Saphira looked at the hologram of the dart with a smile and looked at Tobias. She saw all the paperwork she had created to try and create a console to operate the darts remotely, and he was going through it. And she also noticed the console she had made to operate the dart on the planet was also here, it was not brought with them the day she was brought to Cynthia, so she wondered if Vladimir had returned to bring the items to allow Tobias time to read through them.

"Your work that you have written so far is very impressive Saphira, but you are not quite able to understand our technology so greatly at the moment," Tobias said, laying out the work on the table. "And this console, it is crude and impressive, but it did not work for that reason."

"That makes sense, perhaps you can explain it to me some more," Saphira suggests, walking over to the table to look at her work. "I did get from working on the dart that humans cannot operate them. Am I correct on that?"

"Yes, as the darts only respond to wraith and that is the main reason why it did not work," Tobias nodded with a smile. "At least you seem to understand that, I was not sure. So I can skip telling you why you cannot use the darts."

"I assume it's a security thing, and that is rather smart honestly," She smiled at him. "And that means whatever we come up with you will have to test it."

The wraith nodded, confirming her concerns regarding the dart. "I am going to go off the notes you have written down Saphira. What there is so far is enough to give us a head start. I think at the moment a basic console like what you have is what we need to work on before creating a large system to control the darts."

"That is the idea I was going for, and I noticed how the cockpits are in the darts, I had considered creating the remote consoles similar to that so it will be easier for you to use due to the familiarity and it will still give you the feeling of being in the dart. I feel anything else might be distracting for you."

"That is actually very considerate of you. Tell me, you are so relaxed with us right now and I know it is partly because you are immune, but why were you insistent on working for us? Aside from the whole vengeance thing and all." Tobias looked at Saphira with burning curiosity.

And now that the question was out, Saphira thought about the answer, and realized she did not have an answer at the moment. She frowned and thought for a few minutes, and the wraith realized that Saphira may not know why she had chosen to work for them aside from vengeance. Because, when she gets that vengeance, what is the other motive?

"I don't think I have really thought about that honestly," Saphira said sincerely. "I honestly feel privileged that I am able to learn about the wraith in a different light and that you are nicer than you appear to be. I understand the whole predator complex, and the need to be feared is your strength, but I think humans would feel more sadness and pity if they knew the other side."

Clasping his hands together, Tobias smiled at the girl, she really was sweet towards them, and he did not know what they had done to deserve it. Her understanding of them as a predator was beyond respect, and she held nothing by appreciation for her. "I think your true reasoning is exactly what you just said Saphira. You feel comfortable with us as if we were humans. I am glad that you do not see us as monsters."

"I used to, but that was when I was a child. I grew up and pondered on the question for years before Vladimir found me. I am a weird person I suppose, but I think there is nothing wrong with trying to understand the other beings that live in this galaxy. After all, we share this space and worlds whether we like it or not. However, I think humans should remain in the dark about this." The wraith nods, agreeing with her statement. "If humans knew this side of you, they might try and take advantage of that."

"You would be correct Saphira, human tribes like the Genii would exploit it most certainly," Tobias said softly. "But enough of that, we should begin. Cynthia would like a prototype ready to test in thirty days."

"Thirty days? She never told me that." Saphira was shocked the queen would not mention this to her. She thought she would be given time, but perhaps the queen was silently wanting it done sooner than later.

"I apologise if she has not, but this came from Simplicity and she did not want to tell you straight away," He said, pressing a few more buttons to bring up a basic console on the hologram to work with to create a remote control for the darts. "I believe we can do this, the console part will be the hard part, everything else after will be easy."

"I hope you are right," Saphira said, walking up to the hologram. "Is this interactive?"

"Yes it is, and it is based off your console. It just needs to be changed some." Tobias picked up one of the paper to bring over to her. "Look."

Saphira looked at it and read what Tobias has written. "Ooh! All I need to do is this." She looked at the hologram and moved her hands to pick apart the console. She was surprised that it would and she began to add and change a few things, Tobias observed her intently. The console remained the same shape for the time being, but it would work differently. "There, we just need to build it."

Tobias nods and walked away to a cabinet. He opened it and pulled out a lot of pieces, wires, circuit boards, console screens and such. "We will need to build it from scratch. I can create an adaptor to put into one of the darts that would act as the connector for the remote console."

"And this is going to take a while," Saphira said with a smile. "I can see why thirty days is needed. I hope she won't be disappointed if the prototype is not ready."

