Author's Notes

Welcome back. This chapter was pretty fun to write. I had a few things I've been playing around with. I like the idea of Batman investigating Bruce or the Akatsuki during the story and I can even think of a few ways to have it play out. I've also been playing around with having Batman recreate the effects of some Kekkei Genkai with his tech. If you watch Boruto there are a lot of scientific enhancements rolling around so it would be similar to that. I was thinking I could have Batman make a radar for chakra signatures, or modify his mask to let him see chakra flows similar to the Byakugan, stuff like that. What do you guys think.

Also, it's finally happened. He used chakra. I guess I should clarify some things. First off, Batman's chakra reserves are on the smaller side, similar to Kakashi's chakra reserves. With the chakra enhancements his is physically stronger than Might Guy but slower. I figure that since they've both trained to the peak of what's humanly possible they'd be similar in strength, but because Batman has a larger build than Guy it would make sense for him to be stronger but slower. Let me know what you think of that cause there is still time to play with the stats.

As for how Batman will fight with the addition of chakra. I think Batman would mostly be a taijutsu based fighter while using a few jutsus and using his tech as usual to give himself more advantages. But again, if you guys really want something else I can do something different.

Oh and one more thing. About the fight with the rogue chunin that happened earlier in the story. I feel like I should clarify why I think Batman could win that. While a chunin is no pushover Batman has insane reaction time, his skill in combat is also insane, and he has fought against enhanced, and trained, people before, just look at Deathstroke.

Anyways, you know the drill. Feedback's always welcome.

I don't own Batman or Naruto.

Please Enjoy.

Chapter 7

Bruce had been dragged before. He'd been picked up by Superman, dragged around by Wonder Woman, and carried around at high speeds by the Flash. But being dragged around by the amazon-like leader of a ninja village who was trying to avoid work was a new one. Bruce tried to protest a bit but it seems Tsunade not only shares the strength, but stubbornness of the amazons.

The first place she dragged him to was the main building for Research and Development where he was introduced to the people there. She then followed him back to the library because she needed to "escort" him or else she wouldn't have an excuse not to work.

Bruce went to the section, in the civilian library, for academy students and started educating himself on chakra, how to use it, and potential dangers of using it. Tsunade just watched for a moment before asking, "Why are you looking into chakra?"

"I believe I may be able to find a way home with Space-Time Ninjutsu," he said, not looking up from what he was reading.

She was quiet for a moment and then spoke again, "I'm actually surprised you can't use chakra already. Usually someone as trained as you would have some way of utilizing chakra, there are even some bandits out there who are able to use a jutsu or two. I would think someone like you could at least enhance your strength and speed."

"And why is that?" he asked, still not looking up from his book.

"The most common way that non-shinobi become aware of chakra is through a life or death experience. It causes a similar reaction as an adrenaline rush, the body unconsciously uses chakra to strengthen itself in an attempt to survive. I figure someone like you has had a few life or death experiences."

Bruce and Tsunade sat in silence for a while with Bruce reading over the academy textbooks and Tsunade going through an advanced medical textbook, until Bruce stood up. "Are there any training grounds I can use?" he asked Tsunade. She nodded and began to guide him to the nearest training grounds.

The training grounds were mostly a wide plain of grass with some trees off to the side and a lake.

Bruce stopped in the middle of the grass field and closed his eyes while Tsunade curiously watched from the sidelines with a bottle of Sake in hand which seemingly came out of nowhere. Bruce focused inwards on the odd feeling he had been feeling since he came to this strange world. He traced the feeling all throughout his body and spread it further into his muscles. It was an odd feeling trying to move his chakra, like trying to move a limb he never even knew he had, it reminded him of when he had to relearn to walk after his spine was broken.

During Bruce's research he found out one of the first things that is taught at the academy is how to strengthen the body with chakra. Most academy students do it until it becomes something they do unconsciously like breathing. The strengthening enhances physical strength, speed, reflexes, perception time, stamina, and even how much you can push the body before it starts damaging itself. His technique was still rough, it would smoothen out with practice, but he felt much, much lighter. It was honestly a bit disorienting. He picked a rock off the ground and threw it. It traveled faster and further than he'd ever thrown anything before. It was also off course. He'd need to work on getting used to the enhancement as well.

