"A transition of power. Does it say how he died?" Benedikt paced around looking from Walsh to the screen.
"Its not very specific. Just mentions of the killer being stabbed moments after they killed Perseus."The man replied, reading everything in the 1982 report.
"And the new figurehead? Who was it?"
"A woman."
"No name? No picture? Nothing?"
"No." Walsh scrolled down, a video ready to be played. He pressed the start button.
There was rain. It was storming, heavily. They all watched the footage that was captured from an old security camera from a large ship, most likely sunken somewhere in one of the many oceans. There was a body lying in the corner of the camera, only the feet visible.
On the other side, he saw Park. Knife in hand as she stabbed the masked man in front of her. As she gently laid the body down he noticed a weapon lying by the man's side. It was his own. He was the body. She had betrayed him. The video ended as waves crashed against the camera.
"Pointless footage." Baker said.
He gently placed a hand over his mouth, almost as if to judge something. He took a deep, quiet breath. He couldn't break right now. Any time but now.
"Lets keep looking I want to know just about everything up until this point." Benedikt turned back to face the other two. They spent hours pulling up file after file, so much knowledge.
"Well and thats the entire history of Perseus in one day." Walsh said, shutting off the terminal.
"Get some rest. Walsh will show you to your quarters. Maybe tomorrow you can meet the rest of the team." Baker said. Benedikt could tell she was still skeptical about him.
"Your right here." Walsh walked him down a long hallway. It was lined with a few doors, other people's quarters.
"So who's next door?" He asked
"Unfortunatly for you, Spectre. But he's pretty quiet, just sleep with one eye open." Walsh teased.
"And to my left?"
"Hyjack, Hejek, hypnosis, I can't remember how to pronounce his name. You got a loud neighbor."
"How is he loud?"
"You'll see." Walsh patted his shoulder, leaving him at the door.
His room was nice. It didn't matter to him the small size. It was a bit bigger than he expected but it was impressive. His bed was built like a normal bunk but it certainly didn't look like it. Its metallic rim and design made it stand out, matching the walls. He saw a small remote lying on an small table by his bed.
He picked it up, eyeing it before pressing a button. On the wall, emitted a large amount of light. It was a TV. He pressed the button, changing channels. One was the news, a few were black and white films and TV shows, while the remaining channels were settings. One setting was on the moon, another in the rainy forrest, and another on a roof in New York. It was beyond anything his mind could ever conjure up.
He had a nice desk on the wall, opposite of his bed. It was accompanied with a nice leather chair. There were even lights built into the wall above the desk with an option to change their color. In the corner of the room was a small sliding door that he would have missed if he wasn't looking carefully enough.
Sliding the door open he found a stand up shower, toilet, and sink. Reality had hit him harder than any weapon ever could.
He was running out of time. He had about two days left before he was going to need to return back to New York if he ever wanted to go back home. How was he ever going to get this DNI in just two days. It would certainly help to learn more about it. If only he had his team..
His team. Park. How could he be so foolish? She turned his back on him. Why! There had to be a valid reason. She wanted the throne. Surely that must be it. Why else would any other ruler of any empire, faction, or even any child's team want to be at the top other than for the benefits of authority. Authority over all. He just so happened to be in the way. He was a tool. Adler, Hudson, they told him this. It seemed in his final moments she only reminded him by peircing him with a blade.
He had given her his trust and everything with it. Something he knew he shouldn't have done again. Not after the first time. But he did. And death is what he received in return. If he were going to die by her hand he wouldn't go without spilling some blood.
Time was a crazy concept. He didn't exactly understand how it worked. But he knew enough to understand that his death was not now. It was months away, which is still chilling but he had time to prepare. And just because it happened in one universe didn't mean it was destined to happen again. He hated when his mind wandered like this.

"Come check this out." Beck said to the others from the other room.
"What is this?" Park asked. They all stood there looking at the metal platform in front of them. The room around them seemed abandoned, as did the entire facility. A ghost town.
"I have no idea." Beck ran his fingers along the metal surface.
"Portnova, go power up those terminals. I want to know what this thing is and how it works." Park pointed towards the multiple buttons over to their right.
Hours were spent trying to find the right pattern of buttons on the large terminal. The green computer screen lit up on the terminal.
"We got something." Portnova said, waving people towards the screen.
"Some sort of coordinates." Beck observed as they huddled together, the other three soldiers keeping their distance. Portnova pressed another button and there was a loud beep from the platform behind them.
"Yes, but they're already set. What the hell have they been up to?" Park said. She walked onto the platform, looking up and down.
"What are you doing?" Beck asked.
"Its a.. portal of some kind. We came here to find our own, and if this may be the way there then so be it." She said, readying her weapon.
"Comrade, we don't even know whats on the other side of this portal." Portnova tried to stop her.
"Thats exactly why we need to go through. What if we have a chance at preventing the Americans from advancing any further with tech like this. Plus Benedikt may very well be on the other side."
Beck sighed, a long pause between them all. "Portnova what are the coordinates?" He finally asked.
There was no reaponse for a moment.
"Portnova?" He asked.
"Uhm. December 28, 1969." She said slowly, confusing them all.
"This isn't just transportation to another place on this earth. Its a destination to twelve years ago.." Park said.
"So... the Americans have figured out time travel?" Beck asked, with a sigh.
"It appears so." Portnova pressed a few more buttons.
"Are we sure we all still want to do this, because I'm perfectly fine with not jumping back in time. I get.. time sick.. easily." Beck looked around the room, waiting for anyone to speak up.
"Looks like your coming with us Beck. Portnova ready the platform, everyone put these on and get up here." Park pointed to a pile of suits. None of them knew what they were but something told her it would be beneficial to have them.
Portnova started up the platform, a loud turning sound getting faster and faster. She ran up with them, waiting for something to happen.
"This is the strangest thing I'v done today!" Beck said tensly, a large beam of light coming down above, consuming all six of them.