"She will be, but I think Simplicity will understand if there are good reasons for the delay," He said, bringing the pieces to an empty table to place down. "Let me get some tools and we can begin."

Saphira walked over excitedly, picking up the different pieces to look at them curiously as they were very different to what she was used to. When Tobias brought over the tools, she had to look at them too and he explained what they were for. She picked up one of the tools that looked a bit like a screw driver with a tiny tip and began to work on one of the circuit boards to start putting things together. It became obvious that even with these tools it was going to take a while. Tobias also picked up a larger circuit board to work on. They both were silent most of the time, except when they looked at each other's work and used the hologram of the console as a reference to what they were doing, along with new notes they were writing down. The wraith though was observing Saphira more than he was working on the project, he saw how motivated she was working on this project and the determination he could smell from her was rubbing off on him. She obviously would work for many hours, and that is exactly what happened. Saphira ignored her need for food and water during the five hours she was working on the project, and Tobias had to encourage her to use the bathroom with the warning he did not like human waste all over his lab room floor. She knew she should be comfortable while working on the project, but she was the kind of person who would get stuck into something and not stop unless she is finished or if someone was to pull her away. And that is what was happening. She finished the first circuit board and connected some wiring before working on some smaller wiring to add onto the board. Her eyes started to droop some eight hours into the project, and despite the loud grumbling of her stomach, she was being stubborn.

Tobias could sense all this though and he sighed deeply. "Saphira I think you should stop now. I can continue working on this while you eat some food and rest."

"I am fine," Saphira lied, speaking as quickly as she could to seem determined.

"I know this means a lot to you, but you were told not to burn yourself out," He said, walking around to her and gently grabbing her wrists. "Put these down and Vladimir will take you to your room."

"But…"

"Come Saphira, your room is ready," Vladimir's interrupts Saphira. He walked over to them and peered at the table. "Looks like you have done well already, but it is only the first day Saphira. Come, you can come back tomorrow."

Saphira sighed deeply, looking at her hands before begrudgingly placing the tools and pieces on the table. Tobias lets go of her wrists and she turned to follow Vladimir, she tripped over her own foot into his arms however.

"Are you okay?" Vladimir said, holding her up to steady her with a concern frown.

Saphira felt embarrassed to trip like that, and she glanced at her feet for a moment before looking up at him. "Yes, I was not paying attention to where my feet were. Sorry, I did not mean to…"

"Have me catch you right?" The commander teased with a chuckle. "It is not problem at all. But hopefully you will return to your room sooner than today."

She smiled at him, the humour from these wraith was very amusing to her. She knew they did not joke with humans very much, and it was likely a treat for them. Plus, she quite enjoyed it as well. She moved to walk past him and Vladimir turned to lead her through the cold hallways to the room. She realized she was shivering and her feet were tingly, and that was the reason why she had tripped was because they were asleep. She realized she would need to move her feet more often to prevent that from happening. But walking felt funny and the wraith looked at her as she was walking funny.

"Are you sure you are not injured? Why are you walking like you can't feel your feet?" Vladimir asked in concern.

"I am sure, and my feet were actually asleep, so they just feel a bit tingly as feeling comes back to them again," She reassured him with a smile. She glanced around for a moment to get to know the hallway to her room. "I hope getting my room ready was not a drama."

"It was not, but getting more clothes for you might be harder," Vladimir responds. Saphira rose an eyebrow at him. "What I mean is, the worshippers are a bit miffed that you are here. We are not sure why, but they are strangely reluctant to help make clothes for you. They don't seem to trust you."

"Why does that not surprise me? A human not trusting another human, especially when one is working with the wraith and not as a worshipper," Saphira said in a mocking tone. She was already unimpressed with the worshippers by what Vladimir said, and it made her wonder what their actual motives were. "One would think they would be happy."

"Cynthia has seen to it that they won't do anything to you without severe consequences. You have our word that your protection is a high priority. As someone who wants to work for us with the respect you have, the queen felt it necessary to treat you like you are one of us." He smiled at her as he saw her shocked expression. "You were not expecting that were you?"

"Not in that way, no," Saphira smiled at him. "Thank you."

Vladimir was pleased with it and walked to a right to a hallway with a round door to the left. "This is your room in here."

Saphira's smiled widened as the door opened, but her expression dropped as she saw a massive bed with a black and white quilt with floral patterns on it. There was also a small dining room, a heater that was a false fireplace with a couple couches in front of it, a few bookshelves and numerous drawers around the room. There was an archway that led into a bathroom that Saphira had yet to see, and a double door on the right side of the room near the bed, she assumed it was a wardrobe.

