"Finally... finally it's here. Your very own SKIN. Taadaa! Aren't you excited?" Well, that's what Wicke said but... I'm not happy at all. Excitement, my emotion is far from what you call enthusiasm. Why does this have to happen? I was so happy prisoning myself inside my room. I was fine with my position as a sinecure of ultra guardians. Uuuuu~ I don't want a SKIN. Well, there is one more thing to do if I don't want SKIN.
"Can I break this thing?"
"Please don't." Thus, Wicke answered as seriously as I sounded. Plan failed. Well, whatever. But still, I am more amazed at how my SKIN looked. Oh, for those that don't know what SKIN stands for, it means Skill Navigation. Operating the pokemon skill with the help of an abject (SKIN) and appropriate for oneself in a simpler term. Simple enough, right. Well, thanks to the help of the SKIN that the people can still support themselves even after the world was thrown in disarray and have to constantly face the danger called mutations.
Anyway, going back to the topic in hand, I picked my SKIN. Flabergasted, I don't know what to say. Am I a wizard or what? Because no matter how I look at my just earned SKIN, it looks like a freaking stick. I thin, lightweight rod usually made of wood. Though I doubt this one is actually made using wood. A wand, well, I guess it is ok, in fact far better than the close-range weapon like a sword. I can just hide behind the tree and shoot at the enemy. Now, isn't that just cool? Eh?! It is cowardly? Well, I'm okay with it. After all, I'm just a beautiful and cute little weak girl, there is no way for me to fight like barbarians. No pun included, of course.
With all said and done, I started looking at my wand more closely. It's not like I didn't see a SKIN before, but the excitement of getting myself was a different thing. But I still hate the idea of owning a SKIN. Yeah! some kind of mixed feeling. Looking at the outer structure that felt really amazin' to touch due to its smooth features, I circulated it and pointed it toward a certain target. As expected, nothing came out. Well, I need to register first. And to register, I need to have pokemon, -or mutants, in this case. That's why it is necessary to have a pokemon before obtaining SKIN, but in my case, I can perform the little register myself, so it poses little to no problem.
After analyzing the wand for few seconds, my eyes finally went to the uncertain part of the wand. It may look like some decorative part, but I doubt you would need anything like that that would hinder battle. Yes, hanging on the top of the wand was a little keychain. I don't know why it was there but I doubt it was really just a keychain. Well, at least the keychain was cute and girly. A small glass ball and inside it was pink mist, which looked like cotton candy. I can't help but salivate at the thought.
Leaving aside my tasty thoughts, I asked Wicke about the pink mist. Though I have a general idea about what it is, I don't know what it was doing; being my wand's decorative item. And thus, Wicke explained to me. As expected, it was dream mist. Dream mist has the ability to alter pokemons abilities (leaving aside the original games, you can bring out hiddle ability in some fan-made games). And since the manufacture of the SKIN was started by 'Mauvais SKIN Production', they must have come to terms on how to use dream mist with a SKIN.
As Wicke went on with her explanation, I listened to her without making a sound. I may not look like it but I am fairly interested in new topics. The topic of Dream mist may not hold much meaning to me but still, I would be stupid to let go of such new and interesting information that made its way to my door. Right now, it was in just its trial period, it could allow the user to synchronize not only their moves but their ability too. Honestly, this is just getting ridiculous. Well, I guess with this, humans can be more powerful.
Well, that is if they can fully bring out the potential of the dream mist and SKIN but hey, they are the producer. As I said, this is just in its testing period so, you can't still depend upon it. If it can be fully utilized, I'm sure humans can have more cards up to their sleeves. And that would without a doubt decrease the mortality rate of those adventures. Leaving that aside, I just realized something. Since the so-called dream mist is hanging by my wand, that means, "I'm being used as a test drive, ain't I?"
"No, no... It may be just a prototype but I'm sure it would be really helpful in your battle," Fidgeting Wicke completed her sentence. Though I mean it as sarcasm, the cute and natural-born airhead, as expected didn't get it at all. Seeing her pure reaction in itself can be considered to be a reward. But wait a minute, did she just drop the bombshell or what? She just said 'battle' there, right? I don't want to misunderstand but just in case, I re-asked her.
