Chapter 1

A/N: Well here is one of the prequels to Unable To Love You, this is the second story being uploaded and hopefully the rest will be loaded by the end of the week. Take care and let me know what you think of the story!

Late in the afternoon in the city owned by Karasuno, the young soon to be boss Koshi sighed as he walked around. Koshi has light grey hair and hazel eyes with a beauty mark under his left eye. He had just finished a mission in collecting debt and left his friends to clean up as he went to go find something to do. 'There's nothing to do in the city anymore. I'm pretty sure I've been to every club, every arcade, every store, every bar, and just ugh everywhere.' Koshi thought as he looked around. 'Maybe a new play thing?' He thought as he spotted a crowd that was forming around a few people. 'Maybe it's in there.' He smirked as he walked over to see what was going on. He pushed through the crowd a bit and watched two people fighting. He watched them scream and punch each other before he recognized one of the fighters. 'That's one of the Inarizaki's guys. They don't normally fight unless the other party is wrong though. Dumbass, hope he isn't picking on a smaller family.' He thought as before he heard a whistle being blown as two police officers came in. Koshi's eyes widened as he locked eyes briefly with the tall officer. The officer had short brown hair and dark brown eyes while the other officer had light brown hair and freckles.

"Knock it off you two." The brown-haired police officer said as he held back the Inarizaki member. "You're both going down to the station!" He yelled as he cuffed the guy.

"Officer, you don't understand that man was stealing from the electronic shop!" The Inarizaki member yelled.

"What? He's lying!" The other yelled as the other officer held him down.

"Check his pockets!" The Inarizaki member yelled.

The brown haired police man looked at his partner and nodded as the light brown haired man checked the others pockets. He pulled out some phones and CD players.

"What? When did that get there?! I didn't do this!" The man yelled.

The brown haired man shook his head, "Take him to the car. Can anyone confirm your statement?" He looked at the Inarizaki member.

"I can, officer." Koshi walked up to them with the electronics store owner. "What he said is right, I was in the store when it happened. Here is the owner as well."

"Yes, this man went after the thief." The electronic store owner said.

"See, I was helping." The member explained.

"Maybe so but you still fought in the street. Once at the station we'll take your statement and see what to do." The officer said as he still had the cuffs on him.

"Come on officer, you can see he was just trying to help. You gotta let him go." Koshi said as he defended the other, "If it wasn't for him you guys would have never caught the thief after all."

The officer sighed. "Fine but we're going to need statements and a way to reach you all." He said as he uncuffed the member.

"Of course, Officer…." Koshi started as he waited for the other to say his name.

"Sawamura. Officer Daichi Sawamura." Daichi said as he took out his notepad. "Now explain from the beginning what happened." After they explained what happened Daichi nodded and closed his notepad. "Alright Ren Omimi, we'll be calling you to make sure your statement is the same so do not leave the city." He explained before looking at a smiling Koshi. "You as well."

"Are you new to the city, Officer Sawamura?" Koshi asked innocently.

"I transferred here recently." Daichi explained.

"Then I hope to see more of you then. It's nice to have a new face in the city." Koshi smiled innocently, making Daichi give him a suspicious look.

"Right. Well that's all for today. Goodbye." Daichi said as he walked away to the police car where his partner and the criminal were waiting for.

Ren turned to Koshi and bowed. "Karasuno's future leader, I thank you for standing by the side of the Inarizaki family."

"No worries, you guys don't normally start trouble but cops won't understand that so I knew I had to help." Koshi smiled, "But what happened?"

"That was a member of the former Johzenji family. Many of their members are angry that the Inarizaki family has absorbed them so we've been tracking down those who have been causing problems." Ren explained.

"Well that's to be expected as the Johzenji family used to be a powerhouse before we came along. And now getting taken over by a neutral family, it must be a big change for their wild personalities." Koshi chuckled. "Please tell your boss that my dad, Ittetsu, sends his love."

"Of course, after all, you and your father Ittetsu will always be part and welcome in the Inarizaki family." Ren bowed agained.

Koshi smiled and nodded, "Of course." He smiled as he left the scene. 'Daichi Sawamura, let's see how fast you'll get corrupted.'

Daichi sighed as he got into the car with his partner. "I got the other's statements but something is off."

"Oh?" His partner, Hayato Ikejiri, looked at him confused, "What do you mean?"