"This is so much! Is this really mine?" Saphira said in disbelief. She looked at the wraith curiously. "This feels like a place for a queen."

"It really is yours, and we truly want you to feel comfortable here even if this is what it takes," Vladimir said affirmatively. "Cynthia also picked this room for you personally, so you would offend her if you reject it."

"I…I am speechless!" Saphira walked into the room slowly. It was still dark, but the heater was on so it felt very cosy in the bedroom. "My old bedroom was never like this."

"And this is what you have always deserved," He said with a smile. Vladimir glanced to his lift when he heard some footsteps. "Ah, Michladen, bringing our friend her meal huh?"

Saphira turned to look at him. The green wraith still seemed grumpy and huffed at Vladimir when he spoke to him. "You should have brought it."

"Yeah, then you would have had to escort Saphira here," Vladimir said with a grin. "And you don't like her yet, so I don't think so."

She did wonder if he will ever like her. The junior commander looked at her with a scowl, luckily he did not glare at her. She hoped she would get to talk to him alone as than she would be able to understand how and why he was feeling this way towards her.

"I hope this was worth it," He grumbled, walking into the room to place the tray onto the dining table.

"Thank you," Saphira said in a small voice.

The wraith stopped and looked at her with a brief look of surprise, he had not expected a small, innocent tone from her. But his expression returned to fierce quickly. "I hope you will not be late like this all the time."

Saphira was silent as he left the room. Vladimir growled at him when he walked past, she heard nothing, but she was sure there was an exchange going on between them. She walked over to the table to sit down, and she felt a big yawn hit her. She finally noticed how tired she really was.

"I hope that is not a sign you will fall asleep right there, that does not look comfortable to sleep in," The commander said as he entered the room, closing the door to keep the warmth in.

"No, I just realized how tired I am honestly," Saphira said as she lifts the lid of the food. The delicious aroma made her stomach growl angrily. "This looks and smells good."

"I hope so, that beast inside you sounds angry." The girl giggled at his comment as she began to cut into the food. "Well it is true, we do not have to deal with that."

"True, just a different kind of hunger," Saphira smiled as she took her first mouthful. "Should I expect breakfast like this tomorrow?"

"Yes, but you'll have to let us know."

"How, I don't have telepathy like you?" She questioned with a curious frown.

"Simple, I left this here." The wraith held up his hand, it was an oval shaped piece of technology. "We don't use these much, but it's a communication device. You'll be able to reach me, Tobias, Cynthia and Loroy on this. There is also a button on here to press for an emergency, but I doubt you will use it."

"I guess Michladen is not an option yet?" She questioned sadly.

"Ignore him for now Saphira, he is just being unhelpful right now. Before I go, is there anything else you need?" Vladimir placed the device on the side table by the bed. "I can show you where things are in the room."

"That is not needed, thanks Vladimir," Saphira responds with a smile. "I'll let you know when I'm finished with the food so someone can remove the tray."

The commander nods and left the room quietly without another word. Saphira sighed deeply and ate the food in silence. She looked around the room again, very happy to have a room to sleep in even if it was very big. She finished her meal and explored the room first, she checked the drawers and there was a bit of clothing, but not much. The double door on the right of the room indeed turned out to be a wardrobe, a walk-in wardrobe nonetheless, there was some dresses and coats in here too. She did not need too much more clothing, at least that is what she felt. She than walked into the bathroom, it was considerably smaller than the bedroom. There was a toilet, vanity with a sink, storage and towel racks. The bath though was rather large, it could fit three average sized humans in it, it had a shower head and the tub would be a great place to soak in. Saphira smiled and decided to have a hot shower. She went out to grab pyjamas and new underwear before walking back into the bathroom and placing the new clothes on the vanity. She began stripping, only to pause when she realized there was no hamper. She looked around and opened one of the doors underneath the vanity sink and found a hamper there. She pulled it out and sat it by the doorway and removed her clothes to place them in. She stepped into the shower and felt herself in a trance as she stood under the water. She did not know how long she was there until she noticed the lotion, shampoo and conditioner on the holder on the wall of the shower. She felt very pampered right now, and she could not help but think how lucky she was to meet the wraith. She found herself feeling a love that was normally reserved for family, and that is how she began to look at the wraith as. Family.
