddling her fingers while biting her lip.
Already they had contacted their families, alerting them that they are ok and that no they're not going home quite yet. Not until the doctor comes to see them. In all honesty they could believe this was happening.
Still...it sounded familiar. "I'll try to keep the phone on for as long as possible but it's ready to die. You need to come to the Noah Mansion." But that and why she had Allen's phone was pushed to the side. "But we already checked there!"
That was literally the first place they checked. The little team of three had screamed and shouted for ages, checked all the floors...Allen did not respond-let alone reveal himself. Though that didn't stop any of them from rushing outside towards the cars.
"There's a secret section that hides Adam Noah's riches down in the basement. Malcom plans on killing all individuals involved with the Noahs there!" Officer Yeeger's eyes widened in shock, but he quickly recovered.
Slamming on the gas pedal while flashing his lights. Causing Lavi to jerk to the side of the car, nearly losing his phone. Luckily he had it tightly in his hand, but it didn't make him feel better when he heard crackling sounds from the other line.
"Hey-you still there!?" There was no response. "Shit!" The phone had died. "Hang on tight young man!" Like they weren't going any faster, the aged police officer went even faster. They were going so fast that Lavi wasn't able to keep up with his surroundings.
If the poor kid wasn't feeling nauseous before, he certainly was now as he gripped the safety bar above his head. And it was a good thing too as he swerved and jerked through the busy streets. There were no doubts going to be bruises on his shoulders and arms.
The good news was that in exchange for the bruises, motion sickness and raging migraine, they had made it to the Noah Mansion(alive) within ten minutes instead of the typical twenty or so it usually takes with traffic.
And on top of that while Lavi was panicking for his life, Yeeger had requested for more backup to help him and his small crew of volunteers. "Now listen to me young man." It took a few moments before the teen was able to comprehend words.
"Y-yeah?" But he listened to the best of his ability all the same. "If that phone call was true, there's high likely hood there are armed individuals inside. So I want you to lock up as soon as I leave and wait." Already a protest was on the tip of Lavi's tongue.
But he held it in as the elder man gave him a stern look. "I promise you, if your friend is in there I WILL find him. But I'm not letting you endanger yourself." If Lavi had any hope of his friend coming out of there alive and in one piece, he had to listen. "Fine."
He didn't like it one bit, and by taking a quick glance out the window he could see his friends in the other cars, probably going through the same conversation. "I'll be back with your friend. Don't worry." That was the worst thing he could've said.
Not long after that they heard screaming and gunshots going off.
"Are all of you here to see Mr. Walker?" Immediately the three of them were on their feet, giving the man 'Dr. Toma' their utmost attention. "How is he?" All of them were tired, stressed and starving, but hope shined brightly in their eyes.
That hope glowing when the doctor gave them a small smile. "He'll be alright. Hit his head, gained some bruises and scrapes, and is anemic, but is ok. We got him hooked up on iv's with nutrients and he's awake." Of course with that important tidbit of information there were sighs of relief.
As well as a specific question. "Can we see him?" The last time they got a look at him, he was being carried out by EMTs. Unconscious, unresponsive. So even if it was just a glance, they needed to see he was actually ok.
"Try not to rile him up, but yes. I need to get into contact with Mr. Yeeger, but i'll be back." Toma was officially on their good list as the trio(try to) calmly make their way in. However, the instant all of them locked eyes with those silver and red orbs they ran.
Or rather Lenalee and Lavi ran, hugging Allen within seconds. "Allen!" Meanwhile Kanda rested his back against the doorframe, mustering a small sigh as the tension in his shoulders finally went away. "Hey guys. It's so good to see you." Lenalee was the first to pull back.
But only so she wouldn't cry on him. "You are NOT allowed to be in any sort of danger anymore you hear me!?" Also so she could release all of her frustration and worry. Like the mother hen she could be.
"Sorry Lenalee." And he really was. Especially since he couldn't promise to stay out of trouble. "How are you feeling?" Now it was Lavi's turn to pull away, analyzing the injured freshman from head to toe. "I'm ok. Tired. But ok." Searching for anything to contradict Allen's words.
But within a few moments Lavi relaxed his posture, smiling. "Good. We were worried when we saw you get dragged out of the Noah Mansion." Quite the understatement and Allen appreciated their concern and support.
Even Kanda's. "Did you do what you needed to do you baka moyashi?" For once, Allen would let that dumb nickname go. Closing his eyes he took a deep breath. "Yeah. Guys...there's something I need to tell you. Something a little crazy, a little hard to believe, but true."
He wasn't sure how he was going to tell him. In all honesty he really didn't want to reveal his secret. But if his talk with his father Mana was any indication...hiding the truth is far more hurtful than just saying it. Like ripping off a bandage when compared to slowly, painfully peeling it.
"What is it?" And if his friends were willing to risk their lives to find him and make sure he was ok...well, he owed it to them to at least know why things happened the way it did. "For the last ten years...I've been able to see things. Things that no one else can see." What happens after?
Well...he'll figure it out when he comes to it.
to be continued
Author Notes: Whoooo boy, Allen is taking a big leap here. And of course I had to end it there on a cliffhanger. But fret not-we still got one more chapter to go. Now I just have to edit it and hope it's not another lovely addition of me choking the ending.
Fingers crossed it all goes well folks. For now though that is it! Guys thank you so much for reading, if you like this series please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to me. Tchao for now.