"The owner, when I asked him if he wanted to press charges, he was kinda hesitant. Like he wanted to ask someone what to do but just nodded." Daichi said as he thought.

"Well to be fair, so many things happened so maybe he was overwhelmed?" Hayato suggested. "Either way, thankfully he stopped fighting." He said motioning to the man in the back.

"That's good. Better a quiet ride to the station than a loud one." Daichi said as he went over his notes. "The witness…there was something strange about him."

"Ha! You must be new around here." The man laughed as he leaned close to the barrier.

"What do you mean?" Daichi glanced over at him.

"That witness, he's one of the most dangerous men you'll ever meet. Best stay away from him, or who knows what that crow would do." The man smirked before he leaned back into his seat.

"Crow? What do you mean?" Daichi asked as he looked at him confused.

"Lawyer." The guy said and then just went quiet.

"Let it go Daichi. He already said lawyer, so let's just get him to the station." Hayato nudged him.

Daichi shook his head and went over his notes again. "I have a bad feeling about this."

"What do you mean you let him go!" Daichi yelled as he and Hayato were in their Captain's office.

"Like I said Daichi, we let him go." Captain Kazuyo Kageyama, a tall man with white hair and dark blue eyes, said.

"But why?!" Daichi asked a bit angrily. "It was by the book, the owner is pressing charges, what happened?!"

"Calm down Daichi." Hayato put a hand on his shoulder. "Let the captain explain."

Kazuyo sighed as looked at them, "The lawyer he called represents a well known mafia family called the Inarizaki Family." He explained, "And that lawyer came in with the store owner and the one our culprit fought with. They already agreed to a settlement and so the store owner isn't going to press charges."

"But we have him for fighting in public." Daichi tried to argue.

Kazuyo sighed. "It's not enough since both parties don't want to press charges against one another. Besides, the Inarizaki family has their ways of dealing with their people. We as the police can only do so much." Fuki sighed.

"Who are they anyways?" Hayato asked, "I've heard the name around but I don't know much."

"Right since you're both newish you haven't been caught up." Kazuyo rubbed his temples, "There are seven big crime families. They all have their own cities. The Shiratorizawa family, the Aoba Johsai family, the Date Tech family, the Fukurodani family, the Nekoma family, the Inarizaki family, and the Karasuno family. The Karasuno family happens to be in this city. But the Inarizaki family is special. They are the ones who keep the balance between the families, even the smaller ones. All their members are normally very calm and try to also not fight unless called for."

"That doesn't make sense, if the culprit is part of the Inarizaki family, why would he steal or even cause a scene like that?" Hayato asked.

"Well there is a rumor on the streets that there was some conflict from a former powerhouse. I might have something to do with that." Kazuyo explained.

"How do you know all about this captain?" Daichi asked.

"As the police force we must keep in check the city. So I've met a few of the heads of the mafia families. Sometimes because they report a crime or one of their members is a part of one. Either way, our job is to watch them. Unless we have hard evidence on them, try not to arrest them." Kazuyo explained.

"We're just supposed to let them go just like that?" Daichi looked at him in disbelief.

Kazuyo shook his head, "We don't know what's happening. Yes we know they are committing crimes. Which crimes is the question. So we can't do much unless the family starts to get out of control and their members start getting sloppy."

Hayato sighed. "Who would have thought something like this would be in this city."

Daichi nodded but then realized something as the words of the culprit rang in his head, "Captain, what's the name of the one who runs the Karasuno family?"

Kazuyo looked at him, "Keishin Ukai."

"Does he have a son named Koshi Ukai?" Daichi asked as he took out his notepad.

"Ah yes Koshi Ukai. We've arrested him and his friends from time to time. Always something petty so they get released after a few hours." Kazuyo groaned, "Why?"

"He was the witness." Daichi said, "Captain, I think what happened was a lie. Something else happened between the two who fought."

"Daichi, we cannot prove that. Just because the son of the mafia was there as a witness doesn't mean it's something big. That kid is always around." Kazuyo brushed him off.

"But Captain-" Daichi tried to argue.

"Enough Daichi. You two did a good job. Just write a report then you can head out." Kazuyo said as his tone was stern.

"Yes Captain. Thank you." Hayato bowed as he dragged Daichi out of the office.

