Author's Notes

Another day, another chapter. This chapter is shorter than the others. Personally this is my least favorite chapter so far, in order for the story to play out how I want it to I needed Batman to live in Konoha but actually coming up with a reason that made sense was difficult. Also the interrogation scene was difficult to write for me, but I hope you enjoy it anyways, and if you don't it will hopefully be better again after this chapter.

Batman will probably start learning how to use chakra in either the next chapter or the chapter after that one. It will be a few more chapters after that before he can use any cool jutsus but he will be able to use it to enhance his physical abilities fairly quickly.

Anyways, feedback is always welcome.

I don't own Batman or Naruto.

Please enjoy.

Chapter 4

Batman was waiting in the room for a while when three people finally came in. He recognized Ibiki and the blond lie detector from earlier but he didn't recognize the third. The third reminded him of an amazon, the air she gave off was full of pride and dignity and Batman could tell that she was one of the most dangerous people he'd seen in this dimension so far. The amazon-like woman had blond hair, brown eyes, and a dark purple diamond on her forehead.

"So you're the Bat I've heard so much about," she spoke. "My name is Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage and leader of Konoha." So this was the Hokage he had heard about before. Hokage must be the title used for the leader of the village then. She continued speaking, "I'm a busy person so I'll get straight to the point. Why are you here?"

An interrogation is usually one side trying to get information from the other but for Batman this interrogation served a very different purpose, this was almost a game, but the stakes were high. This was his first real interaction with civilization since he came to this world and how this goes will determine his relationship with this village, a village which, from what he's seen, is full of meta-humans with a large variety of abilities. He could create a helpful ally in his quest to get back home, or he could make a disastrous enemy, and he doesn't have the backup or supplies in this world to deal with such an enemy. The game begins.

"I'm not here for any reason. I'm here purely by accident." Batman stated matter-of-factly.

"You accidentally showed up in close proximity to one of the 5 Great Ninja Villages?" She questioned.

"Yes." Batman stated again. So this is a village of ninjas and a "great" one according to this Tsunade, one among five. Useful information.

"What are your intentions now that you're here?"

"I intend to get back to my world."

"Are you a threat to my village or this world?"
"I'm not a threat to this world, and as for your village," he paused, "Do I have a reason to be?

"What do you consider a reason?"

"If your village was trying to harm others without justifiable reason."

"How noble of you," Tsunade said with a smirk

"I try to be," Batman smirked back.

"Well we don't usually harm others without reason."

"Then I shouldn't be a threat."

Tsunade was quiet. Probably pondering what had been said so far. Time for Batman to move to the next step.

Tsunade was thinking over the interrogation thus far. The Bat had been honest so far including when he claimed he wasn't a threat, but he is an unknown. They don't know what he's capable of nor does she know what he might try to do other than find a way back to where he had come from. She needs to know more about him before she makes her next decision. So far all she knows is that he's smart, secretive about his identity hence why she hasn't bothered to ask yet, that and what his name is doesn't matter in terms of information, his name doesn't mean anything if he's not from their dimension. She also knows he's at least capable of beating a chunin level shinobi without chakra, which leads her to wonder what he'd be capable of with chakra, and he has advanced technology they've never seen before.

The Bat suddenly spoke up, "I propose an information exchange, I ask a question then you ask a question, and we can pass if it's confidential." Tsunade raised an eyebrow, an information exchange meant he'd be more willing to tell her about some more private things in exchange for whatever he's going to ask. The fact he's willing to give up information also means he's trying to gain their trust which means he likely wants something from them.

"Alright," Tsunade decided to start with something small, "What's your mask made of?"

"A combination of lead and Kevlar." He answered, and quickly followed with his question "What's the current state of this world?"

"No current major wars but there are small conflicts between the 5 Great Ninja Villages, and a terrorist group known as the Akatsuki has recently become known and is trying to steal the Tailed Beasts. What is technology like in your world?"

"Technology in my world is more advanced than here, especially in terms of communication from what I've seen. Tailed Beasts?"

"Nine giant beasts made of chakra with their power proportional to their number of tails. They're often captured and sealed inside of people to prevent the Tailed Beasts from causing destruction, these people are called Jinchuriki and are also important military assets. You mentioned you came here by accident, how exactly?"

"A device designed for communication between dimensions malfunctioned and sent me here. What's chakra?"

So he really doesn't know about chakra, Tsunade had guessed he might not from the fact that he didn't use chakra despite his skill but that question confirms it, "Chakra is a substance that resides in all living things and flows through the chakra network similar to how blood flows through veins and arteries. It's also what's used in all jutsu," The Bat's eyes widened a bit at her answer, not much but enough for her to notice. "What do you plan to do from here?"

"I'd like to reside in this village for the time being. I need to find out more about this world, and I need a place to set up to work on getting back home."

'So this is what he wanted' Tsunade mused. It's true that she wanted to keep an eye on him to be safe but… "You can stay in Konoha under three conditions," she stood up from her seat, "One, you will have to pay for your own residency. Two, you have to share your technology with us, and three, I need to know your name."
