Having arriving in Lumiose City, Ichigo has registered for the Kalos League. All his rivals are there as well. He later learned that his first opponent in the Kalos League would be against Tsukishima. Tsukishima has proven himself to be a tough opponent in the past. We'll see if Ichigo is able to beat Tsukishima this time.

(Ichigo's voice) Beat the Mystery

The Kalos League was underway. With Kisuke watching as well, the biggest even in the region has begun with trainers watching and battling.

"Granbull is unable to battle! Aggron is the winner!" The referee said as one of the battles of the first round ended.

"The Kalos League has just started and it's already looking fun." Orihime said as she, Rukia, and Chad were watching from the stands.

"The fun's only starting. Ichigo's battle should be next." Rukia said. "He should be against Tsukishima, but Tsukishima is a tough one. Remember how we saw him battle before. Tsukishima is a little illusive, unpredictable, and certainly has the power to help him out."

"We'll see how it goes. Here they come." Chad said as the next battle was soon going to start.

"The next battle of the first round is about to begin! We got Tsukishima going against Ichigo!" The emcee said. Both trainers walked out with everyone excited to see another battle. "Remember that battles in the first round are all three-on-three. The battle will be over when all three of one side's pokemon is unable to battle." The two of them walked out and stood ready to face each other. "We will now see which field they will battle on." A field started to rise for their battle and it became a grass battlefield. "The field these two trainers will be battling on is grass. We now wait to see what pokemon they will be using."

'I've got to be ready for anything. No telling what Tsukishima will do.' Ichigo thought.

"Here's my first choice. Let's go, Vileplume." Tsukishima said as he let out his first choice.

"Vileplume!"

"Tsukishima's first choice is Vileplume. Who will Ichigo choose?" Absol looked ready to jump out there for a battle, but Ichigo stopped him.

"Easy, Absol. I got something else in mind. Swoobat, I choose you!" Ichigo said as he chose his choice.

"Swoobat!"

"Nice. Ichigo has the advantage with Swoobat." Rukia said.

"Let's go! Swoobat, attack with Acrobatics!" Ichigo said. Swoobat glowed and started flying around at incredible speed.

"Vileplume, Stun Store." Tsukishima said. Vileplume tried blasting the spores from its head like a cannon, but Swoobat avoided the attack and smashed itself against Vileplume.

"Swoobat lands its attack! That had to have done a lot of damage."

"This battle is already over! Swoobat, Air Slash!" Ichigo said. Swoobat formed a ball of air and launched it. It blasted against Vileplume and Vileplume was taken out from those attacks.

"Vileplume is unable to battle! Swoobat is the winner!" The referee said.

"Ichigo gets the first win. What pokemon will Tsukishima use next?" Tsukishima didn't seem that concerned. That's what had Ichigo a little cautious.

"Let's go, Mismagius." Tsukishima said as he chose his second pokemon.

"Mismagius!"

"Mismagius... That one might be a little more difficult. Swoobat, return!" Ichigo said as he was changing his pokemon. "Dusclops, you're up next!"

"Dusclops!"

"Ichigo switches out Swoobat for Dusclops. It's a battle between ghost-types."

"Dusclops, take out Mismagius with Night Shade!" Ichigo said. Dusclops attacked by unleashing the dark wave from its eye, but Mismagius moved around and avoided the attack. "Don't let it escape that easily! Attack with Will-O-Wisp!" Dusclops formed blue flames and shot them at Mismagius, but Mismagius was still avoiding those attacks.

"I can tell that Dusclops is surely a powerful pokemon, but all that power means nothing if they can't hit your opponent." Tsukishima said. "Dark Pulse." Mismagius attacked and blasted Dusclops with it and Dusclops took a lot of damage from that attack as it was knocked down.

"Dusclops could be in trouble with this one. Dusclops can't land a hit while Mismagius has no problem."

"Dusclops, return!" Ichigo said as he brought Dusclops back.

"Ichigo just made a smart move. Dusclops wouldn't stand a chance against like that." Rukia said.

"So who is he going to go with against that Mismagius? Who does he have that can beat it?" Orihime questioned.

"There's Absol, Weavile, or maybe..." Chad listed.

"Umbreon, you're up next!" Ichigo said.