"How can he just let it go?" Daichi asked as he was confused.

"You gotta pick and choose your battles Daichi, we may have let this go but next time we'll make sure they stay behind bars." Hayato smiled at him.

Daichi sighed but smiled back, "Yeah, we'll get them and serve justice."

"Exactly!" Hayato laughed, "Come on, let's finish our reports and I'll take you out to eat."

"You do remember how much I eat right?" Daichi chuckled as Hayato groaned.

"Right, I forgot you have a large stomach. Oh!" Hayato smiled as he got an idea. "I know a place to go. You'll love it."

"Where is it?" Daichi asked.

"You'll see." Hayato smiled as he went to do his report.

Daichi smiled as he and Hayato had changed out of their uniforms and went to a popular sports bar in the city. Currently they were at a booth drinking and eating chicken wings.

"You were right, this is good." Daichi smiled as he ate his chicken happily. "I should let you treat me more often."

"Ha ha ha, don't expect this all the time. We did a good job this week. Plus it would be nice to celebrate your first week here." Hayato chuckled as he raised his glass of beer, "A toast to you Daichi."

"A toast to you too." Daichi smiled as he raised his glass as they cheered and drank.

"Officer Daichi, is that you?" The two heard as they turned to see Koshi with a tray of drinks. "Woah I didn't expect you here, and out of uniform too."

"Ah, Koshi Ukai right? From earlier today." Daichi put his glass down and smiled at him, though it looked like it was forced, "Do you work here or?"

"Oh no, but I'm friends with the owner. When me and my other friend's come I just help myself to the tray and get our drinks. That way the staff can work on their own things." Koshi smiled, "Why not join us? It seems like you guys are celebrating, what's the occasion?" He asked as he scooted Daichi to move into the booth as Koshi sat next to him with the tray of drinks.

"Oh umm," Daichi glanced at Hayato for help.

"Oh um it's Daichi's first week on the job and he did really well so we came out to celebrate." Hayato explained.

"Oh wow you really are new here. And you Officer…" Koshi looked at Hayato.

"Hayato. Officer Hayato Ikejiri. I'm newish but I've been here for almost two months so I don't know how new I am." Hayato laughed a bit.

"Still pretty new since I haven't seen you before. Well to be fair I haven't been arrested for a while so that could be why I haven't met you." Koshi smiled.

"I don't think being arrested multiple times is a good thing." Daichi pointed out.

"I grew up in this city, Officer Daichi. I know almost every place, so after seeing everything, I got bored." Koshi smiled.

"Maybe take up a hobby?" Daichi suggested as he drank his beer.

"Oh, I already found one." Koshi smiled as he gave them the beers that he had on the tray, "Here have these, on the house as a congrats!"

"Oh no we can't accept that." Daichi said as he shook his head as he put the beers back on the tray.

"No no it's on the house, trust me the owner wants this." Koshi smiled as he put them back on the table and removed the tray. "Can't refuse them now."

"We really shouldn't." Hayato said as he tried to refuse.

"Nonsense! Oh, Chikara! I'm over here!" Koshi waved his hand as the other two turned to see a man with brown hair and eyes but had a sleepy look.

"There you are Koshi," Chikara sighed and shook his head. "You could have said something, you know."

"Sorry sorry, sit with us. Officer Daichi, Officer Hayato, this is Chikara, one of my good friends." Koshi said as he motioned Chikara to sit next to Hayato.

"Hello Officers." Chikara smiled as he sat down next to Hayato as he grabbed a drink from the table, "I'm sorry if Koshi is bothering you guys. He's just sociable."

"Hey!" Koshi pouted.

"No worries, can you just convince him that we can't just take his word that the drinks are on the house." Daichi said.

"Ah if Koshi says they're on the house then I would listen to him." Chikara laughed a bit. "Trust me, he will not let you guys out until you finish those drinks."

"I guess we have no choice then." Hayato laughed a bit, "Then how about we pay for the food."

"Oh that's covered." Koshi smiled as he snapped his fingers as a waiter brought out a tray full of chicken wings. "Let's celebrate!"

"We couldn't. We insist on paying. Besides, Daichi is a big eater." Hayato explained.

"Oh no worries, we know someone who is also a big eater. Go on, Officer Daichi, don't be shy." Koshi smiled too innocently as he lifted a wing, "Eat up."