Bruce jumped. He definitely went higher than he's gone before, and he landed without any issues other than being slightly off balance. He's not used to landing from that high up, normally something would break. He then lowered his body and dashed forwards. The speed was definitely going to take the longest to get used to. As he launched off the world turned into a blur and he could feel the wind move around his body. It was like he was on a really, really fast motorcycle but he was running. It definitely wasn't as fast as Flash or Superman but it was much faster than a normal human could be.

It took a second for Bruce to come to a proper stop, and when he looked back he saw a boot imprint, about two inches into the ground, where he kicked off.

The next thing Bruce did was focus his chakra on his open palm. One of the things he had researched was about how chakra isn't visible to the normal eye unless there's a substantial amount of it in one spot. Bruce wanted to examine chakra more closely. Figure out his properties, find out how to use it, and how to beat it.

Focusing his chakra was harder than he thought it would be. When he managed to collect enough chakra for it to be visible he quickly began analyzing everything he could about it. It was a light blue color, it seemed almost like a gas but it was solid enough for him to touch it, he could also mold it with some difficulty. He took something from his utility belt and scanned it, and then stopped the chakra flow on his palm.

Bruce wanted to try one more thing, a jutsu. He wanted to observe the process of a jutsu. He slowly started to make the hand-seals for the clone jutsu. He had decided on trying the clone jutsu due to the fact that he could observe the results easier than the other academy jutsus. With each hand-seal he could feel his chakra shift. He made the last hand seal, called out the jutsu, felt the drain in his chakra, and watched as a poof of smoke erupted in front of him. He observed the result. He supposed it could be called a clone. It looked like a bizzaro version of himself, with messy hair and pale skin. It had no shadow and seemed to be swaying. He reached out to touch it but his hand went straight through it as it erupted in a puff of white smoke. Interesting.

From what he observed there were many parts in a jutsu. The hand signs were used to change the properties of the chakra. He also had to push the chakra out of himself, and he had to imagine the result of the jutsu to a certain extent, which seemed to be what calling out the jutsu name was for.

Bruce stood there, deep in thought, for a while until Tsunade seemed to have gotten bored of just sitting there. Honestly, if she didn't make herself known he probably would have ignored her all day. She started tapping her foot on the ground in slight annoyance. Bruce, being reminded of her presence, looked at her and asked, "What do you think?"

Tsunade raised an eyebrow, sighed, and then responded, "Your chakra control needs work, although for your first time it was good."

Bruce looked away again, thinking about his control and how to improve it. If he wanted to use Space-Time Ninjutsu he needed to master the basics first, especially chakra control. He started working through the various chakra control exercises he saw in the academy textbooks and incorporating it into his training routine along with the other techniques and jutsus he needed to work on. He was so absorbed in thought he almost didn't notice when Tsunade started dragging him off again. He stayed silent, he knew from experience that she was too stubborn for him to convince her to let him go.

Eventually she entered a building and stopped. Bruce looked around, "A casino?" He questioned. He didn't even know this village had a casino. He wasn't a huge fan of casinos despite how often he went to them as Bruce Wayne. Whenever he'd go he'd usually bring a "date", play a few games, use some of his skills to win some games, and then leave with a large amount of winnings. This casino was fairly small by his standards but was busy with people nonetheless.

"Time to have some fun," Tsunade said with a grin. Bruce saw the look on her face. This woman was a gambler. She continued through the building and led him to a separate room. Turns out the casino was split into two parts, one for civilians, one for shinobi, she just led him to the shinobi part.

At first glance it was largely the same, but upon looking closer that's when he started to notice why there were two parts. Cheating. There was every trick he'd seen and then some, some slight of hand, card counting, and he even saw various jutsus at work. Some insects flying around the room in a way that wasn't quite natural, somebody using chakra to manipulate the reflection of his drink, and so much more. It was honestly quite impressive, if all casinos were like this he might even enjoy his visits, although the amount of minors was a bit concerning.

Tsunade went off to one of the tables and sat down. Bruce followed for now. The Hokage was given their position based largely off of skill and he was looking forward to seeing how she would cheat. Surely as the Hokage and as a frequent gambler she must have incredible skill.

Bruce's assumption was quickly proven wrong.
