Sasuke once again glanced at the clock. His last class was almost over and all he could think about was where the hell Naruto was. He didn't share too many classes with the blonde, but he noticed that he wasn't in any of them.
He even went to the lengths of asking Gaara where Naruto was during his lunch period. The red-head just shrugged, not bothering to give him a proper response.
He let out a sigh and leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest. It wasn't like Naruto to just skip out like that either. He hoped the blonde was okay.
The final bell of the day rang and Sasuke quickly gathered his things and calmly but quickly, made his way out of the classroom. As he walked out the door, he spotted Itachi. As quickly as he could, he caught up with his older brother, raising an eyebrow at him. "Have you seen Naruto?"
"No. I haven't." Itachi replied dully, barely glancing at Sasuke.
Sasuke frowned. The two headed in the direction of the front of the school, Sasuke glancing around hoping to spot the familiar blonde head. "I haven't seen him all day. What if he got really sick, or someone trapped him in a locker? That happened before. Or what if he's been kidnapped."
Itachi only half-listened to Sasuke's ramblings. He was thinking himself of what could've happened to the blonde. He was suddenly blocked, and his thinking was interrupted as he focused on the two people in front of him.
Ino and Sakura were standing in front of them, a hand on each of their hips as they smiled at Sasuke. "Hey Sasuke." Sakura drawled out sweetly, batting her eyelashes.
Sasuke rolled his eyes before stepping to the side, and walking past them. Itachi's eyes widened at the action. He felt a sense of pride as Sasuke stuck to his promise for Naruto.
Sakura glared as the younger Uchiha didn't say anything to her. She turned, following him with her eyes. "I don't know why you're acting like this, Sasuke. You should be in a good mood, Naruto hasn't been here all day."
Sasuke paused in his walk, his body going rigid as he felt rage wash over him. He slowly turned to face her, his eyes narrowed in a dangerous glare.
Itachi quickly put his hand on his younger brother's shoulder, shaking his head as Sasuke looked at him with a questioning glance. "Ignore her, she's not worth your time. Focus your energy on finding Naruto."
"He probably just went home sick. Don't bother." Ino commented, flipping her blonde hair.
Sasuke turned his attention to her. "What are you talking about?"
Ino gave him a malicious smirk as she recalled the memory from earlier that day. "Well, when I tripped him earlier, he nearly fell. He was clinging to his stomach for dear life" She began to laugh, Sakura joining in with her.
Itachi glared at the blonde and pinkette. He gave them a sneer, mentally stopping himself from lunging at the girls.
"Maybe he'll catch such a bad virus that he even dies!" Sakura wheezed out and the girls began to cackle, having to lean on each other to stay standing.
Itachi let out a growl, and took a step forward. Just as he opened his mouth to say something, a loud slap was heard.
Three pairs of wide eyes looked and stared at Sasuke, his hand still up after slapping the pink haired girl. His eyes were narrowed in a viscous glare, his lip nearly curled in his teeth as a sneer was directed at her. "Do not talk about my boyfriend like that anymore or else you'll get much worse than just a slap to the face." The raven hissed out. The anger being heavily controlled. "From now on, the two of you stay away from Naruto. I don't want to see you two near him again."
Everyone's eyes seemed to grow wider at Sasuke's words. Sakura soon shook her head, gathering her composure before rolling her eyes. "Clearly you're in some type of mood. Chill out and we'll hang out again when you feel better." Sakura linked her arm through Ino's. "Come on, let's go." They begin to walk away from the two Uchiha brothers.
"Leave us alone. Forever!" Sasuke yelled at them. They continued their walking, brushing off his comment.
Itachi stood in front of Sasuke, a half smile on his face. "Honestly, I'm really proud of you, Sasuke. I would've never expected that from you."
Sasuke just shrugged before smirking at him. "I made a promise to him, I'm not going to back out of it now."
The announcement for the bus's departures came on through the loudspeaker. And Itachi nodded at his younger brother before the two made their way to the buses.
The brother's made it home, where they made their way upstairs and to Sasuke's bedroom. Sasuke slowly opened the door and both of them let out a breath of relief as they saw Naruto lying on the bed. The younger raven frowned as he noticed Naruto was just staring off, a blank look in his eyes. He stepped into the room and turned to face Itachi. "I got it from here. Thanks." He shut the door before Itachi could say anything.
Itachi frowned and turned to leave, when his curiosity got the best of him. He turned back around, staring at the door before standing off to the side, straining to hear the conversation being held inside.
After shutting the door, Sasuke made his way over to the bed. He looked down at Naruto before slowly sitting on the bed, sitting on the edge. He placed a hand on Naruto's hip and gave him a concerned look. "What's wrong?"
The blonde is silent, staring blankly at the wall. He let out a slow breath, closing his eyes before reopening them. "My grandparents took me out of school."
Sasuke's eyes widened in shock. "What? Why'd they do that?"
"They wanted me to come and move back in. I got in an argument with my grandma. It got pretty bad. Grandpa had to step in but it didn't help, at all. She tried to throw it in my face that I need her after telling me she made an ultrasound appointment for me, since she has all my important documents and stuff and told her she can't treat me as a hostage." Sasuke nodded, encouraging Naruto to continue. "So I thanked them for the appointment, told them I wasn't moving back in and I left. Oh, my ultrasound appointment is for next Friday at noon by the way."
Sasuke looked away sheepishly. "I uh, already made plans for that day."
Naruto turned his head, frowning at Sasuke. "But it's the first ultrasound appointment. It'd mean the world to me if you can come with me." Unshed tears began to pool in the corner of his eyes.
Sasuke reached out his hand, using his finger to wipe away the corner of Naruto's eye. "I promise, I won't miss it. I'll make sure to leave early so I can go with you."
Naruto studied Sasuke's face carefully before slowly smiling. "Okay. Don't forget it."
Sasuke gave him a smirk and shook his head. "Never." He stood from the bed and placed a kiss on Naruto's forehead. "I'm going to grab some food and be right back. You want anything?"
Naruto shook his head and watched asa he left the room.
The raven opened the door and narrowed his eyes in suspicion as he saw Itachi still in the hallway, a few feet away from Naruto's door. He shook his head, and smirked as he walked towards his older brother. "Hey, Itachi!"
Itachi raised an eyebrow as he turned to look at Sasuke.
"Naruto has his first ultrasound appointment next Friday. Isn't that great? I'm excited to go."
"That's great news, Sasuke." Itachi gave him a small smile. "Did you write down the time so you won't forget?"
"Don't worry, Itachi, I got it memorized." He smirked as he tapped his temple.
Itachi laughed at his younger brother's enthusiasm, watching as he walked down the hall and down the stairs. As soon as he was out of sight, a mischievous smirk slowly spread across his face.