"Umbreon!"

"Ichigo's going with his third pokemon: Umbreon. He surely has the advantage with that choice."

"Mismagius, Power Gem." Tsukishima said as he jumped back in the battle.

"Shadow Ball!" Ichigo said. Mismagius fired a beam from the gems it wears, but Umbreon jumped back and avoided the attack. Umbreon launched the Shadow Ball and it blasted against Mismagius. Mismagius was hit hard as it was knocked out of the air and landed near Tsukishima with it being knocked out.

"Mismagius is unable to battle! Umbreon is the winner!" The referee said.

"Ichigo claims another win! With Tsukishima down to just one pokemon, can he pull out a comeback?" Tsukishima still didn't seemed concerned about this. It was getting to Ichigo a little bit.

"What are you smirking about?" Ichigo said.

"I see your little strategy. Swoobat is fast, while Dusclops is powerful, and Umbreon is a mixture of the two." Tsukishima said. "A balance team, but now that I see it, I might know how to beat it." Ichigo didn't know what to think. Tsukishima is cunning and tricky. It's difficult to tell what he's going to do next. All he did know is that he had to be ready. "Milotic, let's finish this!"

"Milotic!"

"Tsukishima's last pokemon is Milotic. It's do or die for him now."

"I remember that Milotic gave Absol a hard time." Ichigo said as he needed to rethink the battle. "Umbreon, return!" Ichigo switched out his pokemon. "Swoobat, you're back in!"

"Swoobat!"

"Swoobat, Gust!" Ichigo said. Swoobat flapped its wings and created a powerful gust that blew against Milotic, but Milotic was holding out against it.

"Milotic, Hydro Pump." Tsukishima said. Milotic unleashed a powerful blast of water and it hit Swoobat with Swoobat getting knocked out of the air. "Now use Iron Tail." Milotic's tail hardened to iron. Milotic moved to Swoobat and smashed its tail against Swoobat with Swoobat getting knocked out.

"Swoobat is unable to battle! Milotic is the winner!" The referee said.

"Tsukishima gets his first win! Swoobat was beaten so quickly."

"That Hydro Pump was so powerful and came so fast. There was no time for Swoobat to get out of there." Ichigo said. "He didn't even give Swoobat the chance to counter." Once Ichigo brought Swoobat back in its pokeball, he could see Milotic was going to be a greater challenge than he thought. "Dusclops, you're back in!"

"Dusclops!"

"Dusclops is back in, but can it take Milotic?"

"Dusclops, Shadow Punch!" Ichigo said. Dusclops launched a couple shadowy punches. Milotic got hit by them, but was able to endure. "Now use Will-O-Wisp!"

"Hydro Pump!" Tsukishima said. Both pokemon attacked, but the flames were easily put out and blasted Dusclops with it. Dusclops was trying its best to endure the attack. "Now heal your beauty by using Recover." Milotic took the opportunity to have energy flow through it and heal itself.

"Milotic uses Recover to try and restore some energy."

"We've got to strike while we can! Dusclops, Night Shade!" Ichigo said.

"Milotic, Twister." Tsukishima said. Milotic unleashed a powerful blast of wind from its tail before Dusclops had the chance to attack. Dusclops got hit by the attack. While Dusclops was trying to resist the attack, damage was still being dealt.

"Hang in there, Dusclops! Push back with Shadow Punch!" Ichigo said. Dusclops used the attack and pushed through the wind. Miltoci did get hit by the attacks, but it wasn't enough.

"Iron Tail!" Tsukishima said. Milotic closed the distance and smashed its tail against Dusclops right on the head with Dusclops getting knocked out.

"Dusclops is unable to battle! Milotic is the winner!" The referee said.

"Tsukishima has done it! He's even the scored with both sides only having one pokemon left." Ichigo brought Dusclops back in its pokeball, but he wasn't giving up yet. He might be annoyed, but Ichigo isn't going to let Tsukishima win so easily.

"I remember that when we first met, you thought I was something of a mystery. You're perplexed on the strength my pokemon possess, as well as my strategies." Tsukishima said.

"Maybe I did think that. So?" Ichigo said.