"Eh?!... Ah!" She averted her eyes. Oiiiiiiii! Look at me. "Well, in any case, you can get some real experience, right?" She tried to assure me but somehow only uncertainty left inside my heart. Once they have pokemon and SKIN, they would get to practice battle inside the 'Virtual Experience System' aka VESystem. And here I am, throw into wild just like that. Is there no justice in this world? To top it, I don't have a pokemon, or mutant, to register. Talk about unfairness. But well, I have some veteran fighters by my side, so I hope this all goes without proving the anxieties creeping up to me. On second thought, maybe I should just choose the safe route and go back home...
Well, guess this sums what she said when she called me. Excluding all my related stuff, Wicke did tell us that there was some sort of disturbance at the outskirts of the Melemele island. Normally, we could just fly there from the pokemon school but due to the interference of the international police, we came here to meet with them. Haaahhh~ we were just supposed to get me a damn mutation, why did the event suddenly took the full 180? Is this the end, or the beginning of the new story? Oh! that was some high-level monologue. Just kidding.
Takin' the time a bit forward, waiting on the Wicke's personal room, which consists of me, Wicke, Anabel, and weird-looking old man- Looker, the member of Ultra Guardians made their entry each wearing their battle suit. Oh! Cool! But I guess I can tell why they were dissatisfied. I mean even though the suits were cool, to actually wear them in front of so many people, no matter how much they are praised, was embarrassing. Even though they look so like heroes, well, they are... but still, to wear something really really mortifying, I can only praise them for their impertinence.
The Blazing Sun - Kiawe (Red)
The Forest Spirit - Mallow (Green)
The Ocean Voice - Lana (Blue)
The Thunder God - Mamane (Yellow)
They sure have the attributes of a hero. Dashing nicknames, cool outfits, good-looking and heroic personality, no wonder they are so popular in all alola. But still, it doesn't change the fact that wearing such an outfit in the public was extremely embarrassing. Well, not that it matters to me, someone who isn't part of the battle team... Battle team?! A sudden realization hit me. Wicke said battle earlier, right? If I have to partake in the battle, doesn't that mean- Suddenly uneasy filled me. To hope to be false, I looked at Wicke with puppy dog eyes.
Sensing my gaze, Wicke showed the troubled expression but that was replaced within a few seconds with a smile and peace she made with her hand. Cute. But does that mean I can hope that I don't have to wear those clothes? I can, right? But destroying my hope, Wicke said with a pure smile, "Looks like surprise work, as you have guessed, your battle-suit is already prepared." My bad premonition was right on the money. Brought to me was a suitcase that can be opened with a side click.
Handing me the suitcase, I was asked to go change in the girl's changing room that was previously used by the girl members of UG. Reluctant to take the suitcase, nonetheless I took it, I headed toward the said room. Each step felt heavy like some sort of big boulder was tied with me. Finally, after much difficulty, I managed to get to the changing room.
The changing room was, well just what it was supposed to look like. It was quite spacious with a big mirror in front and hangers by the side. There were barely three lockers, all with high quality so I doubt this was for the use of members of AP. I haven't been here before so this room was supposedly for the admins or higher members of AP, or probably for personal use. In any case, I should just focus on my primary object, which is to wear an embarrassing hero suit.
Leaving everything to my fate, I took my signature hat before putting it on the large table in the middle of the room. Next, I proceed to open my white one-piece. I started with the zip on my back, as it freed the shoulder area, exposing my pale skin. After separating myself from my dress, I stand in front of the mirror only in my innerwear. Of course, as beautiful as I am, the first thing my sight caught was the scar mark a bit below my chest. Though I can't see it from above because of my valley, it was fully exposed in the mirror. Alright fine, that was a lie, I can still see it even without the help of a mirror. But I have to bow quite a bit, okay... and push my boobs to see it. THIS MUCH isn't a lie.
Anyway, forgetting my mark, I picked up the suitcase and put it on the table. Just like I mentioned before, I was able to open it just by clicking on the side. As it opened, naturally there it was. My very own personal battle suit but before that, what caught my eyes was the paper card on top of it. And on the card was written with the beautiful handwriting was, [Please wear the suit overlapping whatever clothes you are wearing. In another word, you don't have to get naked to wear the suit.]
"Uuuuwaaaa!"
Of course, the first thing my eyes followed was me, standing in front of the mirror with nothing but innerwear. Despite having no one to see me, I couldn't help but get red. "Damn it, Wicke! Can't you tell me all this at the very beginning?" And thus, the voice filled with cries and curses was heard all over the manmade island, Aether Paradise.
