2065

Spectre dodged the speeding bullet with his boost pack, sliding to the right.

Benedikt fired bullet after bullet, not a care in the world the lack of bullets he had to resupply his weapon. The assassin dodged all of them. Hearing a sudden click in the weapon, he flipped the gun around as the figure rushed him.

He acted on his defenses, returning each punch and kick as he avoided the blue humming blade. With the barrel of the gun in his hand, he tried hitting the man in the side of the head but ultimatly failed when Spectre cut the weapon in half.

"Dammit!" Benedikt shouted. Thinking of another tactic he beat the man down to one knee for the snallest second. It was just enough time to grab a part of his thrusters and rip it apart. He tossed the peice over the edge of the building. Spectre felt his back for the missing component, a few blue sparks flying as he tried to boost up. He let out a frustrated grunt.

The two continued to go back and forth with hand to hand combat, each matching the other's speed, never seeming to tire. Benedikt managed to grab Spectre's bladed wrist with one hand, his other occupied by Spectre's other hand. He manuvered the blade towards the figure's abdomen, slowly working against the man's feat of strength.

"You must be running out of time Romanov. You might as well stay here, in this world. You know just as well as I do that your "friends" don't give a damn about you! Everyone you've ever aquainted yourself with has always found a way to either leave you or turn on you. Theres nothing for you back home. You would dominate if you ruled here, by my side of course." Spectre said through tight breaths.

"I must be in your head pretty terribly if your offering me a proposition. Especially this early on in the fight." Benedikt chuckled, the both of them still resisting the other's strength.

Realizing he was only exerting himself by trying to strike the man this way he shoved their arms up towards the helmet. The blade ran across the side of Spectre's helmet. As it did, Spectre went on the offensive, shoving his arm further, ensuring Benedikt wouldn't escape unscathed. The both stumbled in opposite directions, catching themselves.

"Its far from being over." Spectre said, half of his smile being shown by the exposed part of his helmet. His sythesized voice was slowly giving out as it glitched and fluxuiated.

Benedikt heard a small click inside his helmet. "Oh.." he laughed, a confident glint in his eye. His cyber core was ready to use again. "Your so f-" he was stunned with an electric charge before he could finish his sentence.

"Soldiers! Stand down!" Outrider shouted, as she and Reaper joined them on the roof.

"Let's take a short intermission shall we, Romanov?" Spectre mumbled as he threw his hands up.

Benedikt slowly rose to his feet, doing the same as the two approached them, weapons in hand.

"I'll take the robot, we'll finish this in a minute." Spectre whispered.

He looked at the watch Adler had given him. He had thirty minutes to grab a DNI sample. He would need a miracle. "I don't have a minute!" Benedikt shouted, tackeling Spectre off the edge of the roof. He realised how careless his actions were but he didn't care they needed a change of scenery anyways. Quickly adjusting the correct date he was about to send them when Spectre head butt him, allowing his gaurd to be temporarily let down. The assasin grabbed a hold of his wrist. And with a single movement of the thumb he changed the year and pressed the button.

"No!" Benedikt shouted, quickly grabbing Spectre's blade and activating it into the man's side while his gaurd was also let down. Suddenly they were no longer falling helplessly to their own deaths.

"And done!" Thomas tossed his hands up with a smile.

"With some time left to spare too. Great job!" Beck patted the man on the back, looking at their timer.

"You got it?" Park rushed over.

"I beleive so. We'll just need to press a few buttons to work this thing. Speaking of which.. does this thing do time travel?" He asked her.

"Yes."

"So am I helping you jump to a certain point... what exactly is going on?" He stood up from his sitting position.

She had tried avoiding this question as much as possible. "Your helping bring back a friend." She gave a sad smile.

"A friend? Well any friend of yours is a friend of mine." His character was filled with joy. "Whats their name?" He saw the narrow look in her eyes as if she had something to tell him that he wouldn't want to hear. "Wait... his name." He said with sudden realization.

"I'll explain this to you later, we working with short time right now." She said, rushing away to a different terminal.

"Wait, Helen!" Thomas said, a confused look on his face.

"Later Thomas. I promise." She said. "We have a set of coordinates, correct?" She asked Portnova who was working one terminal.

"Yes, your friend Adler coughed them up while you two were gone." She typed.

"Good." She watched as the coordinates were typed in. "2065?! I don't want to imagine how far gone our world is by then."

"Luckily we won't live to see it." Portnova said. "We're set over here."

"Beck, Thomas, power up the machine." She said over her shoulder. As they did so the computer screen in front of them appeared along with a grid and green dot.

"Theres our guy." Portnova nodded towards the dot. They both watched as it danced around. "We can get him as long as he stays within the vacinity."

"Beck, Thomas!" Park signaled for them to open the gateway.

The large blinding light appeared before them. The enclosed portal holding it. A large crashing noise boomed and hummed with the beam. Suddenly it dissappeared. There was nobody there in the tube.

"No..." Park mumbled to herself. She looked back at the screen. The green dot was gone. There was no activity, as if it had never been there. The others rushed over to find the same results on the screen.

"I don't understand." Thomas said looking at it. They all chattered among themselves. Park stepped aside, facing the portal. Her mind and face were blank. There was still an option. She walked over to Adler, not wasting any precious time.

"Tell me what the hell just happened!" She slammed body against the railing.

"I'll let your time run some more before I say anything else. I know how much you enjoy a good challenge." He let out a rough cough as he laughed before he began receiving punch after punch. It had been a while since he had seen this kind if mindless rage. He would die soon, but he had been itching to see someone break like this.

The two of them landed in deep snow. When he woke up he found himself alone, freezing. His watch laid beside him. He had no idea where Spectre had taken them or even where the wet works specialst was. Benedikt stood up, to see a cabin in the distance. Smoke puffed from its chimney. He recognized the large home. It used to belong to him. He trudged along in the snow until he reached the front yard. The skys were covered with gray clouds making temperatures even harsher.

Suddenly he heard Spectre's active camo hum. He was quick to dodge the man's blade with his thrust pack.

"Glad to be home Romanov?" He asked Benedikt.