"Well, there's really no mystery when you see it." Tsukishima claimed as he looked right in Ichigo's eyes. "I'm simply a better trainer than you." Hearing him say that got under Ichigo's skin.

"This battle isn't over yet!" Ichigo said as he still had a chance. No way he's going to lose to someone like Tsukishima. "Umbreon, let's go!"

"Umbreon!"

"Umbreon, time we won this battle! Shadow Ball!" Ichigo said. Umbreon went with the attack and launched it.

"Deflect it with Iron Tail." Tsukishima said. Milotic used its tail and deflected the attack. "Now use Twister." Milotic unleashed the twister and blasted Umbreon with it. Umbreon tried to resist the attack, but failed and ended up getting blown back.

"Stay strong, Umbreon! Now use Swift!" Ichigo said. Umbreon was able to attack in the air as Umbreon unleashed a barrage of stars with Milotic getting hit.

"Umbreon's putting up a fight, but that Milotic is powerful." Rukia said.

"I'm sure Ichigo will find some way to win it." Orihime said.

"You might be right, Orihime, but it won't be easy for him." Chad said. Ichigo could see he had a real fight on his hands. Milotic is powerful, and Umbreon is his last pokemon. There's got to be a way for him to turn this around.

"You going to be okay, Umbreon?" Ichigo asked. Umbreon looked like it was still willing to battle. "Good. All we need now is a plan."

"I'm afraid it's too late for that. Milotic, Iron Tail." Tsukishima said. Milotic went at Umbreon and tried to smash its tail against Umbreon.

"Umbreon, hold it back with Psychic!" Ichigo said. Umbreon tried using Psychic to hold Milotic back, but Milotic was resisting. Milotic was able to push through the Psychic and tried smashing its tail against Umbreon, but barely missed it. "Umbreon, get back!" Umbreon jumped back and readied itself for anything.

"Milotic was able to resist Umbreon's Psychic. That must be one tough pokemon."

I think it's time we ended this. Milotic, Hydro Pump." Tsukishima said. Milotic used the attack and blasted Umbreon with all that pressured water. Umbreon was hit hard, but was still standing.

'If we attack, Milotic could just use Recover. We need to land a strike before they get the chance to do that.' Ichigo thought. He tried to think of how he can do that and soon thought of an answer.

"I said that this battle ends. Milotic, Iron Tail." Tsukishima said. Milotic went in for one last attack.

"Just what I wanted! Protect!" Ichigo said. Umbreon formed a barrier around itself and was able to block the attack. "Now grab Milotic and don't let go!" Umbreon jumped up and bit Milotic's tail.

"What's this?! Umbreon has grabbed Milotic and doesn't seem to let go!"

"What are they up to?!" Tsukishima said as he couldn't tell where this was going.

"Now build up all the power you can! Shadow Ball!" Ichigo said. Umbreon tried to build power with its next attack. The dark orb was forming and was growing bigger and bigger with Milotic being swallowed up by it. "Now release it!" Umbreon released the giant Shadow Ball. When it made contact, an explosion went off with Milotic taking massive damage that Milotic was beaten.

"Milotic is unable to battle! Umbreon is the winner! Victory goes to Ichigo!" The referee called.

"It's over and done! Ichigo is the winner!" The crowd cheered for his victory with all of his friends cheering for him. That's one win down and the rest to go.

Later

"Here you go, Tsukishima. All the pokemon you left for me are in great health." Nurse Joy said as she handed him the three pokeballs. After his battle, Tsukishima made sure all of his pokemon were well.

"Thank you." Tsukishima said as he took them back and was on his way out.

"Tsukishima..." He looked to the side and saw Ichigo. "You're leaving already?"

"There's no reason for me to stick around." Tsukishima said as he was on his way out.

"I will admit you're a great trainer, Tsukishima! Let's battle again!" Ichigo said. Tsukishima was rather surprised by what Ichigo offered. Either way, he would be glad to battle Ichigo again. Even though they had their differences, it seems that they are ending things on good terms. With one rival down, Ichigo can look forward to the rest of the tournament

With him earning the win, Ichigo advances in the Kalos League. Ending a rivalry, Ichigo can look forward to the rest that is to come. The Kalos League has had a good start. The only way to see how it all plays out is to keep watching.
